A soft giggle of surprise escaped her and her eyes sparkled in mocking amusement. “I haven’t proof myself worthy to be treated nicely?” She tilted her head and the corners of her mouth curled into a sarcastic smile. “I’m sorry. Really. Where are my manners? Of course, I should have been more polite. But please, share your wisdom.” She made a vague gesture that should encompass the entire situation. “How would that work exactly? How could I prove myself worthy? Since you know...” She wavered between him and herself. “It’s important for our special bonding.” She put the last two words with the fingers in quotation marks and deliberately used his words from before.
Ileen glanced at the tall Slytherin. He was messing with her again. That guy was rude. And sarcastic. It drove her nuts - he always seemed to have an answer to her attacks. If she was completely honest, she liked the exchange a little bit. But really just a little. With a sigh, she picked up a few books, but made sure to always keep an eye on the Slytherin. “Okay then, saint knight” She couldn’t help but snort about the references to her own surname. How ironic. “Can you then put them back up there?” She gave him a mockingly innocent smile, but made sure that the irony was unmistakable. “Please?”
Before she knew it, he suddenly stood closer than expected. Annoyingly, she had to put her head back to look him in the eyes. And she made sure she didn't broke the eye contact. If she did, he would win. And she wouldn't let him. No way. So, she glared back with burning cheeks, not willing to give up. His poison-green eyes sparkled amusedly and she defiantly put her hands on her hips. She would not let herself be upset again - or at least she would try. “Flattered? More confused!” Oops. Well, she didn’t intended to be that honest. Stealthily she peered over to the books. Her fingers itched to pick one up and throw it at him. He confused her and did so with full intent.
The desire to throw books at him became stronger when he told her that his mere presence should have completely taken her over. Whew. Somebody got pretty cocky there. “Well - what could you possibly do?”, she thought aloud and looked at him overly thoughtful. “Hmm… How about turning back time and start over again? Like, not stealing my diary, helping me up?” She gave him a dark look and blinked. She had to be careful there. He obviously knew how to push her emotional buttons. It was a confusing mix. She kind of liked it, but it also made her furios. And he seemed to enjoy it.
When he asked what would happen if he was the bad guy with a dark past, she shrugged. “Well - I guess the past is something we can’t change, right? So what matters is how you act and what you made out of it.” She looked at him furtively, then she smiled. “All the bad guys are telling you there is no need to be afraid until the stab you right in the back. In your case I have no illusions. Why do you think I don't turn my back on you?” She wasn’t calm enough to consider to reflect about his words and behavior on a reasonable level. She tilted her head and looked at him thoughtfully. “Well… shouldn’t I be scared?” She frowned, really thinking about that question. He distracted her. Well well. “Hey - stop that. you are doing it again. Just tell me what you want! Besides gaining entertainment by confusing me!”

A broad smile curled the edges of his lips. Well, where shall we start? Erik started stroking his chin in thought. Aha! First of all you should really start trying to not get caught red handed in these, the older boy was looking for words, peculiar situations. If anything at all down play it like it wasn't completely your fault the bookcase came down on you. The Slytherin started pacing as he spoke to her. When he was finished he looked back at her as he arched his brow. Aren't you going to write this down? This is pretty important stuff, but let's not overwhelm you right away. Let's take things slow. Once you've shown me that you've mastered this feat we shall continue. He couldn't completely keep the mockery out of his voice. Ileen sighed as she started to pick up some of the books that were scattered on the floor and asked to help her out. Who was he to deny such a kind request? Can't say no when you put it like that now can I? You even said please. Erik took a few steps closer as he took the books from her hands as he put them back on the top shelf. Besides, who am I to ignore a cry for help from such a lovely damsel in distress? A glint in his eyes could be seen when he looked back at her.
The werewolf couldn't help, but be amused at how she had to look up at him. On top of that it seems she was holding a staring contest. So tried to give him a taste of his own medicine. He looked back at her eyes with those piercing, almost illuminating, venomous green eyes of his. To be honest her resolve didn't seem to falter at all. Instead she had angled her body towards him so she could stare him down with much more impact. The hands on her hips were to blame for this. Confused, huh? Do explain. She seemed as, if she had said too much and wanted to bite her tongue.
All of a sudden she seemed to try and use his words against him, but Erik wasn't so easily flustered. He loved this verbal little battle they were having. A battle of wits one could say. Oh? So you rather want to start over again? I get it. Though you don't fool me with your excuse you rather wanted me to help you get up and not steal your diary. You just want to experience that first glance of seeing something divine like myself. It's nothing to be ashamed off. No need to turn all red. It's perfectly natural. He winked at her.
You are perfectly right about that! First rule of interacting with Erik. Don't trust me. I'm glad you've noticed I am indeed not some good guy. That tends to get boring and dull real fast. As she went on to ask him, if she should be scared of him the werewolf started to think. Well, maybe. Depends when we bump into each other, but for now there's no need to worry. He was serious. Wether she did what is up to her. I'm not doing anything, Leen! I just walked up here to see what was up and then we started talking. Now, I'm just curious to see who you are and what you are about. You're quite intriguing.

Ileen’s mouth dropped open as her gaze followed the tall Slytherin walking up and down. Her facial expression had changed in a very short time from mockery to complete disbelief to indignation. Aren't you going to write this down? Seriously, what was wrong with this guy? Her dark brown eyes sparkled dangerously as he took the book from her hand and patronizingly placed it on the shelf. She picked up another one and an indignant gasp escaped her.
“When I mastered this feat?” The little girl narrowed her eyes and tried to glare him down. If looks could kill, there would only be a little pile of ashes where Erik stood. “Ohhhhh, my bad. You know, I planned it all so well - getting buried under books to be rescued by a hero.” With a voice dripping with sarcasm, she theatrically laid a hand on her heart, even though her first impulse was to throw the book in her hand in his self-satisfied face. “My mistake. I should have known that heroes don't crawl out when you throw dust. So I'm certainly not gonna get caught in a precarious situation like this again if that attracts people like you.”
When he joined the staring contest, Ileen wouldn't back off. Although the piercing green eyes sent a cold shiver down her spine, she returned his gaze firmly. Fire danced in her dark brown eyes. Mockingly, she raised an eyebrow and tried to banish the trembling from her voice that came mainly from anger. “Oh. Maybe it’s your time to take notes now, Mr. Tharaldson.” She gave him a dark look and tapped her chin in an overly thoughtful manner. “Don’t flip a coin before you decide how to behave. You don’t make any sense!” Although she had lowered her voice to avoid attracting more unwanted attention, she whisper-shouted her last words.
Ileen wasn’t the kind of girl for physical conflicts. Also, she knew she would barely stand a chance against the much taller and stronger boy, but she didn’t care. What an arrogant, smug, condescending jerk! Well, he kind of had asked for it. “Sure! You are the one and only I’ve waited for all of my life! How could I- something divine like me?! You know what?!” Ileen definitely lost her temper now. So she finally gave in to her impulse and threw the book she had picked up to pass it on to Erik for the shelf, against his chest instead. He had asked for it!
It couldn't really have hurt, it was more about making a point. Her indignation and rage was otherwise never channelled into physical violence, especially if a book could be damaged in the process. But this time it was different. This guy was driving her crazy! She wanted to shake him or punch him in the face, but she couldn't get there properly without a ladder.
With glooming eyes she grabbed the next book, ready to start another attack. She stood with her legs apart to have a more stable stand and lifted the thick book threateningly.
“I never ran the risk of falling for you and your unspeakable charm. Don't worry. But thanks for the tip!" she hissed and grabbed the book tighter. She was so emotionally taken by the situation that she almost completely missed his change of mood to serious. So it only made her more angry. “And you think, it could get worse?! I can hardly believe that!”
He wanted to get to know her? Fine. A snort escaped her and she raised the book even higher. At the moment he definitely experienced a side of her no one had seen before. She herself had not even known that this side existed.

Ileen seemed to be taken aback. Erik blamed himself for that. He sighed dramatically whilst thinking to himself. I should have told her to take notes a lot earlier. I must've fried a circuit in her brain with the plenitude of information I just gave her. The werewolf spoke again. Now, now. If I didn't know any better I would've said you were dumbstruck by all the info I gave you. Are you alright? It seemed he had spoken too soon as she, herself, started to speak. This time with complete and utter sarcasm. It made him chuckle. Let me get you in on a secret. Erik leaned over to whisper gently in her ear. Trust me. There's no one quite like me at Hogwarts. He winked at her as if to intensify his words.
As the staring contest went on neither of them seemed to be willing to back down. The werewolf liked it. There was something thrilling about this little spitfire. That much he could tell by that dangerous little spark he had seemed to ignite in her eyes. Now, what would be the fun in that, my dear Leen? I got to keep you on edge! It's more fun this way.
Just like that he had pushed her too far. Before he knew, and probably before she even realised, Ileen threw a book at him that struck him square in the chest. It didn't even hurt, but it came unexpectedly, which caused a mix of emotions that were edged on his face. On the inside he was battling whether he should be more careful with her or be amused by this whole scenario he had caused. The decision, however, was quickly made for him as she picked up another book and menacingly was aiming for him again. Erik put his hands up in a sign of surrender. Hold up, spitfire! Truce! If he would've been able to he would've waved a white flag. Now, why don't we just cool our jets and talk this over before throwing another book at me, huh? Just put it down now. I tell you what! If you put down the book I'll even be nice. He hastily added while mumbling hoping she wouldn't hear him. Well, nicer. He clapped in his hands as he spoke again. What do you say about that, Leen? Erik offered his hand to shake hers. Truce?, he said with his most disarming smile.
If Ileen would put down the book he would continue. Attagirl! I'm sorry for being, so... Well, let's face it. For being a twat. Sometimes it just gets the better of me. In all honesty I'm glad you knocked over the bookcase. You're quite fun. I don't know how fun though. So, what do you say if we find out? What do you say about a little dare?
If Ileen wouldn't put down the book Erik would try his hardest to dodge all the flying books that were directed to him screaming at the top of his lungs: Don't aim for my face! That's my best feature!

Ileen blinked, the book still in her hand, as he managed to make it even worse. The twinkle in his eyes and the mockery in his tone made it clear that he was teasing her, and it worked way too well. Good thing, you know better then! The young first year gritted her teeth, ready to throw him this answer right into the smug face, when he took her by surprise again. Suddenly he was much closer than she was comfortable with and when he whispered in her ear a shiver ran down her spine. Before she could push him away, he had already leaned back again and gave her a cheeky wink. “I hope so. One of you is more than enough!”
She returned his gaze with a glare and tilted her head. She was so consumed by the emotions and the back and forth of this situation, that she hardly realized she talked to him already more than to any other of her Slytherin peers so far. The thought that he was here pushing her around because he most likely had just nothing better to do drove her nuts.
It gave her grim satisfaction when the book hit his chest and she could read the struggle of various indistinct emotions on his face. Ha, he hadn't expected that! Following her impulse, of course, she had not thought this action through to the end - if the larger student were to fight back, she would most likely end up with her back to the wall or on the floor at best, but there was no space for fear in her heart yet. Ready to throw the next book right into his face, she aimed for him, her heart pounding in her chest. If he thought he could just push her around as he pleased, he had gotten the wrong one! It felt so good to vent her feelings that she didn't care that she would most likely get detention for this if a teacher or prefect would catch them.
But his reaction threw her completely off course. She had reckoned with everything: Insults, a counterattack, but this? Slowly and very suspiciously she put the book down without letting Erik out of her sight for even a second. Was this another trick?
She watched every move he made, how he spoke, how he moved, to be able to anticipate a sudden attack. But no. Although he was still rude, he seemed to be serious.
With an arched eyebrow she eyed the hand he offered her. “Truce?” Her cheeks were still reddened with anger and her eyes sparkled dangerously, but she had to swallow when he smiled at her so openly. “You told me, not to trust you.” She was so confused, she even forgot to complain about this stupid nickname he was still using to tease her. In an exaggeratedly thoughtful manner and a dark look she stroked a dark strand of hair from her eyes. “Well, if you are nicer I probably don’t have to throw another book at you.” A nicer version of that guy? Doubtable, but interesting. Hesitantly she reached out for his hand, not sure if she was about to make a mistake. Anyway, she could still start throwing books at him.
“Attagirl?! I –“ The only reason, that she didn’t snap again was the fact that he had apologized – another reaction she hadn’t expected from such a, as he had said, twat. With him she was constantly caught between amusement, incredulity and rage, a mixture she had never felt before.
“What makes you think I have any reason to proof you, that I am fun?” She hated it, but he had made her curious. Well, she kept the book in one hand – just in case. “What do you have in mind?” The question had escaped her and annoyingly she gritted her teeth. He shouldn't think that she was interested in what he thought or intended - even if she unfortunately was. But she was not yet ready to admit this to herself.
