After a particularly horrible Potions lesson, where Scarlett had messed up all the ingredients and read the instructions wrong, this redheaded Gryffindor was on edge. Anyone who talked to her - even her friends - would get a heavy dose of her snarky snapping. Her body language conveyed her mood perfectly as well. Narrowed eyes, wild hair, crumpled robes, tense, alert movements - it was safe to say Scarlett was, at the moment, not someone you would want to mess with.
She stalked out of the Potions classroom quietly. The atmosphere seemed to be holding its breath. All the other students had walked away, chattering. Scarlett seemed silent today. Not a calm, serene, peaceful silent. But an angry silence, one that seemed dangerous, malicious, riddled with glares and promises of worse things to come. No one had ever seen the girl like this before. It looked like she was over-reacting. A horrid Potions lessons - why would she feel the need to go all 'Death Glare Mode'? Perhaps it was just fate, that was all. Perhaps it was the events of the summer, and what had happened only two days before, that added to this moody day.
Scarlett didn't know what was to come later on. For now, she wanted to stay in her silence. Of course, no one would want to disturb her. Even a raging-mad Scarlett, who had all the anger practically exploding out of her wouldn't be a scary as this.
A chill swept through the musty dungeon air.

*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*Ruby scowled as she stalked through the corridors, storming into the dungeons. They could be dangerous, and they were dark and cold, but it matched her current mood. She was angry yet again and she had picked the dungeons as her preferred location in which to cool off, since what student would willingly spend time in a musty old place like this? No one in their right mind, but maybe they weren't in their right mind, much like Ruby, and chose to venture down here. And they seemed to do so, at least some of them. She had already got into magical fights in these cold regions, and it had only been a little over a week since the start of the new school year.
A very quiet sigh was let out as she continued walking. She was about to settle down here, picking this area to stay in for a little while before returning above ground. It was far enough away from the rooms where other students went—the Slytherin areas and the potions classroom—but it wasn't so far in that she would get lost or be completely unable to see a potential danger before it struck. Her eyes adjusted to what was left of the dim light, and right when she was ready to stop, she tripped. A cry escaped her lips, echoing faintly throughout this region of the dungeons. She mentally cursed as she picked herself up, looking around quickly to make sure that there was definitely no one who had seen her mess up.*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*

Today was definitely a bad day for the redhead. Her whole body was tense and it seemed like she was just itching to fight someone, to attack someone. It was all the events of the past few days, the past few months combined that were now just barely constrained on this day. Perhaps once Scarlett took her emotions out on someone just a few metres down the musty Dungeon corridor, the girl would feel a bit more free. It came with a price though, obviously. Scarlett would probably make an enemy of her innocent victim, who also happened to be a rather cold Slytherin prefect.
But, without all of that foreshadowing, Scarlett currently believed that she was simply alone in her thoughts, wallowing in her anger, fuming silently at the sheer annoyance the girl was feeling towards the world at the moment. After a while, the redhead started to relax, only ever so slightly. She felt her stiff limbs and tense muscles loosen and she sighed a barely audible sigh, the sound escaping from her lips as if carrying all her worries out of her mind with it. She had to choke back a laugh - she was practising mindfulness in the Dungeons. What had the world come to? Cheesy mental exercises taught by overly cheerful Muggle adults? Why, Scarlett didn't even think that -
A cry.
Immediately, her relaxed stance from just a few moments ago was gone, replaced with the original, aggravated and rigid girl seen slinking out of the Potions classroom minutes before. She didn't think, her impulsiveness kicking in, her mind reacting the way it was meant to, because she was Scarlett, and Scarlett always acted without thinking.
Her hand plunged in her Gryffindor robes, slender fingers closing around her trusty blackthorn wand as she steadily aimed in the direction of the noise, uttering the first spell that came into her mind:
"Flipendo!"
