Some News, Indeed! PV 4 Finished

The boy that sit not far from them, introduced his name as Henry. Henry then asked the purple hair girl whether they are a first year not not. "Matter of fact I am"Cash said the obvious. Henry then mention that he had seen Cash before. There is not a lot of people who sporting purple hair like themselves.

The other girl with the same purple hair is someone that older than them and she is a upperclassman. Henry than ask will Cash attend the summer camp or not. "Might as well go, beside during the holiday back home at the Ironwoods Manor is empty. Mother too busy with her job and father now well missing"Cash joke darkly.

The green eyes girl let out a small chuckle at Henry's comment about not getting another howler at the camp. Cash smile at that. Cash can see that the boy trying to distracting their mind from the said blasted letter and it seems slowly it do wonder to ease their mind albeit not entirely gone from their mind.

After Cash told the group is it normal that they did not particularly close with their father and their father is missing, Henry also told the group that he also did not particularly close with his father. The red head girl offer them a hug and Cash gladly accept that. After the red head have the permission to hug the soon to be second year student, she hug them.

The girl rubbed Cash's back in comforting manner. While the red head girl hug and rubbed their back, Cash feel like want to cry with how warmth it is. Under the circumstances the purple hair girl in, it is what they need. Usually they do not like getting into some kind of physical touch but a simple hug would do wonder to one mind that been shock by the letter.

The red head said her hello to Scarlett and clarified to Henry that Cash meant was their father. Cash let out a cringe when the red head use she / her pronouns. "They"Cash corrected the red head girl. Cash listened to the red head as she said about the world is screw up and people goes missing is definitely not normal.

"I'm Cassandra, by the way. Cash"They informed the little group that surround the green eyes girl. Though many time that they wished their father gone missing when their father actually missing, Cash did not know what to feel about it. The another voice enter the mix. Cash looked up to the blonde girl. By the uniform she is wearing, she is a Ravenclaw.

Blonde hair Ravenclaw girl. The girl reminded them of their best friend. But as the year progress Cash did not know whether they are still Lizzie Verdine best friend or not. The girl is the only one that did not say sorry that their father is missing and Cash was glad for it. The girl said it will probably turn all right and the Ministry knows what it's doing.

Miranda stated that the Ministry will find Cash's father in no time but in the back of their mind, Cash is not sure about it. Henry also mention that Cash father is alright. With all the comforting that been given to the green eyes girl, they should feel comfort right? But the green eyes girl had a lingering feeling that their father will be found years later down the road.

Henry then rebuffed what Miranda said about the Ministry knew what it's doing. At this rate Cash can not handle any arguments. The attention that they got from Henry, Miranda, Rose and Scarlett were overwhelming them enough. They feel like another panic attacks about to set in.

"Could-you-maybe-stopped-that?"Cash inquired between their ragged breathe about the little argument that Henry and Miranda was in. Once again Cash feel like all the walls in the Hall closing in and Cash trying so hard to control their breathing so they did not passed out from it.

Cash started to respond, in a numb sort of fashion, like they didn't know what to feel, what to think. Scarlett kind of understood, but at the same time she didn't. She got that it was hard to process the news - it was always like that. Why wouldn't it be? The world, at least for her, had seemed to slow down, everything not worth registering in life. But Scarlett's father had always spoiled her when she was young. The Gryffindor remembered this. She recalled having some sort of fancy baby food each week, which she never really liked. She remembered laughter and fun as they painted her bedroom a sunny-yellow. That was why she was in so much pain after her father had left. His daughter had really loved him. And now she hated him.

Scarlett's not-so-efficient method of coping with loss was blaming people and hating the offender for the rest of her days.

Cash managed a small hello and called her Adey. It had been honestly been one of her favourite nicknames, despite being made up on the spot as she sped into the meeting place of the ABC, late yet again. It was a month after the club meeting. She vaguely wondered if there was going to be any more.

Cash started to talk, trailing off and running their hand through their hair, exhaling as if letting out all their troubles. They said that they just didn't know.

"I get it," said Scarlett, fidgeting with her fingers. Not in an uncomfortable, anxious way but more of an activity to keep every part of her occupied. "And I know, I know, it feels strange and horrible and you just, well, don't know...but eventually I think you'll get used to everything."

Scarlett didn't want to sound like a brat, so she ploughed on. "Because you're a strong person Cash. I really believe you can make it through this and...the situation may not be normal, but for some reason, lots of people at Hogwarts have had missing or deceased family members, which is really strange. But there are so many people who can help you Cash. And I'm here as well, for support."

She smiled at the Slytherin.

A few minutes later into conversation, Cash looked like they were barely getting by and regulating their breathing. They asked if a blonde Ravenclaw and Henry Knight could stop.

Stop what?

Scarlett whirled around to face her childhood friend, ready to defend her real friend at any cost. Him and the blonde Ravenclaw seemed to be just starting what could be an argument, and Cash looked like they couldn't handle that.

"Look, can you two stop?" asked Scarlett, gritting her teeth. "Cash doesn't need any more arguments!"

She may have over-reacted, she may have not, but at that moment Scarlett realised she was also potentially fuelling the fire, and her mouth snapped shut faster that you could say 'Quidditch'. She took a deep breath in and out, knowing and trying to help the person who needed help. Not flaring up at someone with her own petty sense of moral justice.

"Cash, I - I'm sorry," said Scarlett, looking down at her shoes. "I could just make everything worse for you when I know how hard it is to cope. I - do you want me to leave? I won't be sad or offended or anything if you do..."

Scarlett had reassured Cash that they were a strong person. Rose wanted to second that, but she hadn't even known Cash for ten minutes. Trying to lighten the mood, Rose added to Scarlett's comment, "I just met you, but, I mean, you've survived the world this long, you can't be anything but strong." Rose offered her a warm smile.
Cash corrected her, apparently she used they/them pronouns. Rose blushed deep red. "Oh, sorry, I should have, um, asked or something." She felt really really bad for using the wrong words to refer to her, especially since she was so against stereotypes. She should have asked instead of assuming. Rose would remember that- or, at least try.
"That's a cool name," Rose commented when Cash offered their name. Rose was about to offer hers, but she was interupted by Miranda and Henry starting to argue. What Henry basically said was, "No, the ministry doesn't really care about your dad, they probably won't find him, but, yeah, I'm sure he'll be okay!" Yeah, great, Henry, really helping here.
Cash shakily asked them to stop, and seemed to start panicking again. Rose didn't want to invade their personal space, but she wanted to calm them down, so she was about to gently ask them to stop, but Scarlett felt like it would be better to yell at them. She didn't really yell at them, but she was pretty harsh. While Scarlett was doing that, Rose murmured comfortingly to Cash, "It's okay, Henry just has a strong opinion, that's all, they weren't going to start arguing or anything- I'm sure someone will find him in no time." Once Scarlett was done and switched her attention back to trying to help Cash, Rose turned to Henry and just whispered gently, "I don't think that was helping."
Henry used a very obnoxious way to inform Scarlett that changing the subject would be better for Cash, and Rose nodded, he was right. "Yeah, are you, um, interested in being on the team?"

Miranda had been about to reply, but the moment the purple haired Slytherin had rebuked them, she snapped her mouth shut. They were right. Argument definitely wouldn't help at the moment. Instead, she glanced down at her shoes, wincing at how, even though she'd came to help, it didn't really seem like she was being necessarily, well, helpful. The others were doing fine, but it looked almost like Miranda's words were doing more to harm than heal.

"Sorry," she murmured, although it came out so quietly that she wasn't sure anyone could hear it. Miranda debated leaving, and most likely would have if it weren't for the realization that some of the assembled might take it the wrong way and think she was mad or at least annoyed. Why else would she leave so suddenly, anyways? They might not understand how awkward the situation felt for her, trying to reassure someone else with so many worries of her own at the moment. It was truly difficult to avoid becoming preoccupied in her own thoughts and stay centred on the present.

Sure, she could try to explain...but maybe it would be better to just stay close by and keep quiet unless she was needed to speak - which didn't seem likely due to the fact that three other people were already doing that.

When Scarlett said that the green eyes will get used to everything, they looked at Scarlett doubtfully. Cash relationship to their father is limited, dare to say almost none to existed but why the news of him being missing is like there is some hole that being nailed to their heart? The green eyes listen to every word Scarlett said.

They just to believe that they are strong. It is bad enough this four other students seeing the green eyes almost broke down. Not only once but twice. How pathetic can you be?, their inner thought jeered at them. Cash let out a teary laugh when Scarlett so casually mention that lots of people at Hogwarts have had missing or deceased family members.

"Strange indeed"They agreed with Scarlett. At the mention of Cash trying to ask Henry and the blonde Ravenclaw from their bickering, Scarlett barked at them. Cash feel like their mind and mental will go mad. They want to laugh so badly but if they done that, the others will think that the green eyes was indeed crazy.

Scarlett then realize that she yelled at Henry and the blonde Ravenclaw and possibly make the purple hair girl in much worse condition. Scarlett also told Cash that if the green eyes asked Scarlett to leave, she will not be sad or get offended. Cash was so thankful at the situation like this people band together to help the distraught girl.

"No, no"Cash open their mouth. "It is okay. You do not have to leave or anything"Cash throw a small smile to Scarlett, telling her that the soon to be second year is fine but the truth is they are far then being fine. After Scarlett yelled at Henry and the blonde Raven, the Slytherin boy apologize to the green eyes.

At the mention of camp, though at this moment are not appealing for the green eyes but when Cash arrived at the encampment, anything is possible. "Yeah, I would love that"Cash directly said to Henry. Once again Henry spewing fact, Cash smile at their housemate. "You are something else, did you know that?"Cash stated to Henry.

Rose being the most calmed out of the four, second what Scarlett had just said. Two out of four, telling them to be strong and Cash believe they can do it. Nor right away but as time progress they will be. When Rose apologize for using the wrong pronoun, Cash patted Rose hand. "It is okay. A lot of people done that too"The green eyes reassure their new friend.

"Which one it?"They inquire to Rose about their name. "The 'Phoenix' one or the 'Cassandra' one?"They chuckled. Though in the middle of the bickering, the green eyes never feel more happier. Three out of four of them, did not know the green eyes that well but they willing to band together and make sure the green eyes are okay.

The ever gentle Rose murmuring comforting words to the less distraught person. She stated that Henry had strong opinion and once again, Rose assure Cash that the Ministry will find their father. Cash nodded at that. It look like changing subjects are Henry's speciality. Henry then inquires Cash whether next year the green eyes will try out for Quidditch team.

Rose second Henry's question. "I am"They exclaimed. "I want to try out as a beater"They told the group. "My father once a beater and it would be an honor if I can be one too"They stating the fact. Sure Cash and their father hardly share any affection but growing up as an only child, they looked up to their parents. Cash look at Henry, Scarlett, Rose and Miranda one by one.

The burden suddenly feel less than heavy from the previous moment ago. Through out the conversation, Miranda had been quiet. But Cash heard the small murmured that come from Miranda. "Hey, it is all good"They assured the blonde girl. "Like she said.. umm what your name?"Cash questioned Rose.

"Both of you just have strong opinions about something and I guess I am the one that should be apologizing for"They uttered. "I am the one that can not handle your arguments. It is all good now"They told Miranda. One more time the green eyes look at the other four and so thankful that their mother sent that howler in the first place.

Merlin, could there be any way Henry could be more annoying? Personally, at that moment, the young redhead felt like she was barely containing her anger. In fact, the only thing keeping her down, the only thing keeping her chained to reality was Cash, who needed help and support. The Slytherin did not need two ex-friends sniping at each other, after what should've been a tearful re-union at Hogwarts turned out rather catastrophic in the young girl's opinion. And anyway, could she help it if it was all completely and utterly Henry's fault?

Henry replied to what Scarlett said in an obnoxious, know-it-all manner. Science proves, mimicked Scarlett in a sugar-sweet voice - in her thoughts, of course. She clenched her fists to give her another anchor to reality, so she wouldn't just explode out of fury and direct it all on Henry, gave the boy her best glare, dark-brown against light-blue, and turned back to Cash, deciding to just ignore everything Henry said. She would focus on Cash and that was that. Some people didn't deserve to be acknowledged.

The Gryffindor bit back a sigh after she had apologised and everything had hopefully cooled down. She would settle feuds later. Thankfully, Cash was being the amazing person they were and told Scarlett she didn't have to leave. Rose took initiative for a bit, acting rather mature for her age - a feat Scarlett probably would never accomplish. She comforted Cash, generally looked like she agreed with everyone and became the peace-maker. Perfect - with someone to moderate the slightly awkward meeting, Scarlett could just concentrate on what she needed to do; talk with the group. Except Henry.

"Beater?" asked Scarlett, the look on her face incredulous, but in a positive way. "I'm signing up for Beater tryouts as well! With the Gryffindor team, of course. Anyone else want a Quidditch position?"

She could only hope Henry wouldn't answer her.

Scarlett glanced over at the blonde, curiously. The Ravenclaw hadn't spoken yet, but seemed rather nice. She didn't approach her though - maybe they would meet again another day and become proper acquaintances.

"All...good now," said Scarlett, slowly, as if trying to figure out what that meant. "Well - I mean - that's perfect! I'd probably be heading back to my table now -"

She glanced round at some of the students starting to point and whisper.

"but if you need me, I'll be here," she finished, giving Cash a small, quick hug. "I'm glad I got to meet you all."

And she really was, as the girl happily sat back down on her seat, grateful for the oppurtunity to meet new people and hopefully get to know Cash a bit more. She was excited to hopefully know the other redhead girl some more as well - they were similar in more ways than one, except just not the personality. The blonde looked nice as well. And she would continue on her quest to ignore Henry.

But for now, food was waiting.

Rose chuckled a little, "They're both cool, though..." she cocked her head, her smile teasing. "Though the one your mom used is not quite as common as the other."
Rose rocked on her feet. "It's Rose. Rose Moon. But you can call me Rose."
Going along with their apparent plan of changing the subject, Rose answered Scarlett, "I am. I would like to be a seeker for the Gryffindor team." 'though I doubt that will ever happen- I will never be good enough for a team, even a school team...' she didn't add that last part out loud, though she thought it. She shook the doubting thought away- this wasn't a time for that, and remembered her friend, Aurelia's words- that she would never get on the team if she didn't believe in herself.
Rose smiled, a real smile, at the thought of Auri, and turned back to Cash as well, adding, "Yeah, I should probably go with Scarlett- I'll need to eat a little more than half a piece of toast if I'm not going to get hungry today." She felt extremely out of place over by the Slytherin Table, and wanted to stop being subject to people wondering what the heck a Gryffindor redhead was doing over by the Slytherin Table. She took in a deep breath, hoping that Cash would be okay- she was strong, she would be fine. "Just tell me if you need me," she finished, before ducking her head and following Scarlett, letting her pave the way back to their own table.
She was glad she could help and that Cash hadn't gotten annoyed at her for being a nosy little redhead who had no business helping her.
Henry was a little obnoxious, but he had helped by changing the subject and getting there first, and the Ravenclaw girl really hadn't helped at all, though it was nice of her to come over to try to help. Scarlett was fierce and fearless, something Rose admired but knew she should watch out for, if ever they came across each other as something other than allies, which she hoped would never happen.
Rose probably seemed like the quiet and probably useless girl who really had no business being over there yet came to help anyway. At least she had given Cash a hug, though.
She was glad she helped.
