Hjørdis made no comment to her aunt's words. She likely did overwork as usual but it was a habit by now. Anything else would be weird. Besides, what exactly was she going to do in her spare time if she was not going to work? That was a ridiculous concept. Her free time usually went in reading up on potions or... making potions... or learning more about healing potions... You see a connection here? Gosh dernit, Hjørdis was definitely boring, if nothing else. But she liked learning more and developing her skills. And she had nothing else really to do. Except maybe now, she could tend to her kitten.

Her eyes glanced down to the floor, where Jeger was curled up in a ball in the corner of the room. The kitten had followed her in on her heel, walked around the room a little, stared at all of the strangers before hiding in a corner, behind some of the furniture.

She glanced back to the family, as Callie started to speak. "Oh?" She asked, finding it rather intriguing that they both used floating abilities by accident. Callie floated herself, Hjørdis floated an object in anger. She smiled softly as her uncle interjected, only to defend himself. "That really happened, Callie. It was not a dream. I made something float as a child too." She would say softly, pausing for a moment - knowing full well that her relatives probably thought she was either just humouring the child or being a little crazy.

Hjørdis was then accused of being a psychic - or a spy. Psychic was definitely not correct. Divination would be the closest thing to that and that was not something that interested her. Never had, never will. Spy, on the other hand, was probably exactly what her uncle and aunt thought she had been. It certainly explained her frequent travels, never staying in one place for too long and mysterious lifestyle. "This may sound a little crazy but... Actually, I know because I'm a witch. And Callie is one too," She said firmly, in a matter of fact tone that showed that she was not joking.

She took a deep breath and waited for the kickback. It always came. Understandably, of course. But you did not need to be a Seer to know it was coming.

"You made something float too? What did you make float? Can you make anything float? Oooh can we float Adrian!" Callie's face lit up like a Christmas tree upon hearing such things as she realised that she was perhaps not as insane as her brother made her out to be. If Callie was able to make herself float on accident, what else could she make float on purpose? Faced with the exciting prospect of living out her dream of making things float across to her from the opposite side of the room, Callie couldn't help but let her mind wander. She'd never have to get up to grab the TV remote again! Well that is if she could figure out how to make it happen again although this lack of a repeated incident was not for lack of trying. In the days following the incident deep within the forest Callie had repeatedly tried to re-enact it in order to prove to her brother she wasn't making things up but had thus far been unsuccessful.

Callie's foray into the endless possibilities of making things float towards her were brought to a screeching halt as Nora told Callie her nature as a witch. "Like the weird ladies that cackle with the HUUUGE noses?" Callie asked with a raised eyebrow, her parents reacting similarly. Was she really just like those ugly cartoonish witches from the movies? Callie didn't think she had a big nose and Nora most certainly was not plagued by a large, hooked nose covered in warts. She couldn't help but wonder if her father was right in the sheer amount of movies Callie tended to watch, as gaining her worlds view on witches from such media couldn't be a good thing. "Is this school filled with witches? Ooh! Do any of them have the weird ugly nose like in the movies?" Callie asked excitedly as she mimicked the noses in question.

While Callie was more than excited about the revelation, her parents were decidedly less so. Although they did not seem at all hostile to the idea as it would explain a fair few things that happened to their daughter growing up. If anything they were more concerned about what other people would think if such things were exposed about Callie. The notion was a crazy one but Mark and Ellen had never known Nora to be a liar. To them she was as truthful and honest with them as she could be in spite of that nature of her work. So if she was coming out with such things, the idea of Callie being a witch wasn't such an insane one after all. The rest of the family didn't voice their concerns aloud, instead opting to let Callie babble on as she normally did as the news started to sink in.

Callie's excitement was not something Hjørdis had anticipated. Confusion, perhaps. But her immediate excitement was a pleasant surprise. It was as though Callie accepted the explanation without even questioning the logic of it. At the very least, having experienced it herself, it was likely something she understood much better. She laughed softly at the fact that Callie instantly thought witches had a cackle and a huge nose. Quirking an eyebrow playfully, "Are you trying to say I have a huge nose, warts, and cackle?" She teased lightly. Hjørdis was far too confident to doubt her appearance. She was beautiful - she knew that much.

"However, yes, my first display of magic was making something float. I got angry," Hjørdis smiled softly, replying honestly. It was a little strange to think that happened so many years ago. At the time, she grew up not knowing anything about magic - despite her pureblood mother. She had gotten angry after her mother flaked on the visit that young Hjørdis was promised and ended up causing the teacup near her to fly into the wall.

With a smile on her face, she shook her head, "No, we most certainly cannot make Adrian fly," She responded, before dropping the smile for a more serious conversation. It needed to be had, after all, "Callie, I know you're excited but this is also a very serious thing. Magic is not something to take lightly. With great power comes great responsibility," Quoting Uncle Ben from a Spiderman movie, which was something she had seen in her own childhood - well before Callie was even born. Lord, that made her feel old if anything did. "As such, underage magic is not allowed, nor is it something you can share with others." She sighed softly, deciding to address the elephant in the room, "It is the reason that I could not share this with any of you before today," Hjørdis explained.

She had known about it well before she had even met this side of the family, reaching out to them not too long ago. Yet, it was a secret she had to keep that way. It also meant that none of them could share this with the other relatives that they had in common. They would have to keep it a secret too.

Hjørdis turned towards her aunt and uncle, "I know this is a lot to take and... honestly, not something that is easy to accept. I remember when dad found out. He got so angry. I don't blame him. He was confused, perhaps even hurt that Muirenn never told him but... yeah... In my case, my mother was a witch too. I inherited it from her. In Callie's case, it was likely a distant ancestor," The head of Slytherin explained, she sighed softly. It was not easy to take, not at all. She could recall the day so vividly. She had thought about it for years.

Her father was very hurt. He did not understand the whole pureblood - muggle rivalry. It was kind of painful to see. In a way, looking back at it, Hjørdis understood a little more. She understood the fears that her mother had but also, was not pleased about it. It was hard to forgive after everything. Her father was hurt, she knew that. Confused, hurt and broken. He just wanted to understand but could not at first. It came out as anger that day but it was likely a facade for his hurt, "Please, if you have any questions...?" She offered, trying to help them feel a bit more at ease.

"Maybe I am!" Callie replied with a notable hint of pride in her accusations of Nora having witch like features. Her accusations were entirely unfounded of course but Callie had opted to stand by them purely for comedic purposes, prompting a light whack to the wrist from her mother. However it didn't take long for Callie's mind to drift back to thoughts of magic and fantasy when Nora mentioned her own first instances of magic. If all of that was real and not in fact some kind of fever dream what other possibilities were a reality? How far did the reaches of what was possible with magic extend in a concept which by its very nature seemed very limitless? Callie didn't have much time to dwell on such things before her focus was very quickly brought back to Nora. "You got angry?" Callie questioned with a hint of curiosity. Did using magic like that rely on circumstance and emotion? All of this seemed rather strange yet endlessly fascinating to the annoyingly curious girl.

Callie's thoughts on what mischief she could get up to were quickly brought to a halt when Nora firmly decided that they could not make Adrian float. Was everything really that serious? Nora's spiderman-eque advice seemed to indicate such severity. Perhaps all that time watching movies with her brother wasn't time wasted after all if Nora found herself quoting from them. "Like Spiderman! I get it! You're spared Adrian!" Callie announced which prompted a sigh of relief from her brother. "So we've got to keep this a big secret then? Just like you did?" Callie asked as she interlocked her fingers together repeatedly out of habit rather than nervousness. Having to keep the idea of magic being real seemed rather strange for Callie, surely it was something to be celebrated? If the possibilities of magic were so endless why was it such a closely guarded secret? Callie assumed such secrecy lay in the stereotypes surrounding witches and wizards alike, which she'd only recently discovered after watching a documentary on witch trials with her dad. If people reacted to witches and wizards with such hostility then Callie was rather scared to imagine what people would do now. Callie was for the most part an optimist but wasn't naive enough to assume that everyone was a shining beacon of everything good in the world. The world could be a beautiful place but it could similarly be an incredibly harsh one filled with people capable of incredibly dark actions. "Is this because of the uh...trial things? You know the really nasty people who hurt those poor people?" Callie asked in a tone considerably more serious than her usual mindless babbles.

"Well...it's a lot to take in I'll certainly give you that one Nora." Callie's father responded with a slight chuckle, seemingly more amused than anything. He always knew Callie was something special but he never in his wildest dreams thought she would be wrapped up in things that seemed like fantasy. However both her father and mother didn't by any means seem hostile to the revelations on the table. If anything they were concerned for the future of their daughter if she was wrapped up in a world of wizardry but if Nora was the one to help guide Callie into such chaos it made the idea much easier to contend with. They both trusted Nora a great deal and figured Callie would be in safe hands in the school she spoke of. Perhaps it was the best place for the easily excitable girl after all. "But I trust you entirely Nora and if you're saying all of this it must have some degree of truth." He continued after a few moments of quiet consideration.

"So this school you spoke about, it's for people like Callie right?" Callie's mother asked with the same curiosity as her daughter albeit with the excitement dialled back considerably. In comparison to her daughter Callie's mother was a much more reserved soul, or at least on surface level. "She'd learn how to..manage all of this?" While she asked questions Callie's brother seemed to be rather bored by the entire conversation and had opted to continue quietly kicking his sister under the table. Such antics prompted Callie's retaliation which she made some attempt to conceal to try and avoid being told off by her mother.

Hjørdis playfully narrowed her eyes at her young cousin. She was far too confident to think anyone would ever believe such a thing but she played along nonetheless, for Callie's benefit. She chuckled a little as her aunt promptly stopped Callie though before nodding in response to the question that was raised, "Yes. This is why it's important that every witch or wizard learns to control their abilities," She replied with a more serious expression on her face. Accidental magic only got worse if you did not get proper education. It was why every wizard or witch was sent a letter on their eleventh birthday.

She sighed and nodded, "People are often scared of what they do not have or understand. Perhaps even jealous. Incidents like that, caused a secrecy law to be put into place. Whilst you don't have to worry about the specifics yet, it means that you cannot tell anyone outside of this room anything about this. Not your school friends, or neighbours, or other relatives. No one." She explained as clearly as possible, without going into all of the details. The International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy was a little long and not quite something she had to worry about right now. The witch hunts changed so much. Of course, there were still some muggles that knew. The muggle prime minster, for example, was aware. However, these were details that Callie did not really need to be told right now. It was already a lot to take in without Hjørdis harping on about things that did not really affect her. It was not like Callie was going to meet the muggle prime minster any time soon, anyway.

Smiling softly at her uncle, she nodded to try and reassure him a little. It was certainly a lot. She was pleased that he trusted her enough to take it seriously - though she did sense a little hesitation based on his choice of words. It was understandable. No matter how much you trusted someone, if they told you something that contradicted everything you knew your whole life, you would hesitate a little.

Opening her bag, she reached into it and took out the letter and a small box. The letter was addressed to Callie, of course, with the red Hogwarts wax seal on the back of it. She left the box on the table for now and passed the letter down towards her uncle and aunt. "Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She would learn how to control her magic, yes," She replied to confirm her aunt's thoughts. She had already told them about the costs, the similarities between secondary school, and the fact that it was full boarding so did not add this on.

"Even the simplest displays of magic require concentration and control. Failure to do so can be rather harmful for yourself or those around you," Hjørdis explained, pausing to think about how many students had critically failed to cast a spell and ended up getting badly hurt by their own power. Emotions did not help. Education, however, did. She pulled out another object from her bag, an almost twenty four centimetre mayhaw wood wand. Tapping the box with it, she muttered under her breathe, inaudible to Callie as she did not want the student to try and emulate her before she knew how to. Of course, she could have used wandless or non-verbal but that was a whole other step that she did not want to explain now. Callie would use a wand, it made sense to show it that way, "However, why don't we start with some cake?"

The box suddenly grew in size, returning to its original size. It went from a small box that looked like it might have held earrings or something to a twelve inch box that clearly looked like it held a birthday cake. If anyone opened it, they would find a twelve inch cake inside. It had white icing over it, with the words "Happy Birthday" written in a bright blue. The edges of it had little blue flowers made from the icing too. Underneath the large greeting, it read "P.S. You're a witch, Callie".

She hoped the small display of magic would show her uncle and aunt that this was very much real and very much happening. Besides, who did not want cake? Hjørdis had prepared it earlier that morning, so it was very freshly baked for this occasion. She lowered her wand and returned it to her lap, where her hands were.

If Nora was telling Callie that it was important to learn to control her apparent abilities it must've been dangerous if left unchecked. What on earth could happen if Callie allowed herself to carry on as normal without any arcane education? How bad would things get? Would she turn herself into a frog? Callie didn't want to be a frog! They were far too slimy and noisy. "I don't want to become a frog!" Callie suddenly burst out before Nora continued, prompting the girl to quickly cover her mouth and allow her cousin to continue on with her explanations.

Now more than ever Callie listened intently to Nora and clung onto her every word. After all she was incredibly curious as to how things ended up being so secretive. Callie could understand people being scared of things they didn't understand but she couldn't quite grasp why someone would hurt others simply for being scared. For example Callie was terribly frightened of spiders but still wouldn't go out hurting them and instead went out of her way to make other people get rid of the creatures humanely. However if things really were that dangerous then perhaps keeping all this excitement was a necessary evil - even if Callie wanted nothing more than to shout her new knowledge from the rooftops. "Alrighty!" She announced suddenly with a determined grin across her face. "My lips are sealed! Nobody else shall know! Not even Uncle Vernon! Actually, especially Uncle Vernon! He's so nosy.." Callie trailed off in thought as her parents looked over the letter placed onto the table.

It didn't take long for her father to push the letter into Callie's hands and pushed her to open it up to confirm everything they'd already heard. Hogwarts was real! So very painfully real! It had to be real if it was written down on paper with such a fancy wax seal on it, of that Callie was very much certain. Surely nobody would print lies and cruel tricks on such fancy paper! After quickly skimming the contents of the letter Callie passed it to her parents to read whilst Callie's attention was once more diverted back to Nora.

"Cake? Where's the cake! I don't see any cake! Are you playing tricks on me again Nor-" Callie's accusatory babbling was cut short by the expanding box which caused the girl to squeal in sheer excitement. The gesture was enough to jolt Adrian awake, who seemed somewhat excited at the prospect of cake. "HOW DID YOU DO THAT?" Callie yelled with a wide grin across her face as she inspected the contents of the box. "Can I do that? I totally wanna learn how to do that! I can do that right? Right?" Callie babbled as she stuck her finger into the icing, leading to a swift telling off from her mother who swatted her hands away. Shortly after Callie's mother left the table to grab a couple of candles and placed them onto the cake before lighting them.

Before her family even had the opportunity to sing happy birthday Callie quickly blew out the candles and starting pestering her mother to cut the cake so she could start eating as quickly as possible. Her parents obliged with a laugh and it wasn't long before Callie was armed with cake and frosting all over her face. The girl was by no means a neat eater and that certainly wasn't about to change anytime soon. "That's your wand right? Do I get one of those? Do wands come with more cake? Man, I hope there's more cake..." She trailed off as her mother wiped her face with a napkin, only for Callie to get even more frosting on the tip of her nose seconds later.

Hjørdis quirked an eyebrow, rather amused at her cousin's words. It was random but that was not what amused her. It was trying to work out how Callie got from controlling their abilities to turning herself in a frog and wondering why that was the example she chose. Children had a wonderful mind. Full of curiosity. But she chose not to say anything. Perhaps one day, she would actually see the young Callie Jensen become an animagus and willingly turn herself into a frog. That would be quite the sight, if that were to truly happen. It would be quite a few years off, however, if at all.

Silently, she waited for everyone in the room to process the words that she was saying. It was a lot to take, no doubt, but she was patient. She had been in their very shoes some years ago. Well... quite a few years ago. For her, it was her mother telling her when she was seven. Despite the years that passed, she would never forget the day.

Everything else happened so quickly. Callie was perhaps one of the more energetic, lively family members that Hjørdis actually liked. For the most part, she preferred the quiet, calm ones. But Callie had her heart already and love was truly blind. She had gotten used to her younger cousin's rambles, enthusiasm and need to keep talking. It was not annoying to her. It was adorable. She laughed softly as she watched Callie's face light up - the excitement levels growing faster than the cake did, "In time, yes. You can..." Hjørdis responded. Within moments, the girl was ready to start eating.

Hjørdis just laughed a little bit more. She was glad to see that Callie was enjoying the cake that she had baked earlier. That was always rather nice to see. The smile on the young girl's face, that was why Hjørdis baked. Her grandmother had taught her to bake and cook for those smiles. Making people happy, through their stomach. It was the way to win people's heart, apparently.

"It is. You'll have to get one before school. And no, the cake has to be baked. I used a simple shrinking charm on it earlier and then just reversed it," Hjørdis explained, as though it was very simple. To be fair, it really was. These were earlier year spells that Callie would learn in time. But of course, she had spent around two decades practicing them.

With a smile on her face, she cast her eyes over the group, "So... any more questions?" She asked as she glanced over at the entire group, wondering if there was anything else that was playing on their minds. Though, she would totally take some cake and get to the birthday celebrations if not. She smiled softly. Perhaps this was a bit of a large bombshell to drop on people as soon as she arrived, whoops!

If the situation was so severe that it warranted the placement of a law invoking secrecy that was more than enough to convince the young girl of it's importance. Laws were long, boring and wrapped up in words Callie didn't quite yet understand but they were concrete. They provided a bottom line and if that bottom line was to swear secrecy about the truth of the world then that was simply something she'd have to follow. However Callie already knew that such a thing would be difficult. By her very nature Callie was an immensely curious soul who enjoyed shouting about her latest discoveries from the rooftops. These newest discoveries of magic and the mythical were the most fascinating yet but for the first time she couldn't scream and shout about them. The bold, brash and outgoing young girl for the first time would have to become a brilliant liar and conceal the truth when by her very nature she preferred to lay things bare. It didn't take much pondering for Callie to realise that learning how to do such things would prove difficult. Lying, deceit and concealment of information was an art form Callie wasn't at all good at. But she was willing to learn if it was the requirement for entry into this new world she'd found herself wrapped up in. "Gotcha!" Callie exclaimed with a wide grin after a few moments of quiet thinking. "My lips are sealed!" To emphasise her understanding Callie gestured zipping her lips shut only to burst into giggles a few seconds afterwards.

Upon noticing the letter was addressed to Callie her father slid the document across the table with a soft smile. Callie's parents were decidedly nervous about the entire thing but wanted nothing more than to see their daughter prosper. As much as the prospect of Callie leaving home to spread her wings so young scared the couple they knew this was a journey she had to take. It would likely be a difficult journey but it was Callie's to take and it felt wrong to rob their precious daughter of taking the first few steps on her own. When Callie was handed the letter she made sure to adjust her glasses to properly inspect the document. The young girl held the letter up to the light for a brief moment before the excitement grew too much and she tore open the letter. As she scanned the parchment Callie's eyes lit up and a wide grin slipped onto her face, her excitement being laid bare upon the table. Eventually Callie passed the letter forward to her parents who upon reading the document seemed to finally be convinced of Hogwarts and the necessity for their youngest child to breach into the unknown.

Concentration and control however was not something Callie was very good at. Not yet at least. The girl was still young, easily distracted and very excitable so learning that magic necessitated two things that seemed so foreign to her was a daunting prospect. If concentration and control were two things that were essential in avoiding wounding others Callie wasn't so sure she'd make such a great witch after all. However Callie's inner doubts were quickly forgotten about when Nora pulled out what appeared to be a wand which didn't look at all like she imagined. In Callie's mind a wand was meant to resemble those plastic things she saw so often in the shops with white tips at the top and bottom. Discovering wands seemed to resemble twigs was something that Callie found rather odd yet endlessly fascinating. "Is that your wand?" She asked curiously whilst inspecting the new tool Nora wielded. "Ooh! Is there different kinds of wands? How many are ther-" Callie's questions were cut off by the box suddenly expanding in size to reveal a sugary treat she simply couldn't resist..cake.

So like any eleven year old with a sweet tooth Callie was distracted from her questions and focused entirely on the idea of cake. The girl was so excited in fact that she wasted little time in getting stuck in and slipped some of the icing onto her finger, causing her mother to swat at her hand and head off to get a knife and plates. "Thats-" Callie paused a moment to lick the icing from her finger. "THAT'S SO COOL! I knew you were awesome already but I had no idea you were THIS AWESOME? You're like ..Houdini! But without the moustache and not nearly as funny looking." She asserted firmly as her mother reentered the room and placed eleven candles on the top of the cake, occasionally having to swat away Callie's hand as she tried to get more icing. Once the candles were lit Callie found herself forced into the worst possible part of birthdays..the dreaded happy birthday song. She utterly hated the apparent tradition as it only served to get in the way of her and the sugary delight laid out before her. To top things off her mother always insisted on taking photographs which only further prolonged the torture. However Callie braved the torture nonetheless and it wasn't long before she was happily satiated with a slice of cake.

"This cake is delightful BUT I have some questions." Callie waved her fork around as if she was trying to emphasise her point. "Most importantly how and when do I get one of those things to call my own because that is without a doubt the fanciest looking twig I've ever seen! Trust me, I've seen some fancy twigs in my time. One time I found one with a snail on it." Callie exclaimed as she pointed to the wand resting atop Nora's lap. "Also do you have a book I could read on this stuff? I bet I'll have to do some catching up to the rest of the kids who were born into this stuff..." She trailed off a moment to finish eating her cake, clearly enjoying the icing as some had managed to make it's way onto the tip of her nose.

A smile appeared on her face as she watched the younger Jensen. She had never actually anticipated there would be magic running through her father's side, as she had grown up to associate it with her maternal side. But of course, as she could not share the secret with the Jensens, likewise none of them could - if any of them even knew. Hjørdis could not help but wonder where it came from. Somewhere down the ancestry, Callie may have gotten it but it was a mystery to her - and likely to the family sitting around the table now by the looks of it.

Callie never ceased being adorable, not even for a moment - even in the serious conversation, she managed to pull off being mischievously cute. It was rather adorable, though she would probably not admit that any time soon. The cheeky looks made it harder for Hjørdis to be her usual stoic self around her. Patiently, she gave them time to read the letter and grow accustomed to the thought of magic being real.

In her blissful excitement, Callie had already accepted everything and instantly jumped topics from one to another causing Hjørdis to just chuckle at the whole scene. The Slytherin Professor did not even get a chance to answer the question about wand lore, which was a rather interesting one to her. Wands were not overly common where she grew up. They existed and people used them as tools but as an European invention, people preferred to go for wandless magic where she was raised. But the fact that different wands reacted to the specific person and had different lore behind them was rather fascinating.

The younger girl cut herself off as she watched the cake box expand, seemingly far more distracted by that. Her eyes snapped to examine the expressions of her uncle and aunt's, not wanting to overwhelm them but also showing that magic is real and they did not have to simply take her word for it. She chuckled softly, "I would like to think I'm far more beautiful than Houdini but I'll take it," Hjørdis accepted the rather odd compliment.

Cake was quickly served, a song was sung and her aunt took far too many photos but it was rather adorable. A part of her wished she had more photos of her family. She had some albums, of course but they never seemed enough. Taking a slice of cake herself, she nodded as she listened to the questions that the younger cousin had.

Another laugh escaped her lips. If anyone could make her laugh, it was Callie Jensen. "A wand is a little more complicated than a twig with a snail, Callie! I honestly have no idea how many different kinds of wands there are but yes. Each one is unique. They different in many ways, such as the length, wood and the core itself, and it's said that they wand chooses the witch. You'll have one that's unique to you. We can go shopping for it in the summer," Hjørdis replied, going back to the earlier conversation about wand lore at the same time. She was pretty sure a wand maker would throw Callie out of the shop if she compared it the wands to a twig! Probably manage to insult half of them in one go but nonetheless, it was hilarious.

"There's quite a few students we receive each year in the same position as you, so you don't need to worry too much about it. However, yes, you will be required to purchase some textbooks for the year. One of them is all about the history of Hogwarts. I can bring you a copy of it earlier," She explained with a nod, understanding her need to learn more about the school. Hjørdis had done the same when she found out. She wanted to know absolutely everything about everything before she ever stepped foot into her own school. That part, they seemed to share in common.

Hjørdis swallowed a small piece of the cake, picking up another bite in her fork. Before she ate it, she opened her mouth to ask another question and then continued to eat, "I should probably head back soon though. Do you have any other questions?" She asked her relatives. If not, she would be able to post them more information but if they had anything pressing, now was their chance. She was pretty sure she had covered the basic information though. Callie, no doubt, had many more questions but it was more her aunt and uncle's questions that she wanted to ensure she had answered. Callie's questions would likely take the full seven years to answer! If she explained everything, what would the professors at the school do?!

You're A Witch, Callie PV Callie Jensen Fin
@Hjørdis Jensen
Much to her parent's dismay, Callie had made the decision that a singular slice of cake wasn't enough. Nor was two slices of cake, it was simply too tasty to have any less than three slices of cake. To have any less than three slices of cake was blasphemy, so naturally Callie was on her third slice of cake by now. The remains of the first two slices of cake decorated her face and the tip of her nose, prompting her mother to pass forward a napkin to rectify the issue. Sadly Callie was not a lover of napkins and to her mother's dismay opted to clean the frosting across her face with her tongue. It was simply too tasty to waste on a napkin! Cake that good had to be eaten in it's entirety! Especially considering the cake was made by Nora. Callie rated her creations extremely highly which was high praise coming from a girl who had such a strong sweet tooth. In this regard Callie's praise was the highest of all.

Cake related antics aside by the time Nora started talking about wands, Callie was already halfway through her third slice of cake. The news that the wand tended to choose the witch was strange to Callie and plunged her into deep thought for a moment. Was the wands sentient? Were the wands planning a secret revolution to take over the world? If she was kind to the wand would it spare her in their violent uprising? Naturally such insane ramblings weren't long in tumbling from Callie's mouth. "But twigs with a snail on them are so cool!" She defended rather quickly with a bright smile across her face. "If the wand chooses the witch, as you so claim..." Callie pointed her fork accusingly at Nora, although her smile gave away her lack of seriousness. "Does that mean they're planning a wand revolution? You know, like the robot ones in the movies? Gah, dad this is just like the Alexa all over again!" Callie exclaimed rather loudly.

"For the millionth time Callie, the Alexa isn't planning an uprising! Lord, you watch too many movies..." Callie's mention of the Alexa gained her a bout of laughter from her father, who wasn't at all convinced that the device was planning an uprising like his daughter claimed. When it first arrived in the household it caused quite the stir, especially with Callie who even to this day made a point to say please and thank you to the device.

Before Callie could protest against her father's argument her attention was quickly grabbed by Nora. The news that there was an entire class dedicated to the history of the place was reassuring, especially since Callie wanted to know as much as possible. For Callie the place held an aura of mystery and wonder around it, something which was incredibly keen to break past and find out more about. If the place was as old as they claimed, surely a fascinating tale of two had to be hidden within it's walls! "History that ISN'T boring? See Dad, I told you it existed!" Callie was once again only met with her father's laughter, prompting her to stick out her tongue at the man. "Well Miss Nora Jensen." Callie pointed her fork accusingly at Nora once more. "I have like...a million questions! Maybe even a trillion! I think that's a number? Anyway, I think it would take me at LEAST ten years to even ASK them let alone get the answers..so you're free! For now!" Callie lowered her fork down onto the table. "I feel like I need to get a lamp and interrogate you like in those old police movies..you know the ones where they're like YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!" Callie burst into laughter at the idea and nearly fell off the chair in the process.

While Callie stuck into the remains of her cake the looks of confusion across her parent's faces seemed to have entirely disappeared. As terrifying as it was the world their daughter was being thrown into was entirely real and not as fictitious as they previously thought. Under normal circumstances they may have even been opposed to the idea but these circumstances were most definitely abnormal in nature. Besides if Nora was involved that put their worries at ease since they'd always trusted the woman. That trust wasn't about to disappear anytime soon, even if she'd kept things hidden for so long. Nora always had her reasons so they weren't going to hold anything against her. The Jensen's weren't the time to hold a grudge anyway, they were simply too happy go lucky for such things.

"BUT!" Callie suddenly piped up again. "I do have one question." She announced with a wide grin having entirely finished off her third slice of cake. "Can I give Jeger a treat? We have tonnes of them in the kitchen! Come on, he's so cute! How can you say no!" Callie brought herself off the chair and slowly moved closer to the kitchen. Growing up on a farm had made Callie a complete sucker for animals, especially ones as adorable as Jeger. How could anyone say no to something so cute, anyway?
