The Slytherin Table 2020-2021
Clearly I'm not wanted here. She muttered. She finished her meal, which She was on second at this point, and slid down to a different section of the table.
How could a day go so wrong so fast? Her cheeks still flushed with embarrassment and her obvious faux-pas. She felt like she wanted to cry, but refused to do so in front of so many other Slytherins. She buried her head deeper into her arms and sighed. Ever so softly of course. Dinner would be over in only twenty minutes. Surely she couldn't hold out till then. It was only twenty minutes. Ugh! She was a clear embarrassment tho the Palsorette name.
She thought about his cruel words. He must hate her or something. Regardless of if he hated her or just strongly disliked her, she'd stay out of his way. Asher this, she didn't feel like breathing another word to him if she didn't have to. A loud clatter of plates from the Gryffindor table is heard. They're often the ghost to finish, so dinner must be over soon. Thank Merlin! She glanced back up at the clock. Only ten minutes till. Okay. Only ten minutes. She knew that there were sixty seconds in a minute so she started counting. It was an old habit she had with herself to pass the time when it felt excruciatingly long. One, two, three. She was going to be alright. Four, five, six, seven. She whispered the numbers as she counted so nobody else could here them. Eight, nine, ten, eleven. She never said the numbers too fast, but she didn't drag them out either. Twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen.

The Slytherin Table 2020-2021
[quote]Henry watched the first year slide down the table to another part and Henry was having mix feelings about the interaction, while he didn't agree or understand her views he also didn't want to make the young girl cry or upset. Henry watched her for a few minutes and she seemed to be crying with her head buried in her arms and now Henry was having a bit if a problem as he was told all his life that those views were wrong or backwards but here was someone saying them like she was told they were right or correct. It's funny now different pureblood students actually are, others may think that their all the same but their actually not since they all learn different rights and wrongs and enter a place like this without even knowing that there are others who have different views than you or see yours as wrong.
Henry about going over and apologizing but Henry was also the laughing stock of slytherin and he barely had any slytherin friends so maybe it won't matter or maybe he should just sit there with his thoughts focus on his hidden life and family. It was there that Henry wished to be a hufflepuff or ravenclaw because then he would have someone to talk to about these types of things. Instead he was a slytherin and knew no one, so he scanned the table for someone who liked him a bit or didn't hate his guts or call him names and somehow he settle on Cash who he knew that the two had quite a lot of interactions so Henry slid over to them.
" Hey Cash, mind if I ask you something?" Henry waited a few minutes before speaking again " remember that first year? Even through she has backward views, I still feel bad especially if she's crying, sort of. I mean her views are still backward, is that bad that I don't feel terrible about what I did to her or said to her?"

When Henry snapped at the new girl, the green eyes girl want to clap so badly. At some point Cash know that Katie will say something wrong and pissed Henry off. "It is nice to see you again too, mate!"Cash answered. "My summer? Eventful"The last bit they stated with distain tone.
"I mean, my parents betrothed me to some other pureblood kid. Delightful, is not it?"Cash told Henry. This is the first time that Cash told someone else that is not their close or best friend. Then Katie spoke about blood status and blood purity and listen to her words, make Cash blood boiled.
"You sure your not an Ironwoods?"The green eyes girl ask Katie in playful manner. "My dad would be proud to have you as his daughter instead of me"Cash smirked. Cash themselves did not care that much about blood status and all of that entails with it. A strong and vicious comeback come out from Henry mouth.
Cash listen to what Henry said and silently agree with Henry. Though Cash did not like being a middle man, being unwelcome at your own house isn't something that Cash want to feel and let alone a new girl that could be it is her first time knowing that magic is definitely real. "Why don't you go hang out with people who share your awful views and leave me alone, Katie."The harsh word that Henry said to Katie some what uncalled for.
Sure, nobody use the term of mudblood these day but Henry outbursts was uncalled for. With that Katie slide into a different section of the table. Cash want to called out the first year but they have reputation to maintain. Cash can see Katie try hold in her tears. She did not want to cry in front of other Slytherin. If she cried, she will be a laughing stock for sure.
Cash then watched Katie buried her head into her arms. Whether Katie was crying or not, Cash did not know about it. One of Cash's friend about to talk to them but Henry beat him to it. "Hey Cash, mind if I ask you something?"Henry asked the female serpent. Cash nodded their head.
"Remember that first year? Even through she has backward views, I still feel bad especially if she's crying, sort of. I mean her views are still backward, is that bad that I don't feel terrible about what I did to her or said to her?"Henry inquires Cash. It looks like his has inner debate with himself.
Cash quiet for a bit, to digest all of Henry words and his question. "I agree with you,"Cash stated "And yeah her views are backward but you see one student is different with another"Cash mention. "I know some people who share her views and some people shares the same like you"The green eyes girl said carefully.
They did not want to picked any sides. "About is it bad that you do not feel terrible about it, well it is back to you"They stated. "And beside you just saying what you feel about that topic and she also has her own opinion"Cash said.
"At the end it is depend on you. In this situation, both of you have different views and I think that is okay. It is not like we always have to agree with what people said, you get me?"Cash conclude and look at Henry hoping Henry understand what the purple hair girl said.@Katie Palsorette | @Henry Knight

Amara pokes at her food. She should be excited, should be happy to be back, but after the eventful train ride with Anastasia, all the blonde can think about is the darkness clouding the older girl. She looks up, realizing a whole conversation is going on around her. Two fellow second years, ones she knows but not well. A girl slides over to her, a girl who was spouting off some blood-elitist bullcrap a moment ago.
"Who do you think you are? This is not the Slytherin of 20, 30 years ago, and trust me, some of the strongest, most powerful people in this house are muggle-borns; people you do not want on your bad side."
Noticing the girl's face, tears welling in her eyes, Amara nibbles on her lip, "That came across harsh. Amara Dragamior, you are?" Amara looks back down at her meal and pops an olive from her salad into her mouth. Swallowing the rich oil, Amara glances around and hears snippets of conversation coming from around her. On one end, a conversation about being betrothed and on the other, a re-telling of the Hufflepuff v. Drumstrang Quidditch match. Tucking her honey blonde hair behind her ear Amara takes one last bite of her food before pushing it away.

Alice walks in a little late to the party, confused about where she might sit, taking a seat not to far, but not to close to the commotion that is going on. She sat down, and began to eat her strawberries. She just barely caught the last thing that was said, Though she completely agrees with the girl that just said it wasn't the same as 20 years ago, She gave an almost silent chuckle to herself and thought That's for sure, things have changed since then, things always change, they never stop changing, they will never stop changing. Will I continue to change as time goes on? Or will I end up like all the elderly people I know? Stuck and mindless in their opinions. I'm going to try and be the person that keeps changing that's for sure." She wasn't super interested in getting into controversial conversation first thing after being sorted."So anyone like to actually eat here? orrrrr am I in the wrong place?" She kind of mumbled to herself after observing that some of the others were barely touching food. Alice knew it was a bad time, and all the electric feeling in her veins was almost unbearable now, "What I get to relax for two minutes and i walk in on this energy in here, and now its depressing." she thought to herself bowing her head over her plate taking deep breaths with her diaphragm. Closing her eyes and put her elbows on the table to put her hands on her head. She calmed herself and started to eat her strawberries again, enjoying the sweet flavor of the juicy red fruit in her fingers. "I guess I just got here at a bad time, to bad." She said allowed, not realizing how loud she was actually speaking. She looked over to the pretty blonde girl. She decided after her last strawberry to try and interact with someone. She moved a little closer so she wouldn't be yelling at people. She decided to speak to the girl. to Amara she said "I didn't hear much of what went on, but I totally agree with you. Things aren't the same as they used to be. personally everyone has their own opinion, but I agree with your's. Oh by the way, my name is Alice." She hoped that this wouldn't be a terrible encounter, she wasn't looking for trouble. She almost wanted to apologize for bothering her, but she figured that probably wouldn't help her with anything. "I hope to have lots of different experiences here. everyone seems interesting, in a good way of course." She hoped she wasn't rambling.

Back in the jungle, Leonard thought, approaching his house's table. Though there were some refined types among the rabble, it was mostly composed of such animals, even if they were animals that knew how to speak, read, pick up objects and perform magic. Some were nicer, like golden retrievers, a smile and cheery demeanour always stuck on their face, charisma personified. There were those who matched their house's emblem, brash lions and intelligent eagles, along with the cold, cunning snakes that he'd met in the common room. And then, there were those who were less than animals in his view. Not for the purity of their blood or whatever some judged others by, he really couldn't care less about their parentage unless they were the Minister or an assassin sent to decimate him. It was for their lack of drive, lack of self-awareness, and sometimes, he just didn't like them.
Last year had been a very successful failure, to put it in words. While there had been some connections made, connections he'd definitely like to keep, the plan for the ultimate Hogwarts experience hadn't worked, for the most part. Those that hadn't involved other people had worked fine, evident by his good enough grades good enough reputation with the owls. However, those with people? Absolutely horrifying. No matter, this year, he'd start it off with a smile.
"Hello, fellow serpents!" He waved to the lot, ignoring the quite obvious tension between just about everyone in the vicinity. Fake it until you make it, as always. "Henry, Henry, mate, how've you been? Eventful summer? I had a wicked time in Dublin."
The boy turned to the new faces, grinning widely. "Don't recognise any of you. You first years, or have I just not have the pleasure of having a previous encounter?
Leonard leaned into the other boy, the only familiar one of the bunch. Even if he'd deemed the lad as annoying, after some disastrous attempts at friendship the year previous, he'd quickly learned that one could not pick and choose who would decide the fate of your social life.
"Erm, what exactly is happening here? Is she crying?" He gestured not-so-subtly to the seemingly younger brunette girl, who looked as though her puppy had died and sat next to his supposed 'mate'. "Henry, I'm not good with crying children. Or crying in general. Or children, in general. Help me out here."

@Henry couldn't help but smile and lower his voice as he spoke to Cash, " betrothed uh? My father's family did the same to me, sadly," Henry then listened to Cash's advice before adding " thanks I think I will, but probably back in the common room," still with a lot on his mind Henry really just wanted to be alone for a bit but he still managed to speak to Cash" are you still trying out for beater then?" Henry waited for a sneer before adding " I'll see you around then Cash, I think I'm going to head to the dorm now."
However his plans were quickly ruined as he heard his name spoken by another, this time by a male whom he recognized to be Leonard Oaksworth; a fellow second year in the snape dorm with him. Henry didn't much enjoy the boy's company and found him to be rude or hot headed sometimes but still he was good at faking things as he answered his first question " Hello Leonard, my summer was fine? What about you, mate?" Henry wished he didn't end almost every sentence with 'mate' but it was from habit as he then spoke this time referring to Katie " just normal slytherin stuff that's it," why did Henry not feel surprised that Leonard wasn't good with children or crying as he spoke again " yeah sure, mate. I'll help those two."
Henry referred to two other slytherin girls that he hadn't seen before primary because he spent his first year avoiding other Slytherin's and their common room, mostly in favor for the library as the twelve year old geek slid down the table a bit he acknowledged the two girls first as he spoke " hello," before turning to Katie and whispering to her " sorry about some words that were said earlier," reaching in his robes and pulling out a chocolate frog that he then passed to her " here, to make up for the past." Henry then moved a bit back to his original seat.

The Slytherin Table 2020-2021
‘Survival of the fittest' is the most accurate term to describe the House of Slytherin. Arissa found herself approaching the said house’s table, her eyes were glancing warily at its occupants - some were chatting, some seemed indifferent yet acknowledged her with a nod, while others were smiling and formally welcome her into their house as she sat down - which she returned with her own as she thanked them. As she nibbled on her food - a delightfully creamy and loaded mashed potato, her eyes discreetly gaze at her fellow First Years, which had different expression on their faces. From what she could see, while most of them seemed happy, others looked…downcast. Extremely terrified. Disbelief. Perhaps thinking about whether or not they can survive in this house filled with serpents.
Arissa shared their sentiments - while she was proud of her abilities, but compared to the older students, she was but a baby snake. Too easy to be…devoured.
If you, somehow, make it onto Slytherin, remember to not show any weakness. That’s what her mother said before she boarded the train. And that’s exactly what she did right now. Observing, yet didn’t get herself involved. And of course, she came by a rather…unusual scene, which ended up with the girl her age crying and moved to another seat.
Raising her brow, she muttered, “I definitely hope that this scene didn’t occur often.” If it did, then she had less time than she anticipated to prepare herself. Her remark however did earn her weird looks from who had apparently lowering their heads while eating, and amused looks from those who knew what she's talking about. Thankfully, it only involved those sitting besides her and in front of the three of them. Ignoring the looks she received while maintaining her poker face, she slides a plate of classic chocolate Eclair to the student sitting on her left, who was still staring at her. “Oh my, you have yet to try this delightfully rich Eclair, it would be a waste for you to ignore it. Enjoy.” If she was more shameless, she would shove the food down that person’s throat, but for now, that’ll do. Then she looked down and proceed to eat her own food, though she could still feel the stares from others.
Thankfully, all the attention on her were shifted when a voice boomed. “Hello, fellow serpents!” A boy older than her, with an average build, were waving in her direction, which mostly filled with First Years. Another unusual scene, but this time, she didn’t hide the amused expression on her face. Well, at least she’s not in the spotlight anymore.

The Slytherin Table 2020-2021
Emilia sat near the back of the Slytherin table, keeping to herself. Emilia let her guard down for a second and gave a soft sigh, she could not wait until supper was finished so she could go back to her dorm. She was upset because she was having major difficulty making friends within her house and the other houses didn't even look her way when she passed them in the halls. Emilia realized what she was doing and she put her guard back up, hoping that no one noticed her being anything less than the perfect Pure-blood that she was raised to be. Emilia pushed her thoughts to the back of her head, and begin to look around the table. Emilia hoped to find someone that seemed to be reserved like herself, after searching and failing for five minutes Emilia gave up and began to fill her plate. Emilia took some mashed potatoes, a chicken wing and some carrots, once her plate was full she began to eat, while still trying to focus on finding a new companion. She quietly ate her food and kept her head down, she could feel some tears gathering in her eyes as she ate. 'what is so wrong with me that I can't even make a new friend on my first day', she thought as she finished her meal. Emilia blinked back the tears and made sure that no one noticed them as she sat and waited for supper to come to an end.

Interacting with @Emilia LynchTired. Maybe moody. The young redhead sighed as she entered the Great Hall to sit down at her House table. Dressed in her usual Hogwarts uniform, painted with silver and green, Nico let her eyes scan her.. most of them... new peers.
The dhampir wasn't fond of her own House students. She found it hard to trust them after.. things that had happened. It shouldn't influence her mindset as it didn't right now. As she didn't see too many familiar faces, the child decided to sit at the end. Not much of a decision as she usually preferred to sit near the more quiet types. The ones that kept to themselves. However, today her eyes fell on a youngling, a first year.
Maybe it was because she too used to be awfully afraid and alone. Ironically.. she still was mostly a person who chose to be by herself. Unless it was near her gingergiant or anyone she felt she could let her guard down. To be able to be yourself. To be liked for who you were and not for what you were.
How could the dhampir tell that the girl was having a rough time? Her bodylanguage and isolating from others was a big tell. Hesitantly, the young Prefect put her books beside her before putting some tasty chicken on her plate. Poking a piece with her fork, Nico pondered, trying to think how to tackle this situation.
Her iceblue eyes didn't dare look up at the girl but Nico would speak loud enough, making the First year aware that the dhampir was specifically talking to her. 'Haven't made any friends yet?' Her pale hand would slip into her bag for a moment, before pulling out a small plastic bag of tissues. 'Here. Don't think snot is much nutricious...' Letting the pocketsized tissues gently slide accross the table, Nico took another small bite of chicken.
