London Calling
Interacting with @Matrix Kaida

Her home in Windlesham Village of Surrey was only an hour muggle's time from London, not that she would have known that. She rarely used muggle transportation. Her home in Windlesham Village of Surrey was only a few seconds wizard's time from London (and anywhere else) thanks to the Floo Network. She knew the city, but she knew it from her perspective.
Recently Alina had met a new friend at Hogwarts, a first year named Matrix Kaida who seemed well versed in the world of travel. Alina had the finances to do so but with her father never really around much, it was something much neglected in her life. She had wanderlust and wanted to see the world and it was going to begin with Matrix Kaida's view of the capital city of England.
They had both gotten permission to go and they were to meet in London. While she was able to use the Floo Network to get there, she still stood outside London's largest train station, London Waterloo, to wait for him. It was their meet-up place and Alina, always wanting to seem put-together, had gotten there early to be well prepared if anything might come up. She now sat along the wall of the entrance, notebook in hand and she sketched some of the things she saw within her surroundings as she waited for her fellow Hufflepuff and new travel companion.

Matrix would get of the train to London. He had come by train from Worcester. It was 2 hours long, but it was the fastest way he knew how to travel. He hoped he was not late as he came out from the train station. He would look around, trying to find Alina. He had gotten permission from the school to travel here, but it may be the only chance he would get in a while so he decided to make best use of it.
He would not see Alina in front of him so he would turn around. He would see the big sign of the London Waterloo illuminated. From the corner of his eye, he would see a girl sitting down against the wall of the building with a notebook in his hand. He thought it was Alina, but was not sure as she was looking down. He would walk closer and see that it was indeed her new friend. He would walk over to her with a big smile on her face. He would see that she was drawing something. “Nice artwork” He would say a little loudly. There where a lot of people and he did not want his voice to be drowned out. He would then realize that he may have frightened her, a random voice all of a sudden. He would take a step back, now directly in front of her. “Sorry if I frightened you” He would say grinning even more. “Have you been waiting long?” It was ten minutes till there meeting time, but she may have been here for a while as she was drawing.

She looked up to him and smiled, glad to see him there. Somehow she was slightly skeptical of him showing up because most people weren't big on being spontaneous the way she was. Most might think it would be fun to go travel somewhere with someone for the day but then not actually follow through with the execution of it all - but there he was.
Alina closed her notebook and quickly popped a lemon drop into her mouth before stuffing the notebook, her pen, and her baggie of candy into her bag before standing up. "No. Not long," she answered and presented him with a smile, still surprised and glad to see him.
"So tell me, what is on our itinerary for the day, Mr. Kaida?" He was her tour guide after all and she was eager to see HIS view of London. What was important to him and what did he want her to see? She was pretty sure that by the end of their trip to England's capital city, that she would not only maybe learn something about the city, but she would also learn plenty about her new Hufflepuff friend.
"Lead the way, kind Sir," she said and hooked her arm with his.

Alina would tell him that she had not been waiting long. Matrix would take a breath of relief. He had not wanted to keep his company waiting, especially since he was the one who suggested the idea. This was the third time he had been to London. The first was when he was born, second was when he was 8. He had stayed here for a little more than a month for the school break. He had forgotten a lot so he spent the past few days reading a lot in the Library.
Alina would then ask him the itinerary for today was. Matrix had wrote it down, so he could refer to it if he ever forgot. “How about we start with the Tower of London and eat lunch after that. From there we can go to the London Eye and we can go on it if you want to. After that, we can visit Buckingham Palace, and explore the area. From there we can go to the House of Parliament, where we can see the Big Ben. Depending on the time, we can eat dinner and be on our way?” Matrix would say, hoping that he could fit all of this. According to his calculations, he would be able to, but he was used to being awful at time management. “Do you want to go anywhere else?” He would ask wondering if he had missed out on anything that she wanted to do.
This was his first real trip without his parents, except for Hogwarts. He felt mostly excited, and nervous but also felt a little guilty that he was going on an adventure without them. That feeling quickly went away when he remembered that they where probably having a great time somewhere else. Alina would then hook her arm with him, and he would snap back to reality. He would smile really wide. He had found a new travel companion and a friend. Something he would of never had if he had stayed with them. “Then of to the Tower of London we go!” Matrix would say walking towards the tower. “If you want we can go on one of those double decker bus....or we could just walk” Matrix would say motioning to the bus that was about to pull in. He was not sure if Alina wanted to walk an entire 45 minutes when they could take the bus. He would be down for anything but was not sure if he could make his schedule work if walking took a long time.

"Sounds good. Tower of London, London Eye, and Buckingham Palace sounds great," she gave a small smile to her friend as they headed on their way. "And you said you enjoyed muggle transport, yes?" she lowered her voice so not to be heard by others surrounding them, "so we'll take the Underground," she said of the subway system that ran in the capital city of England.
Without even having to look at any map this time, she walked with him, sort of taking lead because after all, her town was close to London and if truth be told, she had been there countless amounts of times. She had seen the Tower of London and even been inside Buckingham Palace to have a dinner with the queen. Still, she would see it all again if it meant spending time with a friend because life was lonely these days.
She led him down some steps into a subway station where she already slipped him a small card to use as his ticket and they got on the District Line to head toward the Tower Hill tube stop where they would get off. This would make a 2-3 minute walk now as opposed to 40 minutes of walking.
Muggles and their technology still fascinated her. In fact that very Christmas she was going to ask for one of their cellphone devices but now there was no need. There was no one she had to contact with one anymore.

Alina would confirm that Matrix preferred muggle transport and would suggest they take the underground subway. He had completely forgot about it when it is an integral part of the transportation in London. She would began walking towards the station. It seemed that she knew exactly where it was without checking the map. “Have you been to these places before?” Matrix would ask. He really hoped she had not, as going to the same place twice must be really boring. Though because of how popular the city of London is, he doubted this was her first time, especially how she knew where the closest subway station is in such a big and crowded place.
They would reach the subway and Alina would give him a small card that acted like a ticket in order to use the subway. Matrix would feel a little guilty that Alina was spending her money on him when he should of planned this better. They would get on the district line. It seemed to be a busy day as there where no seats open, but Matrix was okay with standing.
They would reach the Tower Hill stop and Alina would get off and Matrix would follow suit. They would walk to the Tower of London, which barely took 5 minutes. He had already bought the tickets online and would of printed it off before he had arrived. He would hand one to Alina and give her a smile. “In we go!” He would say walking through the entrance. “This building has a lot of history.” Matrix would say looking around intrigued. He would proceed upwards towards the execution block. Hundreds of people met their ends here. Though it was dark history, it intrigued him.

"Okay, confession, I might have been here a time or two but that doesn't mean I've been here with you to share the experience with. Therefore, its a new adventure," she assured him and truly believed it.
And truth too was that she had never gone inside the Tower of London before. She had walked passed it and sat on the benches near the purple lavender while she and her sister enjoyed their Mister Whippy and she had seen the ravens walking about the tower grounds. In never being inside, she had neglected to really learn about it's immense history. The tower had served as an armory, a treasury, a menagerie, the home of the Royal Mint, a public record office, and the home of the Crown Jewels of England.
"I hear they say there could be ghosts within these walls," she said. She knew of the Fat Friar well because that was the Hufflepuff ghost at Hogwarts, but she wondered if the stories of this place's ghosts were true. It was said that the White Tower, Anne Boleyn had been seen carrying her head under her arm. There were other ghosts rumored to be there too like Henry VI, Lady Jane Grey, Margaret Pole, and the Princess in the Tower. There was also a guard who once said he saw the apparition of a bear advancing toward him and it was said that the guard died from fright days later. Also, there had been sightings of glowing apparitions."

Alina would tell Matrix about the many ghosts that seemed to be here. “I wonder if we will see any” Matrix would say quietly. He saw a family in front of them and was not sure if they were Muggle or not. He did not want to take any chances as the consequences could be severe. Going back to the topic of ghosts, he wondered what, if any, requirements where needed in order to see ghosts outside Hogwarts. He had never seen a ghost before coming to this school. Perhaps there is a spell, or maybe his magical blood was enough.
His questions where soon answered when he saw a woman, about 4 meters in front of him. She seemed normal at first, but when he looked closer, he would seem to see almost right through her. He was not sure if it was just him, and his mind playing tricks on him so he would slightly nudge Alina’s elbow, trying to get her attention. “Over there, in front of us” He would mummer, nodding slightly in the direction. “Is she a ghost?” Matrix would ask. It would be kind of embarrassing if she was not one.
He would then turn his attention back to the tower. He would of finished looking around the tower. He would wait for Alina to finish, “Want to move on to the Crown Jewels?” He would ask. “I heard there are over 20,000 of them!” He would say recalling something he read in a article on the Tower of London. “Of course we don’t have to see the whole thing if you did not want to.” He would offer, not wanting to bore her. He wanted to visit the iconic places of each landmark they went to.

"No, let's go!" she smiled to him. "I've never seen the Crown Jewels before," and that was the truth. "I wonder what it would be like to come from royalty," she said, thinking back on it. Of course it was probably different now than it was in the past with the royal family just being a bit of a figure head now.
They headed into the room where the Crown Jewels had been displayed since 1661 and they were simply dazzling, no matter who you were."Makes you also wonder who made them and how," she wondered if they must have been a wizard because everything was done with such intricate details and from so long ago - surely a muggle didn't possess such skills back them, but who knew. The muggle world amazed her at what they could achieve without magic. "I think the Sovereign's Orb is my favorite," she told Matrix.
And this is why she wanted him to plan the trip to London, although not far from where she lived - she got to see his perspective on it, she got to visit a place she had never been inside, and she got to see things she had never seen before. Sometimes it wasn't until you looked at something from another's point of view that you got to see things differently.

Alina would tell him that she had never been to the Crown Jewels before. Matrix would sigh in relief. At least there was something about this trip that would be new for her. Matrix would walk straight to the oldest object there was, a spoon. It seemed to have been made in the 17th century. It wowed Matrix that such a piece had survived this long. Alina would comment of her wonder of who had made such stuff. Matrix would nod; he did not think that it was made from magic because as far as he remembered, witches and wizards were completely outlawed. He wondered what kind of safe haven was given to them. Alina would say that her favorite was the Sovereign‘s Orb. He would walk over to it and look at the many details. “Yes, it is very beautiful.” Matrix would comment. “I would say my favorite is the Sovereign’s Sceptre” Matrix would say after a minute of thinking. There where many things here that interested him. He would continue to look around for some time.
Once Matrix had finished looking around, he would wait for Alina to be done. Once it looked like they had been everywhere in the Crown Jewels exhibit, he would walk towards Alina. “ If your done, we can move on. According to the schedule, we have lunch right now, if you are not hungry, we can proceed to the London Eye.” He would tell Alina in a quieter voice, not wanting to disturb the nearby people.
