Forward dated to September 2nd, 2020.
She felt bad if she kept coming back to the same thing in a conversation. Maybe they had talked too long and she was boring him now. "Maybe the entire Summer with them. Maybe eleven years with just them because Bella and I had a governess growing up and didn't attend school before Hogwarts." But at least he shared some about his family, although she was sad for what she heard.
The two headed out from the school's winding corridors to the Entrance Hall where they went to the grounds and began their journey more towards the Quidditch Pitch, if he still wanted to go there. She felt he should be shown by one of the top quidditch players by the school and not some girl scared of being on a broom, although with her dad being an recent owner of a professional team, she had gone to many a games throughout her childhood due to his love for the sport.
"I don't know if you and I have all too much in common but we do have the basics of that. Dead mom," hers died when she was seven, "far away sibling," with Bella now having transferred to Beauxbatons, "and my father isn't so much broken but he's always away. He's trying more now to be there but he was pretty nonexistent up until this past Summer."
She and Bella raised themselves with the basic needs met of the hired help. There were some they loved along the way but their grandmother had always found a way to drive them out. At least that was also until this past Summer. Things would be different now with her grandmother gone. So long as she stayed gone.
Alina wasn't sure if the boy next to her was growing tired of her company, or glad to have it. As a people person, she was quite glad to have him as a companion. "What made you storm out of your room?" That was the way he had worded it. One didn't storm out unless upset or there was a problem. Perhaps it was asking too much, but Alina wanted there to be no secrets between her and Logan.

We have reached my final destination, my holy grail, Valhalla... The Quidditch Pitch. We had finished our accidental meeting at the corridors and went over to the quidditch pitch.
It was as glorious as I had imagined. The giant stadium and the massive hoops which I assume where the goalposts that keepers had to defend. Everything was utterly incredible. Everything was breathtaking on its own but being heard with Alina just made it better. She knew everything about the wizarding world and I knew everything about the muggle world.
She asked me why I had storm out of my room. She didn't keep secrets from me so I should keep secrets from her. It just seemed right.I looked around down and let out a sigh. I had a grimace at the bitter memory."Before I left for Hogwarts, I was having a conversation with my dad about the wizarding world, which even at this point in time is all too crazy for me""He kept taking about how good it was and I sort of broke down because my mom died cuz of magic"I realized I was getting dark and I couldn't allow that. I let out a small chuckle"I... I got up and ran out of the room, down the stairs and started to sob outside in an alleyway"My grimace turned into a smile. I realized that sometimes sad memories can turn into happy ones."I guess you could say I was kind of a momma's boy""A few minutes later, my dad and brother found me and took me back inside"I turned back to make eye contact again with Alina."They agreed to give me some alone time so I grabbed my brother's old video games and began to play with them. Shooting people seemed to always calms me""I became an immovable mountain, but when I got on the Hogwarts Express, I guess the mountain just crumbled"

She smiled brightly because she could relate. She didn't like to show her weakness to other people. Alina always wanted to seem in control, confident. The truth was, sometimes she was and sometimes she wasn't. That was the age. That was life.
She looked to Logan and smiled, reaching up to brush a little of his hair from his face so she could really see those blue eyes of his. "You don't need to be a mountain, Logan. You just need to be you. The good, the bad, the ugly...because we can always work to improve ourselves so the faults don't matter so much as our strengths."
"I'm sorry that you have to be without her when you were so close," she continued. "It's hard to lose the ones you care about." Hard wasn't the word. Devastating. Heartbreaking. It left you with an agonizing emptiness inside begging to be filled but with no way of it being able to be mended.
A soft breeze blew and it reminded her that they were there just outside the Quidditch Pitch and she was with a boy that wanted to explore the world of quidditch. He probably didn't want to go in depth with his feelings and whatnot. "There's some quidditch supplies just over there at the practice pitch. We can get some and I can show you some of the basics."

Truth be told, taking about feelings and emotions was, is and will never be my strong suit. I was happy Alina was here with me. If she wasn't, the mountain wouldn't just crumbled, I would crumble as well. I thought a bit about what she said.I hadn't had anyone to talk to that had actually understood me but my dad, but he needed more time to fix himself than me. It was nice to have someone to take to, even if it was a girl."You're right. Don't let your faults define you. Just push through and focus on improving your strength"I said, grinning from ear to ear with a twinkle in my eyes. Alina and I proceeded to the area with quidditch supplies."Now that this emotional rollercoaster had come to an end. Let's talk about quidditch"All my anger and frustration seemed to wash away the longer I stayed with me."All I know about quidditch is that there are stuff called keepers, beaters, chasers and seekers. You fly around on broom and try to hurt each other. There's something about a golden snitch which I can't quite wrap my head around""What about you? What do you know about quidditch?"

"Well, I know the Montrose Magpies is the most successful team in the British and Irish League. and I know Puddlemere United is the oldest team in that league. I also hear the daughter of the owner of Puddlemere is quite amazing...just maybe not at explaining quidditch," she smiled widely because that would be her.
"So the chasers try to send the quaffles through the goal hoops, which the keepers try to block. If they don't, each goal is worth ten points. The seeker is in search of the snitch because it's not only worth 150 points but it also ends the game. The beaters are the ones who try to hit the bludgers to the chasers and seeker to prevent them from getting points." She hoped it made sense. "If I played, I think I'd want to be a chaser. I'm pretty good at getting the quaffles into the goal hoops," at least when no one was trying to stop her.
She got to a trunk and began to drag it out, then tossed on two old brooms on top of it. The trunk probably weighed at least double or triple her weight but that didn't deter her from trying to move it. They would need to take these supplies with them to the pitch to practice. "I guess maybe it's like most sports," she said with a bit of a shrug. "I never really played them myself. Most I've done is swimming, and only that just for fun." But she also liked to run and climb trees and such, but just not any official sport growing up the way so many played football or something.

She tried taking me through the rules which I was never good at listening to and obeying, but it was coming from her so I tried my best to understand them."The daughter of the owner of Puddlemere is pretty awesome"The concept of quidditch was still strange to me, but I was gonna understand it sooner or later."So I take it quaffle is a ball and the chasers try to throw them in the hoops to score 10 points. If the seeker caught the snitch, that would pretty much make any other effort null and void, right?"It was obvious that Alina did swimming for fun and never got exposed to stuff like soccer or hockey. I understood that she had some trouble carrying the trunk. I decided to just help her do it."I'm starting to think the muggle world has more sports than the wizarding world"I reached down to help her lift it and I grabbed it and started to move it towards the pitch."Need any help with that?"I said quaffle repeatedly and realized it was rather funny to say."Do many stuff in the wizarding world have funny names or is it just quaffle?""Onwards to the pitch!"

She thought about what he said with terms from the wizarding world. Quaffle, quidditch, butterbeer, but then again it really was no different to her than the normal British slang terms like dodgy, knackered, the loo. "To be honest, I think all words in English are rather odd, wizarding world or not. Of course, my native language is French and maybe I say that because it just comes easier for me."
But it had been a long time since she first learned English and so she knew the language well now. There hadn't been a time in a very long time that she had to stop to think of the right word. She was fluent now, more or less.
"It's a beautiful language," she said, speaking of French. "But I like to hear other languages in general. I thought at one point of trying to become a translator when I'm done with Hogwarts but I don't think I'm going to do that. Still, it might be fun to learn other languages as a hobby."
They made it back to the pitch and once he wasn't getting the trunk, she held out one of the school brooms to him. Quidditch, after all, required flying. "So we'll start with the quaffles," she said as she then unlatched the trunk and opened it. The balls were secured down. This was much like how her father's set looked at home...only his was less worn. He had shown her and Clifton some more about quidditch that Summer after they attended the Montrose Magpies and Puddlemere United game.
She unlatched them and took one in her arms before getting on the broom. Having already one year of flying, she was able to raise some off the ground. It was odd...she could be on a high building or in a helicopter and not be scared of heights but something about a small little broom made her uneasy, but she wouldn't show it in front of Aemadall. She wanted to be her strong, confident self.
"So you can either take one of those bats and try your hand at being a beater or you can grab a quaffle and try your hand at being a chaser." She watched him to make sure he didn't need any help with the broom either because it seemed he was rather new to the magical world and if he needed help with that, she was there.

I never wanted to learn other languages but it was rather involuntary because my dad was Russian and my mom was Scottish and neither one of them wanted me to embarrass myself in front of their relatives and friends."You're right. French is a beautiful language"My mind went back to the first time we met each other in the corridors which wasn't much cuz it was still today."I couldn't do something that requires concentration like learning languages... or drawing maps of a massive castle"
Truth be told, I didn't know much about quidditch or flying, until like a month ago. I watched as she took the stuff out of the trunk. I figured that like the muggle world, the wizarding world had quidditch fans for a different teams. I liked the concept of getting famous because of quidditch.I said as I got on the broom to start."I love the idea of flying around on the broom while playing quidditch for a crowd of adorning fans""From what I know, I think I'd be a beater because of my strength"I wasn't afraid but I didn't want to fall. I couldn't even ride a bike perfectly thus the scar on my arm."I think I'm pretty much ready. Just one thing, how the heck do I get off?"

"Okay, your grip is good," she said as she looked over his stature, agreeing that he would probably make an incredible beater with his build. "You'll want to push off, even, with both feet, and then sort of let the broom be in control. You'll control it by slight movements of your hand on the grip and the way you lean to the sides. Push off just softly so you don't go too high and get a feel for it. We'll add the quaffles into the equation after you get comfortable."
If he would. She never felt comfortable on a broom. Still, she wasn't someone who wanted to show her faults to someone, especially someone she just met. So she pushed off and got into the air a good eight feet perhaps. She looked down. This wasn't TOO dreadful, but then again she wasn't very high up either.
She figured that Logan would get the hang of this pretty quickly. Something about him just told her that he was a natural. He looked like the kind of guy who would play quidditch and play quidditch well. She smiled to him encouragingly. "If you fall, don't worry. I know where the Hospital Wing is," she teased.

I didn't know how to fly and being prideful wasn't gonna help anyone. She told me about the basic things like the grip, the lift-off and how to steer, all of which seemed way easier to do than I expected. I was still worried about falling but she said "If you fall, don't worry. I know where the hospital wing is"I said sarcastically as I smiled at her. I followed all her instructions and took a deep breath. I pushed my feet off the ground and willed the broom to go up... It did. I flew 8 feet off the ground and almost hit Alina's broom. I guess I was either good at following instructions or good at impressing Alina. Whichever one it was, I was happy."Thanks. That made me feel a lot better"
I looked down and felt excited. I wasn't even officially playing quidditch and I was happy. I felt like an eagle soaring through the sky and I wasn't moving. Alina, on the other hand, didn't seem to be taking it lightly. I got the feeling she didn't want to do this from the start and she was just trying to help me. That was a nice thing to do."This is incredible!"
