Team Red
Katrina watched from her hidden place as the red team raced to their next destination. Evelynn quickly found the clue and Saphhire and Ariana quickly put together the clue. CoMC, Care of Magical Creatures. The team was off in a blur, heading to their next destination.
When they arrived there, they would find one thing. A slip of paper.Team Blue
This clue was meant for May, but it seemed there was a daring lion in the group. Alan would step out from the group and approach the slack line. He seemed confidant in the air, making across with no trouble at all. One he was at the top, he would find that there was a hidden ladder on the back side of the tree for him to get down. If only they had spotted it beforehand.
Alan would find there was something written on the slip of paper. Something to lead them to the second to last clue.Hidden Clues
It seemed like the Hidden Clues were a bit too hidden this time. Maybe more luck would befall the teams next round.

Interacting with the Blue Team
Alan didn't fall. The Slytherin breathed a small sigh of relief, tucking her wand away. He didn't need to wonder if she'd doubted him. And she hadn't doubted him, exactly; it was more like a general concern because what he was doing hardly looked safe. If anything, she doubted the safety of the rope. The little knot of worry in her stomach dissipated entirely when he was back on the ground. Bridget wasn't scared of heights, but broom-riding was, in her opinion, significantly less sketchy.
Bridget turned her focus to the clue he'd obtained, squinting as if that would make the letters easier to read. It wasn't that she couldn't see them, but that they were weird--flipped, it looked like. A mirror would be awfully helpful about now, but she didn't have one, so she'd just have to put in the effort to read it this way. The cursive script didn't help, but eventually she managed. No one's posted, so assuming Bridget has access to the clue.
"This one is the Quidditch Pitch," she declared. Gesturing for her team to follow, she lead the way to the familiar Pitch, the place she spent a significant amount of her time. Even if they argued, she wouldn't stop; the clue left no doubts as to where it meant for them to go. Two teams? Check. People watching? Check. A whirr of gold? That was the Snitch. She couldn't recall the exact date of its inception, but Quidditch was an old game. As for the last line, she wasn't quite sure. Could it mean the hunt was drawing to a close, that this was their last destination? Or was it referring to the careful strategies put into place by Quidditch teams? Either way, she supposed she'd find out once she got there.

Alan took the piece of parchment and gave it a quick read, his brows furrowing as he couldn't quite decipher it. He would just give it to the team, perhaps someone could read this better or had a mirror with them of some sorts. The third year noticed the ladder but found that the slackline was way much more fun and decided to use the way he had taken up here to also get back down. It might have cost him a couple of seconds more but it was worth it. As he made his way towards the group he would hand the piece of paper to them. "Can anyone read this out loud?," he wondered as he tilted his head ever so slightly. He truly hoped someone would read it out loud now so that they could hurry up and possibly go to win a price.
If someone were to read what was written on the paper the third year would encourage the group to hurry and get to the quidditch pitch as this was what must be the destination of the slip of paper after all it was talking about a game with two teams and something golden with must have been a mention of the snitch. Also Quidditch was a pretty old game so Alan was sure that it could mean nothing else than that. "Come on, let's hurry!"

Care of Magical Creatures. CoMC. Of course. A mental groan — and very nearly an audible one as well — accompanied the revelation spoken by her teammates. There was little wonder it had sounded familiar, as though she should have known what it had stood for. Naturally, it wasn't as though she was anywhere near high enough a year to be attending that class to have the acronym be second nature to her, but neither was this the first time that she had heard of it. Aside from the fact that she had taken a peruse through the classes that she would be taking in future years, she recalled towards the beginning of the year an occasion of shareed chocolate frogs in teh Gryffindor common room when Vanes had spoken passionately about the subject. It had been his favourite, if she recalled correctly. Nevertheless, with the help of the others on the team, they sorted out the clue and made their hasty way over.
And they were doing well. At least insofar as Evelynn could tell. Clearly their deductions had been correct, as they were met with the existence of another slip of paper. Admittedly, she felt a tinge of disappointment that there wasn't as much to-do as there had been upon finding the target destinations ciphered by the other clues. There was also a vague haze of skepticism. Every other time, there had also been a flag on display somewhere nearby for them to grab. But this time... nought but the paper. On approach, Evelynn actually wondered if perhaps they'd gotten it wrong, and this wasn't anything but a scrap discarded by a wayward student departing from a Care of Magical Creatures class. Naturally, after stooping to retrieve the parchment, such notions were wiped clear. The writing on the note was backwards, and at a glance, it appeared to be a poem.
Had it been written in print, reading it backwards would have been a simple enough matter. Cursive was another beast, however. Evelynn was able to read it regularly, but backwards made the letters appear distorted and foreign. But, there was an easy enough fix for that. Turning the parchment over to the blank side, she held it up to the sun so that the letters would show through in proper configuration. Then she read aloud:"Well.. That seems fairly straight forward," she noted, lowering the paper, and flipping it over once more before offering it up in case anyone else wanted to take a look. Even before she'd finished reading it, she knew where their next destination would be. "Two teams, the stands, the snitch, Quidditch, and the cup tourney. Or maybe just strategy and game-play in general, for that last line. Sounds to me like we'd best wander off to the Quidditch pitch, though. And something tells me we'd best hurry on this one as well..""Students comprising of two teams
Watching friends live their dreams
A whirr of gold
A game of old
It was all prepared in an intricate scheme"
With that, she'd do as she had done until that point and begin veering off in the direction of the stated destination slow enough for the others to interject if needed. But if there would come no counters or objections, she'd soon break out into a sprint, hair whipping back from her face as she raced towards what was arguably her favourite place among the castle grounds.

The Race
Katrina followed closely behind the red team, a grin spreading across her face. It was the last clue, or, sort of second to last. This bit had taken the most planning out of it all, and she was ecstatic to see it all in motion. To set up this clue, she had to convince @ River Jemari to let her borrow two school brooms and take some time out of his day to supervise her club.
The red team arrived just as the blue team did. It seemed like her club was evenly matched. Not for long. People started to look around, spot the flag, but there wasn’t one to be found. Instead, Professor Jemari was standing with a broom in each hand a stone’s throw away.
Katrina emerged from behind the group and made her way close to the Flying Professor, “Welcome club, to the last clue of the hunt! I hope you all have enjoyed playing as I did planning and setting up. I’m sure you are all waiting me to hurry up and get to the point, but I have some ground rules to put down along with some explaining. “
“Adonis and Mars, you have been chosen for your skill on a broom. You will have to race one lap around the pitch and the first person to do so and grab their flag with the last message written on it from the center of the pitch,” Katrina pointed to the almost perfectly hidden flags in the middle of the pitch, “wins the first portion on the hunt. The second portion of the hunt, I still have to explain and will as soon as we have our clue winners, so hold tight.”
“In the air, there will be no spell casting, no bludging, and no foul play. It is just you racing to win. Without further ado, Adonis and Mars, get your brooms and take off when I say ‘go’”
Katrina paused a moment to let the two contestants approach River and mount their brooms.
“On my mark, get set, go!”
It wasn’t too hard of a challenge, and Mars took off at frightening speed. They zoomed across the pitch almost too fast to see. Adonis, however, didn’t mount his broom. “Adonis, hurry!” Katrina called at him, wondering if her instructions hadn’t been clear enough.
Mars continued to race around the pitch, two thirds of the way before Adonis had gotten into the air. It would take a miracle for Adonis to over come Mars’ progress.
Mars landed in the center of the pitch just as Adonis had gotten into the air. Mars had won the race. For their expert flying, Mars got the flag. As they picked up the blue flag, they would find that under it was ten marshmallow biscuits in small plastic bags, each sporting a name of one of the contestants. Under those bags was another bag, this one containing five serbert lemons, on that bag was the words, “for the winning team of the race” and another bag whose inside was hidden in tissue paper with the words, “for the hidden clue discoverers”.
As Mars inspected the plastic bags, Katrina waved the members to the center of the Pitch. “Congratulations Team Blue! You are the winners of the second ever scavenger hunt! For your hard work and amazing dedication to the game, you each get serbert lemons, in the bag that is labeled for the winning team. And as a surprise, everyone gets a marshmallow biscuit! Thank you all for participating in my hunt!”
As everyone went to find the bag with their name on the biscuit, Katrina took a step back to River. “Thanks for overseeing this! Want a marshmallow biscuit for my gratitude?” Katrina smiled and offered one in an unlabeled bag.
When the hubbub of everyone died down, there would be the mysterious bag left over. “Everyone! Don’t leave yet! Along the way, there were people who may have spotted gold coin looking things like this,” Out of her pocket, Katrina would draw out a disk identical to the rest of the hidden clues, “Get them out and talk to me!”Hidden Clues
This round seemed to make up for the lack of clues previously. Katrina had also put out a lot more coins as they neared the final stretch. In all, eight coins were found between the previous destination and the Pitch.
First to find a coin was Sapphire. Her shoe would have kicked it just as the rest of Red Team turned from the slack line. This coin was identical to the rest of the hidden clues, metallic gold spray paint covering a disk of cardboard a bit smaller than her hand.
May would be next to spot a hidden clue, it wasn’t too far away from the gobstones that had lead her team to this point. It was dug in mostly to a small mound of dirt, but when she brushed away the brown, she would find the gold staring back at her.
Bridget had been a big help to Team Blue so far, maybe it had been her concentration keeping her from finding a coin this whole time. But nonetheless, she would spot a coin as she tucked her wand back in her pocket.
Autumn would be next to find a coin, she may have been pretty quiet this whole time, but they didn’t keep her from helping her team in other ways, by discovering coins. This time, it would catch her eye from under a small pile of branches, not so subtly placed just off the trail.
Alan was next to get a clue, however it wasn’t him who discovered it. Tiger would bound off mid-way from the slackline to the Pitch and return with a coin clamped in his jaws. It seemed it wasn’t just members of the club that had found clues.
Ariana also found a clue, this one at the base of a tree a little ways off the trail. It had been in the tree, but it seemed a squirrel or a bird had knocked it off the perch and it had landed in the perfect spot to reflect yellow light right into Ariana’s eye.
Last, but certainly not least, Evelynn would discover yet another coin. This one she would find nestled in the grass, just outside the entrance to the Pitch. Another coin to add to her growing collection.

There had been little doubt in her mind that the pitch was the correct destination. The clue had been quite straight-forward, in her opinion, and as she traipsed across the grass with mounting energy, she could think of no way that it may have been misinterpreted. Her suspicions were all but confirmed just as they neared the entrance to the pitch when she caught a glint of gold.
With a furtive glance cast over her shoulder to see the progress of the rest of her team, she tried to adjust her path ever so subtly to allow her to arc around to the source. Sure enough, there, nestled in the grass as though put to bed in wait, was another of the strange little coins. She wasted no time in ducking, mid-run to swipe it up and pocket it next to the first one that she had found. That was two, now. Not quite as many as she might have hoped to have found, if indeed there was some sort of significance to them in relation to the game, but certainly more than nothing. Perhaps they'd actually find out their meaning soon.
She lingered at the entrance, turning gracefully on the balls of her feet and leaning back against the structure of one of the stands to await the arrival of the rest. A placid smile shadowed her lips. One that didn't at all do her excitement of anticipation justice. At the concurrent arrival of the blue team, however, it faltered to a neutral line. Until now, she'd almost forgotten that they were even participating against anyone else, so little had they seen the others. Their clues must have taken them on different paths; but they had evidently crossed. Did that mean this was the final one? The arena in which they would face each other head on to stake a final claim?
Waiting was no longer an option. Haste fueled action as she struck out again into the centre of the field, eyes casting about hungrily for any sign of a flag. There was none. What there was was a certain Professor Jemari standing in the midst of it all with a broom held in either hand. Only one broom.
Evelynn's lips pulled into a wide grin. This must have been her challenge. Another cursory glance back over the rest of her team confirmed that, yes, she was the only Quidditch player among them. If there was a broom involved, no doubt it had to be for her. Her heart's beat picked up in tempo at the thought of it. Already she could feel the wind whipping her hair back from her face to fan out like a flag of victory, red for the colour of their team. Although she wouldn't be quite so bold to suggest that she was the best flyer in the school, or likely even in the top ten, surely she could out-fly anyone present here. She couldn't lose.
Harsh the reality, then, when it wasn't her name called to champion their side, but that of Thorn. Unbidden, her brows creased in irritation, a dark gaze cast in his direction with a sudden and intense look of scrutiny. Him? Why him? Was she mistaken? Was he, in fact, a member of one of the other Houses' Quidditch Teams. A flash of jealousy threatened to rear its ugly head. In fact, his name may as well have been literal for the prick she had sustained to her pride. Even still, she said nothing and offered no complaint. Even the lapse of expression upon her countenance was quickly smoothed. This was a game of teamwork, she reminded herself. Despite the irritating fact that this last challenge seemed at face value to be in no way team oriented, she resolved herself to be a supportive comrade.
Licking her lips with baited breath, Evelynn watched as the Named Two strode forward to grab their brooms; and held it altogether as Walker readied herself for the call to GO! Her own muscles tensed, ready to spring. Perhaps a reflex from her times on the pitch awaiting the starting call of the whistle. And as the command came, she chomped figuratively at the bit. Then gnashed it angrily at the sight of an entirely still Thorn.
"What are you doing?!" She hissed, the heat of the competition and the more-than-little check to her esteem at not having been the one chosen causing her to take blow after blow for every second that passed as he stood statuesque. "She said go!" Why wasn't he mounting his broom? "You could still overcome them!" Well, she could have, at least. "Come on!"
It was just as her stomach started to plummet that he finally took action. But it was no use. Too much time had been wasted. The other team's champion had already completed over half of the circuit by the time Thorn had kicked off from the ground. All Evelynn could do now was resign herself to the loss and swallow the bile of bitterness. Perhaps it might not have been so bad had he actually been on the ball. But this had been a fallacy of embarrassment. When he touched down and the other team was declared the victor, there were no supportive words from her.
The only compensation was that the prize for the winners hadn't been a horrible loss. Granted, she did love sherbet lemons, and thought that to be a lovely treat. But as it happened... she loved sherbet lemons, and so had stocked up on them during her illicit trip to Hogsmeade not a week before. A win wouldn't really have netted her anything more than she didn't already have. The thorn of loss didn't sting quite so much with that revelation. Plus... there were the golden coins.
"So... what are these, then?" Evelynn inquired curiously, approaching Walker. Dipping her hand to her pocket, she pulled two such golden disks and rubbed them together. "I found two of them."

She was about to set off towards the clear destination of the last clue, but a glint of gold caught her eye. Curiosity overcame her, urging her to pause to check it out. Perhaps it was part of the scavenger hunt? Or maybe it was just something a student had lost. Upon closer investigation, it was simply a circle of cardboard painted gold. Not all that exciting, but she reasoned it was a part of the hunt; the coin had to be handmade, and considering it hadn't succumbed to the harsh outdoor environment yet, must have been placed there recently.
Pocketing the cardboard, she turned back to the task at hand, leading her team towards the familiar field encircled by stands. It was a race to the Quidditch Pitch. That much was obvious; it wasn't just the Blue Team heading towards the Pitch but the Red Team as well. Perhaps this was their last clue. If it was, there was no way she was going to arrive after the other team, so she quickened her pace. This was a competition, after all, and Bridget was not about to lose.
The other team seemed to have a similar idea and it was practically a foot race to the Quidditch Pitch. They arrived at the same time, and it appeared their last task wasn't simply getting there first. Instead, Katrina held two brooms. That meant only one of them would be flying, and considering Bridget had already had a clue, it wasn't going to be her. Who, then? Katrina announced it would be Mars. Were they on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team? Bridget wasn't sure, but she hoped so. Standing helplessly on the ground and watching her team lose didn't sound fun.
Luckily, Mars left no room for disappointment. The eagle zoomed around the Pitch, flying fast. Flying to win. It wasn't much of a competition, though, as the boy on the Red Team was slow to take to the air, much to the dismay of his teammate, Evelynn Decipio, Gryffindor Quidditch Co-Captain. Despite her shouting, he was much too late. Her team had won the game.
Prizes sounded nice. It was candy, sure, and would be gone soon enough, but it was the thought that counted. Besides, the thrill of winning was reward enough for the Slytherin. Then, Katrina mentioned golden coins, producing one from her pocket. So they were a part of the hunt. The brunette fished hers out, heading towards her friend to show it. "I found one as well," she stated, wondering how the simple circles were a part of the event Katrina had set up.

ReducioI apologize for being inactive last mod post. It took a bit for me to get my password pack, and I didn't quite feel comfortable or motivated before to post.Sapphire followed, quietly and tiredly after Evelynn to the quidditch pitch. Well, not exactly tiredly, but she didn't really feel like she'd done all that much. And anyway, she had literally no knowledge of quidditch, even though she was fairly sure her sister was (or had been) on the team.
Upon reaching the pitch, she was a bit off-put by the sight of a professor. Though maybe she should've expected it, she didn't really. The professor had two brooms in hand. It made a bit of sense given the clue, but she didn't know who would be chosen. Surely not her, since she was probably one of the least experienced people on the team when it came to quidditch. Based on the expression on Evelynn's face, she expected to be chosen. It was likely that she was a quidditch player. Sapphire wouldn't know, since she never attended games.
But instead of the girl, another person was called. Adonis Thorn, whom she was fairly sure she remembered from the previous scavenger hunt, though only vaguely. Her brows furrowed in mild confusion, since the tasks had seemed tailored to fit with the strengths of the individuals. She didn't know what Adonis specialized in. She didn't really know any of these people other than what they'd demonstrated on previous clues, and even then she didn't know much.
She decide she would just sit back and watch on this. That was exactly what she did as the two chosen people, both whom she recognized from the last hunt, came up and took the brooms.
Don't get her wrong. She was certainly quite competitive. But she was also mainly intrigued by the way this hunt was working out. It was different from the last one, with diffinative teams. At least, that's how it seemed.
While she may've had stronger curiosity compared to her usual competitive nature, she was still immensely disappointed by the fact that Adonis hadn't even taken off. Mars was off quickly. They seemed fast (although she didn't have much to compare it too), far along in the loop by the time her teammate even got on the broom. But they didn't stand a chance.
Her expression twisted into a frown. She'd silently agreed with Evelynn's words.
When Mars completed the loop, she sighed heavily. You've gotta be kidding me... she thought. It was a kind of embarrassing defeat.
She listened in silence as Kat explained the final information about the end of the hunt. She was about to leave, but she heard the mention of the hidden clues. Did that entail the golden cardboard token that she'd picked up? She spun back around on her heel, heading instead toward Kat rather than out of the pitch. "These things?" she asked, showing her coin. "What exactly is there significance? Not directly interacting with anything or anyone, per se, other than @Katrina Walker

Hidden Clues
Katrina could almost feel the ambient disappointment from the Red Team. All in all, no matter how they lost, the teams would be disappointed, it was just her bad that the disappointment all fell to Adonis. She made a mental note not to allow the fall to just one person next time. Katrina was still learning how to do all of this, it would be a bit easier with a staff team of some sort to help.
The members each grabbed their prizes. She had to admit, they weren't the best prizes, but there wasn't much she could do about it, she had to haggle with an older student and trade a few sketches of them for the candy, and there was only so much that a random older student would do for art. Thankfully, people didn't seem to be too down about the iffy prizes.
Katrina grabbed the remaining bag and walked off to the side. Evelynn, Bridget, and Sapphire were the first to head over to her, each bearing the hidden clues. "Just a reminder to head over here if you found a hidden clue, the gold disk things!" Katrina waved it in the air a little before turning to the onslaught of questions.
"So... what are these, then?" Evelynn was the first to come over, bearing two of the hidden clues. "I found two of them."
"I found one as well," This voice was Bridget's, Katrina waited a moment with no answer, instead waving over anyone else with a disk.
"These things?" Sapphire started, "What exactly is there significance?"
"I see you all are full of questions. So I dubbed these gold spray-painted cardboard disks 'hidden clues'. There were, I don't know, three or four dozen of them hidden along the paths each team took. I plan on gathering them up after don't worry, I wrote down their locations.
Anyway, I figured it could be fun having another aspect to the winning of the hunt! I see that you have two Evelynn, does anyone have three?" No one does... Katrina waited around a moment, letting the stragglers circle around her a little.
"So, if no one has three then my idea sort of flopped. I was going to give a prize to whoever had the most, oh I see you have two as well. So then, each person will get candy corresponding with the number of disks they found. Evelynn, for example, has two, so she would get two caramels! " Katrina smiled and tossed two out of her pocket in Evelynn's direction. "Bridget, I see you have one," from her pocket, Katrina would toss another caramel. "And Sapphire you have two?" Two more caramels would go her way.
"Everyone else, gather around and say your number of hidden clues and I'll give you the corresponding caramels!" One by one, Katrina dished out the caramels to those who discovered the hidden clues.
"You are free to wander and chat amongst yourselves. Since the prizes were only mediocre, sorry about that by the way, Team Blue feel free to gloat. But, you know, in a respectful way please,"

Mars had let themselves be pulled along for the majority of the end. Most of the events hadn't been their expertise anyway, so it was fun to watch their teammates tackle them with such success. It seemed everyone had a different strong suit, and the Ravenclaw was content to sit back with their arms crossed and let their feet carry them in the direction they were pointed.
But when they finally got to the Quidditch Pitch, there was a twitch in their muscles at the sight of the brooms. Ah, finally, their turn to shine. That giddy wave, preemptive butterflies rose in their stomach as Katrina announce a broom race. Hell yes. Mars snuck a glance at Adonis as they lined up to go.
At the signal, Mars' broom smacked up into their palm at their gentle command. Grinning, the wix mounted, sparing half a wave at their Flying professor before kicking off. They didn't spare a glance back, knowing that racing was as unpredictable as it came. Better to focus on not running into the stadium wall. They could worry about Adonis if he caught up to them.
Leaning down, they let out a whoop as they rounded the final bend, coming to a shrieking stop in front of their teammates.
Brushing a few sweaty strand of hair out of their face, they sighed, and then flashed a grin at their team. Ha, winner. It seemed like Adonis hadn't even lifted off the ground.
Gracefully accepting their reward, they pulled out their respective treats, munching on them as they handed the bag off to their nearest team member.
Mars swallowed, the taste of sugar on their tongue as they listened to Katrina's ending speech. It was good. They were glad they came, if not to simply rid themselves of the memories, distract for a while.
At the mention of hidden clues, the Ravenclaw reached into their pocket and pulled out the gold-coin shaped cardboard from earlier. Huh, so that's what this was for. Katrina was one crafty witch, hmm?
Dusting their hands off, they meandered over to her side, coin suspended between thin fingers.
"Katrina! That was amazing, I haven't gotten to race in- well, ever I guess. You said something about these things? What're they for?"
