Rish ran into the library and stared in awe. It was absolutely magical. Her Ravenclaw mother had told her about the library, one that she knew she’d love, and now she knew exactly what her mother meant. The long walls astonished her, and the number of books...
She LOVED it!
Some others stared at her in confusion, probably wondering why a Hufflepuff would be so excited.
Well who cared if she was a Hufflepuff, doesn’t mean she can’t love books as well!
Anyone who knew Rish well would know that she absolutely loved to read, after all, no matter if it was a storybook or one about history. But when it came to magic, she was ready to read anything.
That explained why this place was like a living heaven to her.
She looked up to the tall shelves, and her grin grew wider. She felt like running through its halls, looking for every book possible, but for some reason it didn’t feel appropriate. She wanted to make a good first appearance after all, unlike in her Muggle school.
So, she walked through the halls, still staring in awe, and her walk suddenly quickened to a slight jog. She just couldn’t help it, there were too many books to choose from!
Lost in her thoughts, Rish forgot about everyone around her, and suddenly she bumped into another girl who looked just as awed about the library as well.
We backed away from each other, and Rish chuckled nervously.
“I’m so sorry about that.” She said, scratching the back of my neck. Then, she beamed. She had a chance to make a new friend! “What’s your name?”

Miranda's awe-inspired tour was cut short by another student bumping into her. The other person, a girl slightly younger than her with long black hair and pink glasses, was quick to apologize. Then she smiled brightly and asked what Miranda's name was.

"I'm Miranda. Miranda Everest," she replied with a small half-smile. "Second year Ravenclaw." She had no idea why she added the second part in her introduction, but it seemed appropriate. "And you? What's your name?"

She glanced over as a collection of books toppled off the shelf next to her as she carelessly shifted her hand enough to unbalance them. "Yikes!" Miranda exclaimed, grabbing uselessly at the falling tomes. She managed to grab three, but several most still crashed to the ground. Muttering under her breath, she turned away from the other girl and crouched to start picking them up. Normally she wasn't so clumsy, but her attention often wandered enough for her to make truly careless mistakes.

This was a prime example of such an instance.

"Sorry about that," Miranda said apologetically, standing up with the books held tight to her chest. She slipped most of them back onto the shelf, although kept one that had caught her interest when she'd picked it up. "That was awfully clumsy of me."

Ashwaria entered with awe in the library and muttered under my breath"Wow!"Mesmerized by the room She walked around the shelves and started to search the whole library for the book She needed but couldn't find it. Ashwaria was devastated and said"I should probably sit down for a few minutes or so". Sitting while letting out a sigh she said"This is harder than I thought it would be"

Soon she got distracted and picked up a random book and started reading it for a few more hours when behind her two girls bumped into each other. Ashwaria got startled and turned around.
It was a black-haired girl and a blonde-haired girl who looked slightly older than her.
the black-haired girl said“I’m so sorry about that.”

The blonde-haired girl said"I'm Miranda. Miranda Everest," "Second year Ravenclaw."
"And you? What's your name?". "Yikes!""What’s your name?”They started picking up the books they had dropped.
Miranda said"Sorry about that, "That was awfully clumsy of me."
Hearing them Ashwaria felt like she needed to make friends she stood up and walked toward the two girls with a wide grin and said"Hi I am Ashwaria Nair, first ear Gryffindor and you are" waiting for their response hoping to make friends still holding the wide grin and holding her hand out for a handshake.

Ashwaria said "Hi do you know where to find these books I really need some help out here"

At the sound of yet another unfamiliar voice, Miranda almost dropped the book she was holding. Again. Yeesh, she seriously had to get a grip on herself, because this was ridiculous. In fact, she was surprised that the librarian hadn't shown up and banned her from the library after the first incident. Surprised...and lucky. Being kept from such a wealth of books would be heartbreaking, to say the least.

She turned to face the newcomer, the book now held in a death grip to prevent further embarrassment. "I'm Miranda Everest, Second year Ravenclaw," she replied with a half-smile, reaching over to shake Ashwaria's hand. A Gryffindor, then. Like her brother. Well, maybe not all that like her brother, seeing as she was in a library. Her brother would never be caught in such a place, not if he could escape it. He would rather spend his time playing pranks on fellow students or just causing a general mess.

"Which books?" Miranda asked, nodding. "I can probably help you with most, but if you want something really specific, you'll have to talk to the librarian. They know much more than I ever would, no matter how much time I spend in here." She lowered her voice. "Some students say she even sleep in here, which sounds ridiculous, but honestly? Not everyone is all that sure it's a fib."

Suddenly the blonde haired girl dropped her book, Ashwaria sigh and help her pick it up. She was pretty much scared because they were making a lot of noise and the librarian could get pretty scary sometimes.
Ashwaria smile's and she said "I'm Miranda Everest, Second year, Ravenclaw" we shook hands and
Ashwaria replied "Oh a Ravenclaw and by the way I am not like most Gryffindors even though I am brave I still love books and hate doing pranks, Though I do goof around sometimes scaring the Slytherin purebloods who care about blood status with muggle tech science or even our culture" and then she muttered under my breath "Woah I speak a lot, always knew that"
Ashwaria asked both girls with a proud smiling face"Do you know about muggles and what they do because the moment I entered Hogwarts The pureblood and proud students really make extremely weird assumptions and from now onwards I am going to change that"
"Hi I need some help finding a few books"I repeated "Which books?" Miranda asked, nodding. "I can probably help you with most, but if you want something really specific, you'll have to talk to the
librarian. They know much more than I ever would, no matter how much time I spend in here." She lowered her voice. "Some students say she even sleep in here, which sounds ridiculous, but honestly? Not everyone is all that sure it's a fib." I respond "Are there any Muggle books like a brief history of time or like sherlock holmes like anything or does the library only have Wizarding world related stuff because a few books I cant download a pdf or even available and I don't want to buy it on my MAC" and then I say "Umm... mind me I actually talk a lot sometimes, and if you don't know what I just said just want to know are there any muggle stories or science, maths, etc related books?"
Ashwaria mutters under her breath with her face as crimson as her tie "Oh have just scared a new person seriously"

Rish smiled as the two girls talked. Maybe they could be friends after all. She’d always wanted to make a friend from every house, and the very last one was Slytherin. But she didn’t think of that now.
And the girl named Ashwaria i front of her gave her somewhat of a good feeling, although she felt bad because that reason was that they both talked a lot. But she didn’t want to say that right away, because she didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. For now, I listened.
“Hi I need some help finding a few books.” Ashwaria said.
“Which books?” Miranda asked. “I can probably help you with most, but if you want something really specific, you'll have to talk to the librarian. They know much more than I ever would, no matter how much time I spend in here." She then lowered her voice, and I stepped a little closer. "Some students say she even sleep in here, which sounds ridiculous, but honestly? Not everyone is all that sure it's a fib."
Rish’s eyes widened. There were also a lot of rumours in this school.
Ashwaria then asks if there were any Muggle books in this library, and she talks about PDFs and MACs. Although she’d never used them before (Microsoft was never her thing, she only ever used google), she smiled.
“You know a lot about Muggles!” She said. “That’s cool! I guess I know a bit too. And I absolutely love their books, it would be so cool if there were some in here.” She then turned to Miranda, and let out a small chuckle. “So, since you’ve been here for longer than we have... are there any in the library?”

Miranda paused, wondering what Ashwaria had meant by a PDF or a MAC. They sounded like strange muggle things...but were they? Rish also seemed to recognize the names, but Miranda wasn't sure if that was because she too knew them from the muggle world, or if she knew it from somewhere else. There was no good way of figuring it out...not without asking, which she didn't want to do for fear of sounding dull or ill-informed.

One, two...nope, not happening.

"What do you mean by a p-d-f or a m-a-c?" Miranda asked, spelling both words out as she said them. They seemed to be acronyms for something, but obviously something she herself wasn't familiar with. Which made sense if they were muggle items, but if they ended up being wizarding objects...she'd never live it down. Miranda was a pure-blood after all. Her family had known of the wizarding world for generations upon generations, so she'd always considered herself an expert on the subject. The muggle world...not so much. There were many, many people who could testify for that.

"There should be some muggle books in this library," Miranda replied with a small nod. "I can bring you to the rough area, but I don't know the exact spot."

“Are there any in the library?”

After Rish had asked the question, she realized Miranda didn’t seem to be listening. Her face contorted in confusion, she looked to me, and then to Ashwaria.
“What do you mean by a p-d-f and a m-a-c?” She asked.
Rish smiled at the question. Apparently she was interested in finding out!
“Well, a PDF is a place to save text on your comp...”
Rish trailed off upon realizing that Miranda looked even more confused that before. Rish sighed, realizing that she was never too good at explaining stuff.
“A PDF stands for portable document format—I’m not really sure what that means—but you save text on there.”
Miranda still looked confused. Rish looked up, wondering how she was supposed to explain this. Muggle things were hard to explain to someone whose never seen it before. You’d have to see it to understand how most of it worked. Rish then looked back to Miranda and shrugged.
“Okay, it’s kinda like a parchment on a screen.” Miranda seemed to understand then, but Rish kept going. “Well, its not really that important. We can tell you later if you want.”
Rish then remembered her question about the Muggle books. She asked the question again, and Miranda nodded.
“There should be some Muggle books in this library. I can bring you to the rough area, but I don’t know the exact spot.” She said.
Rish and Ashwaria shared an excited glance before following Miranda.

Miranda listened to Rish's explanation with interest, although none of what she said really made much sense to the Ravenclaw. Many of the words she said sounded like gobbledygook, and the ones that did make sense didn't help much. Finally the other girl settled on a description that made more sense than the past few (although why on the world muggles would bother recreating parchment in a new way when it was perfectly fine already was beyond her).

After Rish promised to explain later, Miranda nodded, answered the question she asked, then led the duo down one of the library paths. She studied the book titles she saw as she passed, waiting for them to get to the section she was aiming for. Hopefully, nothing would go wrong and they'd find the area they were looking for, but Miranda didn't feel too confident. Muggle storybooks were something she'd read a lot when younger, but now they just seemed strange. Strange even my muggle standards, that is. Most of the ones she had read were about muggle children finding themselves in fantastical realms where the magic made absolutely no sense. It was honestly quite strange to her.

"Here we are," she announced after almost a minute of weaving through shelves. "Right over...here." Miranda tapped a shelf which contained a few of the muggle book titles she recognized. Hopefully that meant she'd found the right place.
