The Great Hall is a large room with four long tables where students of each House sit during the day and at mealtimes. A majestic enchanted ceiling that mirrors the outside weather is watching over people in the room.
Four long tables for the four houses. Close to the doors from the Entrance Hall is Slytherin's, in between the badgers and the birds. On their right - towards the right side of the room - is the Hufflepuff table, whilst to their left - towards the middle of the room - is the Ravenclaw table.
At the Slytherin table, sit the students from the Noble House, where they can discuss about their next mischief around the finest meals.
This is a RPG topic where all students are welcome to post.All RPG rules apply. Word count per post is 200 words, not including quotes, ooc chat or other people's words. Any flood type of message will be deleted after a warning owl is sent.

The Slytherin Table 2020-2021
Katie sits down to eat her dinner. She pours maple syrup on her sausage and takes a bite of an egg and cheese burrito as she joins the other first years. They were having breakfast for dinner, which had always been her favorite. She doesn't know any of the other first years yet, so she is very nervous. Should she attempt friendliness and make conversation? No... Probably too awkward. They don't even know her yet!
Katie was big on food, but she remembered her pure-blood manners. One of the biggest downsides to coming from a nuetrally-aligned pure-blood family, was having to use table manners.
Katie suspected that most of the other Slytherin first years were also pure-blooded, but she didn't recognize any of them. Would it be presumptuous to ask? Katie didn't want to risk it.
She took a sip of the pumpkin juice and nearly barfed. It was much too sweet for her liking, despite the fact that under normal circumstances, she loved anything with pumpkin in it. After that, she decided to stick to water, at least for now.
Katie wanted to make friends. She loved talking to other people and was excited to be around other Slytherins, but she'd always been an introvert and was too nervous to seek others out. If someone else initiated it, it would be easier for her to become friends and open up. She hoped that others would find her interesting and that she could make friends, but she was still worried. Would any of the first years want to get to know her???

The Slytherin Table 2020-2021
Henry was finally back at Hogwarts, he thought it would feel different but instead of feeling like he was back at home or surrounded by friends but instead he felt out of place or isolated from others. Henry still had his summer on his mind, with everything that happened it was going to be hard for him to go back to his normal self or concentrate on other things but he would need to force himself to unless he wanted others to know that there was something around with him or risk his hidden life coming out and being spread around hogwarts.
Henry could feel his blood boiling as he sat at the slytherin table in his robes, alone and isolated from others. He wasn't speaking or laughing with anyone but he also did have more friends in other houses and rarely any in his own which Henry didn't mind at the moment since he wanted to be alone and isolate himself to juts his thoughts which he will soon regret doing. As Henry watched a girl next to him who was just sorted into his house pile syrup on her sausages Henry may have looked at her for a minute or two but quickly turned away as he continued his thinking and isolating.

Katie notices a boy looking at her. He looks like a second year, but she isn't confident on that. Like her, he isn't animated, chatting with the people around them. Maybe he's an introvert like her?
He could be able to help her with navigating the school, if he really is a second year. Katie, while looking forward to her classes, is unsure exactly where they all are located. Hogwarts is so vast and Katie is confident she will get lost at least twice during the first week. Maybe he would be a good friend to make or if not friend, ally of acquaintance.
But how to introduce herself to the male Slytherin? Maybe ask him what his name is? No... Too awkward. She hates stilted conversations. Maybe introduce herself? But then that might sound like she's self-centered. She didn't want the quiet boy sitting near her to think that. Especially when it was far from the truth. She was actually pretty modest when it came to her achievements. Katie preferred to bolster other's confidence rather than feed her own ego.
Katie mustered up all the courage she could bear, and said, "Hey, so the food's good, huh? I love breakfast for dinner!" .

Henry was still thinking of the events that went down during the summer as he heard a voice by him speak and at first he didn't believe that they were speaking to him but when Henry scanned around and saw that the first year girl was in fact speaking to him, he was sort of annoyed as he wanted to continued to think about the events over the summer and how new found hidden life but he was also patience and kind. So as Henry placed a few chicken wings and some bangers and mash on this plate he looked at the girl as he spoke a bit quietly " yeah I guess, although I wouldn't call what I have breakfast."
Henry looked at the girl's plate which was filled with sausage and eggs, which was something he didn't understand. Why would someone eat breakfast for dinner but he didn't waste time thinking of it as he smiled at the girl before saying " you were just sorted a few minutes ago right? I'm a second year myself," Henry would introduced himself but at the moment he preferred to stay nameless and with out a family just at the moment with everything going on.

Upon hearing the boy's comment on the food, Katie gave her trademark snort-laugh. Unfortunately, Katie was currently eating, so bite of not fully chewed sausage clumps and breakfast burrito mash spewed from her mouth nose as Katie most un-gracefully laughed. Oh Merlin! He was probably regretting talking to her. She tried to cover her mouth, but a partially chewed sausage clump, (but not fully swallowed of course), shot out from her nose and landed into one of the chicken wings on his plate.
Katie flushed bright red. Merlin she was an idiot! "Ummm... Sorry about that!", Katie stammered. "It was just funny, what you said about how it wasn't really breakfast for dinner for you, but umm now I guess it sorta might be, but ummm I'm really sorry. " Man was she messing this up! "I'm Katie. Katie Palsorette. Pure-blood. Nice to meet you. I'm new here obviously. I was so excited to be sorted into Slytherin. So you 're a second year? Is it hard? Are the classes good? I haven't started any yet obviously, but I'm looking forward to it. How soon will I get my schedule? Whose the best teachers here? I have been looking forward to Charms. Whose teaching it? ", Katie starts rambling and starts speaking faster in an attempt to cover up the fact she'd snorted sausage on his chicken wings! Would be be offended if she asked for it back? Now probably wasn't the time to think of that. Was he listening to her? She had wanted to know the answers to those questions anyway.
Merlin help all of Hogwarts if Katie couldn't pull herself together. She looked up expectantly at the 2nd year. Did she even know his name?

"Gross"Cash said when they saw a clump of sausage shot out from a girl nose that sat not far from the green eyes girl and landed on Henry's chicken wing. They about to spoon up some mashed potatoes into their mouth. On their plate there are some roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, sausages and some veggies.
The said boy seems deep in his thought before the girl talking to him. "You know as a pureblood you should have watch your manner"The purple dyed hair girl chides the girl. Cash's friends that sat near them snickered. Cash then watched the girl spewing question after question to Henry without breathing. There are a lot of questions that being fired by Katie.
Cash is waiting if Henry being annoyed with this girl or not. "Merlin! Breathe"Cash stated after Katie finished all of her train of questions. "For someone whose a Slyhterin, you sure do talk a lot and a curious one, don't you? You sure you belong in this table?"Cash arching an eyebrow and look at the girl. Cash's friends this time around was full blown laughing.
One of them even pushed them playfully. "Do not touch me"Cash growled out. The boy who pushed them, raise both of his hand in the air. "Jeez! Chill"The boy said to Cash, the green eyes girl ignore him. "So you new, huh? That explain the train of questions being spewed out from your mouth. I can answer one of your many many question,"This time Cash said it in sarcastic manner.
"For Charms it is being teach by Professor Vernatis. You will meet him eventually. Marvelous professor, he is"Cash told Katie. Cash then look at Henry. The girl known as Katie was spitting questions left and right at Henry, and when literally as food was coming out of her mouth. Lucky for Henry he wasn't hungry as he pushed back his plate while he spoke quicky in one of her pauses " I'm actually not hungry and the classes aren't that hard but it depends on the person," Henry's headache was growing as the girl continued to speak quite fast and about anything and everything, however when Cash interrupted and jump in that made Henry quite relived. He turned to Cash when they ask if the girl was bothering him to which he replied " it's fine, don't worry about it."
Henry remembered meeting Cash on the train ride back home last year along with Anastasia Beckett that was before his life turned upside down and he now had a hidden life, but still Henry could lie and make pretend while he spoke " it's nice to see you again, Cash. How how was your summer?" Henry saw that they had their own friends to talk to but Henry didn't really have too many friends in slytherin which I why he he ask, after through Henry turned to Katie as he spoke again " I'm Henry and you should get your schedule in a day or two." Henry never cared about blood status but she seemed like she did so Henry replied rather dull " I'm also a pureblood but I don't care about blood status, like almost everyone else here." Henry then ran a hand through his hair and hoped that his headache would be gone soon as he looked back at Cash and saw they still had their purple hair which made him smile.

"Oh. Okay." Katie said. "Look. I'm really sorry about your food. I'm just nervous and am new to this. I don't think purebloods are better either. I just think that the statue of secrecy should be more closely enforced when it comes to first generation wizards and that a first ten wizard becomes a mudblood only when they refuse to celebrate our holidays, insist on freeing our house elves, and basically don't accept our culture at all." She said. She wasn't a blood-purist and didn't want the second years to think that about her. She explained her thoughts on blood purity slower, as Katie noticed that they had looked exasperated at her questions.
Ugh. Was she ever going to make friends here? This was a mess she'd gotten herself into. She ruined a boy's sorting feast meal after all. And there was another second year girl who seemed irritated at her too. A friend of the boy or something. Katie figured today couldn't possibly get worse. No one in their right mind would want to talk to her now? Would they?
She finished her food, more delicately and politely than the earlier fiasco, and looked up again. "Look. I'm really sorry. I'll leave you guys alone now. Please don't tell anyone about this." Katie said to the two older Slytherins. Then, she put her head in her hands and groaned. Knowing her luck, they'd probably tell the whole school about it.

Henry heard this girl speak and for once he was outraged, his thoughts on his hidden family and life probably contributed to his anger but he couldn't contained himself as this girl used the word mudblood and said everything that any typical and old pureblood family would say. Henry had his mind filled with her words and thoughts on his hidden family and life that this time he couldn't contain himself as he spoke in a low but also sort of annoyed and angry sort of way to this girl " nobody in their right mind uses mudblood anymore, the proper term is muggle born and some of my closeted friends are muggle born and their brilliant," Henry held his tongue as he didn't insult the girl before continuing in the same snappy and low, annoyed voice " and no one becomes a mudblood, that's just wrong and everything that you said is also wrong. Because just so you know my family doesn't own a house elf, after my father grew up with one. He then decided to not owe another and focus on freeing them which my siblings and I agree with because they don't deserve to be treated the way that some treat them," Henry eyed the girl and thought she was the type who would mistreat an house elf before continuing " unless their treated right, like they are here at Hogwarts."
Henry had to restrain himself as he continued " as for the other things you mention, is completely unneeded. But back to mudblood part, no one uses that anymore except from blood purists and the old families," Henry felt a pain in his stomach as he thought of his friends that just girl just insulted before saying again " it's clear to me that we don't have anything in common so," Henry waved his hand to a blonde haired boy saying " why don't you go hang out with people who share your awful views and leave me alone, Katie." Henry didn't mean to be so mean to the girl but she did insult his friends or some of them and he was angry already about his hidden life and family that he couldn't help it as he moved a bit down and waved hi to Cash and their friends before going back to his thoughts.
