Calm Before the Storm PV Henry Knight Finished

Oh. Rose blushed a little, though, to Henry, it would be hard to tell if it was just a trick of the sunset or her blushing. When Rose heard twins, she assumed they were the same gender, that was just the first thing that popped in her head. She felt kinda bad thinking that stereotype, especially when she was so against stereotypes, all kinds.
"That's really cool. I don't think I've... met her," Rose was about to say "seen her," but she could tell that part of his sister seemed sensitive. And she didn't want to do anything that made him uncomfortable, or more anxious than he already was. Maybe for some reason she couldn't come to Hogwarts. Maybe she had some kind of chronic disease that Hogwarts wouldn't be safe for her. Or maybe she wasn't allowed at Hogwarts. Maybe she was a squib. Maybe she went to another Wizarding school, on request, like Illermorny, Durmstrang, or Beauxbatons. There were a million possibilities, each more likely than the next.
Rose snorted. Did she have siblings. That was a silly question to anyone who knew her, but her and Henry just met. "I do, actually. I am the middle of five kids in my family, and I live with them and my mom. I look nothing like my family, they're all blonde. My dad was the redhead and none of my siblings got that except for me." Rose nodded. She really stood out in her family, which her opinion differed on from time to time. Sometimes she hated it, and sometimes she was proud to carry on her father's genes. She really did have a big family, bigger than most but smaller than Rose wished, by just one person- her dad. "Where do you live? Like, in Scotland, in England... whereabouts?"
She had always loved that word, whereabouts. She had liked all long words, her brother used them often.
Though she did get frustrated when she had no idea what they meant and he made her guess.

Rose's brow furrowed, trying to remember if there was an Annabeth Knight in Gryffindor, in her year. She couldn't remember one, and she felt really guilty for not remembering her. She opened her mouth in confusion, about to say that maybe he had misspoke or something, but he cut her off, saying he was just kidding.
"Oh," Rose's "oh" was very drawn out with her realization. "That makes sense. I'm sorry you and her can't come to Hogwarts to school together. What house do you think she would be in?" Of course, Rose knew whatever Henry's guess could be wrong, but she wanted to hear his best guess.
Rose's cheeks blushed at his compliment on her being unique in her family. "Thank you," she murmured. It made her feel really warm inside, that he would say that to her. That was really nice of Henry to say that, especially since Rose had always felt so insecure about being so majorly different than her family. It wasn't just her hair and her- she was introverted and the rest of her family were so so extroverted. It gave her just the slightest advantage over that insecurity, at least in that moment.
"My brothers are Ravenclaws, and my older sister is in Hufflepuff. My little sister isn't at Hogwarts yet. And your older brother, Arthur? What House was he in?"
Rose listened to Henry talk about Godric's Hollow when he was younger. "Around London. Is there anywhere you've always wanted to live? I've always wanted to live in Godric's Hollow."

Rose laughed a little bit at his comment about trouble. "I know a certain Hufflepuff who is just like that," she shared. Her friend Alina Rosier was very dangerously inclined, and Rose made sure to watch out for her. She had even said she was planning to swim in the Black Lake this year. "But you're right- if she makes as much trouble as you're implying she is definitely in one of those."Rose did sometimes got a little tired of those rebellious people in Gryffindor and Slytherin, but, in a way, she also admired them- they lived life to the fullest and weren't going to let fear hold them back.
Henry heavily implied him feeling in the shadow of his older brother, who was prefect and Head Boy and got all O's and was perfect and- Rose felt a flash of guilt for her little siblings. She had always thought that it never hurt to strive to be the best you can be, but she had never considered the expectations she set for her younger siblings with that goal, that goal of being perfect.
Maybe she was too hard on herself.
"Mmh, too true. I take it you really miss it there." But the houses in Godric's Hollow really were expensive, too much for her family to afford.
Dragons. "Oh, I love dragons," Rose confessed. "Are you interested in Magical Creatures as well?" Rose looked off at the slowly setting sun. Her expression turned daydreamy and she leaned once again on the rail, saying, "I have always loved animals, and I can't wait till next year to start taking Care of Magical Creatures." It really was true- Rose had a strange interest in animals, ever since she was really young. Her siblings would call her the animal whisperer, because she could get along with any animal, and it would always be drawn to her instead of her siblings. She had befriended some animals in the woods behind her house, mostly rabbits, but a group of wild cats, and once, even, a bird.
She had always liked their quiet company compared to the rambunctiousness of her house. "Do you know why or is it just..." something that was always there?
Rose had never really known why she had this kind of connection with animals, but... it was there, and Rose liked that. She did not want it to go anywhere.

A rush of excitement hit Rose as Henry exclaimed that he loved magical creatures. "Mine too," Rose confessed, laughing with him. She really couldn't wait until she could take the class, and it was probably crazy that she enjoyed it already. She had heard from her older sister that it was fun, and had begged her to tell her more about it. She had even read Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them all the way through way too many times to count.
Rose's eyes lit up as he asked her if they should do something together. It almost sounded like he was asking her out, but not enough to seem so. She was already taken and a very loyal girlfriend. A smile spread across her face. "I would love that." Little did she know that very soon, before they could find a time to do something together regarding their common interests, they would be spending detention together as a result of an accident in the potions classroom.
"My siblings would call me the creature whisperer too!" she exclaimed. She was so happy she had found someone who shared her strange interest. The Quidditch Players had touched the ground and were making their way back up to the castle. Rose remembered the new curfew and her eyes widened. "We should probably get back up to the castle so we can be in our dorms in time."
They followed the Quidditch players off the pitch and towards the castle, making mostly small talk along the way, talking about various creatures, when they finally had to part. "It was really nice talking to you, Henry. You're a really nice guy," Rose's smile reached her emerald eyes. "Thank you." Rose and him then split ways, him going toward the dungeons and Rose rushing after the Gryffindor Quidditch players. They really had more in common than met the eye, and Rose was glad she had met him.
