Bella listens to Allie, before deciding on a table which didn't look to be as busy as the others. She leads her to it and sits herself down, putting her bag lightly next to her on the bench. She watches as Allie does the same, smiling at her.
Looking down at the choices in front of her, she found herself in a debate on what to eat. Either a simple sandwich or maybe some pie. Deciding on something not too big, she grabs a couple ham sandwiches and places them on her clear plate. "It's always hard to decide what to eat here." Bella muses, taking a bite from her food and savouring the flavour. She hoped it would start some sort of conversation.
Her eyes wander around the hall, noticing the mix of students there. It had definitely been busier before, as there were numerous empty seats scattered around each table. Some were eating, some where even studying by themselves. Bella was not looking forward to the day she would have to be studying fro exams, she worried she would be bad at them. She's never done them before, what if she was extremely bad at them? She takes another bite, hoping Allie would answer soon.

Allie followed Bella over to a table in the farther corner of the room, which wasn't super crowded like some of the other tables. Sitting down across from the other girl, she smiled back at Bella, and glanced down at the platters of food in front of her. Like usual, there were many options: savory pies and sweet pies, tarts, lamb chops - basically everything and anything a student could want. After grabbing a few savory pies and arranging them neatly on her plate, Allie picked up a tart and added that as well. She wasn't too hungry, but she knew she should eat something.
Almost like she had read her mind, Bella commented on how hard it was to decide what to eat at Hogwarts. Allie grinned and nodded. "I was just thinking the same thing!" she exclaimed. "I keep trying new things, and I like every one of them," she added. "Although I do have a few favorites."
Allie noticed Bella looking around the room and did the same, noting the seats begin to empty as others finished up their meals. Seeing a few that had papers and books out, Allie glanced at her bag on the bench next to her. She had already studied everything she would need to know for her next classes, but she liked to study more than she needed to. Not now though, she told herself in her head. Right now focus on talking to the person who is actually sitting in front of you! Allie turned back to Bella.
"So, were you surprised about getting your letter to Hogwarts?" She knew this could - and most likely would - start an interesting conversation, since a lot of students at Hogwarts were Muggle born, or half bloods, and not as many were wizard born, like herself. Therefore, they usually had quite fascinating stories to tell. She waited for the other girl's reply patiently.

Bella watches as Allie sorts her food choices neatly on her plate, whilst also listening to her question. She decides to also take one of the tarts that lay on a plate in front of the two, she figured that eating a little more than just a sandwich would be better.
"Well my father bought me up and he's a wizard, so he was excited for the day I got my letter." Bella began, purposefully avoiding the topic of her mother. She remembers all the times her father would talk about Hogwarts to her, smiling she continues, "he's been telling me all about this place since I can remember. But, I guess I was scared that I wouldn't get one either.". Sighing slightly, she thinks of those times in her bedroom when she worried of being a Squib and maybe not being able to experience Hogwarts.
Bella eats her tart that lay untouched, savouring the sweet taste it gave. "What about you? What was it like getting your letter?" she sends the smallest of smiles, wanting to get to know Allie more. She was sure her life was more interesting than hers, a story worth telling. Bella decided long ago nobody would want to read a book about her monotonous life.

OOC: Sorry for the delay!
Allie noted that Bella took tart from the plate in front of her, the same type she herself had gotten. She smiled at the Gryffindor. She had similar tastes, it seemed. Once Bella had finished, she started to answer Allie's question.
As she listened, the Ravenclaw took a few bites of her food. She noted that Bella hadn't said a word about her mother, which was interesting. But she wouldn't bring it up unless the other girl prompted her to, she knew how some people felt about sharing things about their family. Bella's smile turned a little sad and she sighed. "Oh." It's the only thing Allie thought to say at the moment, since she realized how being brought up by two wizard parents who had both gone to Hogwarts had affected the way she thought about being accepted. She had never wondered if she would get in or not - she just assumed she would. Blushing slightly at this thought, she glanced down at her plate for a few seconds then looked up again to answer the other girl's question.
"Both my parents are wizards," she started. Allie made sure that her tone didn't suggest she was bragging, because she was just stating the facts. "They had both gone to Hogwarts when they were children. That's actually how they met each other." After saying this she gave Bella a quick glance, checking to see if she was boring the other girl or not. She didn't think so, and so she kept talking. "Both my parents always seemed to think I would get into Hogwarts, so I guess that kind of affected what I thought too." she explained. "My magic did show up a little later than average though, it happened when I was seven. I've heard of students who performed an act of magic before turning six though," Allie shrugged.
"What was your first incidental magic? The one that got you into Hogwarts?" The first year paused before adding, "Mine was that I unlocked a door. Not much," she grinned.

Bella listens at Allie reminiscing about her past and home life, completely invested in what she had to say. She loved listening about people's backstories, it's the book loving side of her coming out; wanting to know the character. She smiles when Allie talks of her parents meeting at Hogwarts; maybe she ought to tell the girl of her own parents meeting?
Bella answers Allie's question, taking another bite of food just before, "I think I was around 8 or 9? I accidentally changed the living room walls to green, it was a relief to know I was going here."
Bella glances around the hall, deciding to talk a speak of her parents a bit more. There was nothing to be ashamed of her mother's passing after all. "So your parents met here? That's so interesting! M-ugh-my parents grew up in the same village, my father's a wizard but my mother was a muggle." she began, a smiling a little at the novel worthy story. "My grandparents didn't approve of my father wanting to be with a muggle, so the two kept their relationship a secret. Then one day, once he left Hogwarts, he'd had enough and they ran off together and had me." Bella couldn't help but think it was quite a dramatic story, but she still admired her father for risking everything for what he believed in.
She tucks a stray piece of her hair behind her ear, feeling slightly awkward after talking so openly about her parents history. It was known for Bella to cower from going too much into detail about her parents, a sore subject, but she knew her father will want people to know.

OOC: Just wondering, do you know exactly what day this all happens? If not, that's fine, I'm sure we can come up with something, I just was wondering if classes and stuff had started yet.
As she was telling the Gryffindor about her parents, Allie noticed with a feeling of relief that the other girl actually seemed to be listening to her story. Not only that, but she seemed to be interested in it as well. She couldn't help but smile as she finished saying a couple more sentences.
Bella answered the Ravenclaw's question about her incidental magic. Allie nodded. "Oh, that's a little later than me," she said. Then, biting her lip, she added, "There's nothing wrong with that though." Allie didn't want to make the other girl feel bad right after they had met. "Do you like the color green?" she asked quickly, changing the subject. She really was curious, after all the color green wasn't a lot of people's favorite colors, at least not for the people she had met.
Bella looked around the Great Hall, then she hesitantly told Allie a little more about her parent's past and their history. Allie nodded here and there, and once the other student was finished, she commented. "Yes, my parents met here - but your family's story is much more interesting than mine," she admitted with a smile. "It sounds like something from a fairytale, or even just a novel." And it would make a good story, she thought as well.
The Gryffindor began to look a little shy, which made Allie guess she didn't talk much about her history. "So," the first year said, changing the subject away from the uncomfortable one for Bella. "How are you liking Hogwarts so far?"

“ I actually like the colours blue and black more, so I don’t know why younger me wanted to change the living room green.” Bella laughs lightly at the thought.
She continues listening to Allie, listening to her praise her parents story and describing it along the lines of a fairytale. Bella always felt that too, one day wished for her own fairytale; as cringe it sounded. Allie asks her of her time at Hogwarts, a subject Bella liked to talk about.
She takes a sip from her drink, relishing in the sweet taste as it enters her mouth and begins, “I’m loving it! It’s been so exciting learning new things. I’ve mostly been exploring the grounds, my father always said there’s never a dull moment here.”. She smiles, excitement coursing through her at the thought of more adventures in the castle.
She looks to the girl, “what about you? Is it as wonderful as you thought?”. Maybe now Allie thought her strange, she tries to push the saddening thought away. At least she was trying to make friends, it would then be Allie’s choice whether she would want to spend her time on Bella. Bella takes another sip of her drink while waiting for the girl’s answer.

Date: Sunday, September 11
OOC: I just chose a random date, and classes have already started on that date. Hope it's okay!
Bella laughed a little as she told Allie that she actually liked the colors black and blue better, and didn't know why the walls had turned green instead. The Ravenclaw laughed with her but then thought it over for a few moments, finally coming up with a possible explanation. "Well, our incidental magic isn't something we can control, so it was probably just a random color," It made sense to her, and she looked at Bella to see if it made sense to her as well.
Allie watches as the Gryffindor takes a sip of the drink in her hand and waits for an answer to her question. “I’m loving it! It’s been so exciting learning new things. I’ve mostly been exploring the grounds, my father always said there’s never a dull moment here.” The first year nodded, a smile on her face. She agreed wholeheartedly, even though she had only been at Hogwarts for a little over a week now, so much had happened! It was like going on an adventure, you never knew what was just around the corner. And because magic was in use here, anything, absolutely anything could happen. She expressed these thoughts out loud once Bella asked her about her opinions.
"Yes, actually, it is as wonderful as I thought. Maybe even more so. When I was younger, I couldn't wait to get to go to a school of magic, and so it's been like a dream, these past few days. She took a breath and looked at Bella, who seemed a little. . . she couldn't figure out the word for it. "Are you alright?" the girl asked quickly. But the look had passed and there was no sign it had even been there in the first place.

Bella looks up the Ravenclaw girl, unaware that she had made her feelings so obvious. Composing herself she plasters a smile on her face, praying silently to herself that she was a good liar. "Yeah! Just thinking of when to send my father an owl is all!" Bella lies effortlessly, tucking a strand of stray ginger hair from her face.
She glances around for another topic to talk about, intending the conversation to not be an awkward one. Many students sat around in their own worlds, still in deep conversation with theirs peers. She couldn't help noticing a particular boy demonstrating some sort of funny dance to this friends, all of the laughing loudly as he did so. A short distance away there was also a girl and boy holding hands across the table, it was clear they were a couple; relationships was something Bella never thought about. A light chill lived inside the Great Hall, a pleasing feeling. The sound of clinking and clatters of cutlery hitting plates still echoed around the Hall.
"Do you have any favourite classes yet?" Bella asks, curious to know the answer. She enjoyed Charms and Defence Against the Dark Arts, she always finds herself concentrating harder in those particular lessons.

Bella nodded quickly when Allie asked if she was alright, quickly giving the Ravenclaw a grin and telling her that she was just deciding when to send her father and owl. Allie tilts her head to one side, a little uncertain that the reason she had been given was the real reason the other girl had looked a bit sad. The Gryffindor's expression of happiness doesn't waver though, and so she finally nods. "Oh, yes, I should probably send my parents and owl as well. I haven't done that in some time. . . they are probably wondering how I am." she made a mental note to do that later.
Seeing Bella look around the Great Hall, the Ravenclaw does the same. Everyone around the two seemed to be talking with their friends, and she thought she even noticed a few people that looked alike - probably siblings. A loud laugh startled her slightly, and she turned to see a boy dancing to entertain his friends. Noticing Bella looking in the same direction out of the corner of her eye, Allie smiled to herself. The mood in the room was so bright and lively it was almost hard not to smile, really.
"Yes, actually. I really enjoy Charms. . . it's also the class I've been doing best in so far, to tell you the truth." she paused, then clarified: "That's not the only reason I like it, of course. . . but that helps." she laughed a little, her eyes lighting up with excitement. "What about you?" Allie asked. "What's your favorite class?"Sorry for the super late reply - it's been almost a month, I've just been quite busy.
