Henry watched ad the hufflepuff successfully casted the levitation charm and gave him a smile, Henry return the smile and quickly checked to ensure that they hadn't drawn the attention of the professor not that Henry would care since he wanted the professor to see how well he casted charms as he could have his position back as top of the class. Henry slowing landed his quill then thought of another charm he could do, he didn't want it to be to advanced but advanced enough to give Lindsey a hard time because even through Henry was trying to best Lindsey, he was actually enjoying himself and like the competition between him and the hufflepuff.

Even though some would say, that they were showing off to each other; Henry thought it was fun and a mere friendly competition where no one would get hurt but instead learn from each other to become better. As Henry finally thought of the next charm, he snapped his quill in half and then pointed his wand at his quill and spoke "Reparo," as the quill repaired itself from the mending charm. Henry turned to smile at Lindsey and again hoped she was successful in casting the mending charm but also maybe failed the first time.

The boy returned her a smile. Though rather small, but still a smile.
Lindsey assured herself that this boy wasn’t that proud and competitive. He might just be a little willing to win and be the first. She now almost regretted to accidentally cast out the spell. If she didn’t, then things might be different now.
Maybe they’d even become good friends, or had already talked a lot and knew each other deeper. Maybe they would chat about their school life so far, and exchange their ideas on different subjects.
Lindsey sighed. So far, the competition seemed friendly at least, but she had no idea whether it would gonna become fierce or not.
Hope it wouldn’t. A fierce competition and debate was never something for her. She liked warm and friendly places, not a gloomy one.
“Ventus,” the boy casted the next charm.
He might just be showing off. Thought Lindsey. Somehow she had decided that she would not cast the next spell successfully though the badger perceived she would know it already.
Apparently, she failed to follow her idealistic decision again. One could probably say that proudness was deep rooted in Lindsey’s heart. She should never fail and be not as good as others. Never.
“Ventus,” she waved her wand as well. Succeed. Her quill flew to the edge of table as well.
Again, a smile was paid. It was a friendly one, at least she believed so.

Henry watched as Lindsey also succeeded at the spell then smiled at him, when he return with a friendly smile well at least Henry thought it was as he reach to the end of his desk to pull his quill closer to him. Henry did looked around and noticed that class was almost over but something in Henry wanted it to be longer as it was like of fun to have a academic competition like this that wouldn't produce any harm or rivals well that's not Henry thought. As he thought about what it cast next, he smiled as he spoke to Lindsey " Hey, what about you chose the next spell, Lindsey?" Henry wonder if she didn't complete that spell first did would they stop be doing this competition or would he be silently reading or would they actually be chatting with each other. Henry couldn't find the answer to any of these questions but ones thing is for sure, maybe they still could be friends out of this friendly competition. Henry would have liked to have a friend who was just as brilliant as him in charms and Lindsey definitely seemed like a good person so maybe they still could be friends from this. As Henry thought he looked at Lindsey's eyes and waited for her answer.

She was barely concentrating on her classes after successfully casting the spell. What was this guy for? Showing off? To prove that Slytherin’s better than Hufflepuff? Just for fun?
She let out a small sneer. From any aspects, she just couldn’t trust this snake. She had tried to convince herself, that he wasn’t bad at all. Huh, maybe not bad, but definitely not easy to get along with.
Was he kind? Was he helpful? Was he friendly? She did not know. Lindsey did not want to put a label on this boy yet, but she knew that, from her heart, she didn’t like him very much.
Her thoughts wandered further. Had he got any friends? Or just, did anyone like him? She still did not know.
“Hey, what about you chose the next spell, Lindsey?”
She was hardly listening. “Choose…? Oh spell? Okay then.”
Her reply was simple, but rather friendly. She tried to make it sounds as friendly as possible.
Being a Hufflepuff, though sometimes she hoped she could just turn her back and walk away, she was always friendly to others. No matter what she thought in her heart, at least on the outside, she showed her welcoming attitude. That’s really a stereotype, but…she just could not get rid of it.
She chuckled. She was too dumb to just giving an answer without an actual move.
“Periculum.” she waved her wand. Red sparks streamed out from the tip of the wood.
She turned to Henry, and, as she used to, smiled.

Henry watched as Lindsey casted the red spark spell before smiling at him, Henry smiled back as he wondered if the girl was taking their friendly competition a bit too seriously since he was choosing simple and ones that you were noticed while she just casted the red spark spell, a spell that everyone was able to see. Henry pointed his wand a bit to the sky as he softly said in a bit of a shaky voice "periculum," a fee red speaks then shot out from the tip of his wand and Henry quickly scanned the room to ensure they didn't draw any attention from any other students or the professor. Before looking back at Lindsey as he wonder what her true motivates were, maybe she saw this as more than a friendly competition or maybe she's trying to show off. As Henry tried to figure it out in his head, he spoke to her " you can chose the spell again if you like," Henry then smiled a friendly smile at her to show he meant no harm or anything since he was now getting some mixed feelings about Lindsey and he wasn't sure how he should deal with them so instead he just continued to watch her and think to himself what she was really doing.

So he succeeded.
This was foresaw by Lindsey, though she was not a seer apparently, and she was not surprised. Not the slightest.
She did not know whether she should put up a fake surprised expression, or just be as calm as she was now. He did not win, nor did she. They were perfectly drew till now.
Alright. So what would this boy say next? I’m better than you? Hufflepuffs are dumb? She had no idea.
But he was showing off, obviously. Even an idiot could perceive it.
She somehow felt frustrated. Lindsey wanted so badly to pick up all her things and storm out the classroom though the class was still continuing. Just think, what’s the point to stay longer with one that loved to show off? No point. At least none for her.
She felt that she had been an idiot to play the dumb game with this boy for a long time. No, she would not be the fool, never.
“You can chose the spell again if you like.”
He dared to speak again? Choose a spell again? She had decided that she wouldn’t be a fool anymore.
Some golden brown blocks were swept to the back of her shoulder. “No, sadly, I just don’t like.”
The words were said in a cold tone that could barely be heard from her pink lips. Her eyes were still sparkling, but now, they seemed like lightning.
Lindsey looked down to her textbook. This Henry was distracting. She should have been properly learning the wand lightening charm, instead of competing with this arrogant Slytherin. Yes, he was arrogant. The most arrogant person in the world. Showing off and self highness were the least things she could bare, and now, her patience was all consumed.
“Actually you may continue your game,” she heard herself saying in a teasing tone without knowing much what was she doing. “with your little girlfriend.” her hand generally waved in the direction of some girls in yellow and green.
After all, a boy like him who loved to brag definitely had a girlfriend, right? She was super confident in this.
Her attention came back to the textbook. Actually it’s quite interesting and teaches you a lot…

Henry heard her say that she didn't want to continue but then instead of stopping she include to say that Henry should play his game with his girlfriend. Henry for a reason thought that sounded rude and like he was wasting her time but he only did just want to practice so unsure what to say next the first year felt his anxiety washing over him quicky like a waves in the canes during high tide as he struggled with what to do next.

Henry cleared his throat a bit from nerves and then ran a hand through his hair, before saying again and trying not to stutter " you could have just said you like to s..stop. No need to be r..rude about it," Henry had so far only one or two friends in hufflepuff but he also had more friends in the other houses then he did in slytherin so he didn't think what he said sounded rude as he continued " also I would prefer it if you weren't p..prejudiced against me and assume t..things like I have a g..girlfriend because I d..don't."

Henry felt his neck sweat a bit and also felt a bit embarrassed as he heard himself stutter, he barely did it but he still did even through he was getting better. Henry hoped that the hufflepuff wouldn't think he was intimated or frightened of her even through he was. Henry placed his wand back in his pocket within his robe before looking at her and saying again " and what we were d..doing wasn't a game. It was p..practice something that you probably d..don't do since you assumed it was a g..game after you were just r..rude to me." Henry knew class would be over soon so he didn't dare to take anything out, he would just sit and wait till it was time for them to leave.

She was expecting a bomb explode, or a heart attack, but surprisingly, she wasn’t. The boy replied her in a rather trembling voice, which was definitely not what she was expecting. If he’s normal, yeah, normal, he would be angry, and asked her back whether she had a boyfriend or not. But he did not. How weird. Is he a true Slytherin? she asked herself. Maybe not. Or he’d be furious.

Ha, listen those baby like words. “…if you weren't p..prejudiced against me and assume t..things like I have a g..girlfriend because I d..don't” Who had prejudice against ones that had a girlfriend? Come on, lad, we all need a partner for life, well most of us. It’s just teasing. Teasing. Seemed like this snake did not understand laughable things like that. A girlfriend was something for others to tease with kindness, in Lindsey’s opinion. Apparently the Henry had no idea about what’s a joke and what’s a prejudice.

He was stuttering. Weird again, and hilarious. A small tease could make this boy stutter, so what about a large tease? Cry, and wanted to go home? She knew clearly that she wasn’t saying anything harsh, at least, she thought so. She just did not want to play the game, and had an opinion on his girlfriend, who seemed did not exist at all. She respoke the words to herself, and counted them. Sixteen. Only sixteen words.

Was she rude? In her own opinion, no. Not a single word was rude. And she only said that she did not want to play the ga-

“and what we were d..doing wasn't a game”

Kidding. She thought. Wasn’t it? Competing all those useless spells, showing off that you were better and more capable of charms. If it’s not a game, then it’s a competition. She somehow already decided to burst this out soon, when the boy continued.

“It was p..practice something that you probably d..don't do since you assumed it was a g..game after you were just r..rude to me.”

Still focusing on rude. Couldn’t he say some other things? Lindsey rolled her eyes. She wanted to have a great argument somehow, but she suddenly felt that it was not worth. Not worth her words…to this…coward.

It was good that the professor dismissed the whole class now. She picked up her things, and put her wand back to her pocket. “I’m leaving.” she said to Henry with a simple nod.

Then, she stood up, and decided to leave.
