The Slytherin Table 2017 - 2018
Xeno walked hastily towards the Slytherin table, his heart pounding, his stomach a ball of nerves, and an excited grin pulling at his face. He had so hoped to be in Slytherin, and here he was, at last. He had been terrified for the sorting ceremony - what if he got put in Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff? Or - God forbid - Gryffindor? - but it had turned out fine. Sitting on the long bench at the table, he made sure to put a bit of distance between himself and the other first years. Sure, he enjoyed making new friends, but right now there was enough buzzing around in his head without having to introduce himself, too.
Shyly, he looked around at the other people on the table, trying to work out who would make a good ally, and who wouldn't. Of course, as much as he did enjoy making friends, he was a half-blood, and becoming friends, or even just acquaintances with a well-off pure-blood would be a smart move. Sighing, he lowered his poor, overloaded head, making his fringe fall in his face. He glared at it. Of course, he loved the purple colour of it, but still, it always insisted on getting in his eyes. He brushed it aside, tucking it out of the way behind his ear, and continued to observe the other students at the table.

The Slytherin Table 2017 - 2018
Mia walked, confident, towards her new house's long silver and green decorated table. I knew itshe thought, it was Ravenclaw or here and Slytherin was my first choice anyway. She took in the scenery and the people next to her, enjoying the curious looks from her now fellow housemates. As she reached the table, she took an open seat and sat down in between two boys. It was the one right before her, the one with the long and complicated name that she forgot how to pronounce. Zenocilis? Xenoxilius? and the one that was about to cry, or was already crying, she couldn't tell. She surveyed the table, noticing several obvious new kids, the ones that were fidgeting, or just looked uncomfortable. To her surprise several were crying, or about to cry. I guess they must be really unhappy about Slytherinshe thought, I guess if I was sorted into Hufflepuff, or god forbid, Gryffindor I'd be blinking back tears too. Always bold, she decided to introduce herself.
"I'm Mia Alexander. It's nice to meet all of you. We are going to be spending a while together, so I think that it's best if we all get to know each other now."

The Slytherin Table 2017 - 2018
Wandering into the great hall, Marvin sat at the first table he saw. This was the first time since since the sorting ceremony that he had come to the hall, and he could finally admire its brilliance. Paying no mind to the students around him, he gazed at the magnificent ceilling and elaborate statues that were lined along the walls.
As he sat in awe of the room he grabbed a few pieces of food to munch on. Marvin was never a big eater, but he had barely eaten anything since he arrived at Hogwarts and was beginning to be a bit peckish.
Mumbling to himself, Marvin spoke out the words "This place is just brilliant" Completely unaware of his poor choice in seating, the students around him began to murmur and sneer to eachother. At this point Marvin was still gawking up at the ceiling, taking in the mystical vibe the room gave off, while nearly the entire Slitherin table had their eyes set on this stupid boy. The atmosphere grew tense as green cloaked students began to swarm the singular kid in red.
Finally Marvin looked away from the decorations in the room, noticing the disturbance among the students. "Sorry, are we not supposed to eat yet or something?" He looked around the crowd with a face of confusion.

The Slytherin Table 2017 - 2018
Mia sat down at the Slytherin table, yawning. It was the early morning and she was tired, but ready for her first day at Hogwarts. She walked purposfuly into the great hall, and was struck by its beauty. The ceiling was magnificent and the walls were elegant and tasteful. she finally sat down at her table. Quickly she noticed something was off. Students were snickering and laughing. All their snickers were in the direction of a Gryffindor? What is he doing at our table? she thought. The Gryffindor served himself food, looked around and then blurted, "Sorry, are we not supposed to eat yet or something?" He looked around the crowd with a face of confusion. Mia felt bad for the kid. May be he was a Muggle-born she thought. She decided to take pity on the kid. She walked over to him and sat down. Truth to he told, the kid was small, and looked kind of helpless. He had chestnut coloured, curly hair and fair skin. His face had a thin shape to it, and his eyes were hazel. She scooted over to him and gauged his height. He looked to be about 4 ½ feet tall, tiny for an 11 year old. Mia turned towards him and opeened her mouth.
"Look, you are not supposed to be at this table."

The Slytherin Table 2017 - 2018
"Look, you are not supposed to be at this table."
Marvin studied the girl speaking to him for a moment, and then spoke, nearly having to yell over the other students' mockery,"Oh I'm sorry, is this table reserved for someone?" It was quite clear he had absolutely no idea about the separate house tables. "I could move over to the next table if that's how it is," he added. Marvin's mother must have forgotten to teach him about Hogwarts itself. He knew none of it's customs or traditions and assumed the great hall's seating worked the same way it would at a regular muggle school.
Marvin began to pack up his things and started towards the next closest table, Ravenclaw's table. Someone really needed to teach this kid about Hogwarts before he got himself killed. As he tried to leave the Slytherin table, he struggled. The rowdy students were grabbing and pushing him around. Many shouts came from the table "Maybe he's one of those losers who thinks he was sorted into the wrong house" "Hey, he might not be a complete loser, maybe we can practice some spells on 'im" The sneering students grew louder as Marvin tried to move away from the table.

The Slytherin Table 2017 - 2018
The boy studied her for a moment.
"Oh I'm sorry, is this table reserved for someone?"
Mia's heart sank. This boy was going to get himself killed, or worse, kicked out. The boy began to pack up what little he had brought to the table, and stood up. Mia sighed. Maybe he is going over to his correct table. As soon as she thought that, he sat down at Ravenclaw's table. My god, she thought. Her fellow Slytherins started bushing him around. "Maybe he's one of those losers who thinks he was sorted into the wrong house" said the boy sitting across from her. "Hey, he might not be a complete loser, maybe we can practice some spells on 'im" a girl said. Mia stood up and grabbed the boy by his hair. She dragged him over to his correct table, and pushed him into an empty seat, next to a frightened first year.
"Stupid brave stupid going to get himself killed"
She muttered as she tried to think of how to talk some sense into him. She pointed at her table.
"I'm a Slytherin. You are a Gryffindor. You sit here. I sit there. It's custom. I'm sorry that your Muggle parents never taught you that, and you didn't listen when they explained this to us, but it's how it works, got it?"

The Slytherin Table 2017 - 2018
As the Slytherin girl shouted at Martin he looked around the room and noticed the house banners, taking a mental note that the red one symbolized where he should sit "Well thanks for letting me know about these seating arrangements, gosh who knows what would have happened if other people realised I was at the wrong table" At this point he was just acting dumb, this girl really seamed to care about these traditions, and Marvin was currious if he could learn a bit more about the school from her if he kept this up.
While this girl did seem to be a good source of information, it did bothered Marvin that she kept calling his parents Muggles. While yes, his father wasn't a wizard, his mother definitely was. He couldn't let people walk around think that his family was non-magical. Growing up at home he was always used to magical items like wizards chess and his mothers magical solutions to household problems. So in a bit of a childish voice he slipped out the words,"Just because you think you know more than others doesn't mean you can make assumptions about them" Marvin isn't usually a very hostile person so this remark wasn't all that threatening, but he was hoping it would at least push the girl down a peg.

"Well thanks for letting me know about these seating arrangements, gosh who knows what would have happened if other people realised I was at the wrong table....Just because you think you know more than others doesn't mean you can make assumptions about them"
The boy said in almost a childish voice. Mia was stunned.
"I assumed because of the way that you acted. You're not Muggle-born? Maybe Half-blood then. Still it doesn't matter. Listen in the future, ok?"
Mia walked back over to her table, adjusted her hair, and sat down. People stared rudely. She smiled. Maybe the boy was mad at her, maybe her table was mad at her, but she was happy. She had helped someone today using what she knew, a very Ravenclaw thing for her to do. Her mom would be proud. She looked back at the boy, still sitting back on the other side of the room. She realized something. She didn't know his name. Mia quickly finished her food and walked out of the hall, getting stares from every table. Great. She was a spectacle. Maybe I can see him again she thought. Maybe I can learn his name.Maybe he isn't stupid at all, just a terrible listener.

The Slytherin Table 2017 - 2018
Marcus took a seat in the empty part of the middle of the table, glancing around he studies the many newcomers to his house as he places food on his plate "Lots of people, should be rather entertaining" he mumbled as his jade colored eyes swept across the great hall, picking one several people from pureblood houses, his father said to communicate with, he sighed frustrated as he slides a hand through his silky black locks and shakes his head 'Stupid Pureblood Alliances, Merlin help me..' he thoughts as he started to eat his food , keeping his eyes on everyone discreetly "Far too quiet..someone prank the Dorks, please.." he mock begged then chuckled softly.
Going back to eating he spots what happened earlier as the slytherin girl forced the griffindork to sit at his own table, then hearing the students threaten the dork, he sighs "Bunch of morons..if you want to target the newbie, go ahead just don't get caught and don't lose us points." He stared at the two who spoke out with a fierce glare "I -do not- want to lose the house cup nor the quidditch cup to any other house for the next seven years, if we do I know who to punish.." he said keeping the glare on the two then scoffed and went back to his food.

The Slytherin Table 2017 - 2018
The black haired girl walked towards the Slytherin table overhearing the conversation between the Slytherin girl and the Gryffindor boy. Aravis took a seat near Marcus with a bored expression on her face. "I don't want lose points either. Some of us work rather hard to earn them rather than losing them." The statement was followed with an eye roll. Her tone seemed cold and annoyed. Normally she sat as far away from everyone as possible. However, today she decided to actually socialize. She ate a bite of her food and discovered that this was not the type of food she liked. Aravis looked down at her plate with a slight glare. Trying everything else on the plate she found out she was overly picky about food. There was plenty on the plate yet she only liked one thing on it.
"This is certainly not like food at my house." She muttered extremely quietly to herself. She finished the bit she actually enjoyed and pushed around the rest with her fork having nothing better to do. Her short attention span declared it was time to find something better to do. "Anything interesting happen at the table today? So far I find it boring." She said looking over to him.
