Ever heard of silence
Role with @Wyatt Starkey
To all professors, prefects, and anyone else; yes we both know we will get in trouble for being out after curfew but could you just let it go on for a bit since we both have a bit planned for this thread and getting in trouble/detention is included in the plan, Thanks.
Date: September 3rd, 2020
Time: 8:00 P.M.
It was already the third night back at hogwarts and the night after the first full moon of the term, so Henry looked a bit tired from his transformation the night before but thankfully he doesn't look sickly or pale anymore. However something was troubling the second year as he was atop the astronomy tower, leaning on the rails and looking at the night sky with no thought of the curfew, he had his mind focus on that summer holiday and his father's family the; Alluring's. Usually Henry would already be in bed and afraid that he will get a detention but now he couldn't care less as bigger thoughts enter his head and he couldn't see past them.
Henry enjoyed the silence as he lean on the rails up their alone and let his anxiety and thoughts consume him, before the year begun he had made a promise to himself that he will keep his summer holiday or most of it and his life a secret, he would hide it away from everyone and would isolate his emotions and thoughts from the others to. If any of his friends were there or near him when ever he was sulking then they would see that something was wrong and most likely bug Henry with their worries and concerns. Two things that Henry didn't want as he stood there in the astronomy tower, alone and not suspecting anyone else to join him or bother him. Besides maybe a professor but he would be out of there in a minute or two, or would he would have as he continue to stare at the night sky.

For the record, the plan wasn’t exactly to get in trouble within the first week of his second year. He was planning on waiting for the third or fourth week to start sneaking out like he used to when he couldn’t fall sleep, or when he had nightmares. But since his mother’s passing, he’d been unable to sleep more than three hours a night. The mixture of insomnia and apathy led him to the Astronomy Tower after curfew.
Normally, he’d walk the halls, and see what it would be like to go to Hogwarts as the only student in the whole school, but he wanted something new. He wanted to see the stars. Naturally, that desire took him up (too many stairs) to the Astronomy Tower. There, he noticed another figure. Around his height, so it was a second-year, a tall first-year, or a short third-year. That really narrowed it down, huh.
It was hard to tell anything else from the silhouette. Wyatt was curious, so he spoke up. “Are you a ghost or a student?” If anything, that would get the kid to turn around. It would be easier, then, to make fun of them. Maybe it was mean to jump to that in a first meeting, but it was bound to happen at some point, wasn’t it? If you never got insults hurled at you by Wyatt Starkey, did you really even go to Hogwarts?

Ever heard of silence
Henry was to focus on his thoughts to realize another student has entered the astronomy tower and it was when they spoke that Henry noticed, that's a odd and stupid question to ask someone, Henry was already in a sour mood because of his family or his father's family and his now hidden life so for the first time he didn't jump at the voice but instead just turn around to and stepped a bit closer to the figure to see it was a pale and skeleton looking boy who Henry recognized as Wyatt Starkey. The fellow 2nd year slytherin already has a reputation as one of the meanest and darkest Slytherin's out there, it was people like Wyatt who gave us a bad name, Henry has spent all of his first year trying and successful avoiding him but now in his second year, he couldn't have care less since he has so much on his mind at the moment.
Henry continued to look at Wyatt, to see why he was up here and silently think about the some of the rumours about the boy, one being he had ties with dark wizards or is related to a death eater. Henry however was never one to believe in rumours as he spoke " I'm a student, that quite a odd question to ask don't you think?" Henry took one last moment to look at Wyatt before turning back to the rails of the astronomy tower and leaning upon them as he looked up at the sky, it was there he said " so why are you here, Skelton?" Henry has never insulted someone before so that was new to him but the boy did sort of look like a skeleton and he had a feeling that he would insult him back.

“Better safe than sorry,” Wyatt mumbled at the other boy’s comment about how odd his question was. Apparently this kid knew nothing about Hogwarts. You always had to be careful. You don’t want an awkward run in with a ghost. The student before Wyatt looked familiar, but Wyatt couldn’t put a name to the face. Before Wyatt could form an insult, the kid started talking.
"So why are you here, Skelton?" Skeleton? Sure, he’d gotten comments on his frame before, but Skeleton, though not very creative, was a new one. “Well, I came here likely for the same reason you did. To look at the stars and think, right?” Wyatt sighed as he walked over to the ledge the other boy leaned on. He kept his distance, maybe stayed a few feet apart.
Leaning on the ledge to the right of the kid and looking up at the sky, he said, “Maybe I’m wrong.” The kid next to him looked very familiar, but Wyatt couldn’t really put his finger on where he’d seen the boy. Maybe they were in the same house? It was clear the other boy recognized Wyatt from the moment he saw him, but it made sense. Wyatt had a reputation. A bad one at that.
It was difficult to find an insult to hurl at the kid. He was good looking, spoke well. Maybe a bit rude, but Wyatt wasn’t the person to call people out on their behavior, his was bad enough. Wyatt absent-mindedly traced the scars on the right side of his face. Though Wyatt came to look at the stars, he ended up looking down and admiring the ground below.

Ever heard of silence
Henry heard Wyatt or what he liked to call him; Skelton speak again but this time mention that he came up to the astronomy tower for the same reason as Henry; to admire the stars. Henry shook his head a bit while he thought, no that can't be right. I heard the rumours and reputation of him before, he was one slytherin who I tried to avoid all of my first year because I was afraid but then how could he act seemly nice maybe I shouldn't have called him Skelton. Maybe he just has a lot on his mind like me and he's not really his reputation, he just has a bad life, something that I now know of. But still most of my friends had a bad encounter with him and he was said to be truly mean, some say he's even practicing dark magic.
As Henry continued to think, he saw the boy moved next to him with just a few feet between then when he muttered something about being around. Henry looked at him for a couple more minutes before looking back at the sky, he still had a lot on his mind and wouldn't have like it to be bother while also he didn't want others to know what he was hiding, especially Wyatt so Henry spoke while still looking at the night sky " why I'm here is my business, and my business alone," Henry thought it sounded a bit mean which was new to him since he in all his life was never mean or rude before as he continued " just like how your business is your business, so let's just leave it at that Skeleton."
Henry wasn't use to sounding mean or rude and he didn't know what to do, he thought he should apologize but then he also thought that Wyatt might call him out or push him around or bully him or attack him or something like that, Henry tried to keep a blank face while his anxiety filled his head and surrounded him. It was hard through since he was confuse what to do about Wyatt and uncertain about what to do with the situation concerning his family so he just spoke quietly " I know who you are Skeleton, so it's only fair that you know who I am," Henry paused as he continued to look at the stars and think before continuing again " My names Henry, a 2nd year slytherin like yourself," He didn't say mate at the end which was unusual for him since he always said it and he didn't say his last name either while he did feel like remaining nameless and family less at least for the time being.

"My names Henry, a 2nd year Slytherin like yourself." Wyatt looked up from the ground but didn’t look at Henry. Wyatt just hummed a small, “hm.” It was obvious Henry already knew who he was, the boy even said it himself, so Wyatt didn’t see the point in introducing himself. It was funny, how Henry claimed to “know” Wyatt. No one really knew him, no one took the time to. That and Wyatt didn’t let people get to know him. He was… private about his life. He liked it that way.
If it wasn’t clear by now, Wyatt wasn’t a huge fan of Mr. Henry. There was really no reason behind it, but Wyatt just didn’t like him very much. “You’re a bit snippy aren’t you,” a judgment-filled tone laced in every word. Wyatt wasn’t one to talk in the situation (at all), but he hated being quiet, especially when he had so much on his mind. “You don’t even know me and you have an attitude. Why? Because of a few rumors. How predictable.” Wyatt grinned, looking down at the ground again.
Wyatt wasn’t very different at all from other kids, he was just a little worse than them. A little more aware of what the world is really like. Angry at the Earth and the people in it. But that didn’t make him special. It made him a mean person, and he knew it. It was just difficult to step out of old habits. It was easier to stay where he was, and to cling to whatever pride he had left. Even though it made him unbearable most of the time. It was easier. Wyatt liked things that were easy.

Henry heard the boy speak but he didn't really care since he has bigger problems to deal with, a life to keep hidden from others and the last thing he wanted was someone like Wyatt getting in the way and ruining everything which was the last thing the second year wanted as he continue to lean on that rail encased in his own anxiety like a owl locked in it's cage dreaming of freedom but never fully getting it, the thought made him sick since now his life was like a owl stuck in a cage with no where to go.
Henry always thought he had a happy childhood, that while his family didn't have much money they did have memories and happiness despite a few unpredictable and cruel memories that made the scar on his chest string. Henry try not to think of it as the necklace under his shirt touch his scar with it's coldness that made Henry remember, remember his mum and his old life, the one he lost over the summer. Somehow even if Arthur said everything would go back to normal, he knew that they won't and he knew that soon they would see that and their family would fall apart again which is what made Henry anxious and filled his mind to the brim that he didn't care about anything else which is why he sounded a bit mean to Wyatt.
Henry scanned over the boy and saw a scar on his face as he wondered how he got it, before turning back to the night sky and speaking again " I'm not one to believe rumours," he took a breath as he look upon the dozens of stars that filled the night sky before speaking again "but how predictable of you to assume I would have a attitude against you because of a few rumors." Henry laughed a bit before speaking again " my attitude, is that what you call it? Isn't because of you or some rumours," Henry didn't think he should saw more as he took a breath but then he spoke again " it's a part of my business and my business alone, skeleton. Which has nothing to do with you nor or rumours." Henry continue to look upon the night sky as he thought he heard foot steps approaching them but wasn't sure as he wasn't paying attention to it.

"It's a part of my business and my business alone, skeleton. Which has nothing to do with you nor rumours." Wyatt scoffed at my business and my business alone, but chuckled lowly at skeleton. “Is this your first time being intimidating,” Wyatt asked, gravity pulling his messy hair down in front of his eyes like curtains as he stared at the grassy ground below the tower. Wyatt was feeling a little loopy, having been awake for 19 hours.
After sighing, Wyatt said, “If you’d like to be all mysterious and whatnot we can stand here in silence.” Usually, silence was good. It was where you could find peace. But these days it was far more difficult for Wyatt to clear his head than it used to be. Silence was bad now. Silence meant thinking. Wyatt knew he had things to think about and to process but it was too difficult. It was easier to fill the days with rude remarks or sarcastic comments.
Instead of thinking about something of value, he used an old trick. A song started playing in his head, but unlike every other time he used this technique, he couldn’t name the song. It was strange. It was in his head, wasn’t it? Still, he couldn’t quite put his finger on it. Apparently, he was just out of it, but it was late. Losing your mind at night was common, wasn’t it? Because your brain is being overworked. Tired brain?
It barely mattered what it was called. Wyatt barely thought twice before taking the longest hike to the top of the Astronomy Tower, what if they were caught? Getting caught could hardly be worse than having to deal with this kid for the last few minutes... but what if it was? Unfortunately, Wyatt's conscience kicked in too late and now there he was on the tower with some Slytherin. But then, Wyatt realized something.
He didn't care. He knew he should. A voice in the back of his head was telling him he should, but he just barely cared about what it was saying. The voice was telling him to get back to the dorm, but that took a lot of work, and Wyatt was already on the Astronomy Tower. If he had his way, he would stay there all night. Who cares? What's the worst that could possibly happen, detention? Wyatt smiled at the ground at this realization.
Everything is just so much easier when you stop caring about it, Wyatt thought in silence. This is the kind of dumb conclusion Wyatt can come to if he thinks in silence. He'd become quite apathetic recently, but now that he really thought about it, it was like he was reaching his full potential... of not reaching his full potential.

Was this Henry's first time being intimidating? Well yes technically it was and usually Henry was a kind and quiet person but today he felt lost and isolated from others that he didn't care what he said and who he said it to even if they could cause him damage and was technically the wrong person to be on the bad side of. Still, Henry has never acted intimidating before so he was new at this and wasn't quite sure how to do it and he wasn't even aware that he was doing it which frightened him the most but opened his eyes to something new. Could the shy and anxious boy act intimidating, Henry doubted it since he wasn't even aware that he was doing it and according to Wyatt or Skeleton he was doing rather a bad job at it so Henry decided to stop if he ever was but he wasn't really aware that he was doing it so stopping? Henry didn't quite know how to stop or if he should say; Hey sorry about the way I acted man but I would like to apology and wonder if we could start over?
Henry ignored his thoughts and feelings as he stared at the night sky, there were so many stars that were shining out that night. Usually he wouldn't be able to see half that amount back at Liverpool but at Hogwarts he could see all them and it brought him peace, it reminded him of his life back at godric hollow before his family moved. Henry loved godric hollow even through he only had one friend that he somehow had forgotten and erased from his memory by accident, he still loved it. Not because of the famous history but mostly because of the mix if magical and non-magical community and the fact that right outside of his door there laid an amazing forest that was filled with magical and non-magical creatures alike. However the reason why he missed godric hollow the most was because of an oak tree, that tree was his favorite spot to read or just think. It was his mum's favorite spot and whenever he had to be alone, that was where the young boy would go.
The stars at Hogwarts reminded Henry of his home and all the memories that he had there, but it also added more reason why he was angry at his father. Henry heard Wyatt speak again and without thinking he replied with an annoyed tone " I didn't even think you knew what silence meant Skeleton," Henry was horrified that the words just spewed from his mouth without him thinking at first. He hid his horror as he just spoke without thinking first and probably just made another fellow slytherin hate his guts which is not what the slytherin needed during his second year since he had enough on his mind already. Henry thought maybe he should apology or take it back but what if that made it worse as he looked up at the sky while skill comtemping what he should do now.
Henry could feel his anxiety looming over his head about to fall down on him like a rain cloud wat8ng to pour down on the grounds. Henry kept on thinking about what to say, he made two lists of pros and cons but still didn't know what and now instead of thinking of his hidden life and family. He was thinking about how it fix what he spoke to Wyatt and with all this extra anxiety he spoke again without thinking or knowing " so what brings you up here skeleton? Were you planning to save others the trouble of dealing with you for another year and leave tonight." Henry was horrified that he spoke again without thinking and as his mind was working overtime he hoped that he didn't soraka again.

@Henry Knight and @Wyatt Starkey
Kateri had been in her tower that evening as with any other, office hours tended to run a little longer than she expected them too at times so often she would be sure to have set up for class ahead of time and prepare for a long night. As per usual, the main door to the classroom was open since the professor would be residing in the tower for the evening, though the above observation deck was still locked with an enchantment to keep out any curious students. Though she was aware of some students trying to sneak their way into the tower only to be surprised when Kateri poked her head out from behind her shelves, or returned from a back room to find them leaning close to the magical barrier that surrounded the tower, invisible to the eye as well as their fear as the students peered over the railing. More often than naught, the young woman would allow students to have their moment or conversation before interrupting.
Often they would jump in shock, not realizing that when they thought they had been alone, the young woman was actually busy working away on research, future lectures or helping another student that had come to talk or take advantage of her office hours. Tonight seemed no different, after her class was finished for the evening should she have one, another young student would find their way to the tower. Observing them for awhile, since she was still in the tower as per her office hours and clearly these two boys were too wrapped up in their conversation to notice she had been there the entire time, Kateri finally walked over, arms crossed in front of her waist, Kateri would smile and ask them, "Did you need something? It is rather late and far past curfew by the looks of it." Should they require assistance with homework or the like, have a question of their own, need a place to quietly study or read, or possibly an ear to listen, Kateri would offer it to them. Otherwise she would make it known that it was reaching curfew, if not already past the clearly stated 10 o’clock curfew set in place at Hogwarts and let them know they needed to return to their dorm. Whether with her assistance or without, either could easily be arranged.
OOC Note: Popping in to see what you guys are up to. I know you want to 'be in trouble' so if you would like to respond and end up with just a simple IC detention (not a legitimate one where you cannot post elsewhere until you finish...) Make note of that so I can reply accordingly. Thank you both!
