Chess Combat, Game 3
The failure of Adam's healing charm was a disappointment — but, unfortunately, no longer a surprise. He watched the faint glow at the end of his wand fizzle out uselessly and his spirits sank, realizing what this meant for his team's leader. The Durmstrang boy was already looking pretty unsteady; Adam's support could've kept him going for another round or so, if he'd been a better wizard. Unfortunately, he wasn't, and he could do nothing to save the queen or their team's hopes of victory as he watched Nichlas collapse.
Adam dropped his wand in defeat, realizing too late that doing so had left himself defenseless. A staggering impact knocked him back a step or two. He didn't know who had finally decided to direct some of their attention his way, but it didn't exactly matter now. He shook off most of the Knockback Jinx's resultant dizziness and saw his classmates start to break away from their squares: the game was officially over. The loss was weighing heavily on the boy, but he tried to smile as he regrouped with his team. They'd put up a good fight, after all — it just wasn't good enough. Even telling himself that, Adam knew that it was going to take a few days to stop feeling guilty over his failure to save Nichlas in time.
It did help to see Oliver's cardboard armor fall away, leaving him almost completely naked on the field. Just a little bit.
Professor Zahid was directing them to a first-aid tent nearby where they could get patched up, but Adam hovered by Nichlas uncertainly, wondering if he should help his teammate out. He wasn't actually sure if he'd be able to carry the boy to the tent and he was afraid to try it. With Adam's luck, he'd end up dropping Nichlas on the head halfway there. After a moment's deliberation, Adam sat down next to the unconscious student. He'd just wait here for a while and make sure nothing else went wrong. It was the least he could do.
Once he was sure that Nichlas was in good hands, Adam said goodbye to his remaining teammates. It had been a good time overall, he supposed. He saw Amadea practically everyday, being tent-mates and all, but he hadn't seen Alexx in a while, and Cecily spent plenty of time with her Quidditch team. It had been a fun get-together while it lasted. Making sure that he had remembered to retrieve his wand, Adam looked over the giant checkerboard once more before leaving it behind.

Chess Combat, Game 3
|| Knocked Out ||
Nichlas has lost before, of course he did but never like this. This was shameful and a disgrace. His team had let him down by their incompetence to cast even a couple of spells correctly but what else could he have expected from students of a school that had their doors opened for everything that breathed. He wouldn't be surprised to be finding a muggle roaming the Hogwarts halls if he were to step foot in the castle. What a shame as it was such a beautiful place with a lot of history. But as he felt a couple more spells hit into him, knocking him backwards and bruising his body, he could feel the air being pressed out of his lungs as his mind was wiped blank and lastly his eyes fluttered close. The impact of the knock-back made his unconscious form stumble back as he crumpled to the floor like a paper that had been tossed aside. He was done for but he would remember each of their faces to make sure revenge would eventually be served and as the saying goes; revenge is a dish best served cold.
