Starlee watched as the boy quickly hopped in their boat and introduced himself. He seemed friendly, smiling at her and the other girl with her. Starlee's jaw dropped a little when he started talking about the magical people at Hogwarts. She had met a few when traveling with her father for healing, but she never thought they would be here at school too! She was clearly impressed by Remi, and it showed.
Starlee pondered his query... and listened closely to Jess's response. "I'm not sure about him..." she said, taking a look at Mr. Iwasaki. "Something about him... feels off. I don't think we did anything bad... we've only just arrived! And he is the caretaker, why wouldn't he like first years? His job is to literally teach at a school! If I didn't like kids, I certainly wouldn't apply to be a teacher...." Starlee said, thinking about it logically. It was at this point that her inquisitive nature began to take over, and she barely noticed the final boy hopping into their boat.
"You know, I think there is something else going on here... and I want to get to the bottom of it." She bit her lip as was customary when she went into her problem solving 'mode.' She took a few seconds to herself to ponder, then realized that she hadn't even introduced herself, or responded back to Jess. It was also at this point she noticed the other boy in the boat. He seemed to want to be left alone, so she turned to face Jess and Remi.
"I'm Starlee by the way." Starlee said, smiling at the two of them. "Oh, Jess, you are a muggle-born? I'm almost in the same boat...My parents were originally from the US, but they moved to Scotland before I was born. My mom's a muggle, and my dad's a wizard, but he went to Ilvermourny. So I at least know about magic... just nothing about Hogwarts." She said, perhaps feeling like she was oversharing. She then responded, ""Oh wow, I didn't even realize there was a Summer Camp!" with genuine interest. "How was it?" she asked. She then turned to Remi and asked him, 'So do your siblings go to Hogwarts too?"

Action: attempting to climb into Boat 3
The Hogwarts Express gently pulled to a halt. Elisabeth stood up after she was sure that the train had stopped completely, smiling to the students sharing a compartment with her and waving them a "see you later". She stepped off, not really knowing which way to go. Luckily for her, she heard a voice instructing, ""Incoming first years, come this way! Leave your luggage behind!"
The Hispanic-Asian girl followed the booming voice and found herself, among other first-years, looking at two adults. The man who had been shouting instructions introduced himself as Mr Iwasaki, and the woman next to him Professor Jensen. "Only four to a boat," Mr Iwasaki gave another instruction.
Elisabeth saw there were several wooden boats, most of them were still empty. Remi Yao, a boy who had shared compartment with her in the Hogwarts Express, had made himself at home in a boat with three girls. Elisabeth had to admit that she was somehow glad: if the boat were not full, Remi might would invite her to join in, but she had had enough of his loudness for one day.
Now the girl was between climbing into a currently-empty boat, or joining one that had been filled with two other students. After did a quick thinking in her head, Elisabeth decided that perhaps joining the two would be better.
"Perdone," she called the boy and the girl in Boat 3, "would you two be alright with a quiet boat ride? I shared a compartment with someone loud earlier and can use a more quiet trip. If no, then I'll take another boat, don't worry." After saying all that, Elisabeth gave them a sweet smile (and unconsciously perhaps activating her part-Veela charm? She didn't know.), hoping that they would understand that she was trying to be polite even though she was also being straightforward.

Robert had always loved bodies of water, which was a trait he'd gotten from his mother. Although they almost never traveled, the couple times that they had gone on vacation were normally to some beach near London. Robert loved to stand on the beach, feeling the waves lap over his feet and looking out at the impossibly big expanse of water. He was reminded of these moments while sitting in the empty boat, waiting to start moving towards Hogwarts. It was a very odd feeling that he had, the excitement and nervousness of going to Hogwarts combined with the feeling of peace that he always got from being around water. The curiousness about the Giant Squid he'd read about just added to the weird mix of feelings.
Robert was pulled from his thoughts as another student approached the boat he was in. "Hey, can I join you?" she asked with a smile.
Robert immediately started to stand up to greet her, but then felt the boat start to rock, and he sat back down. He settled for a friendly wave instead. "Of course! I'm Robert, Robert Toukmond. What's your name?" he asked. He extended a hand, for the double purpose of shaking her hand and helping her into the boat.
Another girl then approached their boat and asked if they'd be okay with a quieter boat trip. Robert was a bit disappointed as he'd been excited to get to know new people, but he was too polite to say anything. He greeted the other girl in a similar fashion to how he'd greeted the first. However, he had learned his lesson and did not try to stand up this time to greet her. "Fine with me," he said as he tried to hide his disappointment. "As I just said, my name is Robert Toukmond. What's your name?" he asked again, extending the same hand as before.

Elisabeth took Robert's hand, shaking it and thanked him for helping her getting into the boat. "Elisabeth, nice to meet you, Robert," she introduced herself. Wanted to appear friendly, she smiled again, and honestly told him, "I think that's a very nice name."
Sitting down, she smiled at the other girl in the boat, who had been quiet so far. "And you're...? I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch your name."
She looked at both students, and felt that they were a little... scared of her? Was she being too straightforward, asking them if they would mind a quiet boat ride? The girl sighed. There she goes again, really her parents' daughter - same blatant honesty, same introvert-ness (which made her needed peace and quiet after interacting with loud people, like that fellow first-year Remi just earlier).
"Um, I mean," the Asian-Hispanic girl stuttered, trying to ease up the atmosphere, "we can have a chat... only... not too loud." She was not sure whether to add "and not too sensitive", partly because of the wording itself, so she did not say anything more.
And what was more, she was certain the two were not interested in listening to her tiredness for having a slight debate on a sensitive issue on the earlier train ride ("Are Muggles mean?" asked one of the students who shared her compartment. Well, Elisabeth had a deep connection with Muggles, lots of them were very nice!). So she figured, it might be better to wait for others to talk now.

Remi, who was smiling radiantly with pride, was quite happy that he could be the knowledgeable one in this little boat group. He knew that being in the center of attention was something he liked as it felt new to him.
Newly great, it was something he could get used to!He said again, saying it more slowly for Jess and others to repeat if they so wished,"Dhampirs."Remi thought for a little bit. Now when actually thinking, he didn't know exactly what they were but using his brain and taking an estimated guess, he explained,"They're like, uh-"He said assuredly before changing the subject to the two Muggle-borns, which he looked impressed with them."They're like boot-leg vampires. Yeah, pretty much."He looked almost fascinated,"Hmm, usually Muggle-borns don't know that word."Looking over at Starlee, he shook his head but he was still radiantly smiling,"That's so cool!"He added on, knowing that most students would ask where Ivory Coast was,"Nope! First Yao to get into Hogwarts. All of my family, including me, was born in Ivory Coast. Just think of West Africa."He said off-handedly, his attention was off at one of the other boats again."I moved here, London when I was really young. All of my sisters were too old to get into Hogwarts and they had tutors to help them with their wizarding stuff like their OWLs..."
But not the teacher's boat, but rather the third student boat. Maybe it being foolishly to try to stand up in a boat that was out in a cold lake, but when Remi saw Elisabeth on the other boat, he couldn't miss his chance to say hi again!
Standing up (or trying to), he would try to yell across the boats,He roared, with a silly smile on his face as he waved wildly at her. He hoped that she would see him from this angle."ELISABETH!"

Rohan had been very sleepy the whole way to Hogwarts. He did like the conversation - well... the information he gave to the others - on the train, but was really looking forward to a cozy bed now. He was nervous. Would he be in Slytherin? He hoped not. He expected to be in Gryffindor. He felt kind of brave, and his father thought his personality would fit it perfectly. But what did his father know about him?Action:Entering boat 3

He had some trouble packing his little backpack, to make it easier for the elves, so he came out of the train a little late. Some of the other's were already in boats, and he tried to find Elisabeth, a girl he had met on the train, who he liked. The impressive man, who appeared to be the gamekeeper of Hogwarts, told them to hop into the boats, four maximum. He constantly seemed to keep an eye on the moon. Could he-? No.. probably not... Rohan didn't pay much attention to the other adult, since he was looking for the others from his compartment in the train.
Eventually he found Elisabeth in one of the boats, together with another boy and girl. He gave them a friendly smile and asked: "Do you mind if I join you all?" He did not quite wait for an answer, and hopped in, hoping the other 3 wouldn't mind. He felt a little less nervous with a known person with him. "I'm Rohan. I heard you are Robert? I heard you from a distance. And you are..?" he asked to the girl he didn't know yet, "and of course Elisabeth."
He suddenly heard the boy he shared a compartment with shout Elisabeth's name. He felt a misplaced sense of shame. Why did he do this? Was he really as stupid as he though, to stand up in a boat? He was a little confused.

Akari stood outside the boat waiting for the boy’s answer.
"Of course! I'm Robert, Robert Toukmond. What's your name?"
He reached out his hand to her.
She took his extended hand and shook it then continued holding it and carefully stepped into the boat and made sure she was balancing before sitting down and replying
“Pleasure to meet you Robert, I’m Akari Kato”
Akari turned to look at the girl who had called out to them asking for a quiet boat ride. She hoped the girl wouldn’t mind if they talked a little bit because she had really wanted to make some new friends. So she nodded politely and moved a little bit to make room for the girl.
"And you're...? I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch your name."
The girl who just climbed in the boat asked her, to which Akari quickly reached out her hand then gave her a small smile and responded
“I am Akari Kato”
Yet another boy boarded the boat meaning that the boat would now be full.
"I'm Rohan. I heard you are Robert? I heard you from a distance. And you are..?"
He had looked at Akari. Her response was quite similar to when she greeted Elisabeth, she held her hand out for him to shake and smiled and said
“Hello Rohan, My name is Akari Kato”
Although Akari didn’t completely show it she was very excited but quite nervous about the trip with these other students. Butterflies fluttered around in her stomach as she looked around at the students and then into the distance wondering when they would start the journey up to the castle.

Descending from the train onto the platform, Ellen followed the group of first-year students down to where the boats are docked. And for a moment, she stood there stunned before being nudged along. She never expected the ride to take as long as it did, first of all. Perhaps it was part of the experience; the travel making her feel as though she were entering a new magical place. But, with magic making things faster and quicker, she thought they’d zoom by and arrive at the school hours earlier. But, seeing how the night added a layer of chill to the unknown, she found herself appreciating the ride far more.Action: Getting onto boat 4
The night was beautiful, if not a little scary. Looking up she saw the stars in the sky, something she’d always seen little of back in London since everything was so bright as to blot out everything save a few bright stars and the moon. Which was nearly full this night. And unlike back home, she could see most of the stars now. Arrayed in a meshed cluster that looked more like a mess than anything. But extraordinarily beautiful in its own way.
Bringing her eyes back down after stumbling a few times, she realized they’d made it to where the students would embark on boats. Her parents told her about this. And she watched as some of the students went on the first few, filling them up quickly. So she decided to get on a fourth mostly empty one, sitting at the very front and with a wide grin on her face.

Robert was terrible at names, a fact that he'd learned to hate and accept. However, he did feel like he should at least be able to remember names of the three other first-years on the boat with him. "So, you're Rohan," he said while gesturing towards the other redhead. "You're Akari," pointing to the first girl who'd joined him. "And you're-"
He suddenly heard a voice from one of the other boats. ""ELISABETH!"" Robert looked over and saw a boy standing up and waving at them.
"Erm, yes, Elisabeth." Robert remembered something Elisabeth had said earlier about there having been a very loud student in her compartment on the Hogwarts Express. "I guess that's who you were talking about before?" Robert chuckled a bit. "I can understand why you'd want a bit of a quieter ride."
Robert just realized what had happened. The loud kid wasn't just standing on the boat, he was also wildly waving his arms around. Robert remembered that when he had tried to stand earlier, he'd almost fallen over, and then, he hadn't even been moving around much. "I have a feeling he's going to regret doing that," Robert said with a sly grin. There was almost no chance that the shouting student would not finish the boat ride without getting a bit wet. Were Robert’s thoughts a bit mean? They probably were. However, there was nothing Robert despised more in the world than foolish people who never felt the repercussions for their actions.

The other girl turned out to be called Akari Kato. "Hi. I'm Elisabeth," she shook the girl's hand before remarking, "Interesting name you have, by the way." Elisabeth could not help but smile. She was not laughing at the other student's name, and she knew very well it must mean something wonderful. But there is another fact you could not deny: often, words or names in another language remind one of a certain word in his or her mother tongue. In Elisabeth's case, Akari's name reminded her of the Indonesian word akar, which means "root". For her, it was as if Akari's name meant "to put down roots" or "to be a pioneer", which, when she thought about, was not a bad meaning for a name.
And then Rohan, who had shared a compartment with Elisabeth in the Hogwarts Express, came to join the three of them. Elisabeth was glad. So far, Rohan had made a good impression on her: he was quiet, careful, and was not nosy.
Remius, on the other hand, waved at her wildly while also shouting her name into the evening air like mad. Elisabeth gave him a weak smile and a small wave, and then turned her eyes back to Robert, Akari, and Rohan. At the very moment, the Hispanic-Asian girl understood why her mamá (according to her story) had felt terribly embarrassed when a friend came visiting to her Muggle university and accidentally pressed the Emergency Button in a gents' room, resulting in people with good intention rushing in.
"I guess that's who you were talking about before? I can understand why you'd want a bit of a quieter ride," said Robert, chuckling slightly. Elisabeth gave him a non-verbal thank-you with her smile, glad that he understood her feelings. After that, the brown-haired boy spoke out again, this time with a sly grin, "I have a feeling he's going to regret doing that."
Elisabeth felt a little guilty, but she was pleased that Robert seemed to hope so. That ought to teach the Ivory Coast kid to be more sensible and quiet in the future, she thought.
"You guys are all from around here?" she asked her boat-mates, hoping to have a friendly, not-so-loud little chat with them.
