RPing as Evanore Fairclay (Ilvermorny)
Charmer & FearlessTeam white was one player down. The redhead had been the target of too many spells, and she had fallen to the floor. Evanore didn’t know this girl, but she couldn’t help but feel a slight sting of guilt, even though she hadn’t even been the one who caused her downfall. On the other hand, Evanore felt a rush of excitement and pride, knowing that so far their team was doing great. They had the upper hand for now.[/font]Action: Doing as Strategized

She surprised herself that her spell actually landed and hit its target. Unfortunately, she was now without a target, but that was alright. She was going to do her best to survive this damned duel if it was the last thing she did. But she knew that she was now a target and that only made her more determined. She looked over her teammates and sighed heavily when she saw one of her teammates fall unconscious. She felt a bit guilty that she didn't, or couldn't, do much to help her teammate out. Hopefully the others and herself will be able to turn the tables on the opposite team soon.

It all happened in a blur. He had set his intended opponent on fire. Although it wasn't strong the girl to his right had also managed to cast the flame-making spell on him as well. Now he was on fire, twice and burning for a little while. That was good progress and he nodded to himself in approval. Another thing that worried him however was the fact that one of their teammates had fallen. The boy had barely noticed her health drop until the girl lay unconscious on the floor.
His heartbeat skipped a beat at the sight. He knew that with one player down their survival rate was going to get hurt rather quickly. The tides would changed again and he would be in trouble. Milo was going to be lucky if he got to survive another round or two. The boy closed his eyes to try and calm his breathing before opening them and scanning the board. He noticed the girl from earlier who had drained his health and narrowed his eyes as she crept forward. His eyes widened as he realized she was in attacking zone. The boy had to make up his decision on what to do fast for he might soon be out of the game.

As Karilyna moved to raise her wand yet again, she paused, lips pursed. But why? The Thunderbird hardly pitied anyone, or made the effort to express sympathy; such feelings had pretty much never been extended towards her, after all, so why would others need it? Besides, last time she'd checked, nobody liked being pitied. Right? Something like that. Still, in all honesty and fairness, she couldn't help but feel bad for the redheaded girl across from her [Katrina], whom she'd hit time after time without mercy nor reason. She'd never seen the girl with the teal streak, held no grudge, and thus had absolutely no rational reason to target her.
Okay, but this was a duel. She blinked quickly, bringing herself back to the game, glad that she had amended her worries with a surprisingly logical argument. Was it fun to be hit with spells? Well, no, but what was a duel without spells? The raven-haired girl brought her wand up in front of her at last, the incantation falling from her lips. "Flipendo." It had proven to work a few times, and the girl was counting on it to succeed as well as the ones preceding it.
Just like that, a beam of light sent the redhead flying backwards through the air. Piece of cake. Karilyna turned her attention away, on her guard for any attacks coming her way. Honestly, being the queen, it was quite the pleasant surprise nobody'd hit her yet. Of course, she was well protected, since she'd practically been walled in by people who were as tall as… well, walls. But that was because her teammates were smart. The black team knew how to play this game.
The redhead, though, didn't get up, meaning Karilyna had knocked her out with one too many Flipendos. Oops. She winced, glancing at the unmoving figure lying prone on the ground. Despite Karilyna's indifference, a pang of guilt still shot through her, though it lasted only a moment. The thrill of competition quickly replaced the hesitation, though, and she turned her brown gaze away. After all, she hadn't meant to knock someone out so fast; while she might be the rightful queen of the black team, she was, quite frankly, a weak first year up against a team of second years. Besides, entering a duel was practically asking for pain. You evaded as best you could, and if you weren't fast enough, well, you'd be hit. Logic.
Bouncing lightly on the balls of her sneakers, she gripped her wand harder. Four out of five opposing players still remained on the board, and so they were far from done. She couldn't afford to get distracted by every little thing that happened ─ focus was key.

Round 610th of July 2020, 13:18
Chess Combat, Game TWO
The White Queen and White Rook aimed at the intruder — Neculai, who dared to step into the heart of the opponent's zone. Half of the time has passed and Alexei still couldn't collect himself properly to lay an attacking spell. With an opponent (and not just a regular human opponent) by his side, it was even less possible to concentrate. The spell wasn't produced. But Milosh's was. The flame erupted from his wand to travel in a burst towards Neculai, but it wasn't strong enough to set him aflame. Still hurt.
Bridget gave herself a pause from casting the previous round, probably to recover after the backfired spell. Probably not enough time has passed to fully recover as the next spell failed her as well, gladly no backfiring this time. This would be a hard hit if connected, but as it didn't Raine moved away from the direction of shooting to stand face-to-face with the Black Wolf team's Bishop.
Most spells definitely went Milosh's way as he found himself in almost the middle of the battlefield, surrounded by all players. Evanore's spell was dodged gracefully, but then Johannes really messed up and maybe stumbled upon something, but his Green Sparks Charm went Milosh's way instead of hitting Erik in the face. But even that spell was dodged lovely. The opponent's Queen, a cute little face, unleashed the demonic power from the depth of her child soul and channelled that power into another Flipendo, which cut through the air much faster than can be caught by the human eye. It hit so hard that probably the next thing Milosh would know — lying on the floor, knocked down.Team Compositions

Erik jogged over to his new position. Sizing up his opponents whilst he did. Now that his prey had bitten in the dust it seemed the whites were going after him now. Luckily for the werewolf he noticed this in time, but even then it didn't seem to be a thread. As he had flung it accidently to his own teammates. This caused Erik to laugh out loud. Fool! You can't even aim properly! What are you even still doing on the field?

Her spell failed. Again. Missing twice was one thing. Not even getting the spell out of her wand was a whole other, her only consolation being that the spell hadn't back-fired. The incoming third year, usually calm and collected, or at least capable of keeping her emotions in check, stamped her foot in frustration. She had thought herself to be good at this, more or less; maybe not at the level of their Queen, who was clearly an excellent spell-caster, but skilled enough to be a competitor in this game. But this? This looked like she hardly possessed the level of competency needed to cast a spell, much less aim properly.
Eyes narrowed, lips pressed into a thin line, Bridget definitely looked mad. More at herself than anyone else, but still mad. Right now there wasn't much else she could do besides keep casting, though, and she was most certainly not a quitter. Sucking in a deep breath, then letting it out to hopefully help her refocus, brush off the frustration, she squared her stance, shoulders back, wand at the ready. It was time to prove her worth in this game.

Neculai threw the spell at his target yet it seemed that it flew past him. "Ow come on!" The Dhampir yelled a tad frustrated. The flames of the other students seared his flesh. "AAAARGGGHHH!!!" A yell escaped him as the incendio from another opponent struck him. It burned so much that the Ravenclaw was landed on one knee. A scarlet drop made its way down his pale white face. The flames hurt him so much that it was hard to concentrate. Yet he had to give his all to prove to his team he could do this. Pushing himself back up he mustered once again all of his strength. Determined to do what had to be done.

The boy's eyes flickered to his target who was aflame from his last spell and then hit with his new one. His hands felt shaky, his pulse quick and eyes alert and racing around the field. Many spells were aimed in his direction and yet many missed him. All but one.
A strong flippendo knocked the boy off his feet and he landed on his back with a thud. A small yelp escaped from his lips as he banged his shoulder pretty rough on the ground. Milo's breaths were staggered, he was sore and in a bit of pain. He glanced behind to see their team's Queen still untouched. "I'm sorry I tried my best." The blonde boy gritted his teeth, fighting off his body's reaction to stay on the floor and black out. I said I wouldn't go down without a fight and I won't..
Milo thought to himself in his head. Without another second of hesitation he flashed his amber eyes open and slowly tried to rise, back into position. He steadied his breathing and clutched his wand, a bead of sweat dripping from his brow. Hoping he wouldn't be knocked back again or worse unconscious the next round was a silly thought. This was most likely his last move. A pathetic one at that was standing back up only to be blasted down again, but maybe, just maybe luck would be on his side for one more round.
