The Ravenclaw Table 2017-2018
Helle clenched her fists together, looking down in defeat. She moved to sit down and cover her face, embarrassed senselessly after her uncalled for assault on someone possibly innocent. When the slytherin boy mentioned her father, the image of the older male smiling came up in her mind, making her feel a sudden huge amount of shame. She hoped that word doesn't go out to her father about her misbehavior on her first day at Hogwarts.
She looked up and over that the teachers' table, questioning if anyone of them are planning on doing anything serious in discipline of her behavior, or worst, the headmaster will expel her later on. This wasn't how it was all supposed to go. She wanted to just sit quietly at her table and survive her first year on her own without any possible friends due to her family history and work her way up to fixing it.
But it won't be that easy, as it seems.
No, she just had to open her bloody mouth and speak and cause mayhem. Not only did she lose her hair on the first day of Hogwarts, but she also assaulted an innocent student to due to maddening amount of anger. She knew that she possibly got on the wrong end of the teachers', and the students here at Hogwarts, and if word spread, possibly everyone will know who she was truly.
Helle was truly ashamed of herself, and without warning and by accident, she blurted out words. "I'm sorry!" She spoke out, "I'm am so sorry! Because I couldn't control my anger, I let it out onto someone who didn't deserve it!" She didn't even know who she was speaking to, but didn't care who listened, as long as she gotten her feelings out. "This is wrong. All wrong! What will my father think...?" She moaned out, sounding ready to cry...again.
She hoped her awful nickname of 'Slug Girl' back in her Muggle childhood didn't advance into 'Crybaby' instead because of this.

The Ravenclaw Table 2017-2018
"You dare accuse me of losing everyone's hair?
Her certainty or lack thereof could not and would not be ascertained. She was not there on Marcus' behalf or behest, she could hardly stand the self-important heir. She nodded. She was not backing down. She was not reckless enough to back down from the lie once it was made nor was she foolhardy enough as to sell her fellow Slytherin out but she could not be held responsible if they figured it out on their own.
"Only my father is living, thank you very much. I have no care for a deceased woman who turned to dark magic and ruin my family name!"
She was really not helping herself at all anymore was she. Her facial expression would say it all. Helle scorned was doing more self-harm than she could, it was ironic. "I cannot think of a way of making that statement worse for you," she admitted in an awkward moment as she gav the rest of the Ravenclaw table a sideways glance. How was that going to effect her future interactions with her fellow Ravenclaws? From how she was acting she did not seem to care.
Marcus would make his deal. Erin was also seeking to try something, it was certainly not to save her but rather to -- well, she would find out if she accepted the invitation.
"You're the one who cast the spell?"
Helle accused. She was not wrong, that made it sort of funny.
"How else would you know the trick to it? Rotten snakes as usual!"
Erin started to laugh. Why was there such a stigma against Slytherin?
"Always causing problems for everyone else then running away when you're pointed out!"
"I do love how you are still continuing to accuse people when you yourself are being accused, especially when your accusations have no merit, sure I know a potion that can regrow hair, it is a future investment, I mean hell we learn how to remove warts and boils with a potion in class, I highly doubt we will ever use that potion but it is still there just encase."
Marcus was playing along with her game. One to place Ravenclaw into temporary disarray.
"Now it just seems like you are trying to accuse anyone, shame on you miss, shame..and they say Ravenclaws are smart, I never knew a Ravenclaw could be so devious though..trying to put the blame on a Slytherin who was only trying to help, once again shame on you... I'm sure your father would be ashamed of how you are going about things, unlike a Ravenclaw... But yes continue to accuse people with no evidence, I'm sure your house is loving how you are acting, you are in the house of knowledge, be knowledgeable miss"
She did not even need to lie at this point. "You're not right are you?" She was not going to lie, she tried to avoid it when she could. It was too difficult to remember false pretenses.
"It won't be me that's being thrown out of this school! It'll be one of you instead!"
She went on. Only one of them was acting like a crazy person. That was her intention of course, to let Helle make the first and the last move. Those were always the ones people remembered -- the first and last impression something or someone makes. "For...? Being the victim of an assault or yelling at you for assaulting me?" She was referring to herself of course. "Or for," god this statement was going to hurt Erin's soul "playing the role of a white knight by coming to a poor girl's defense." She was referring to Marcus. She hated talking him up, but doing so benefited her.
"Perhaps my...assault, was uncalled for, but it doesn't mean you guys are any better!"
Helle declared. She had a lot pf pride.
"I hope that one day karma hits you snakes hard!"
Something Marcus, of all people, said hit her hard. Erin could see it in her eyes. How they glaze over when someone is in thought. She was good at reading people but it was far from magic, it was simple parlor tricks. Like a visanta palm reader, a card shark or a charlatan, you did not require magic to do the things she did. She would wonder exactly what he said.
"I'm sorry! ...I'm am so sorry! Because I couldn't control my anger, I let it out onto someone who didn't deserve it!"
It was over and Marcus got all of the toys? Typical!
"This is wrong. All wrong! What will my father think...?"
She blurted out her weakness -- Daddy. It was something, just not what she wanted.
"It's cool," Erin muttered. This conflict had reached its resolution stage, something that she would need to accept with a quiet grace if she wanted to hide her flaws and short comings. If she wished to achieve her silent ambitions in these short years at Hogwarts. but dammit Marcus.

The Ravenclaw Table 2017-2018
Bloom watched the Slytherin, Marcus, walk away from the table. Did she make the right choice to owe him so much for the cure? Bloom got out of her head and saw that a first year Ravenclaw, Helle, was still exploding to the Slytherin girl and Marcus, forcing him to come back to our table. Bloom understood her anger, but she did not have any more energy to join in.
Bloom walked back to her spot at the Ravenclaw table opened her journal. She began to write her feelings of what was happening-- ignoring the outside world.
I don't know if I made the biggest mistake making a deal with Marcus... I just want my hair back after this stupid jinx that he-- or some other Slytherin made. I don't even know anymore. I'm just so--
Bloom stopped writing and looked up. The Slytherin girl was getting her attention and telling her that she should come with her and she would get her a hat. Bloom was confused. Wasn't all Slytherin's mean? She closed her journal and couldn't help but to question her. "Am I going to owe anything for your kindness?" she asked, figuring that maybe that was what Slytherin's now do.

The Ravenclaw Table 2017-2018
Alice walked up to the table, nervous to see all the faces looking at her after the sorting. It seemed as though some sort of commotion had just went on, but she decided it had nothing to do with her and steadfastly ignored it. Nervously, Alice fidgeted with the silver necklace at her throat with a simple eye pendant. It was a gift from her mother, handed down through generations, and she said it would give her luck.
Well, I'll need all the luck I can get... she tought, looking around nervously, wondering where to sit. Her sisters, of course, had warned her of the overwhelming feeling she might have after the sorting, but this was not what she expected. They said the house tables would be welcoming and comforting, but it seemed almost as if they all were absorbed with their own thoughts. Or maybe it was simply that Alice wasn't paying very much attention.
I wish I would have been sorted into Hufflepuff with Ashia and Carly she thought sourly, biting her lip. She could see her two best friends now, sitting together and chatting with what she could only assume was an older student. And a little down the same table she could see one of her older sisters, smiling a rather lot at a boy that was looking nervous. Alice was so preoccupied with all of this that she didn't even notice the friendly smile and waving hand in front of her until they called out "Hello?"

The Ravenclaw Table 2017-2018
Ethan looked over at the table which has cheered when his house was announced. Making an informed assumption, he headed over to that table. Oh boy, there are a lot of people here...I’ll be fine. He thought. Ethan sat down in an empty space, earning him a few pats on the back and some, “Welcome to Ravenclaw!”s. He felt slightly uncomfortable being in an unfamiliar place with all these unfamiliar people. He decided not to bother making conversation with any of his housemates, yet. There would be plenty of time for that afterwards.
Once the food appeared on the table, he immediately grabbed a good variety. From roasted turkey to a plethora of smaller appetizer like food. As if the feast could get any better, dessert was amazing. Ethan ate a few cookies and a slice or two of cake. Once he got full, he decided to sit quietly. Observing the other people around him. A few of the ones around his own age also looked a bit lonely and as though they knew no one. The older students seemed quite chatty with each other, most likely because they all had previously met in the years before Ethan had arrived. He felt slightly better knowing the other first years didn’t know other people as well.

The Ravenclaw Table 2017-2018
"Am I going to owe anything for your kindness?"
"No," she answered simply. A public tit for tat would simply make her appear to be the aggressor. She was no less a monster for taking a genteel approach, not that she saw herself as one. "And as you can see, by loud opinion being seen with me is certainly not a kindness," she added. People had a dire opinion of her house, one that Marcus and at times she failed to change. Slytherin was not evil, far from it. A house of ambition and consolidated power reaped some of the most powerful men and women in the wizarding world. They came from good, no great houses. They developed power and skill during their tenure as well as connections no other house did because they were housed with like-minded young individuals.
She smiled, it was far from genuine but who was to know what a true smile was from the young Slythrin. She offered to crook of her arm to the Ravenclaw. "Let's go someplace quieter." The noise did not truly bother it, it was more the sentiment and the statement it made. "We might even become friends," she added. To someone that knew her, they might consider something sinister to be hidden behind those words. She did not have friends. She did not make them and she certainly did not keep them.

The Ravenclaw Table 2017-2018
Confused by the Slytherin's kindness, Bloom slowly got up from the Ravenclaw table benches. She leaned her calves against the bench and she looked at the other Ravenclaw's sitting and standing among each other. Everyone was either unaffected by the jinx because they were sorted much later or they were spewing at the Slytherin's for ruining their appearance. Slowly, Bloom looked at the Slytherin first year. Why was she being so nice. What was so important to talk about that it would be in private?
Bloom wanted dearly to go and talk to the Slytherin, but she began to wonder about the other Ravenclaw's. Would they think poorly of me? she thought to herself, wondering how many Ravenclaw's would judge her for leaving with a Slytherin. Especially a Slytherin that other Ravenclaw's such as Helle is blaming for the jinx.
Taking a deep breath, she reached for her journal and quill on the table with one hand, and slowly linked her arm with the Slytherin with the other arm. "Let's go," she said, still wondering why the girl had wanted to speak to her in private. Did she even want to be friends with her? This was only the first day of school and Bloom began racing in her mind about what she had gotten herself into already.

The Ravenclaw Table 2017-2018
OOC: Picking up from Alice Livery's open ending~
With the fiasco of being sorted into Ravenclaw behind her, Grace finally advanced upon the table of her sorting with a cheerful smile and lightened heart. The worst part of the evening was over and now she was free to take the first steps in beginning her education at Hogwarts. She'd been looking forward to this moment since she'd first received her letter -- she'd already begun the readings and practically memorized the Book of Spells. It truly was no surprise that she'd been sorted into Ravenclaw.
As she approached the table Grace's moment of glory faded into the back of her mind; something odd was happening. Currently there was a loud argument breaking out within the Great Hall and more than half of the people at the table were bald. Grace checked the other three tables to find a similar situation -- aside from Slytherin of course, which only pointed fingers at which house cast the spell. Weren't Slytherins supposed to be cunning and calculating, instead of tasteless pranksters? Grace shook her head and recalled her mother's warning about prejudices and house prides. Still she couldn't help but feel the screaming was justified, after all, they weren't the ones who were bald and would need to visit the school nurse for a hair re-growth tonic. Whomever cast the spell couldn't possibly have been a first year, the spell was clearly enhanced and far-reaching, too potent for an eleven year old to cast.
Nonetheless Grace took her seat at the Ravenclaw table, silently glad to be one of the later names called, she liked keeping her hair on her head. Now that she'd finally been seated green eyes took the time to scan the crowd, it took a moment for her to find a familiar face. And then she saw her -- the girl from the Hogwarts Express! Or, at least one of the girls from the train compartment she'd shared. Grace's expression brightened and she leaned forward, calling her name to catch her attention. When that didn't work she crinkled her nose and followed her gaze down the table. Unable to find the source of her distraction Grace frowned and decided to try again, unwilling to let go of her one chance of conversation.
"Hello?" Grace greeted, waving a hand in front of the Alice's face in an attempt to break her from her trance. When dark eyes were finally turned onto her Grace's frown eased into a wide grin, pleased to have the girl's attention. "Hey! We met on the train earlier, remember?" She prompted -- surely she hadn't forgotten already. "It's cool that we both got sorted into Ravenclaw, I thought I wouldn't know anyone."

The Ravenclaw Table 2017-2018
**Responding to Grace Vale**
Alice's eyes blinked as her brain finally connected the dots. Embarrassment rushed through her body at her momentary stand still.
"Hey, Hey! Yea, you're right. It's nice to know somebody" she said, taking advantage of the open seat next to the girl she remembered as Grace.
"Sorry, I just got overwhelmed by everything and, well" Alice looked at the table in embarrassment again, "my friends from home, and my sisters, are in other houses and I was thinking about them, kind of wishing I was with them. But I'm relived that I at least know somebody now! I was so nervous when the hat called out Ravenclaw because it's the one house I don't really know anything about!" Now that Alice was talking to someone she knew the words were rushing out of her mouth with mounting enthusiasm. "I can't wait for history of magic, and charms, and herbology, and to see our rooms! And- oh!" she was stopped short. The food had appeared on the platters. Thanks to her sisters she knew this would happen, but it still shocked her into silence. Finally she found her voice again.
"Sorry, I'm rambling. I'm just so nervous, and excited, for everything!" she looked up and down the table, watching the older students pile food on their plates, and tentatively did the same. Although she hadn't thought she was hungry earlier, the smell was changing her mind. She took a bite of some safe looking mashed potatoes, swallowed, and turned fully towards Grace again.
"So, what are you excited for now that you know your house?"

The Ravenclaw Table 2017-2018
Alice took up the vacant seat beside her and Grace immediately turned, angling her body, and subsequently her attention, towards the girl with the same accommodating smile as before. She was pleased to note the mutual expression of relief spreading across the girl's freckled features. If anything she looked just as relieved to have somebody familiar to speak with as Grace was excited. Unsurprisingly the blonde was friendly and brave enough to start conversations if need be, but that didn't mean she necessarily enjoyed putting herself out there.
Placing one elbow on the table Grace rested her slightly bruised chin in the cradle of her palm, gaze focused on Alice as she seemingly rambled with nerves. Nonetheless, she listened intently -- genuinely interested in what the other Ravenclaw was saying. It seemed that both of them were nervous about knowing nobody within their own house, and they were both looking forward to their studies. Grace mentally checked the metaphorical box of friendship inside her own head; anyone that excited about their classes was somebody she wanted to be around. Passion thy name is studious, that's how it goes right?
Alice abruptly cut herself off with a startled gasp and Grace -- whose gaze had been fixated on the girl -- glanced to see what had captured her attention. The table was suddenly filled to the brim with food of every sort, strange and familiar alike. Grace's eyebrows jumped up in surprise at the refilling platters and she leaned back in her seat, hands dropping into her lap as she glanced over the array. Instead of going for something safe she chose a peculiar looking cake that was a dark purple in colour. Grace picked one and bit into it, eyes widening at the strange taste. If she had to describe it she'd compare the texture to bread, the taste to caramel, and the scent to cranberry. Very odd indeed.
With the questions now turned onto her, Grace shot her fellow Ravenclaw a bright smile accompanied by a delighted giggle. "What aren't I excited for?" She grinned, gaze flickering back to the table as she loaded her plate with different foods; taking a little piece of everything in reach. Grace was a curious soul, and that didn't stop when it came to food. "I'm looking forward to Defense against the Dark Arts, History of Magic, Charms, and Potions," Grace listed off, each subject accompanied by a stranger looking morsel onto her growing plate. There was no way somebody that tiny could eat all that food.
"Basically anything that has us learning spells or potions," Grace summarized as she finished loading her plate, instead she took the pitcher of pumpkin juice and filled her goblet. "Magic is so fascinating, I want to know everything; sometimes I get so overwhelmed with the possibilities that I don't even know where to begin, y'know?" She paused here to take a bite out of a suspicious looking potato -- it turned out to be cauliflower. "I'm thinking of joining the Dueling Club and the Book Club, what about you?"

"After all, to the well-organised mind, death is but the next great adventure.”
