Once again, Everett's spell went off without a hitch to make sure that Dealla stayed well... not on fire. He surveyed the group and quickly realized he was the only one that hadn't been hit with a spell yet. The only one that hadn't taken a hit. His team was doing quite an amazing job at protecting him, but if they all wiped out they would soon be on their way to losing. Out of the corner of his eyes he saw quite an amazing wix that was... dancing. "Ah, what a time to be dancing the afternoon away, twinkle toes. In the middle of a battle." Of course he knew that Mars wasn't dancing on their own accord. They would probably like not to be dancing, but goodness it was a sight to see.Action || Doing as Strategized

Dee laughed at Santario's comment, momentarily distracted from burns, flames, and everything fire. "What, did no one tell you stories of Merlin and his magical underwear?" she shot back, unfazed. "I thought that was basic knowledge. On the other hand, I don't want to attend your BBQs if they involve getting set on fire."
There was yet another Incendio coming her way, but Dee managed to dive out of the way with time to spare, and gifted Everett with another brilliant smile as he took pity on the flames eating away at her clothes. "I think you may have found your calling in being a firefighter," she teased lightly, then frowned in thought. "Is there such a thing? Magical firefighters? If not, there probably should be." Too many things seemed to be getting set on fire around wixes, especially younger ones.
Other than her dodging and Everett's spell, this round hadn't gone too well for her team, though. Santario had managed to hit Thomas again despite the boy dodging, and by now he didn't look to be in much better shape than Dealla herself, but the others... Both Mars's and Jack's spell had backfired on them, and the spell of the opposing Queen had connected with their muscle man slash gambler as well. Next round would also have Damion back in the game.
"Stop playing around, Mars!" she called over to her fellow Ravenclaw. "Let's show them how it's done."

ROUND 6
Damion looked at how the other team was making a mess of themselves and was happy that his team was doing a good job. He was happy to help his team and wanted to take his team to victory. He looked around himself and saw how Dealla had just survived the round. Darn it. He had thought she'd be hit and be unconscious. But well Adonis will have to try again he thought. He could see one of his team member being hit by the another team's spell. He was glad that Thomas was hanging there.

And again. Mars twisted their hips, wand held straight to Thomas' chest, and grinned at the boy. Smile, point, and fire. They could feel the magic pulsing, the rush of power culminating in a dizzying spell. This one felt good. This one would hit, they could tell.
Half a second.
The blast of light rocketed out of their wand—the wrong direction. All of a sudden, Mars dropped, limbs flying outward in an uncontrollable action. Hell. Hell. Hell. They had all of a moment to breathe before their body started moving of its own accord, hips rolling to a silent rhythm.
A crit fail.
The wix gritted their teeth—the perfectionist inside them snarled, raking at the wall of their own self-esteem. F*ck. This was not okay. This was not the way they wanted to go out. Cue the panic, the shame, the red blush flushing over their cheeks, jaw still clenched tight.
It's just one spell.
Right. Mars rolled their eyes, the lump starting to form in their throat. Of all the times and places to do something like this...
The Ravenclaw yelped at their legs dragged them to the other side of the square. It seemed that somehow, they'd dropped into something familiar. Their toes ached as they arched up, stiff fabric relentless against their bones. Heels were not built for going on point.
At least it was ballet. A silver lining really, but if they were out here doing f*cking Fortnite dances, they probably would have died of shame. Between panting breaths—wow, were they out of shape—they managed to get out,
"If any of you say anything, I will[ find you and curse you after this is over." Maybe the threat didn't really mean as much while they were pirouetting to the other side of the square. Mars heard comments from both Jack and Dee, gritting their teeth as their ears turned red. Ugh.
They were about to fire back a retort when suddenly, they doubled over, foot flying back to nearly smack Jack in the head.
"Sorry!" Mars winced. No. Please, just stop. The wix struggled against their limbs, forcing their body into a semi-stuttering stop. Come on, god damn it. Their arms wouldn't listen to them, held fast in a circular shape. This was too much. Too many memories of things they didn't want to do, things they didn't want to be called, expectations and regulations they didn't want to fit into.
Come on, Mars. The wix fixed steely eyes on the ground. Win, you idiot.

INTERACTING WITH: @Jack Warren | MENTIONING: Mars
Luck. As luck would have it, luck seemed to have been on Greta's side this game. There had been a healthy amount of skill as well, of course. She had invested the years of practice in Quidditch to hone her senses and sharpen her reflexes. The spells hadn't been dodged on their own, and there was a faint glow about her skin that gave credence to the physical effort she was having to exert to keep herself one step ahead of her opponents in predicting and dodging their spells. Well, not so much predicting. She knew little and understood less of these Brits and their ways and couldn't even pretend to marvel at what they were likely or unlikely to do. But she was quick, and that survival instinct had been put to good use.
Even still, no amount of personal skill could have prepared her for what came next. Confidence and quick casting would certainly have played its hand in helping her to land her own Knockback Jinx on the boy before her. Naturally, this conquest — especially in light of her poorly voiced threat — had drawn a gleeful grin from the petite girl. But luck was every bit responsible for the fact that the light that bloomed into existence at the tip of her opponent's wand had shot in entirely the wrong direction. His spell had backfired! Not only that, but so had the spell of the wix behind him! A peel of laughter rang forward. It had been a reflex, one that she hadn't meant to let slip. One that was abruptly cut off.
"S-sorry..." her expression snapping from mirth to guilt as shame coloured her cheeks a deep shade of rose. Duel or not, she didn't wish that kind of luck on anyone. Sure, it might have been a reflection of the wizard's inability to master his spells, but it could very well have been a temperamental wand as well. Granted, that also spoke of the wizard's inability to master the wand, but even still. It didn't give an accurate reflection of his raw ability versus hers. "But.. you see? I hit," she teased, allowing some of her guilt to slip away.
The match was far from over, however, and as much as it seemed as though her team had the upper hand, she knew well enough that the flow of a duel could shift in an instant. Reining in her excitement, she refocused on the target before her and the objective at hand and prepared to take her next action.

Annoyed, Theodore stopped casting spells. The curse the blackhaired girl casted at him affected him too much to be a good duellant. Did a finite stop the effect of the curse? He wasn't sure, but if one of his teammates wasted a second to try it out, he would be very appreciative.

Staring down Mars, daring them to send a spell his way, Thomas was focused and ready to dodge whatever it was they cast at them. When their spell backfired, his concentration lapsed in favor of laughter, watching the wix dance to the beat of their very own drum. He remembered how humiliating it was to experience the Dancing Feet Jinx in front of peers, but rather than feel sympathy he just found amusement with the entire situation. "Serves you right, trying to jinx me," the young Ravenclaw retorted, undaunted by the threats of a curse Mars put out. He had survived the Forbidden Forest excursion, managing to not die in the face of fire and rabid dolls! No one his age could ever terrify him like that experience ever could.
Unfortunately, just like in the forest, instantaneous karma for his ego struck, in the form of a Flipendo from San blindsiding him. "OH JEEZ!" Thomas was nearly knocked off of his feet, stumbling precariously near the edge of his square before recovering. Now the pain was starting to put him in danger of passing out, something he wasn't particularly enamored with. Breathing in rather haggard fashion, he pointed accusingly at San as he threatened, "If I could cast at you right now, you'd be in trouble." Likely, it didn't seem particularly frightening, considering his weakened state. Still, perhaps it was the dizziness slowly eating away at his inhibitions, or perhaps it was just a machination of his growing annoyance, but the fire in his eyes only seemed to grow stronger with every round.

Wincing at the embarrassment more than the actual damage that he had received from the last round only made the boy turn red in frustration. Rushing back to a standing position, all he could do was mutter a few expletives and glance down at his now lightly roasted tanktop that he had on. A certain girl's Laughter brought him out of the mourning over his shirt, even though his mom was going to kill him for wrecking a perfectly good shirt....again. "Hardy har har- Laugh it up."
Thankfully her apology was enough to silence his indignant fury. "Yeah yeah yeah, you hit me." He waved his hand flippantly, before glancing back at Mars. "At least I didn't end up like them-" Jack managed to say, before ducking underneath a flying foot. Ballet...great. Why couldn't he get away from that dreadful thing? His tortured childhood aside, there was nothing like making fun of teammates, amiright?Stats:

This was not the time for the team to be messing up, she thought as her flipendo hit it’s mark again. Thomas looked worse for wear as did the boy behind him who still just couldn’t manage to hit her as she leaned down and to the right allowing the light of his spell to sail over her left shoulder. Mars was dancing, and Jack had been hit. “Come on, guys focus!” Was all she had to say before Thomas’ words brought her attention back to him with hollow promises. Santario’s right brow arched in amusement, smirking slightly before she winked at him at the start of the next round. For someone who couldn’t put their money where their mouth was, it was all meaningless and hollow words.
