Well, this was getting to be quite the match. Strategic Excessive movement seemed to be the theme of both teams, multiple players continuing to slide from one spot to the next or dodging a spell that never happened, while few spells were cast─few successful ones, anyway. Karilyna didn't exactly care what the other team did, as long as nothing exploded or anything, but her own clearly superior team had seen a couple misses, as well as a backfire. Speaking of which… "Uh, you good?" she asked the brunette to her right [Bridget]. Competitive she was, but that didn't mean she was incapable of caring, like a normal human being.

A well-placed Flipendo finally sent her target─had her spell just backfired, too? Things weren't going so well for people, huh─flying, bringing a sense of satisfaction she didn't expect from an action so small. "Get yeeted," the Thunderbird whispered, squaring her shoulders as she tried to hide a maniacal grin. A small success was trivial, really, but at least they were getting somewhere. Even if a spell couldn't just knock someone out (which was, of course, a good thing), wearing them down was key. As the redhead [Katrina] struggled to her feet, the queen eyed her idly, noting the new glint in her eye. So people were getting angry now. Oh, it was so on.

Turning her gaze to survey her team, Karilyna realized she was honestly quite proud of them. Perhaps they didn't always succeed, but did that really matter? Nobody was perfect, anyway.

Charmer & Fearless
Taking a step forward, Evanore realized that they actually weren’t doing to bad. It was a nice little moment to take a quick breath and evaluate the upcoming movies. So far the other team seemed more worn than her own. Of course that was the case, she had, after all, been put on the best team possible. Not that she really knew any of her teammates very well, but one couldn’t help but notice that they seemed to have things under control. Still though, no opponents were within Evanore’s spell range, her side of the board had become somewhat abandoned, and the center area was bustling. as she neared the center she couldn’t help but becoming even more aware of her surroundings, just in case someone were to have her as their target.

His incantation rang true- because of course, it did, it would have been so embarrassing if he had failed the spell when it mattered, because of how he said it. The familiar build-up of power, all he needed to do now was actually shoot it right. Straight ahead, northward. But while his spell was destined to succeed, it seemed that the sun didn't care for his aim as he did and he caught an eyeful of just sun right as he looked up to the angle of his opponent.

Involuntarily, his wand-tip tilted to the side as he recoiled, his other hand coming up to rub at his temporarily useless vision, blinking black splotches all the while in spite. Things looked as if they were negative, slowly fading back to normal, bolstered by his forceful adjustment, but there wasn't any way Johann could have missed the red jet of light that had just erupted from his wand and sailed- sailed just slightly off his target. Aw, come on! He sent a glare up towards the sky, silently cursing all the while. Bad move, bad move, but maybe he could salvage it.

She was ready this time. She knew that she had one chance to prove that she wasn't useless and hoped that her lack of practice with her wand didn't screw up this round and hinder her partners. She pretty much dodged this entire game and it hadn't failed her once. Now she could only hope that if she did it again, on her own, she could still be lucky enough to survive.

Chess Combat, Game TWO

The finalizing barrage of Knockback Jinxs was both successful and not. Karilyna and Erik shot their spells, one being 'lethal' for Katrina, who got knocked off the battlefield for good despite the dodging efforts, and the other one backfiring in the face of Erik. This time Karilyna most probably wasn't ready to catch him as she was busy with last-hitting Katrina. The backfiring set him back just in time as Johannes' spell flew right past him. One can't simply be flipendoed in the same round, right?

Neculai was serving a good shield for his Queen — allowing to set himself on fire from both Raine and Milosh. Let's see how the skin would react once the fires go deeper (both your left arm and your right leg are on fire). Alexei would have pushed Neculai with a Knockback Jinx, but spellcasting seemed to be not his strongest skill as another spell was just fizzling as if the wand in his wands just refused to hurt people.

A lot of sudden movement happened in the Team Black's positions as the continuation of the silent movement of Evanore a round ago. One could see some strategy being put to action.

This was it. Katrina tried her hardest. But her hardest just wasn't enough.

Katrina had only been unconscious one other time. The Blossomball. She hated it. As she careened through the air, Katrina realized that she was actually scared. There was a part of her that was sobbing and closing its eyes because it was just so terrified. What if she lost another two days? What happened then?

She made no noise as she flew through the air. No, she was silent. No screams, no sobs, only a sickening splat on the ground. Katrina grasped on to the last tendrils of consciousness. She was fighting her way. But her arms were made of lead and nothing was working. Her vision closed into a pin prick of light, until even that went out.

It was a dead sleep. Nothing like what you get at night. There was a little sense of longing to wake up, but soon that was quelled with the lapping waves of darkness. She was sinking, slipping deeper and deeper until she found there was no way out. At least it didn't hurt here. It was calm and quiet.

Katrina was unconscious.

Getting back to her feet wasn't hard and didn't take long, but it still hurt. She'd probably find bruises later. Well, that was just great. Apparently she was the biggest threat to her well-being. Hearing her Queen, whose name she still didn't know, ask if she was okay, she nodded. "Fine," Bridget answered shortly.

Her eyes widened as one last Flipendo hit Katrina and her friend didn't get back up. She bit her lip. Katrina was... unconscious. She was seeing a pattern here she didn't like: it was always her friends that went out first in these duels, and not because they were incompetent. More because they got targeted by powerful, accurate spellcasters. So much for no hard feelings--whether Katrina was mad was yet to be discovered, but Bridget definitely felt bad. Sure, none of her spells had hit the redhead, but they'd certainly been a factor in diverting her attention for dodging those other spells.

They were still, however, in a game, and she couldn't just run over and check if Katrina was okay. The medics on standby would take care of that. Bridget sighed. Well, back to the game. No one was in her range anymore, so side-stepping to the left, she readied her wand again from behind Erik.

Spells flew all over the place what once should've been a dueling game between peers, could now easily be mistaken for a battlefield.

Before Neculai could react accordingly he had also been hit with one. A fire started to run across the sleeve of his bronze and blue ravenclaw sweater and another on his left leg.

Panicking by the fire he tried to retaliatr the only way he knew. Biting through the pain and through gritted teeth he aimed his wand.

Erik's eyes went wide with shock as his own spell had backfired again causing him to fall down flat on his back. Rendering him prone and a tad bit disoriented for a while. He lied there for a couple of minutes before shaking his head as the room seemed to spin. Even after the fact he tried to push himself back on his feed which caused him to stumble a bit backwards. As the werewolf looked back up he smiled.

My, my. Even despite my failure this team pulled it off and you bit the dust. Hopefully you will be more mindfull in the future and will think twice before targetting me. Despite everything and Erik being very reluctant to work in team he couldnt deny it bore fruit. They were actually winning this thing. Who would have thought? Not me. That's for sure.

So, that was bad. His redhead teammate collapsed and by the looks of things, some of the other members of the team looked like they weren't very far from joining her. He was going to need to turn this around. His idea of punching people into unconsciousness was seeming like a better and better option. Not that they would actually win, but maybe it would prevent a humiliating defeat.

Long story short, I survived
