Hogwarts Summer Camp Chess Combat, Game 3

Round Four
10th of July 2020, around 02:00pm

Hm. It seemed people were switching tracks away from the fiery spells. Maybe there would be less mishaps, now. Mr. Harringtom was still covered in bubbles and seemed more interested in trying again than attempting to do something about his predicament, this time with some success.
The flames on Miss … Sokolova's jeans were petering out, and Miss Séverin was in the process of getting back up while the next volley of spells were cast, two of them hitting her in the chest, staggering her a bit but not deterring her in standing up. While Mr. Hart's spell had gone wide, his team mates' spells all met their marks. Miss Campbell managed one step toward moving to another square, before a spell hit her with enough force to knock her down. Miss Quinn seemed the least affected by the spells headed their way. Mr. Preobrazhensky was unlucky enough that his clothes caught fire a second time. Nothing impeded Mr. Forsbergs way as he moved one square to his left.

Again?

Of course, Maksim panicked slightly as he realized that once again, he'd been set on fire, this time by one of the blondes. Gritting his teeth as the pain hit him once more, he knew that he'd have to have some words with the referee once this match was over. Come on... fire? Surely, that was traumatic to more than a couple of students! Plus, it was a pain in the butt, and far more dangerous than a tickling spell or a knockback jinx. He'd start a petition! Petitions always got things done.

But now was not the time to whine and gripe. Glancing at his teammates, he wondered if Kheanu was still doing alright. If anyone else tried to hurt that boy, Maksim probably would've started crying right then and there. Not because he liked Kheanu! At least, not like that... he hoped... Sokolova seemed to be doing quite well, though!

"Nice hit, Sokolova!" Maksim called out to the girl, offering her a gentle smile. "See? You're carrying our team, like I knew you would!"

Roleplaying as Kheanu Maravilho Mondelez | Interacting with the White Team
Kheanu grinned as he watched another of his Flipendos land on his previous target—the Hogwarts girl. He almost felt bad, but the exhilaration of the fight simply would not let him go. Instead, he was smirking, stance carefree and wand loosely gripped in his delicate fingers. His teammate, the pretty, foreign blonde girl even managed to hit the same target. From the looks of it, it wouldn't take long before their opponent got knocked out of the game.

Shooting a dazzling smile at each of his teammates, Kheanu exclaimed encouragingly, "Let's win this, team!"

Oliver swore as his spell was dodged, knowing his accuracy was better than this. Mentally noting he needed to practice over summer more on landing hits, he noticed Maksim's flipendo landing. Perhaps Oliver's spell distratced and helped Maksim hit? Revving back up adrenaline pumped motivation, Oliver continued with his wand constantly raised at this point.

He noticed the others calling out lines of encouragement, but being too shy to interact with them, he directed his at Dymphna. "Keep up the great work, Dymph!" he'd call, in response to her landing a hit on Alexx.

mentions Team Black
Nichlas was getting a little frustrated by now. His team had to step up their game, a lot of them seemed quite incapable of casting if he dared say so. One of the girls who looked about his age only was casting one of the most simple spells he knew and was not even hitting most of the time. His team was dragging him down with them but what else could he have expected from a bunch of Hogwarts students? He wondered how many of them were actually wizards and whether the majority of them were mudbloods, they certainly cast like them. The muscles in his jaw tensed, it seemed like it was him against them, after all these previous rounds he doubted that he could count much on his own team. Except for the boy who had been ready to throw himself in front of him to protect him and be his meat shield; perhaps he had some use after all. So perhaps he had not to feel all gloomy about the whole team he had been forced to work with.

The blonde was too focused on the duel, the competition of it all, to care too much that they might be injuring her friends. The infirmary would get them healed up quickly, and hopefully without the trauma this time. It wasn’t like they were in any actual danger, right?

Says the girl who hadn’t been caught fire. Her team was doing well, not counting the boy on fire yet again. It was starting not to faze her. They should have expected it. Dymphna tried not to look so smug after her spell hit, but she couldn’t help but to feel proud that her studies were actually paying off. “Thanks, Oliver!”

𝓢teadying herself for the next round, Amadea attempted to take a step forward and change square. Perhaps this could help her target more people and help out the team more. Unfortunately, she was so busy trying to move forward that she didn't notice the oncoming spell that was hurtling toward her which gave her no chance to dodge. The spell collided with her and she was knocked backward by it. Amadea fell down back on the square she had originally started on. Shoot, she thought to herself. This was not good. Her team was not doing well. But the game wasn't over yet. They could still make a comeback. Amadea prayed that her teammates would be able to make a comeback during the next round.

Cecily found herself admitting for the umpteenth time that this match was not going well. Sure, both sides were landing hits, but one side-- and not her own-- seemed to be dealing significantly more damage than the other. Cecily was not happy about it. At least the fire shooting from the tip of her wand collided with her mark, the Durmstrang boy diagonal from her. But she only had a moment to revel in her small victory before a spell of their own hit her squarley, knocking the air out of her lungs for a few moments. At least it wasn't fire this time-- perhaps Durmstrang students were aware of the perils of lighting people aflame, unlike those at Hogwarts-- but it still was not a particularly pleasant feeling. Still, Cecily took a deep breath, refilling her lungs, and narrowed her eyes. They could still win this, right?
