Callista stood in the doorway of the train, looking at her Muggle family. They seemed so bland compared to all the other wizards and witches, dressed as they were in majestic robes and tall hats. She spotted some other students carrying pets - owls, cats, frogs... Her little sister, Aurora, was looking around excitedly, her short, dark brown hair bobbing cheerfully. Aurora’s blue eyes were sparkling with wonder and delight. Her father, Benjamin, looked amazed and a little uncomfortable. Her mother, Niko, had glanced around briefly, but her eyes were set on Callista’s. Soon after, Aurora met her gaze as well. Callista smiled at her family. She would miss them a lot. The most she had been away from her family was two weeks, last year during a school trip. However, now she was simply caught up in all the excitement.

“Be careful!” her mother called. Callista nodded and waved. Her father nodded back. Aurora waved giddily.

“Don’t forget to write!” her little sister shouted, over the commotion of the platform.

“I won’t!” Callista yelled back, waving. Then, with one last glance at her family, she turned around and slipped into the train. She weaved through the mass of students and pets, muttering apologies. She headed towards the back of the train, where there seemed to be less people. She glanced at a few compartments, and opened two that were full by accident. On her third try, she got a compartment that was empty. “Phew,” she breathed with a sigh of relief. She got into the compartment, leaving the door slightly open. She heaved her trunk up onto a rack, and took a seat by the window. She ran her fingers over the soft red - was this velvet? - of the seat.

She took out a book from her trunk. It was Artemis Fowl, by Eoin Colfer, an Irish man. She settled into the seat comfortably, and started to read...

I make my way nervously onto the train unsure of what to expect I glance around the crowded hall of the train, its large with a carpeted floor and you can practically sense the magic coming from everyone in the train. I almost talk to someone but don't work up the confidence too. I try to slip past everyone drawing as little attention to themselves as possible not wanting to stick out like a sore thumb against all the kids in wizards robe with owls talking about what house they want to be in and their favorite quidditch teams.
They all seem so comfortable with this strange magical world like its just the norm. I had tried to read up on Hogwarts and magic and stuff but I hadn't had time to understand everything. As I sneak past some other students with owls on their shoulders who are discussing something called Quidditch I'm given a few odd looks. Maybe should have worn my wizard's robes onto the train I think uncomfortably. I almost wish I had just decided to stay home as I try desperately to find an open compartment but most of them are taken. Everyone seems to be chatting with someone, they all look like they already have groups of friends while I just look lost and confused.
Finally, after searching most of the train I come up near the end and cautiously and as quietly as I can check the next compartment. I expect to see another group of people already chatting away with no room for me instead I see one girl sitting in the corner of the train car reading a book.
I think she's a muggle-born cause of her mostly normal-looking clothes, she has long brunette hair, brown eyes, and a thin figure which makes my own a bit too overweigh figure seem even worse. I should ask her if I can sit here, theirs definitely room and she looks nice, she probably won't mind. But still, my anxiety makes me pause. Come on, it's not that hard just ask, "Um, can I sit here?" I ask.

“Um, can I sit here?” a voice asked. For a second Callista didn’t hear her, them her ears caught up to her brain and she looked up, surprised. A short, slightly chubby girl with long, curly brown hair and blue eyes was standing in the doorway. She looked a little lost and nervous.

“Oh, of course,” Callista replied. “Um, make yourself at home...” Oh lord, I have an accent? Now, really? she thought. Sometimes when she was caught by surprise (and sometimes it just randomly happens), her English would have an accent. A Japanese-Chinese accent, she supposed, seeing as she was rather acquainted with both languages. She had no idea why it happened, seeing as she rarely spoke Japanese or Chinese outside home, and she only spoke a little of each at home. She supposed it was something to do with genetics, seeing as her mother was Japanese and her father was Taiwanese-English. She fingered her blue bookmark, which was soft and slim. It had a kawaii little drawing of a cat face on the top, and Callista loved it.

Maybe I should put it in my book and close it..? But then the girl might seem forced to talk to me... and if she doesn’t, then I probably won’t, and there’ll be this really awkward silence between us... and then I’ll probably just open the book again anyway... she thought, worrying. She did this often, and it was just one of her many faults. She decided to keep the book open and the bookmark on the seat, just to be safe. Then something occurred to her, and she stood up in a hurry. “I’m so sorry for my manners,” she apologized, wincing internally at her accent. Sometimes it took a few seconds, sometimes it took several minutes. “Um, which seat would you like..?” she asked, holding her book and bookmark behind her, waiting for the girl to pick a seat. On second thought, I’ve never seen anyone do this in England... have I? Oh well, what’s done is done...

“Oh, of course, make yourself at home...” The girl says with a bit of an odd accent I can´t quite place where it's from. I notice a cute little drawing of a cat on her blue bookmark as she messes with it in her fingers, I thought about complimenting it but she was already putting it back in her thick hardcover book and I felt like I had missed my opportunity like I always did. She began fidgeting with her book setting it down and picking it up seeming unsure of what to do.
Maybe I shouldn't have come in? Maybe I interrupted her reading? Should I say something I thought as I walked into the compartment.
The girl finally seemed to awkwardly place the book on the seat beside her leaving it open. Maybe I shouldn't talk? Maybe she wants to read in quiet? Then suddenly the girl jumped up and said “I’m so sorry for my manners,”
I didn´t think she had been rude but I nodded and smiled accepting the apology.
“Um, which seat would you like..?” she asked me holding her book and bookmark behind her. The attention made me slightly uncomfortable but I didn't want to come off as rude as I so often did so I quickly replied trying to come off as friendly, ¨I´ll just sit here.¨ I say motioning for towards the seat across from the girl and sitting down.
¨Uh, what's your name?¨ I asked hoping I didn´t come off as awkward and uncomfortable as I thought I did.

Matrix would take a deep breath before stepping aboard the Hogwarts Express. He would be wearing a black hoodie and a lose hat. He would be shaking a bit, nervous and exited to start the next chapter in his life. “Act normal. Try not to act weird. Don’t draw to much attention. Meet new people. Make a good first impression” Matrix would repeat in him mind. He really wanted to make new friends before he reached Hogwarts, so his life could be easier.

He would walk in to the train with his suit case behind him and would open one of the doors to a compartment. He could not see inside any of them, so he did not know which where full and which where not. Inside he would a group of boys who seemed older than him talk rapidly about quidditch. He watched a few matches and knew the basics, but that was about it. Plus, the compartment looked full. More than full, in fact. “Sorry” He would mutter, closing the door behind him. “So far, not of to a great start” Matrix would think sighing.

He would hear the train leaving, and would see a lady pushing a cart filled with food began stopping at every compartment. He would need to find a place to sit, and fast! He would open the door to a random compartment ahead of him, hoping that there would be a place to sit.

Inside the compartment, he would see two girls, in the middle of a conversation. “Sorry, can I sit hear?” He would ask. “Sorry if I am disturbing you!” He would say with a bow. The hat on his head would fall and Matrix would catch it and stand straight putting it back on his head. He would blush a little for being so clumsy. ”Why am I so nervous today!?” Matrix would think internally scolding himself. “I hope they don’t think I am weird” Matrix would think looking at the girls and then looking at his feet.

The girl simply sat in the seat across from where Callista had been sitting. Callista blushed, embarrassed. The girl probably thought she was weird... The girl then proceeded to ask what her name was, without telling Callista what her name was, which she thought was a little weird.

“I’m, um, Callista,” she said. “What’s your name..?” Callista asked, sitting down again, her book on her lap. Then she turned her head, surprised, as another student - this time a boy - entered the compartment.

“Sorry if I’m disturbing you,” the boy said. Then he bowed, which surprised Callista because people rarely bow in England. She wondered if he was Japanese. He had black hair and glasses, but that didn’t make someone Japanese. Perhaps he had a relative that was Japanese or lived in Japan for some time. The hat he was wearing fell off his head, and the boy hurriedly caught it and straightened, placing it on his head. The boy seemed to blush, and Callista smiled at the boy shyly.

“You’re not disturbing us,” Callista said quietly. She stood up again and bowed a little. “Um, which seat would you like..?” She really hoped that they didn’t think she was weird for standing up and offering them a seat. Usually she didn’t do it, only for her elders but sometimes for older people on the bus or train. She wasn’t quite sure what she was doing, but it felt comfortable and proper, and she hated to come across as rude or improper, so she stood up.

I haven't actually finished the family section of Lucia's ency lol, but Briar basically looks like a younger Lucia with shorter hair and more tanned skin.
It was the start of Lucia's second year at Hogwarts... And with that second year came something which was, in Lucia's opinion at least, even more exciting - Lucia's sister's first year!
The two eldest Fox sisters were looking for a compartment. Briar would probably have been happier by herself, but what could Lucia say? She was overprotective.
"We should try find one with both first years and second years in," Lucia said, and peeked through the windows at each compartment they came to. However, Briar was having none of it.
"Lucy, I can look after myself, you know," Briar told her with a roll of her eyes. "Look."
Then, she walked to the nearest door, tugging her trunk along behind her, and opened it, prompting splutters from Lucia. "Hey, is there any room?" she asked, ignoring her sister, and Lucia grabbed the handle of her trunk to pull it over as well. "Bree!" she hissed, "What-"
But Briar interrupted again. "I'm Briar - Briar Fox - and this is my sister Lucia." She pointed at Lucia with her thumb and muttered to her, "Who was just going to leave."
"Nope," Lucia told her with a slight smile. "I'm staying right here."
She sighed and properly made her way into the compartment to stand by her sister. She held her hand out for people to shake if they wished. They seemed to be the only people already wearing their Hogwarts robes - with jumpers over the top, of course, so they looked like dresses - and Lucia didn't recognise any of the occupants.

The girl responded saying, "I'm Callista. Whats you're name?" She asked. I blushed feeling that I might have just been quite rude. Maybe I should have just introduced myself first?
"Violet. Violet Tyler." I replied quickly.
I could hear the engine starting to turn on and I knew we would begin leaving the train station soon. Just as I was thinking about that a black-haired boy burst into the small compartment, he looked very nervous and jittery. He had short black hair with a hat on top and he was wearing a pair of round glasses.
“Sorry, can I sit here?” He asks nervously. Then adds “Sorry if I am disturbing you!” before either of us could even respond to him. Then he would give us a bow which was a very unexpected at least to me.
When he bowed the hat on his head would fall off his head and I had to hold back a laugh.
He went a little red in the face but quickly recovered putting the hat right back on his head.
“You’re not disturbing us,” Callista would say to him. I nodded awkwardly attempting to agree with her not wanting him to feel uncomfortable.
Then Callista stood up too and bowed to the boy. Was this some sort of custom I was supposed to know? Should I bow? I fidgeted with my hair thinking about this.
“Um, which seat would you like?” She asked him while I sat quietly in the corner hoping I wasn't totally messing this all up.
I was thinking about introducing myself to the new boy but suddenly another girl barged in she was around the same age as me though much more confident. She had black hair that fell a bit above her shoulders and tan skin.
"Hey, is there any room?" she asks smiling.
Another girl quickly follows the first she looks older but so similar to the other one, with black hair and a similar-looking face. that I assume they must be sisters. I can hear the older girl whisper, "Bree, what-" into her sister's ear but the girl cuts her off before she can even finish her sentence.
"I'm Briar - Briar Fox - and this is my sister Lucia." She says to us. She glares at the older girl and then adds "Who was just going to leave."
"Nope," Lucia said looking right at her sister. "I'm staying right here."
She moves closer into the compartment and gives us all a smile and holds out her hand for someone to shake.
I don't want to give a bad first impression so I stand up to shake her hand and her a smile, "Hi, um, I'm Violet. Uh, feel free to sit wherever you want." I say the last sentence coming out as more of a question than anything and I'm not sure how awkward any of that was.

Before the boy with black hair said anything, another girl entered the compartment. Honestly? Callista felt a little overwhelmed with the crowd of people. It wasn’t that she had anxiety problems, exactly, but she was very introverted and hated being put on the spotlight. She felt rather uncomfortable having to greet all these new people almost simultaneously, and she really missed her sister’s confidence and never ending excitement.

“Hey, is there any room?” the new girl asked, tugging open the door. She had lightish-tan skin and deep blue eyes, with jet black hair, and she was already wearing her Hogwarts robes. She was followed by an older girl, who attempted to stop the first girl. They looked almost identical, so Callista safely assumed that they were siblings. The first girl ignored her sister and introduced herself as Briar Fox, and her older sister as Lucia Fox. Briar unsuccessfully attempted to get her sister out of the compartment, but Lucia refused with a smile.

Lucia held out a hand to shake, and Callista had just started worrying if her hands were clean when the first girl that had come into this compartment - Violet Tyler, she had introduced herself, shook Lucia’s hand without hesitation. Callista wondered if even a brief thought of whether their hands were clean had gone through the girl’s head. Violet introduced herself again and told her that they could sit wherever they would like.

Callista figured she should probably introduce herself, so she spoke up - but still rather quietly. “Hi, I’m, um, Callista, Callista Lovis,” she said. Oh great my accent is gone, finally! she thought to herself with relief. She was still standing up, so she waited for the other students to pick their seats before she would sit down.

Matrix would blink in surprise when one of the girls bowed back. No one ever did it to him here in England. "Maybe Wizards also bow to each other during introduction" Matrix would say thinking. Even though his father had tried to teach him as much as he could about the wizarding world, he still was confused with some stuff.
The girl would ask him what seat he wanted to sit at. Matrix would blink and take the nearest one to him. "Um, can I sit here?" Matrix would say sitting next to the other girl, but closer to the door. "I am Ma-" Matrix would begain when the door suddenly opened again. Matrix would jump to a very stiff and straight sitting position in surprise. He would see two girls, one asked if there was any room. Matrix would not say anything, as he had just sat down and he really did not have a say in the decision. The two girls would introduce themselves. "Briar and Lucia" Matrix would say thinking, making a mental note of both of them, incase they meet again in the future. The girl who bowed would introduce herself. Matrix would make another mental note, to remember her name to. "Umm....nice to meet you guys. I am Matrix Kaida." Matrix would say. He was preety sure neither of the girls who walked in say him, as he was so close to the door. It was almost as if he was hiding. He did not want to give them a jump scare though.
