There was always more to the Hogwarts Castle than most of the students realized. All the winding hallways branching off into various rooms and classes could really leave a student lost. Most first years seemed to be having this problem, meaning quite the shenanigans were taking place almost daily. It caused a good bit of chaos around the school grounds, and that wasn't exactly ideal for anyone really.
Kreszentia was already pretty tired of wandering aimlessly and getting lost. She had been late to a few classes already, but she wouldn't have cared all that much if the other students weren't so adamant about pointing it out to god and everybody. A bitter determination fueled her today as she went strolling around the school, trying to mentally mark the places she'd seen so far and how to get there once again. It was still very much a giant maze to her, and it wasn't at all an easy task to accomplish, but so far at least she knew how to navigate those accursed living stairs to a degree that wouldn't get her injured.

By now she had made her way up to the third floor and decided it'd be a nice little break to check out the famed trophy room. Well, not famed to her, she had maybe heard a few things here and there about it, but other than that she wasn't really that intrigued by it. That is until she actually checked it out herself.
It was obviously going to be impressive, having walls lined with various cups, banners, plaques, and medals. There was a bit of dust layering the untouched awards, showing their age. Krez admired these shiny proof-of-skills with muted awe, glad she at least went to a school with something to be proud of. Several things actually. Krez extended a finger and drew a little picture with the dust on one of the glass cases. She chuckled as she pulled her hand back to her, proud of her handiwork.
A little picture of a frog face now rested where she had traced in the dust, sticking its tongue out at whoever may view it.

Kaegen had been sleeping in some huge trophy. It was pretty comfortable, and it reminded him of a nest of some sort, and it was hidden. So honestly, what could go wrong? Nothing did, for a while, until he woke up the the sound of a finger squeaking across glass. Peeking out from his trophy, he happened to cause the thing to tip off balance. It fell the ground with a clatter and a metal hip flask fell out of the boy's robe. The hip flask opened, and a bunch of ants crawled out. They started crawling everywhere. A little bit of something that smelled like alcohol also trickled out, but not very much. Just enough to smell it.
One of the ants crawled over to the girl, looked up at her, and decided why not blow up? So blow up it did. With a pretty loud BANG. The ground around the ant was charred a bit, but it wasn't close enough to the glass trophy cases to cause any damage there. But if the ants were a little closer, it would probably be a different story.
Kaegen stared at the chaos that had just unfolded surprisingly quickly before his eyes. Who would have guessed that his pets, who were just fine in the fens, would cause so much trouble here? He melted a street car, and now was about to explode a trophy room. Kaegen grabbed the flask, and started gently scooping ants into it. One at a time.

It was still taking some time for Jack to figure out the best way to navigate through the ever confusing halls of Hogwarts and, needless to say, he was pretty lost right now. Even with this, however, it was still an exciting process of finding new places throughout its halls, never truly knowing what he would find next.

This couldn't be any more true, as when he got to the third floor of the castle he heard what sounded like a large metal bowl dropping against the floor further down one of the halls. His curiosity only grew as while walking towards the source of the original sound, he suddenly heard a rather loud explosion coming from the same area and he began to run to see what the source of the noise was. Upon entering the trophy room, the first thing he was greeted with was a very faint smell of alcohol in the air as well as, well, quite a few little ants crawling about the room. The next things he noticed where the other two students who were also present. One being a boy his age, scooping up the small ants and placing them in what seemed to be a little bottle of sorts, the other student being a girl standing next to a small, burnt looking area where he could only assume the explosion had happened.

Jack began to make his way in to ask what had happened, being careful not to step on any of the little critters scattered about the room.

The sudden falling of a trophy and the small explosion afterward was enough to scare the life out of Krez. When she opened her eyes after her brief lapse in courage, she found she had hit the floor with her arms over her head. Duck and cover, of course. She also noticed the other two students who had joined her, as well as the plethora of ants now scurrying freely throughout the trophy room. It made her hop back up to her feet in disgust and surprise. Where did they all come from, she wondered?

She shot looks at the other two boys, glaring in a way that made it seem like she perhaps blamed one of them for this mess. Actually, that's exactly what she was trying to convey, made apparent by her gesturing at the mess all around as she continued to glower at them both. As she attempted to step forward for god only knows what reason, she made the mistake of not looking where she was going, stepping on another insect and immediately experiencing backlash for such a thoughtless action.
Another small explosion right under her foot knocked her off balance, sending her stumbling back into a trophy case and nearly knocking it over. The impact was punctuated by the sound of her head thumping against the glass. Luckily the glass was fine, but Krez was back on the floor again, growling in frustration and pain. She walked right into it, but it still hurt.

The girl in front of him stepped on an ant, which exploded sending her into a pane of glass. Let's hope she wasn't mad. Kaegen scurried around the floor. A barely audible whisper, that sounded like it was coming from somewhere else, and far away, could be heard. It wasn't much, just your standard "Sorry about this."
Kaegen was trying to come up with a better way of catching his ants. Maybe if he let out his acid salamander? Vortigern loved eating exploding ants, but then again he might get too hyped up on them and start melting hogwarts. Kaegen was no expert, but that sounded like grounds for expulsion. Still, vortigern could probably keep it together, and it was better than the current option, which was pick them up one by one and hope that the other two students left the room before they blew themselves up. Picking up an ant a bit too swiftly, the ant next to the one Kaegen grabbed decided to blow up. Kaegen managed to pull his scarf up, shielding most of his face, but it still hurt. And now Kaegen smelled like booze. Kaegen had lately made the discovery that 11 year olds were not, in fact, allowed to purchase or drink alcohol. It worried him more than a little, he wasn't sure if anyone would buy his story of having a exploding ant blow up in his face, thus causing the smell.
But still, he did have proof, provided he could collect it all. They'd believe the story if one of the ants blew up in front of them. That would be interesting.

Now that he was able to see where the explosions where coming from, he instantly regretted stepping foot into the room with the other students, trying to be even more careful than before. Still though, he couldn't help but be intrigued by these strange ants, even if he was practically standing in the middle of a minefield.

Even with his best attempts of stepping around the ants in the room, he couldn't miss all of them and soon felt the repercussions himself after stepping on two and being sent forward by the explosion. Taking advantage of the sudden blast, Jack used the added momentum to perform a small jump away from the nearby ants and was barely able to grab onto one of the trophy cases, climbing up in an attempt to get off the floor and away from a majority of the ants. He was grateful that the glass case was strong enough to support him, but was still concerned about the current situation they were in. "So, what is with these ants?" Jack asked, figuring that one of the two students would probably know the answer to this. He also began to notice the alcohol smell from earlier was now coming from his robe and figured that it must be connected to the ants, somehow.

With the more acrobatic of the two boys had voiced his confusion about the situation, Krez knew which one might have been the catalyst for this predicament. Her attention returned to the boy scooping ants into a bottle, trying to think of just what she wanted to say to this kid. Just then, a few ants crawled up onto her legs and distracted her from whatever mean thing she was going to say. She hopped to her feet, knocking them off with her hands so they wouldn't explode on her, but still got a little char on her from one of them exploding as it flew off of her boot.
By now the alcohol smell was kinda making her feel sick, as it was coming from the ants and that just didn't sit right with her. "You!" She barked, pointing to the scarfed boy who was only trying to clean his mess up. "Vhat are zhese??" She had many other questions behind that, but she felt as if that one would gain her most of the info she wanted anyway.

She shuffled backward a little ways as she asked this, trying to do her best not to squish any more bugs until she reached a shelf. Quickly but carefully, she nabbed a trophy from its place and wielded it like a weapon, ready to trap some ants under it if they decided to try to come at her. She'd probably ruin the award that way, but she was determined not to get jacked up from any more detonations.

"They're my ants, try not to hurt them. If you can find Bling, let me know. She likes music, if you can sing."
Kaegen started an awkward, broken hum but stopped when one of the ants crawling on his back exploded, making the boy bounce off of the stone floor. Recovering, he kept trying to scoop up ants, looking for the one that would make all the others calm down. It was a pretty daunting task. Last time he had used a flute, gotten her to dance a bit so he could find her. But he had broken the flute, and his humming wasn't really good enough. She didn't have very good hearing. But he could still find her, it would just take a lot longer.
He hoped the other two students wouldn't die. That would probably give him detention. Well, he'd probably be fine if only one of them died, but two? Definitely detention. He picked up the pace, looking around for the one large ant in the swarm. Another exploded in front of him, making spots appear in front of his eyes. At this rate, he wasn't going anywhere fast. Why didn't this stupid school teach any useful spells? He could really, really use some useful spells about now.
