Pre-Summer Egg Race!
── ❋ ──Mentioning Dymphna Teague❋𝓐madea smiled as she successfully advanced; hopefully, she would be able to catch up with the rest of the pack soon enough. Unfortunately, she couldn't clinch the winning title as Dymphna made it to the middle successfully but Amadea wasn't too disappointed. Even though she was pretty competitive, she was happy for her friend and she wasn't putting too much stock in this game. It was just a friendly little competition and Amadea wasn't going to put pressure on herself to perform at peak condition. Dymphna definitely deserved to win; especially after the tough year she had, Amadea was glad that she could claim the bragging rights on this egg race competition.
The best Amadea could do now was try to make it into the top three. From her position, she was tied with a majority of the players while a few were ahead and one lagged behind (poor Ami). Shoulder checking was a viable option but Amadea wasn't sure she had the strength to pull it off and she also didn't like playing dirty to get what she wanted. Plus, she could risk her own egg by shoulder checking someone...all in all, the odds seemed too risky for her to do anything but try to yet again, advance forward. The basket was so close, yet so far away, and Amadea just prayed that she could make it to the middle without coming in last place.❋

Pre-Summer Egg Race!
So! This time around, she had actually made some progress instead of falling flat on her face. That was good! That was a massive improvement, already. But, "improvement" just didn't cut it. Dymphna had already reached the center, and frankly, Ami just didn't feel like settling for 2nd or 3rd. 1st or nothing... but as she paused, ready to stop running completely, she caught sight of Willow on the sidelines once more.
There was no way she was going to let all of the Hufflepuff's hard work and dedicated planning go to waste! She desperately wanted to roll down a hill and walk into the Great Lake, or maybe punch a tree, or.... well, regardless of everything else she wanted to do at this exact moment, the look on Willow's face stopped her. No. She had to see this through. Gritting her teeth, Ami pumped her arms determinedly, her legs stretching to cover as much ground as possible.
She wasn't going to give up. Not yet. And, if not for herself, she was going to do it for Willow. She might've been okay with letting herself down on a daily basis, but Ami refused to let her friends down. Not if she could help it.

Pre-Summer Egg Race!
Moderation Post
It wasn't long before another winner appeared, Alan emerged victorious. Gently dropping his head in the bowl where to lightly tapped against Dymphna's egg. "Second place goes to Alan! Me and Tiger are so proud of you!" Willow raised Tiger up, as if emphasizing the point. before settling the kitty back into her arms.
It seemed like everyone else had given up on fighting for now as the only position left was third place. While it came with a much smaller reward, it was a reward nonetheless and a position that came with the pride of being one of the ultimate egg carriers. Even through the peril of dizziness and shoulder checks, they would make it through. Everyone seemed to be successful in moving forward, except May who seemed to be stuck in dizziness where she was.
As four people closed in on the final bowl, it seemed like they could all shoulder bump each other as a final sabotage yet continue movie. The final determination taking over their dizziness and making them able to do two actions instead of just one.

Alan was next in finishing the race and Ariana now realized that if she wanted to get third place she was going to have to bump someone next to her. The temptation to shoulder check Mars yet again, was high, but Ariana figured that they would expect this and nevertheless emerge with full control like last time. Yes, she was going to go for poor Amadea again. The gryffindor felt bad, as the girl seemed good-natured and amiable, considering that Ariana had been so aggressive towards her. Yet she would do what she had to do if it meant a small attempt at success.
Her shoulder made contact with her Hufflepuff opponent and even Ariana was a little shocked at the ferocity of the impact, but they were all closer than they had been before and it was inevitable that the spaces would render tight. “Sorry!” She called out to the girl hesitantly, making sure her egg was balanced, for she had put it in danger of cascading to the ground. She was lucky no one had shoulder checked her yet; but as they neared the finish it was quite likely that attempts towards her failure would be considered. She gritted her teeth in concentration, looking out for sudden movements that she could evade if needed. Come one...she could do this.

Pre-Summer Egg Race!
── ❋ ──Mentioning Ariana Walker❋𝓐madea was able to successfully advance again. The end was near, she could feel it. The finish line was only a few more steps away and Amadea knew that if she could just try to advance once more, she could most likely make it to the finish. At this point, only third place was left for taking because Alan had successfully crossed the finish line moments earlier. Amadea felt a bit more pressure at this point; while she knew that this competition wouldn't matter in the grand scheme of things, she still felt like it would be quite embarrassing if she came in last.
As Amadea was contemplating what she should do for the next round, she saw something out of the corner of her eye. It was, yet again, the girl who had shoulder checked her earlier. It seemed like she was trying to shoulder check the Hufflepuff again. Amadea felt slightly annoyed; she understood that this was a competition and she was trying to win, but she had already been shoulder checked once before and Amadea wasn't trying to play dirty in this game. Even though Amadea could see it coming, she knew that she couldn't really do much about it except hope that the person would miss. Plus, she didn't want to distract herself from her egg and risk dropping it. The only thing that she could do is keep trying to advance. She was so close to the finish line at this point, Amadea hoped that she could make it to the middle.❋

And so it seemed that Alan had reached the middle, as well. Maybe she should've shoulder-checked him harder... or better. Or at all. But, regardless, Ami bit her lip as she surveyed the playing field. It seemed that everyone was ahead of her, and ready to clinch third place as their own. But there was no way she was going to let that happen, not without one hell of a fight. She was tall (almost freakishly so), and her legs were long. In a normal race, she'd have no trouble outpacing all of these posers and losers.
But she'd been given a disadvantage. Dealt an unfair hand. But Procoppios made the best of their situations, and that's exactly what Ami was going to do. Pumping her legs as fast as she could, her arms swaying wildly in some rough approximation of the proper motion, she relied entirely on her natural athletic abilities to carry her through to the end.
As she ran, she flashed a saucy wink at Willow, wondering if the Hufflepuff thought lowly of her. A third year, soon to be fourth year, who couldn't even outpace all these little scrubs in a simple race? How pathetic was that! But still, she gritted her teeth and carried on. Even if she finished dead last, she had to reach the finish line, even if it was just for Willow's sake.

Pre-Summer Egg Race!
───── ⋆★⋆ ─────
Yes. Mars grinned at they managed a staggering two steps forward, egg still safely in their spoon. They glanced up. Alan had finished the race, dropping his egg neatly in the bowl next to the other Ravenclaw witch's.
Alright.
In their head, Mars ticked off the first and second place. Those were impossible now, already snatched away. But the third place was still a clear option. Glancing from side to side, Mars could see that three others were even to them. It seemed that it was anyone's game, really. What to do, what to do?
On one hand, they could attack. Looking at the Lioness who'd attacked them earlier, a wave of ire flooded through Mars' body. God, they wanted to see her face when her egg was lying flat on the floor and they had reached the finish line instead.
But on the other hand, that was probably a dumb mistake. The only lunge they'd made had failing, and thinking about it critically, it was a really dumb move to make, seeing that they were only steps from the finish line.
So, revenge or victory?
There was a split-second where Mars couldn't quite make a decision. Then, the girl made the decision for her. She lunged at the girl on her other side and the Ravenclaw couldn't stifle an excited laugh. Well, maybe they could get both. Victory seemed like revenge enough at this point.
With a focused gaze, they tucked their egg carefully to their chest and made to go forward.

Pre-Summer Egg Race!
Truthfully, Søren expected it to be over by now. He and the other boy participating had enough of a lead that Søren could practically see himself holding up the second or third place prize. Of course, his intuitions failed him, and the other boy sailed into the center of the circle, claiming second. Maybe Søren had overestimated himself, or maybe he underestimated the others. Whatever it was, he could now see that his direct opponents had changed from the giant redhead and the blonde winner to a myriad of new faces who were now in close quarters with him.
The space between him and his competitors had become so tight, he could feel his chance to succeed in a shoulder-check increase. They were right there, primed and ready to be smashed into. The girl across from him as the same idea, attempting to launch into one of the girls next to her. Søren took a good look at his prospects. The same girl that was being launched into and another unfamiliar face. Digging in his feet to get a better grip, he debated his options. And then, like an annoying buzz, his parents’ influence clouded his thoughts. You don’t want to be ungentlemanly, do you? Did they have to choose the worst time to do this? Huffing, he rolled his eyes at his own thoughts and moved forward.Action

Pre-Summer Egg Race!
Final Moderation Post
The race was intense with Dymphna and Alan having already won second place, and third place having a four person competition. Intense looks, steady steps, some really great quality eggs, all heading for one spot. A bowl. Ariana was far from going down without a fight, a Gryffindor through and through truly. But! Amadea glided out of the way of the attack with ease, leaving the Gryffindor with only one option, try and make it before her to the bowl and get revenge that way.
Ami was a trooper, having taken the longest to leave the starting line without any attacks on her and she was so close yet so far from the finish. The only way she had a chance of winning being if all four of the near winners attacked each other and they all dropped their eggs. But... that was not the case. "Ami!! You got this! You're still in it!" A bright young Hufflepuff was calling from the sidelines, trying to encourage her to success despite knowing full well there was a very slim chance of her success.
As the final four of Ariana, Amadea, Mars, and Søren approached the bowl there seemed to be a hesitation. An acknowledgment that this was the final moment before the top three were crowned. There was a lurch from all four of them, three eggs missing and hitting the ground. But one, remained victorious. Through the haze of four flailing arms, she would know her success, and the others would have to come to terms with their defeat.
Willow ran up and approached the group, grabbing Ami's hand and pulling her towards where the victors were. She gently gave Alan his cat back and looked at all of them with a beaming smile of an event gone off without a hospital wing adventure. "Dymphna, Alan, Amadea, congratulations!" She handed out their chocolate frogs and looked to the rest of them. "Thank you all so much for coming! I hope it was as fun to play as it was to watch."
She hopped off and started casting "Scourgify!" on all the places where eggs had dropped to the ground, leaving them to disappear into thin air. She wouldn't leave a mess when Professor Kibitzer had been so kind as to lend her those eggs and the rest of the equipment. She reapproached Ami with a giggle and cast scourgify one more time on her hair to rid the poor girl of the splattered egg. "I'll make sure they're hard boiled next time."

Despite Ariana's attempts to shoulder check for the third time this game, it seemed that her victim was determined to win, for the girl easily dodged out of the way and Ariana was sent off balance a little as she fought to regain her momentum. Well now she would attempt to advance. Amadea however, had sped forward and managed to place her egg into the bowl, winning her third place. The thought of losing made Ariana feel a little deflated, however it had been a fun game and the winners [in her opinion] totally deserved it.
Placing down her equipment, she walked over to the champions and congratulated them, shaking their hands. “Well done you guys!” Then she turned to Mars and said “Round 2 is coming, watch out because I won’t be so soft next time.” She was joking of course, but giving them a final wink, she swivelled round and to Amadea and gave her an unexpected hug. Maybe the girl would be able to tell that this was a way of her saying sorry. But with a wide smile Ariana had let go and was now listening to Willow.
"Thank you all so much for coming! I hope it was as fun to play as it was to watch."
“Thanks Willow! Do you need any help clearing u-“ but the girl had already made do with a simple spell and so with a wave and call at her departure, Ariana made her way back to the castle, feeling a lot more refreshed than she had felt this morning.
