Pre-Summer Egg Race!
[font=times new roman]The blonde didn't pay any attention to what was happening around her. Instead she had her eye on the prize. Dymphna was almost there! It was only when she turned around to see how everyone else was doing that she realized she was the closest one. Her gaze landed on Amadea and Ami, back at the starting line. She felt sorry for them and it was just luck that was on her side. Thankfully, she hadn't tried to play dirty and shoulder check anyone early on. That might have been her downfall.
Focus, she thought, turning forward again. Her egg made it this far, it only had a little ways to go. Keeping a firm grip on her spoon, she carefully placed the bat down and began to spin once again. If she treated the spoon and egg combo as gently as she treated her own wand, perhaps she would win this thing. It seemed that she was getting the hang of it quickly, not feeling as dizzy as before, she made to step forward towards victory.
ACTION: Attempt to advance.

Pre-Summer Egg Race!
Ami lunged for @Alan Vanes with a witch's cackle, but luck didn't seem to be on her side today. Before she could even process what was happening, the redhead was sent flying through the air, missing Alan completely. Completely in shock that her god tier body had failed her so miserably, she was in no position to catch herself as she tumbled to the ground, her spoon completely flying out of her hand. And as for her? She completely faceplanted, although she managed to catch herself with her hands just before the tip of her nose touched the ground. But what about the egg? The poor little egg flew high in the sky, soaring above the skedaddling students before arcing back towards the ground. Of course, it was just her luck that the egg landed splat on her head, leaking raw yolk and white all over her head.
"Agh!" she shrieked, trying to get as much of the egg out of her hair as quickly as possible. "This game is not vegan friendly!"
The Hufflepuff sprinted back towards the starting line, racing to get her spins done as quickly as possible. @Willow Anderson was watching her, after all, and she wasn't going to let the girl down. Willow had worked so hard to put all of this together, and there was no way that Ami wouldn't put her whole heart and soul into the race. On a normal day, she probably would've given up already, but not today.
After completing her spins, Ami took off for the center, her legs pumping as fast as they could carry her. She tried to ignore the dizziness as best she could, although it would inevitably hinder her ability to run in a straight line quite a bit. In fact, she probably look quite hilarious, wobbling about like a drunkard. Carefully balancing her new egg on her spoon (or, at least, as carefully as she could), Ami sprinted towards the center.

Pre-Summer Egg Race!
After successfully being left alone by the giant redhead, Søren gave a little cheer as she went after the poor bloke on her other side. His happiness only soared when a yelp drew his attention. Turning back to see the girl on the floor with egg leaking into her hair was purely cathartic. He thought about feeling bad for her, forfeiting the game to help her up, but the girl was already on her feet, racing back to the start.
Refocusing, Søren faced the center again and looked around to determine his next action. Only two were back at the start and the others were ahead of him. One blond girl seemed to be the closest and would surely win if she got lucky in the next round. There wasn’t much he could do to stop her other than hope someone else got close enough to shoulder-check her into oblivion. He could try to advance and reach the girl, but he would have to rely on ol’ Merlin up there in the clouds and that bastard never gave Søren the time of day.
Looking back, he noticed the redhead restart the race and contemplated shoulder-checking her. He would probably miss, but it was unlikely that he would come within shoulder-checking distance of the blonde. He should just have some fun with it, right? Nah. There were still a few players on the blonde’s tail. It was possible that they could catch up with her and slow her down. Plus, Søren’s parents taught him to never hurt a lady… Yep, that would be his excuse.Action

Risk was always something formidable in Ariana's eyes. It was certainly thrilling; something about having the slightest chance at succeeding brought such delight and excitement. Success had favoured Ariana this time round and Amadeas egg was sent flying, smashing open to an unfortunate result. Ariana didn’t see this however, nor did she notice the confused apology that was hesitantly forming as she advanced towards her goal yet again.
Determined eyes focused on her next victim. Yes, she was going in for another dirty shot. Was her cocky confidence perhaps overflowing her, was her head too filled with her previous victory to give a second thought? Only fate would know, for the young Veela’s impulse took over and she saw her chance, excitement pooling in the pit of her stomach as she rammed into Mars, yelling, “WATCH OUT!” Yet the calling couldn’t have been less helpful, at least in her eyes. Would they move in time? Or would Ariana be sent to her downfall?
This time she shot them an apologetic smile before going off again. Well, if she was doing it twice in a row then she had to at least show a little remorse, didn’t she? After all she wasn’t some heartless nobody, and as much as she was focused on winning, competitive nature sometimes went too far. Was this event about to prove such a thing? Or would such opposing thoughts yield, leading her to any type of victory? Well, she was about to find out.

Well frick. That had not gone the way they wanted. Mars stumbled, barely managing to catch the egg as May dodged. The Ravenclaw gritted their teeth. The world swam for a moment as they remembered that, right, they were still feeling the effects of that spin.
Steadying themselves carefully, they looked up, taking in the rest of the competition. Only one person was ahead of them at the moment, so it hadn't been too bad of a loss. It was obvious that the girl would win (probably) but there was still the second or third place to shoot for. Who else—
An incoming warning came from their right side. A girl was plowing over to their square, a wild gleam in her eyes. How courteous that she bothered to give them a heads up, Mars thought wryly.
In the seconds that they watched her barrel towards them, there were two options floating through their mind. Option One, they could attempt to steady themselves slightly and try to shake off the effects of the spin. That was probably the best thing to do, what with the threat shooting towards them. But then, Option Two, they could advance. That might help them win. They so wanted to win.
From the earlier look, it was only Alan and the incoming hothead even with them (and May, but she seemed a bit preoccupied finding her feet). Three people fighting for two places.
Mars grinned. Split-second decision, my ass.
They lunged forward, tucking the egg into their chest. They weren't going down quite so easily. Second place was about to be theirs. And then after, they could murder the girl for trying to attack them.
Praying to whatever gods there were that the Lioness' own dizziness would screw her over, they could only hope that they'd chosen quickly enough.

Pre-Summer Egg Race!
Moderation PostThe game was slowly coming to a close!
Strategies were changing and people were continuing to battle it out with their neighbors shoulders for the ability to be the first one to the center. However, that would all be in vain. Dymphna Teague, untouched by anyone, had strode to the middle of the egg and gently deposited it in the bowl. She was in first place! Willow would make sure everyone on the field knew it. "Dymphna has made it to the middle! Second and Third place are still up for grabs, but she is our delightful winner!" A one-woman clap situation from Willow happened in honor of Dymphna's easy victory.
Behind her many people continued to advance, Amadea, Alan, and Søren all making it a couple steps forward too, but still not close enough to the middle to deposit their egg. Ami, finally having given up on anymore shoulder checking after her embarrassing fall had gotten past the starting line. Her neighbors were safe until her shoulders itched for battle once more.
Ariana was still on an attack high however, and this time went for the not-so-innocent Mars who was attempting to move forward themselves. She successfully hit them, but Mars was able to stand steady for the most part. Their egg remained on their spoon but they had to spend their concentration on making sure they were steady instead of moving forward how they had planned to.
The anticipation grows as the ranks close in!

Well, it wasn't a success, but all's well that ends well, right? Mars felt the impact of the Lioness' weight slam into their shoulder and came to a dead stop, eyes focused on the egg that rattled in their spoon. They were not going to let it fall. It was obvious that the first place was out of the question, and second or third might be a miracle, but they refused to restart. Hope? Maybe. Just to spite her? That was probably more like it.
A painstaking second flashed by as the egg threatened to spill out of the spoon. Then, it stirred and settled, and Mars let out the biggest sigh of relief they'd probably ever before. The Ravenclaw stretched their arm out slightly, flashing a grin at their attacker.
"Nice try~" they teased. Then, their focus went back up to the task at hand. Win. Or... just as close as possible to winning as they could. Shouldn't be impossible, right? There were two people in front of them and three even. Well, bite the bullet, right? You never get anywhere if you don't move.
So, tucking the egg back into their chest, Mars made to step forward. Hopefully, they wouldn't be interrupted this time. Otherwise...

Alan would see Dymphna win and even though he would have preferred to be the person who won this, he could not help but grin at her and let her know she did a good job. However the game was far from over and there was still an open second and third spot. Alan had advanced the furthest from those that were still in the game and he did not want to change that. If he could not be the first spot he would want to go for the second most wanted spot of coming in second. He could do that easily, he would just need to focus on the goal ahead of him and try his best to advance further. He got this. This could not be all too difficult.
Telling himself this over and over in his mind the third year continued to walk step for step closer to the middle of the circle, hoping the reach it before anyone else; minus Dymphna. Alan was sure that he could manage to do this. He also had not to worry about Tiger as he was safe and with Willow who would protect the little Bengal with her life if necessary which the third year greatly appreciated.

It seemed that Mars was smarter than the gryffindor originally anticipated. Well, they were a ravenclaw after all, what had she expected? Mars managed to balance their egg and froze, keeping steady control. Ariana’s spirits sank a little and she groaned in slight frustration.
This emotion didn’t sweep her off her feet however, for she continued to stay determined. If she couldn’t win, well then it was all about the fun, she would get there in the end but she might as well crash through everyone as aggressively as she wanted. Only jokes, she would advance forward, intent on reaching the goal for at least third or second place.
Before she did so however, a comment from Mars was shot in her direction and she snapped her head back, amused, a smirk playing on her lips.
"Nice try~"
She couldn’t help shooting back her response to this, for she could be a blabbermouth when she wanted; always desiring the last word.
“I see you did take my warning then. Nice going.”
And she sped off, advancing as she now focused on reaching the end, the goal. Even if she didn’t come first or second place, she still had the achievement of shoulder checking two other people and not herself being knocked at all. Even if one of them had been unsuccessful, the concept was joyfully welcome to her, rather like blatching on the quidditch pitch. She was always in for such reckless acts. Who wasn’t?

Pre-Summer Egg Race!
Søren was sure he wouldn’t get anywhere close to winning. The giant to his left saw to that, severely hampering his chances. He supposed it wasn’t too disappointing. There would surely be some jealously when the winner lifted their prize, but this game wasn’t the type to be taken seriously. He was a rich pureblood and rich purebloods get what they want, but he was sure there was no way he could pay off the game master this late into the tournament. Maybe he shouldn’t have overestimated his abilities and paid the girl off before the game began.
It took the last round for him to give up on winning, but he did not anticipate being back in the running for second or third place. He trudged forward and looked around the circle, noticing that only one other person was ahead of him. Turning back, he spotted the giant all the way in last place and he couldn’t help but giggle at the sight. The blond girl, the winner, stood in the middle of the circle with a freshly deposited egg. Søren cursed, wishing he tried to shoulder-check her early on. It was possible that the stunt would have negatively affected him more, but his regrets did away with those thoughts. Grimacing, he continued forward, hoping that luck would be on his side today for another round.Action
