Eyre was tired of having to fight to get his parent's attention. After his parents had sent him a letter chiding him for having an interest in subjects that they deemed 'practically useless,' he decided that he was done.

It was time to make a change. He had wasted enough time doing what they wanted, it was time to prioritize what he wanted.

For his first order of business, he posted a request to the Bulletin in the Study Room:

Eyre wasn't sure if he was going to garner any sort of response from the Bulletin, but he figured that it didn't hurt to try. He was unsatisfied with how he had waited until the end of the school year to start getting into what he wanted, but he had vowed that he would stop wasting time from that point forward. Aside from his parent's approval, he had nothing to lose.

Eventually, May 15th rolled around. Eyre sat at a table closest to the door, his copy of Fantastic Beasts sitting on the table in an orderly fashion next to his quill. His hands were sweating, but were folded neatly in front of him, anticipating someone to walk through the door at any moment. When he felt like he had been waiting for too long, he checked his watch.

"3:05... Maybe no one is coming." He thought to himself irrationally. "Damn it, I've ran all the way here from Charms class just to twiddle my thumbs...What a useless idea this was. "

At that moment, he glanced over to the doorway, where a kid around his height had entered. He was clearly looking around for someone. Eyre wondered if this was the mentor that he was looking for.

Mustering up as much courage as he could, he raised his hand and called out to him.

"Oi! Are you the one from the Bulletin I posted?" Eyre asked, waiting for his response. He hoped his assumption was correct. Sure, he had gotten better with managing his levels of social anxiety, but that would be quite awkward for him and the unsuspecting bloke at the door if he was wrong.

one morning this sadness will fossilize and i will forget how to cry. ☆

@Eyre Reeves
Dale liked helping people, he didn't really know why he assumed It came from helping is friends near the start of the year, the only class he couldn't ever tutor anyone in was transfiguration, he was frustrated at the very thought of that class, he doubted that he would ever be able to cast the spells outside of a classroom setting.

Dale looked over the bulletin board, looking for a request he felt like he could fulfill. There was one thought caught his eyes, Dale had to squint to read the writing, he always had a hard time reading cursive, in muggle schooling that had never been an issue, but at Hogwarts, so many people preferred using cursive.. he took the paper off the board carefully and gently put it in his bag

on 3/15 Dale made his way to the study hall, he looked around the room, looking for the person that put in the reply, he spotted one first-year who looked like he was looking for someone, "That's gotta be my guy" Dale thought to himself, as he made his way over, the kid seemed to notice him and called out to him. Dale was glad he assumed right, "Yeah, I think so.." Dale quickly pulled out the request, "This the request you put up?" Dale asked the kid.
