@Ariana Walker :sweatingbullets: So sorry this took so long, I totally spaced out and forgot to write this up

It was late, although not past curfew, as Thomas walked back to the castle. He had been spectating one of the many Quidditch practice matches in the training pitch, and once that was complete he shuffled back trepidatiously. The boy had many questions for the members of the Gryffindor team (those who he'd been watching), though he was far too apprehensive to actually ask them. Ever since hearing about Quidditch on the train to Hogwarts from Adonis Thorn, thoughts of the sport had occupied a lot of the boy's thoughts. Was it truly like football, or rugby, or other muggle sports that were raved about? Tommy remembered the excited chatter that went around during the World Cup, and a half-smile broke out on his face as he reminisced. Despite his lack of passion for spectator sports as a whole, his mother always adored them. The thought of his family began to make his heart sink, despite how happy the memory was, and he quickly put it to rest before homesickness took hold.

Idly, the boy kicked a rock in the general direction of where he was walking. In truth, Thomas didn't have to head back to his dorm right away, and the cool air was rather hospitable all things considered. Although he felt a twinge of guilt at not starting his Herbology homework as a result of the stroll, Tommy ended up procrastinating regardless, wandering somewhat aimlessly through the school's grounds. He likely seemed a bit lost in fact, eyes flitting from feature to feature somewhat listlessly as his pace slowed to that of a crawl. It wasn't often that Thomas slowed down and allowed himself to think a bit, and at the moment he was reveling in the opportunity. He hummed to himself, likely one of the Muggle pop hits that were often stuck in his head (much to his chagrin), occasionally even singing a few lyrics as he remembered them. His song of choice was Sunflower from the Into The Spider-Verse soundtrack, one of his favorite movies, and one of the last movies he saw in theaters before he went to Hogwarts.

Despite his fascination with the sport from a clinical point of view, Thomas also couldn't help but wonder what it was like to actually play. He was never a particularly athletic kid; he grew up fast and agile, but not particularly coordinated otherwise. No feats of strength would be coming from him, not at all, which of course made him a poor choice for the vast majority of the positions on the Quidditch team. His bordering-ADHD level attention span ruled out the rest, so it was unlikely that he'd be getting a spot on the Ravenclaw team any time soon. Plus, he was afraid of heights! No, Thomas would probably never get the chance to play Quidditch, not unless some serious changes happened in his life to address those issues.

Still, he couldn't help but be a bit curious... If only any of his friends were actually on the Quidditch team, then he could ask them about the sport. He didn't feel comfortable enough on his own to just approach and ask a stranger unprompted.

@Thomas Baines
A particular sense of enlightenment was almost radiating off of Ariana as she bid farewell to her teammates and started back towards the castle. Her quidditch robes were tucked somewhat messily into her school bag, so that they evidently spilt out, in constant danger of tumbling to the ground as she walked. Grass-stained sneakers did not halt in their stride however, and she continued her stoll back towards her dorm, cheeks flushed pink from the refreshing air and long brown hair slightly ruffled from their enthusiastic practice.

Humming. The lovely sound reached the gryffindors ears steadily, the sound piercing the evening air nicely. Green orbs widened in curiosity as she slowed her pace, eventually stopping completely in her tracks. The song sounded incredibly familiar, where had she heard it before? After several vain attempts to grasp the memory from the depths of her exhausted mind, Ariana gave in to abandoning the thought, that was until she caught sight of who was singing such a propitious melody. It was a boy, probably the same age as her; although from this far away Ariana couldn’t quite make out anything more than that he was a ravenclaw. The blue of his robes glistened visibly against the darkening landscape. Eyebrows raised in mild amusement, she was prompted forward by instinct, feet slowly wandering towards her target.

Aha! She managed to grasp the memory at last within her last few steps towards the birb; the tune had been from a muggle movie. She only knew this because her dear cousins had come to visit just before she had left for hogwarts. Since they were half-bloods they had a fair shot of the world from a muggle perspective. Ariana could almost visualise them singing the bouncy song, for they had eventually taught it to her after she had bugged them on telling her what this tune they had been repeatedly humming was.

A hand reached out to the boy, tapping his shoulder from behind before she spoke. “Hey, hope I didn’t startle you…” she started brightly, “You really have got a knack for singing.” A smile followed this genuine statement and she took in his appearance, hues swiftly noting his features. “If you don’t mind my asking, where was that song from?” She felt a little silly at the lack of her knowledge regarding the muggle world, she had been raised completely within the wizarding society, and while she found it highly intriguing, there was no doubt she was fascinated by muggles, how they got around, what they did for fun...it was all so amusing to learn such information.

She checked her watch, noting the time; curfew was round the corner and she couldn’t care less in all honesty, however as a member of the quidditch team, she didn’t want to get kicked off, order had to somewhat take place. She tilted her head slightly to the side, hues scrutinising his face in search of an answer.
Apologies this took so long! I completely forgot that you wrote it up! 😅
