Diabolical Donut Drama
6th July, 2020
Just after middaySlava glanced over at Margo with a mischievous smile on his face, snickering lightly. Everything was coming together now. They had a daring vision—to convince some poor soul to eat a donut filled with hot sauce. They had conceived of this genius plan a few days ago, after they had managed to sneak away a nearly empty ketchup bottle and a container of hot sauce that was still almost full. Earlier in the day, the two troublemakers had met up and scooped out the rest of the ketchup, replacing it with hot sauce. Margo had successfully grabbed some donuts from various places when they were offered, and so they had ended up sitting in the grass with their “equipment” scattered around them. “Doctor, pass the…” Slava had started to yell, before realising that he didn't know the word “scalpel” in English. Improvising, he grinned and tried to make a cutting motion to show the precision of a scalpel, but his energy and enthusiasm made it seem more like a gigantic saw than anything else.
Margo frowned. The plan hadn’t been to decapitate anyone… had it? She might have blocked out some details in her haste to keep their idea rolling, but surely she’d have noticed something that monumental. She stared at Slava for a solid thirty seconds, her features twisted in confusion. “... A scalpel!” she finally finished, a smug smile spreading across her face. She passed him a spoon (aka. extremely dangerous medical instrument) with exaggerated importance—as if it really was a sharp blade instead of a slightly bent piece of cutlery.
Slava nodded triumphantly, glad Margo was able to figure his gesture out. “This is a delicate operation,” he explained, turning to her with a grave nod and raising the narrow end of the spoon up, his arm stretching above his head as he examined it in the sunlight. He frowned. “Are you sure you cleaned this properly? We would not want our patient to become sick.”
Margo nodded sagely. “I cleaned it with the utmost care, promise.” The hem of her t-shirt counted, right? She’d always assumed Hogwarts’ washing methods to be thorough… too many teenagers for them not to be.
Satisfied, Slava nodded again and lifted a donut up, carefully scooping the jam out through the hole where it was initially inserted. This one was almost ready! He would have to hand it to her—the keeper of the hot sauce—to be filled in a moment. Finishing it up, he passed her the donut and started work on the next one.
Margo stared at the offered donut. It looked so tasty, so inviting under the sun. Her stomach required a donation. She took it from her comrade, neglecting their precious ketchup bottle on the grass at her side. Highly unprofessional, of course, but Slava never needed to know. She started to lift it towards her lips, staring at the sugar on top. A slight smudge of jam still lingered at the side and-
“Margo! Do not eat the patients!” Slava cried indignantly, leaning over at a ridiculous angle in an attempt to swat it further away from her face.
Margo fell backwards with a giggle, trying desperately to smother her laughter. She hastily picked up the ketchup bottle. “Of course, doctor. I shall now insert the dangerous chemicals.” She carefully lined up the hot sauce-filled bottle with the hole in the donut. It was almost as if fate had foreseen the future, causing them to take a bottle with a narrow end and a small hole just perfect for delicate and spicy operations such as this. Communal barbeques really were a prankster’s playground.
Before long, they had successfully filled several donuts with hot sauce and removed the jam, wiping the outside clean to make sure that the hot sauce wasn't quite as visible. Slava placed them all in a basket that Margo had so graciously provided, making sure that the normal donuts were at the bottom in case they wanted a snack later, and the spicy ones were on top.
Margo grabbed the final, non-spiced donut and took a heavenly bite. Two figures looked as if they were approaching in the distance and she grinned, a smudge of jam on her teeth. Time for their first victims! But how to get their attention…
“You just forgot my half birthday?!” Margo shouted. “It’s the second, not the third, dimwit! You promised on our honeymoon that you’d never forget! I’ll never trust you under the influence of gillywater again!” She just hoped Slava wasn’t too shocked to reply.
Slava looked at Margo in shock—not because of the weird nonsense she was spouting, but because he was playing along. “You are angry at me? I only forgot your half birthday once! You cannot even remember the name of my fourth fish’s second cousin! That has happened twice! You just tried to poison me because I forgot your half birthday!”
Margo wiped at her eyes dramatically as Slava spoke, praying that she didn’t have any chilli on her hands. If she did, well, at least it would contribute to the effect. She grabbed the basket and handed it to Slava, shoving their equipment into her pockets. Time to make their mark. ”Poison? Why, I did no such thing! These donuts are delicious, and obviously un-poisoned. They even work nicely with my delicate metabolism!”
They were getting closer to the two figures, who Slava could now see were girls and likely near in age to the diabolical duo. They had probably been within earshot for most of this conversation. He made a pouting face at Margo. “You are just cranky because you have not had your 13 cups of coffee this morning,” he pointed out, a defiant look in his eyes.
They closed the last distance between them and the two girls, but Margo was too busy glaring at Slava to properly observe them. She leaned in slightly towards their companions as if she was revealing top secret information. ”You can’t really trust his word anymore, poor soul. Just the other day I found him riding a mop around the house like a broomstick.” Margo hesitated, trying desperately to smother her glee. She shook her head, as if morose. “Well I suppose it’s obvious who’s really the boss in this relationship… fancy a donut?” Margo held out the basket, managing to school her features into an expression of utter innocence. Laughing was for later. Now was show time.
Slava glared at Margo. Seriously? Riding a mop? He couldn't laugh yet, not now that the girls were here. And he couldn't even answer her comment how he'd like to for fear of scaring them away and ruining the prank! “She is right. But it is not like that!” he quickly protested. Margo offered them a donut and he smiled, just as he would normally, but he was very excited. Watching, he prayed that they took one.

Diabolical Donut Drama
Opeila had a good day so far. She once more woke up early, got some breakfast and then found a nice spot a little away from the tents to read a book. Today there was no camp activity she wanted to attend, so instead she had a day to herself. The Slytherin had heard that there was a stargazing planned tonight, but Opeila didn't want to go. With half of Hogwarts around it would likely not be comfortable and at the moment Opeila simply didn't want to see certain people.
It was enough if her cat showed up from time to time and poked her for food. That was literally the only time he ever was nice to her, when it was time for food.
After a few hours of reading, Opeila lost her feeling for time, but as the sun was still quite high, it was likely around midday. It was then that Opeila was first interrupted by someone other than her cat. A very strange scene took place in front of her, that made her feel like she was personally being messed with. Why else would people yell such nonsense at each other and so loud... Frowning she looked at the students. A girl that she had sometimes seen in the corridors but never spoke to and a boy, who's accent sounded like some of the Durmstrangs'. They kept shouting something about a forgotten half-birthday, poisoning each other with donuts and... that the boy's fish had four cousins. The corners of Opeila's mouth went up a little, suddenly she had to hold back laughter. As weird as this scene was, it was funny somehow.
The Slytherin didn't really expect them to come towards her though. And- a Hufflepuff girl a meter or two away, that Opeila had not noticed before. The girl told them that she saw the boy ride a mop like a broomstick the other day and offered them donuts. Opeila looked at the Hufflepuff girl for a second- this was likely the weirdest but most hilarious scene of the camp she had seen for now- except for Zyk being attacked by Loras maybe. "Uh... Sure. Thanks", she said and took a donut.

── ❋ ──@Opeila Seilun | @Margo White | @Ruby Cazares𝓐madea was enjoying summer camp so far. It was a lot different than summer camp had previously been, but she enjoyed being with all of her friends and enjoying the summer with them. It was helping her take her mind off of the prospect of going back home mainly because she was attempting to fix Scott and Ami's friendship; even though things weren't going well, Amadea was enjoying spending the time with all of her friends.
She was a bit overwhelmed with the sheer amount of students that were here and she tried to mainly stick with her small group of friends, not bothering to fawn over the Durmstrang boys like many of her peers were doing. While she certainly found them to be intriguing, she wasn't going to spend all day flirting with them. In her eyes, it seemed like a big waste of time and she didn't think she could ever make a fool of herself the way those girls did. Even at the opening bonfire, girls were tripping over each other to introduce themselves to the foreign students.
Amadea hadn't dropped her habit of taking daily walks even though the school year was over. Though she was no longer taking daily walks around the beautiful grounds of Hogwarts, she still enjoyed walking through the many encampments that had been set up for the upcoming Quidditch game. So many people had set up such elaborate campsites that Amadea didn't know if she could even consider it glamping anymore...it was like they had taken their house and made it portable (namely Scott and his grandfather clock).
As Amadea made it out of the maze of camp setups, she spotted another figure standing there. While Amadea didn't recognize the other girl, she was in a friendly mood so she went up and introduced herself. "Hi, I'm Amadea!" she said brightly, sticking out her hand. Since the students weren't in uniform anymore, Amadea couldn't distinguish which house she belonged to, or if she really went to Hogwarts at all. Before she could add anything else about the school she attended or ask any other information about the other girl, she spotted two other figures approaching in the distance. While she had heard them laughing before, Amadea hadn't heard anything they were saying and smiled at them. It was a good thing she was in a friendly mood; usually being approached by three strangers would have spiked her anxiety, but she was feeling good about it today.
As the figures closed the distance, the girl leaned in and began spouting something about a mop and a broomstick, though Amadea didn't catch the whole thing. Even the part she did catch confused her. Who were these people, and how did they know her...or the girl she had just introduced herself to? Before Amadea could say anything at all, the duo had held out a basket to Amadea and the still-nameless-girl standing beside her filled with donuts.
Amadea couldn't say no to a donut. "Wow, uh sure, thanks!" she said with a smile, grabbing one of the donuts from the basket. Sweets were Amadea's weakness; ever since she had been allowed to travel to Honeydukes in Hogsmeade at the beginning of her third year, she had craved the delicacies that were offered there and stocked up every time she went to Hogsmeade. Sweets were something that Amadea didn't think she could ever live without and something that she wished she could eat all day without gaining so much weight. But now that the school year was over, Amadea wouldn't get her sweet treat fix until she was back at school in the fall, so a donut seemed heavenly.
Amadea eagerly bit into it, ready for the mouthful of sugar. Unfortunately, that wasn't what happened. The unsuspecting Hufflepuff had just bitten into a donut filled with hot sauce. Amadea spat out the donut, hoping that the others didn't think she was rude. Spice was something Amadea had not prepared herself for, and frankly, something that she didn't love. Tolerance for heat was something she had never had, despite the number of times she had been set on fire. "Oh my gosh," she said as her eyes started to water. "This is a prank!" she exclaimed as it finally dawned on her. "Wow, you got me good," she said to the two pranksters and looked over at the other girl to see if she had fallen for it as well.── ❋ ──

Diabolical Donut Drama
Let’s just say that it was extremely fortunate that Margo did not have the ability to read minds.@Ruby Cazares, @Amadea Campbell and @Opeila Seilun
Firstly, she would have pursed her lips at Opeila’s seeming dismissal of the beautiful stargazing activity — because, come on, who didn’t like the stars! (Okay, so that might have been a little petty, but Margo’s passions were like helpless kittens whose honour she just had to defend). Secondly, Amadea was thinking about boys, and, more specifically, how she was not interested in them. Now, this was currently a rather touchy subject in Margo’s mind. Slava was, as far as she knew, a male, and, though she didn’t have any problem being his partner in an epic crime, she was afraid that people might get the wrong idea. Not that she cared a lot about what people thought. Definitely not. She just... didn’t want to be a mere face amongst the crowd, a girl ‘fawning’ — as Amadea had put it — over a gorgeous attractive Russian boy. She was no doe to be dazzled! She was strong and feisty and... currently very hungry. Merlin, the non-hotsauced doughnuts were good!
So, as any not-blind person could see, it was a good thing that Margo could not see into other people’s skulls. She was perfectly content in a daze of sweet, jammy doughnuts and devious pranks. Speaking of which, wasn’t it time to embarrass her ‘husband’ further? Or maybe just introduce herself to their victims.
”I am Margo Preobra—“ she paused, sweating slightly from the stress heat. How did one pronounce Slava’s surname again? But perhaps it would be better if she didn’t try out her Russian accent for today.
”Ehem.”
Hey! The only reason she was sweating was because of her questionable Russian. She didn’t care for Slava’s last name one bit. “You know what? Margo will be just fine.” She tried to grin at the two girls, though it might have turned out a little more like a grimace.
And that wasn’t all that was going wrong. For some unknown reason, Margo’s cheeks were burning. Was the British sun brighter than usual? She couldn’t be... blushing. They were just play acting, was all. The jumping in her stomach must have been indigestion from eating her doughnut too fast. She chanced a glance at Slava’s eyes. Had they always been such a nice brown? Like dark, melted chocolate on a sunny aftern-
Margo suddenly decided that her train of thought was not useful in the slightest. She had to focus on the prank! Amadea and Opeila were lifting the doughnuts to their lips. This was the moment she had to savour for the rest of eternity. But, Merlin’s pants, why couldn’t she stop thinking about Slava’s fierce gaze?
Amadea bit into the doughnut and promptly spat it out. Margo choked, trying to hold in her laughter. Thank gosh for that! She had been cured. No more thoughts of dark curls and even darker eyes clouded her mind. She was one hundred percent focused on the amusing event at hand. Well, maybe ninety-five percent?
The point was, Margo didn’t know if Opeila had fallen for their amazing scheme yet. She had an act to sustain! And she’d be damned if she didn’t see it through to the end.
“P-prank?” She asked Amadea. Her voice changing pitch slightly from badly hidden laughter. She could cackle for hours at the look on the girl’s face. “I’ve got n-no idea w-what you’re on about, dear.“ Margo gasped for breath. }I’m afraid w-we’re a little frazzled after last night. He was r-riding the mop around the house until at least t-two AM!”
Margo grabbed onto Slava’s shoulder so that she wouldn’t fall to the ground giggling. Was that some muscle she could feel beneath her fingers? Giggling. She reminded herself. Focus on not giggling.
A grin like a crocodile and a bob like a funny catfish

Opeila took the Hufflepuff's- Amadea's- hand. "Opeila, nice to meet you." The other girl introduced herself as well. Or... tried to? Her first name was Margo, the last name was obviously either made up or not hers, as she couldn't pronounce it.
Opeila took a bite of her donut, only a second after Amadea and froze when the Hufflepuff spit it out again. Prank? Opeila didn't dare to chew the piece of donut in her mouth, she didn't even move her tongue.
It took her another second to realize that there was no jam inside the donut, but something else, something... something really spicy. Gasping, Opeila leaned to one side and spat it out as well, holding her hair back. Her tongue felt like it was on fire. Her eyes started to water. "What on earth?!"
Another look at Margo made clear that this was no accident. Well, of course it wasn't, why would anyone fill donuts with hot sauce? Now the ridiculous scene they had pulled off made a lot more sense.
Opeila nodded, when Amadea said that they got her good. She could not speak yet, her whole mouth was burning and Opeila had never liked spicy things.
They indeed got them good.

Slava watched eagerly as they accepted the donuts. Margo was introducing herself and Slava raised an eyebrow before quickly interjecting. “Margo Preobrazhensky. And I am her angelic husband, Slava Preobrazhensky.” He nodded confidently in an attempt to confirm his statement.
Margo nodded along to Slava’s oh-so-discreet correction of her pronunciation. “Oh, I think you’re more devilish than angelic, darling.” She smirked. Really, so much arrogance was foreign to her. It wasn’t as if she had any. Not at all.
Slava blinked, completely baffled by this outrageous claim of Margo’s. With a frown much too dramatic for such a small statement, he protested, “Me? I am not!” He glared and nudged her. They had a plan! This wasn't part of it. He turned his attention back to the students, who had seemed a bit hesitant to take the “sweet” treat at first, but they took a bite, and that was what mattered. The ginger spat it out but took it well overall. Margo had broken down, stuttering because of the giggles that seemed to never cease. The Russian boy was laughing along with his “nemesis”—on second thoughts, they should definitely rename their relationship. Partners in crime had a much better ring to it… he would make sure to bring that up later.
The other girl who had been pranked—Opeila, she said her name was—seemed to not be taking it quite as well as Amadea had. Her face seemed to express some genuine pain. Wide-eyed, Slava glanced back at Margo. What were they supposed to do about that? He hadn't really thought this through or realised that some people wouldn't react well to spice. Oops. He was slightly panicked as he looked at his “wife” for help, feeling sorry for Opeila.
Now, Margo would have been lying if she said she felt sorry for Opeila. She was much too giggly to be doing any thinking about pity. She grinned at the poor girl in triumph. Surely a fellow Slytherin would appreciate a well won victory? And what a victory it had been. But, perhaps she could win gracefully—with limited deviousness. Margo sneaked a glance at her fellow prankster. Slava’s panicked expression seemed to think the girls deserved a little more than burning mouths and watering eyes. And Margo had the perfect way to make peace. At least, with their two, helpless victims. “Would you two care for a normal, non-spicy donut?” Margo asked politely. “I swear, the ones underneath are unpoisoned, just like the one I was eating earlier.”
She turned to Slava with what she hoped was a warm smile. His sorrowful expression indicated that their act had finally come to an end. But… Margo wasn’t quite sure if she was ready to let go of the fun just yet. “Slava dear, how about we have one as well. In celebration?” With an innocent smile, she handed him a doughnut from the very top of the pile. It was time to see if this Russian boy could actually live up to his arrogance. Were angels affected by chilli?
Perhaps Slava should have known better. When one was dealing with a troublemaker, one probably shouldn't proceed to trust said person. But he was young and foolish, and he liked Margo, so when she smiled, he interpreted it as genuine warmth. “Yes,” he said very simply, picturing the delightful taste of the sweet donuts that he had managed to resist devouring a few minutes earlier. He was so focused on his imagination of what it would be like that he failed to actually pay attention to the place she had taken the donut from. He took a big bite of it… and his mouth was filled with the spice.
He glared viciously at his companion. “Margo!” How dare she? “So you have been trying to poison me!” he yelled indignantly, his volume covering up for the fact that his mouth felt like it was on fire. “Your own husband.” He grimaced and shook his head disapprovingly.
Once again, Margo’s laughter got the better of her. She stumbled to the side slightly, snorting rather impolitely. Slava’s grimace and overall disapproval caught her eye and she could contain herself no longer. She laughed. Loud and unashamedly. “C’mon.” She snorted. “You should have seen your face.” Margo raised an eyebrow. “Besides, I’m just trying to help you improve your resistance to spice. I would never dream of poisoning my spouse.” Let’s just say her devilish smirk suggested otherwise.
“If it is so funny, then you have a bite!” Slava dared her with a scowl, but he wasn't truly upset. He shoved part of the uneaten portion of the donut, which he hadn't touched, in her face expectantly. “Pass me one of the normal donuts in exchange. I have to get rid of the… poison. It is surely poison. But we will see who is really the boss.”
Margo gulped. She was trapped. How could she back down from a challenge set by her ‘enemy’ and coworker? So far she had done a good job portraying just how tough she was. She supposed she could always ask Amadea and Opeila to prove that the donuts weren’t, in fact, poisoned. But… Margo did wonder if their burning mouths might not be the best supporters for her cause. There was only one thing for it. She could take a little spice!
“Eeeek!” Margo hissed. In her blind enthusiasm she had taken a rather large bite of Slava’s donut and it was not particularly tasty. Her eyes streamed and she coughed a little to try and get rid of the fire behind her lips. “Poison?” she asked Slava with a pained—and hopefully innocent—smile. “I’ve no idea what you’re talking about!” In a final, desperate attempt to get rid of the pain, Margo sucked in her cheeks like a fish. She looked at the basket of their ‘special’ donuts with glittering eyes. “Well, partner,” she said, or at least tried to. With her mouth in its current fish-like state, ‘partner’ sounded more like ‘prtnr’. “I, for one, would call this a success.” And, finally relaxing her mouth into a smile, Margo raised her hand for a high five.
Slava laughed at her, almost as loudly as she had at him. Her attempt to hide her pain was valiant, but ultimately unsuccessful, and he continued snickering for a while after. Her face was just so funny. He couldn't resist it. Still giggling, he gave her a firm high-five. “Yes, it is a success,” he confirmed with bright eyes and pulled her into a spontaneous hug.
Margo smiled happily into Slava’s shoulder. She felt almost light from all their shared laughter. It had indeed been a job well done.

Diabolical Donut Drama
[font=PT Sans]Interesting things tend to happen when he decided to take on a walk himself, he kinda accepted his fate at this point. Some events would serve as entertainment for him. Like when he saw sad kids and tried to ruin their day for pissing him off by being sad. Yeah, those events he could live with. But then there’s that event like that BBQ. God, he didn’t even want to remember that. It was one of the most embarrassingly traumatizing human interaction he had ever experienced. Embarrassing memories weren’t frequent in the boy’s life considering his pretty shameless and flamboyant personality. But that interaction with that - that - Russian alien never failed to make him daze out for a few minutes. Just… contemplating . An activity Hanako seldom does.
He tried to break down what happened and figure out a way out of this mess but it all turned to mush the second he recalled the older boy’s words:
“I will see you on our date, Hanako Tone.”
“I will see you on our date, Hanako Tone.”
“I will see you on our date, Hanako Tone.”
“I will see you on our date, Hanako Tone.”
And just like that- he stopped his tracks. He had never been so tired from making the same disgusting face over and over again. It was no surprise that Hanako didn’t favor the whole ‘ dating ‘ concept as seen with him threatening a friend’s girlfriend to back the hell off and whatnot but that didn’t stop him from doing some playful flirting once in a while if to piss the other person off. Worked well so far so why did it completely backfire on him so suddenly?
That dratted Russian Dimsum alien happened. That’s what.
“やれやれ。。how annoying" he muttered bitterly. In the end, the boy could not do anything but hope to never see him ever again. Hide from him, basically. How was he supposed to know he’d responded so seriously? He refused to take a nice walk out in nature just to think about him again.
So of course the second he heard his dear friend Opeila Seilun not too happy voice- he didn’t pass up an opportunity to have some fun.
But apparently someone else had beat him to it. The first thing he saw from afar was PeePeePei- face red and twisted in what seems to be pain . She looked far from comfortable with teary eyes and all and for a second there was just a...teeny tiny bit of concern. He didn’t like her, yes, but he didn’t want her hurt- too much. Any leftover worry he felt all dissipated when he saw she wasn’t the only one in pain and took notice of the donut in their hand. He wasn’t born yesterday, he knew at the glance that this was a prank.
A marvelous prank his dear PeePeePei fell for and he spared no hesitance to marvel at the scene and laughed. He truly was blessed today. Even if he wasn’t the one to do it. He scanned the area to find out which angel he had to thank for. His eyes landed on two individuals.
One of them, had, unfortunately, stolen his attention way to quickly. Right there, laughing his head off with another girl that seemed to rather have fun with having their tongues burned. More fun than the other two girls were having, for sure. Hanako wasn’t that far off the scene, but he could not hear the words exchanged between Slava and Mystery girl. Only that they had hugged in the end while forgetting the other two’s existence so, with that, Hanako drawn the conclusion that the one that made his day was the one that made him suffer a few days before.
He and that other one but she hasn’t asked him out and mentally scared him so Hanako left her alone. Now, normally he would’ve gone up to the couple and shared his compliments for their actions and making him entertained. To be honest, he didn’t understand what made him stay rooted to the ground, just examining the er..touching scene with a smile on his childlike face.
It felt odd that just a few minutes ago just thinking about Slava had made him nuts. Always painting him as a crazy dimsun student that didn’t know what he was talking about. Blaming his bad mood on some stranger that was most likely joking about something that was incredibly sensitive to Hanako. But maybe seeing him do something as entertaining as a donut prank- and to fool PeePee Opeila at that- he felt some sort of ..new light?
Hanako was no easy forgiver. But he did seem like some of the closed curtains before had been slightly opened. Come to think of it… he felt pretty good to be around with, didn’t he? If he were to decide against joking about stuff he was upset about, would the outcome had been different? Letting out a last laugh at the scene, he turned his heel and walked away. His head, undeniably in a lighter headspace than before.
Perhaps a date with that dimsum student wouldn’t be that bad?
