Dear Elsian,

I know that it has only been a few days, but I thought that I might say hello again. I talked to my aunt and she said that after I get back, you might be able to come over to visit for a little bit. I still have to speak to my father about it, but I doubt that he will mind. If you are not able to come and visit just to visit, I should be able to get you and your family an invitation to the ball my father will be holding. Maybe then I will be able to prove to you that I actually can dance.

I really hope that your parents allow you to come over if my father says that you can. They can even come and visit my aunt and father if it will make them happy, that is if my father is not working.

My brothers also sent me a letter saying that they want to meet you. They want to know everything about the Gryffindor house since no one in my family has ever been in that house before. You don't have to do anything for them though, I normally just ignore them. Well best wishes to you, I hope that you have a wonderful summer.

Dear Elsian,

At least you didn't wake up to a cat sleeping on your face. It is highly unpleasant when it occurs. Nights here are mostly quiet, if you count the fact that you can hear the other schools nearby. It isn't awful but it could be better. If Hufflepuff weren't competing I probably would have gone home. I will already have almost no time for myself once I get there. I have a competitions two weeks after I get back and a recital the week after that. It could be worse though.

I could think of worse things to do than go shopping, at least she spent a little bit of time with you. I haven't seen my father since September and he didn't even drop me off at the station, my aunt did. You probably should put your piles of clothes away though, even the thought of a messy room is unappealing.

My father said that you are allowed to come over, he just won't be here and said that I need to behave. I will try and figure out a day that you are able to come over. I won't be headed home until the 20th so we have a little more than a week until you would be able to come over anyway. I am thinking that we would be able to see the horses, but I don't full know what else to do yet. I may even take you out to the racecourse to show you the track. Some of the horses might even be practicing. If you can think of any ideas tell me, I am willing to do almost anything.

I will have to ask my father if I would be allowed to come over, but I doubt that he would argue. He probably wouldn't remember if I asked him anyway.

A cat? Over there? I'm guessing it to be a tent mates or have you gotten a familiar? You're right about one thing that sounds bothersome, be sure to not get suffocated by a purring ball of fur and claws during the summer yeah? I'd hate to have to go to a funeral; I finally found company of someone unbothersome compared to the rest of our classmates, don't ruin that for me. I'll complain at your grave and you'll never have peace.

Competitions and recitals? Can't say I've ever had to deal with anything of the sort. I used to have to do more gatherings and the like but majority of it was crammed into my lessons before Hogwarts and beaten into muscle memory so I'm rather lucky on that front.

And not that bad? Well that sounds like a volunteer if I've ever heard one. I'll make sure to tell my mother about a wonderful friend of mine who absolutely adores fashion and you can come along to keep some of the heat off of my poor soul. Also don't remind me, I had to start separating the bags and boxes just to get to my writing desk and gave up one third of the way and am now writing this. I thought I had the patience to separate the ribbons from some of these stores boxes but I don't. It isn't worth it no matter how pretty the ribbons are. My fingers can't take it.

I would love to see the horses though I warn you now, If I get bit by them all levels of trust towards horses will be broken. Also I'll cry because they are huge and I'm not sure my poor frail fingers would survive that sort of betrayal. I'm willing to be patient but do try not to forget about me lest I waste away in the comfort of my boredom. I'll haunt you if I do and once again you will never know peace again.

If your father doesn't remember then surely he wouldn't mind if you snuck out. Or at least, that's the sort of things my auntie likes to say. 'Elsian why are you sitting here reading? Shouldn't you be sneaking out and planning heists or getting lost in the woods with friends?' she says.

Obviously I'm not causing enough trouble like her and my mother used to. So maybe you an help with that.

Dear Elsian,

Even though I have started school and am no longer home-schooled, my father insists that I continue lessons over the summer. When I get back I will have lessons multiple times a week as to 'not forget' what I have learned during the school year. I don't get any time off most of the time between dance lessons and training with the horses.

Also, tell your mother that I would love to go shopping with her. I enjoy shopping in fact and do it quite often with my aunt. I am actually in search of a new ball gown so if she knows anybody or anywhere, please inform me. You can come along if we go, you can carry all of my bags and boxes for me. In case of the ribbons, I get my brothers to do it for me. Most of the time I make it a competition to see which one can remove the most ribbons and they fight over it until it is done, less work that I have to do.

I will have you know that my horses have better manners than half the people at our school. Most of the time they act like little puppies. If you are so afraid of getting bitten, I will have you meet Olympia first. I think you will absolutely love him. My horses have never bitten anyone in their lives, although you could be the first.

I don't think I would be able to forget about my only friend at school. Who else is going to make me a little stuffed bat. He is sitting on the top of my truck with my mother's astronomy book by the way. If you do die of boredom, haunt me all you want. I have twin younger brothers who think it is fun to change my shampoo out with hair dye. I don't think I ever knew what peace was in the first place. My aunt has tried to get them to behave, but they just don't care.

Have you never sneaked out before? I may not like to get in trouble at school but that has nothing to do with my home life. My brothers and I once decided we were bored waiting for our father to get home and just walked out of the house. Some muggles that live down the road from us moved soon after but we still swear we had nothing to do with that. They were planning to leave soon anyway. My brothers and I have also sneaked off to Diagon Alley before by floo powder. I am pretty much saying that I can leave my house at anytime I wish, so visiting shouldn't be much of an issue. I also don't mind causing a little bit of trouble, it gets boring having lessons most of the day.

I should have a date of when you can come over soon, so expect an itinerary of what I will have planned in the next letter.

Dear Logan,

I shed a single tear for the injustice of more work during summer. What a cruel world we live in. I'll make sure to take an extra nap for you.

Mother could honestly probably show you a few different shops that might have the sort of gown you're looking for...Merlin knows she likes to go on hour long trips whenever given the excuse so she'd probably cry tears of joy if you gave her that sort of chance by taking you to look at gowns. I refuse however to carry your bags, I refuse to die so young from death by shopping. It is not how I picture myself going, I'd much rather leave this world in the comfort of my bed during a nice nap.

I suppose I can trust you and your horses for now. But know the betrayal I'll feel if I prove to be the first person they've ever bitten will be bitter and ugly and I will cry for the tragic end of my hand.

And only friend? I feel so special. I change my mind, I'll carry one box of yours. The smallest and lightest one granted but I will carry it with only a little bit of sass. Proof of how tolerable a friend you are. Also thank you for the permission to haunt you, I'll try to make you proud as your personal haunting. I'm glad the bat is well, tell him I say hello and forgive him for the damage he did to my fingers all those months age.

You know, when you mentioned your brothers wanting to know about Gryffindor I was truly fine with it...but the more you speak of their antics the more I fear for my house. They sound fearless... and I have no doubt if they got into my house they would possibly be the up and coming lead troublemakers of the Gryffindor house...and I fearfully respect that chaotic energy.

As for sneaking out yes, but constant enough that I truly wonder if it can even be considered such anymore since its practically just a normal night nowadays. But besides late night runs, actually sneaking out anytime else would require me to actually have...boundaries? I'm old enough to be on my own unless there's something my parents planned to do but I don't have to worry about that sort of thing much so I can just go as I please as long as I don't go missing and cause a panic. Plus, getting into trouble requires me to get caught and getting caught is far too troublesome. I'd hate for others to pay too much attention to me, would make it harder to get away with things after all.

The school roofs for example, are a very nice place to go, and hard to get caught on too if you go at night. You might like it, the stars are very nice to look at from up there. Though I admit I missed my homes roofs. It's very nice not having to worry about getting detention when walking around at night.

Wonderful. I'll leave all the thinking to my wonderful host then. Feel free to drag me around like a rag doll, I can't promise to not be overwhelmed by all the new napping ground you're showing me.

Dear Elsian,

My aunt said that you are allowed to come over the 23rd. It would be easiest if you came by floo since we are connected into the system, just say 'Baird Manor' and you should be fine. Our floo system is in a small building at the side of our house though so from their you will have to follow the brick path to the front door, but it shouldn't be to difficult. Attached is the itinerary for the day, so make sure you wear appropriate clothes.

I would love to go shopping with your mother and I doubt that you can die from shopping, although at this point anything can happen. I can shop for hours on end but only end up getting a single thing because I think so much about everything that I get. My aunt hates it because she wants me to buy anything that looks good on me.

If my horses end up taking your hand off just by biting you, I am going to be impressed. I truly doubt that either one of them will bite you though, I mean Jupiter is afraid of butterflies so I don't think he will do too much to you.

If I only have one box does that mean that I will not have to carry anything or will you make me carry it anyway? I don't mind carrying my own boxes, I mean if you are to weak to carry a box I understand, I can do it myself. Having my own personal ghost doesn't sound awful, you would follow me everywhere but at least you would still be my friend.

You don't have to get caught to cause trouble. You can cause as much trouble as you want and leave it a mystery of who actually caused it. I don't sneak out constantly, but I do sneak out often enough that my aunt now has Kall inform her every time I leave the house. Normally he doesn't tell her anything because he just doesn't care, but all well.

Getting to the roof of the school is harder than you think whenever you are coming from the first floor. You don't have to go far to get there, but I have to go the whole way through the school. The most I have ever done at school is sneak to the kitchens because they are right down the hall from my common room. The stars do sound lovely though. I have stayed out past curfew just so I could watch the stars, but I went back in soon after so that I wouldn't get caught. I normally stay out on one of the balconies of the house to look at the stars. I do appreciate being able to do things without getting detention though.

Perfect, I'll make sure to wear my most comfortable robes for when I inevitably ruin said plans by finding a new nap spot.

I'm kidding, stop scowling at my letter.

I think it for the best your aunt and my mother don't meet. I fear what would happen with the two of them egging each other on if what you say is anything to go on...I'm afraid you might have to deal with the same thing from Mother too, I have no doubt she'll push to get more than you could possibly need. You have to keep an eye on her too because she'll buy behind your back and then wait to let you know till you're far away enough that you can't get her to refund it. If she tells you to go on ahead it's a trap. She just bought something for you the moment you left the store.


I'm a delicate flower Logan so I'm afraid that yes, one box is my limit. I suppose you'll have to go on without me, make sure to warn the others about the dangers of lethal shopping for me when I die. On another note, I doubt you'll get away with only one box, but if somehow you do don't worry. I'll buy something and then you can carry my box for me. That way we can both have the illusion of being helpful. Perfect plan I think.

Hmm, you have a point. Then I suppose I do cause a decent amount of trouble. Just none of that flashy nonsense some of the others like to do. I swear there was far too much fire 'accidents' for my taste during school. I don't fancy my robes catching fire thank you very much.

Really? I guess it does make sense it'd be harder for you to get to the roofs. Perks of being on the higher floors I suppose. I have yet to be caught, but I don't have to hide nearly as much from where I leave.

Dear Elsian,

YOU ARE NOT TAKING A NAP!!!! I would highly recommend wearing something that you are comfortable walking around in and something that will blend in with muggle clothes. I do hope that you have something of that standard in your mess of a room.

If my aunt meets your mother than who is going to be dragging us around everywhere? That is right, no one because they will be to distracted trying to buy everything they think is in fashion at the current moment. I am used to my aunt buying me things that I don't want behind my back so your mother shouldn't be any different. I once went shopping just to buy a new pair of boots, my aunt sent me to the next store over to look at a new winter jacket. When I got home there were boxes upon boxes of new shoes on my bed. Apparently she is rather persuasive when it comes to having someone send our items back to the house.

Delicate flower, I highly doubt, but if that is what you want me to believe I guess I must assume that I am naturally stronger than you and must help you carry all of your stuff at school from here on out. You must be in so much pain having to carry that bag around all day.

You really plan on getting away without buying anything. You will probably end up having just as many boxes as I do anyway. You will just have to carry on of mine to make yourself seem like a gentleman. Speaking of shopping, do you have any muggle money or have a way of getting any? Please do not steal it. You will need some for whenever we go to Perth when you come to visit. If you don't, that is okay I can give you some.

If you do not want your robes caught on fire, I would recommend not coming near me whenever I practice charms out near the great lake. They normally do not end well. Also do not go near my family whenever any of us are cooking, that also normally ends in fire.

If you decide to stay late enough when you come to visit, I will show you my favorite spot to go at night when everyone else it asleep. I go there often over the summer because it is so quiet.
