Bunk beds!
A sigh escaped her mouth as she puffed up the last pillow and set it back down on the air mattress. The brunette had just finished setting up the large tent. She stood back and examined it, pretty happy with the final result. The Prefect plopped down on the bed and closed her eyes for a few seconds before standing up and begin pacing. This tent was meant for the new comers that came during the summer. Some students as soon as they got their letters decided to come to the camp early, or their parents let them come to Hogwarts to be free of their craziness for the summer. Either way she was excited to meet some new students and protect the poor children from the unfortunate chaos that always seems to strike whether it be summer or the school year.

Annie stopped pacing in a circle and looked up quickly, getting dizzy. She was impatient for new students to come, but at least she had the tent to herself. It was set up with fluffy pillows that reminded her of a duckling's feathers. There was an earthy fuzzy white and black mat on the floor and 5 bunk beds with of all sorts of colors and patterns as well as compartments to store luggage, books or what not. A strand of fairy lights hung overhead and all around the tent to give it a little lighting especially at night when it was darker and some vines made their way up the posts she had to hold the tent down and plants were scattered throughout the room to give it a calming nature vibe. Nothing too crazy but just a little fun to help welcome and comfort the new students since some would be shy or homesick.

She started mumbling to herself on how she would the new students. "Hey I'm Annie Morgan, welcome to summer camp! You'll love it here!! Nope to hyper.. "Hello, my name is Annie, I am a Hufflepuff Prefect, Chaser on the Quidditch Team and going to be a third year this coming school year." Wayyy too overkill. "Oh goodness yeah we'll just go with something simple like "Hi, my name is Annie, nice to meet you!" Her eyebrows furrowed together in thought. "Or maybe I'll just wait until people to show up.." She sighed and laid down in one of the many and soft beanbags. The girl let out a yawn and decided maybe she could nap while waiting for people to show up. Her eyes slowly closed as she began to doze off, curling her body in a ball to fit onto the smallish beanbag.
Hello new comers! It's an odd time to join during the Summer hm? Well Annie here has made a little tent for incoming Huffles only even though your character won't technically know if they are gonna be in Hufflepuff or not (sorry to the other houses! <3). This does not exclude people who have just recently joined and are Puff's that don't have tents let, you guys can join as well! She can take guys, gals, or what not since gender doesn't matter. Basically anyone who wants in but the limit per tent is 10 students so the first lucky 9 to post in here will be my tent mates! I am excited to meet you all ^^

Carrying her trunk in one hand and the book she had been reading on the train in the other, Jess walked up to the tent, looking around. Peering at the tent and trying to remember if this really was the one she had been assigned, Jess decided it would probably be better to go inside and check rather than just hover outside awkwardly, wondering. She lifted the flap of the tent and shuffled inside, carrying her trunk in behind her. Glancing around, Jess was struck by the beauty of the tent, with its pillows, fairy lights, vines, and plants scattered tastefully around its area.
Noticing a girl curled up and asleep on one of the large, comfortable-looking beanbags, Jess took the opportunity to observe who she assumed would be one of her bunk-mates for the summer. She was pretty and looked slightly older than Jess, so the first-year figured that this must be the prefect who's tent she had been assigned to. Not wanting to wake the girl, Jess sighed and set her trunk down on the floor, then climbed up the ladder to settle down on the top bunk of one of the bunk beds. Flipping open her book to where she had left off on the train and beginning to read, Jess found herself smiling slightly despite herself. The tent was nice, the prefect seemed friendly, and the weather was bright and sunny outside . . . This was bound to be a great summer.

Callista hefted her backpack on her shoulders and dragged her trunk into the tent. She noticed another girl that looked around her age that was reading. Callista said nothing, quietly shuffling inside. She also spotted an older girl with brown hair that was curled up in one of the soft white beanbags. She assumed that was the prefect... Annie? She looked up like she usually did - up was a good place to look. Up was the sky, which was sometimes bright blue, sometimes cloudy grey... and when it’s at night, it became dark blue, almost black, sometimes twinkling with scattered stars and a bright moon... sometimes the moon was just a sliver, or covered with a cloud. Sometimes you could see the Milky Way, when the sky is really clear. Callista had a feeling that this night she would be able to see the Milky Way. The ceiling was strung with bright fairy lights. There was a fuzzy black and white rug in the center, symbolizing a badger, she assumed. There were five bunk beds and a lot of fluffy pillows and beanbags. She headed for a corner as usual, sitting down silently. So soft... she thought, running her hand over the beanbag. She took off her backpack, reached inside, and slipped out her book, Artemis Fowl, by Eoin Colfer. She grinned. Callista had been reading this on the train, and she was soon caught up yet again in the evil doings of young master Fowl, the bravery of Holly Short, and the loyal actions of Butler...

Jess glanced up from the pages of the Mortal Instruments book she was reading as she heard someone else enter the tent, and saw a girl that looked about her age enter. Too nervous to say much, Jess watched as the girl came in, looked around, and then settled down to read. Looking back down at her book, eyes skimming the pages but not really taking anything in, Jess thought to herself 'Are you serious? This is Hogwarts! We're literally going to learn magic here! This is your chance to start anew, to finally be yourself. And now someone comes in, and you both just sit and read?' Shaking her head and mentally chiding herself, Jess placed the book down on the sheets and hopped down from the bunk bed, landing lightly on the rug. Wringing her hands nervously, Jess walked over to the girl sitting on the beanbag. She noticed that the girl was reading Artemis Fowl, and decided that if nothing else, they could talk about Jess's at least slight knowledge of the book. Stepping closer, Jess stuck out her hand and smiled at the girl, trying not to seem too nervous. "Hi," she said. "I'm Jess. What's your name?" Her eyes hopefully, Jess watched the other girl, waiting for her to respond.

Annie was off in dreamland but something seemed off to her. Another presence or something had entered the tent and she blinked her eyes as she woke up. The girl groggily rubbed her eyes and tried standing up only to fall backwards out of the beanbag. "Ack- wha sorry for you guys having to wonder in to see my asleep haha.." The Prefect rubbed her head, slightly embarrassed. "Well welcome you two to this tent. I am Annie Morgan, Third year and a Hufflepuff prefect so if you get sorted into Hufflepuff you'll probably see me around quite a bit." A small smile appeared on her face as she finished her sentence, not wanting to overwhelm them.

She noticed they had already chosen their bunks and both of them had previously been reading before they started interacting with each other. Good, she was wondering if her tent mates were going to get along, that would make it a lot easier in the long run since they would be spending a lot of time together. "Ah my bad, I forgot to ask your names and I assume both of you are first years?" The brunette while waiting for their responses she glanced around the room. After a few more people arrived maybe they could head over to the BBQ since it was late in the afternoon and they must have been hungry after their train ride to get to Hogwarts.

Callista had been reading quietly when suddenly someone’s voice sounded. “Hi, I’m Jess. What’s your name?” a girl’s voice said. Callista looked up, surprised, and saw that it was the red headed girl that she saw upon entering the tent. The girl was looking at her rather eagerly, and Callista winced inside as she felt a bit of pressure settling on her shoulders. Should she be her friend..? Or something? Better to just answer her question first...

“Oh... hi?” Callista realized then that she was still sitting on the beanbag, and hurriedly got up. “Umm, nice to meet you... Jess. I’m Callista?” she cleared her throat, wincing internally. “I mean, I’m Callista.” She wiped her hand on her pants and shook the girl’s head, thinking briefly, I hope our hands are clean. “Er, sorry, I’m, um, really bad at... talking... to other people...” And it’s one of my many flaws, she finished in her mind. She smiled a little at the girl - Jess, she had said.

The prefect, Annie, woke up and introduced herself. Callista’s gaze shifted to the prefect. She shuffled her feet and smiled nervously. “My name’s, um, Callista. Callista Lovis? Um, yes, I’m a first year... Er, it’s nice to meet you, Annie,” she said, bowing her head a little, unsure what to do. Should she... wave? That would probably be quite awkward. If she bowed that would probably be really weird too. If she walked over and shook her hand... no, no, no. Callista didn’t quite have the courage to do something so open. Maybe she should just stand here... and wait... for someone to say something... She itched to go back to her book, but she resisted the urge.

Jess smiled at the girl- Callista's response, trying her best to nod reassuringly at her. "It's alright," she laughed, then stopped, not wanting the girl to think she was laughing at her to be mean. "You're doing fine." If she was to be honest, Jess was secretly glad that Callista was nervous too, and that Jess wasn't the only one. Jess was typically shy, but, by some unexplained universal law, she tended to blossom into a complete social butterfly if she found out that the other person was shy too. It was strange, Jess figured, but it actually turned out to have its upsides as it ended up allowing Jess to be the social and outgoing one of the group sometimes. "Nice to meet you," Jess said brightly at Callista as the prefect that had been asleep on the beanbag earlier woke up and approached them.
As the girl introduced herself, Jess smiled, trying to hide her slight nervousness at the prospect of talking to a real prefect. She blushed at the prefect's apology, sorry for making the other girl feel uncomfortable. She waited until Callista had introduced herself, then stuck out her own hand in greeting. "Hi," she said with a nervous smile. "My name is Jess. Nice to meet you." She looked nervously up at the girl.

Felicia glided through the tent area carrying all the luggage she packed for her summer excursion! Ever since she received her letter, she had been looking forward to discovering what was in store for her at Hogwarts. The magic...the mystery...the wonder. Even though this summer camp was a mere preview of what was to come, it definitely did not fail to deliver. There are so many adventures to be had, and what better time than the present to begin writing her own.

She strove to exude a demure, lady-like persona as she began to make first impressions on her peers. However, the eccentric grin plastered on her face is sure to thwart any attempt at blowing anyone away. Felicia just couldn't hide her excitement if she tried. "Get it together," she thought to herself as she scanned the camp for a tent to make home for the next few days. When she found one that looked particularly cozy, she took a deep breath and walked right in.

Her eyes settled on three girls exchanging meek smiles and nervous glances. For a brief second, she furrowed her brow at the awkward energy in the room. Then, the presence of new friendly faces activated a sudden surge of excitement. "Ahem" She cleared her throat to regain her composure and lighten the mood

"Hey everyone! Pardon my interruption. I'm Felicia by the way." She cringed as she greeted her new tent mates with a sing-song voice. She surveyed the tent to find something to do and hide how lost she had been since arriving to summer camp. After seeing the empty beds, she decided to skip to one and threw her luggage on an unclaimed top bunk. Once she was sure her bags were secure, she turned around to face the three others in the tent, and began to play with her hair while waiting for a response. A cheesy grin was still plastered on her face.

Callista had been shuffling her feet subconsciously when a new girl with dark skin entered the tent. Callista kept her eyes down, seeing the girl out of the corner of her eye. The girl seemed to be rather excited. She had a huge grin on her face. “ Hey everyone! Pardon my interruption. I'm Felicia by the way,” the girl said with a bright voice. In Callista’s opinion, it was a little overly-happy, but in this situation it helped the awkward tension fade into the background. The girl’s bright disposition seemed to fill the room with happiness. However, Callista felt more pressure with the addition of another girl. She shuffled her feet again, and her hands started to sweat. Keep it together! she chided herself. The girl - Felicia, walked over to a bunk and claimed it. She looked at them in anticipation, similar to how Jess had looked at her, and Callista squirmed inside. Everyone seemed to want to be friends... then again, maybe it would be better for her to have a few friends here. She looked up, gazing somewhere to the left of Felicia, and said in a very soft voice, “Hi, I’m Callista.” Then she shifted her gaze downwards again. See? That wasn’t too bad, another voice inside her whispered. She wiped her slightly sweaty hands on her pants and waited.

Annie shook her head in amusement at the two shy, awkward girls whom she now knew their names were Callista and Jess. "It's a pleasure to meet both of you. Don't worry you'll get used to everything rather quickly, that is until school starts up and then the castle is huge. I still remember getting lost a few times my first year." The brunette let out a small chuckle before a small cough was heard, signaling the arrival of another new tent mate. She turned to see the new face, another girl who introduced herself as Felicia.

A grin appeared on her face at her energy. Sure there was nothing wrong with being calm and quiet but a little bit of energy to lighten the mood and get others to talk was nice too. Speaking of talking Annie had to introduce herself again to the new girl. "Well you are a little late to introductions but I'm Annie and I'm a third year prefect staying in this tent with you guys. Just to keep you out of trouble but I don't think there will be any problems." Then a thought popped into Annie's mind.

Her eyes lit up in excitement. "So all of you came early to summer camp, where are you guys from? What's your family like, muggle born, half-blood, pure blood, etc?" She tilted her head, genuinely curious. Sure it wasn't your typical first question like "What's your favorite color?" but maybe it would make the air much less tense and get the girls to talk. The Prefect eyed the books the two girls had been reading. Maybe she could ask a question about books next if that got their attention more.
