Miss Nora,

Hi! Papa allowed me to write you back considering you gave a recipe specially for me. I also got my brownies, which I looooved btw. And I also wanted to tell you that I know you made those, because papa really is NOT that good of a cook. He rarely bakes. Though he has been going on about some big cake he wants to try out. But I honestly don't think he will go through with that.

Also, I am a bit mad at you. Because your name is Nora, papa has begun to refer to me as "Cass". While he claims that he finds it a more "mature" nickname, I don't like it one bit. And I KNOW it is because he now has a friend called Nora. Aka you. But I guess you do seem pretty nice, giving me brownies and all that. Soooo, I think I will forgive you.

P.S. Nora, considering I allowed Cass to write you this letter I did think it best to add a little note. I gave her the brownies as you asked and while I did not mention I had supposedly made them it would not have made a difference as the little miss was quick to accuse me of buying these. However, she did seem to enjoy them. So thank you for that. (I was glad to see she thanked you as well in her letter, as I explicitly told her to do that.) On a further note, the pancakes were a success. Though as you will see in the two pictures I added, Cass got a little carried away in all her joy. But thank you for making her day Nora. I appreciate it.

Dear Miss Cassanora,

Thank you for your kind letter. You are most welcome for the recipe - and for the brownies. Whilst I admit that he might not have made them, I believe he might occasionally assist in baking - perhaps he will bake you that cake one day? I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed the recipe, however. It was one that my grandmother taught me when I was around your age.

Additionally - I apologise for taking your nickname. "Nora" is my nickname too. I don't think he can pronounce my actual name - Hjørdis. It's a little more complicated, so most people find it much easier to say 'Nora'. I am happy for you to be Nora, and I'll take Hjørdis, if that suits you? Though, I do have to admit that 'Cass' is a beautiful name. Did your father tell you what it means? I find its meaning to be rather fitting for you, simply based on what I have heard about you from your father. "Man's defender".

Please warn me of potential cuteness on the outside of the envelope next time before I require a heimlich at breakfast. That was most certainly rather unexpected. However, I am glad that you both had a good weekend.

We may have to work on your baking skills, however. If you want, I can show you how to bake the brownies sometime? Perhaps you can surprise her next time by making them with her.

Despite your best attempts to consume most of my half of the brownies the other day - after eating at least half the batter, mind you - I thought it might not be enough sugar for you. Well, actually, I made some cookies in honour of my father today. There's a couple of boxes in the kitchens, if you wanted some?

Since I do not actually believe you learned a single thing on the third, I have also enclosed the recipe for the Triple Chocolate Brownies that Cassanora liked. Make them for her sometime - or better yet, make them with her!

I swear I recall trying out your batter just a few times. I did admittedly take a few extra brownies. But c'mon, how could I not. You should be happy that they turned out quite delicious! I will take great care of those cookies of course!

However, I'm sure your father would have found them tasting exquisitely as well. How about maybe some tea soon? We can go through a bit of our work together and share a pot for the afternoon?

I have an urgent question, Mother's Day is around the corner (like literally, I can see the clock ticking way too fast and it is almost tomorrow). Cass does not really have anything to remember her mother by, and she often thinks about her on this day. I was wondering if maybe we could have a little talk, see if maybe you would have some advice for me? It would help me greatly. It's a tough topic to handle sometimes.

Were you aware that a group of students broke into my office today to leave a few gifts for, what I believe to be, Mother's Day? Oddly, it was the exact time I saw you earlier today. Strange, no?

Nonetheless, I hope that my advice helps you and Cassanora. I do not think it was the best advice - given the lack of children I have and the lack of maternal support. However, I do hope some of it was helpful, at the very least.
