A huge pile of wood is lit on fire, but it's burning blue not red radiating with heat that will not harm any flesh. It feels warm to the touch.

The wood pile is surrounded with cushions of different sizes and benches, some close to the fire, some a little farther. Everything is roofed by a transparent dome, allowing the students to see into the sky. They will only see thick and heavy clouds, it will soon begin to rain. It's still early in the night and the last light of the day has not yet vanished completely. In about an hour docent of yellow glowing air bubbles will fill the area, spending lights not only for the fireside but also for the students to see the long table filled with food.

Sweets of various kinds, colourful drinks and little savoury snacks are placed on a thick purple cloth, ready for the children to serve themselves.
Among them are S'mores: A classic treat to share around the campfire. They are a muggle snack that consists of chocolate, and warm marshmallows, which are sandwiched between two Graham crackers. Best served hot. The burns you will sustain on the roof of your mouth are totally worth it.Image posted by the member
Image posted by the memberThen, of course, Marshmallows: Another popular campfire
snack, and one of the most vital ingredients when
making S’mores. Marshmallows are the treat for less adventurous wizards, or those who often see themselves as being soft and, well, plain. If you identify with either category, then the simple marshmallow is the treat for you. Marshmallows also happen to make for wonderful kindling material.
There also are Starbursts: An unexpected choice of snack,
but there are a few oddballs out there that enjoy the sticky sensation of what feels like melted rubber, but tastes like
delicious, gooey, fruity stars. If you are one of those weirdos, we welcome you. Starbursts are a muggle candy, and like most of the ones on the list, go wonderfully with fire. Just be conscious of where your starburst is when roasting them, we don’t need anyone “accidentally” branding their peers with molten sugar.

Image posted by the member And not to forget Sausages: This is not the snack of
champions. It is however, the snack for the handful of
weenies out there that are looking for something savoury
to eat, instead of something sweet. And if you are one of those weenies, who are you? Why are you here? What are you doing with your life? Anyone caught trying to pair their S’mores with their sausages, will be deemed an outcast and removed from the campfire- or maybe even thrown in (not really, but you will be judged heavily).
It has been said Hufflepuffs are also flammable. Turns out, prefect Quinn's associates and teammates were against the burning and eating of this category of students. But for those of you wondering, they are actually very similar to marshmallows, when cooked.

A hint of fresh pine fills the air. There is no thick smoke coming from the fire, still, a faint odour of smoke is mixed with the smell of fresh plants. Right now the fire crackles every so often, bursting a small twig from the heat that would not harm any human.

Béatrice was waiting patiently for the first ones to arrive, sitting on a bench closer to the fire with a colourful carpet draped around her feet and with a smoking self-made pipe out of cedar. Next to her sat one of the older prefects of Gryffindor, Xailah Alptraum. The prefect is writing a letter to a good friend of hers - a lad from Ravenclaw, who did not attend summer camp; the Gryffindor appears uninterested in the activities going on.

While the others were waiting for the students to arrive. There was another Prefect of Gryffindor, Griseldis Edelhardt, who volunteered herself to be the guide of the students who would be interested in participating in it. The soon to be third-year prefect was super excited for this event and she also saw this as a perfect opportunity to finally get to know the Professor of Study of Ancient Runes and the other two Prefects who were a year ahead of her, Quinn and Xailah more. Griseldis would wait for the students on the field that was close to the forest, and since it would be quite dark during night time, especially when they had to enter the forest. She would use a lantern she borrowed from the Groundskeeper to help lighten up the path in front of them, showing the students where the campfire was. However, the flame inside of the lantern was blue and not the usual orange-red. Obviously, for safety reasons, they could only use the blue fire that couldn’t burn anything.

So, the campfire was blue.
Of course it was, thought Lucia ruefully as she made her way to the hill near the stadium, where the flames danced. Sometimes Ebony had made magical blue fires, but living in an area surrounded by muggles meant that she couldn't do it often.
Curse you, Statuette of Secrecy.
For once at this camp, Lucia was not wearing yellow. Instead, she had opted for a black and white outfit consisting of a black skirt the girl loved and a plain white t-shirt.
Looking back on it, Lucia thought that maybe she shouldn't have put so many skirts in her trunk when packing for this camp. Ah well.
Walking into the area where the campfire was set up, Lucia looked around to see that she was one of the first students there. A professor whom she didn't recognise - maybe she only taught the older years - sat on a bench smoking, next to a girl older than Lucia, who she would assume was a prefect. There were a few other prefects - none she recognised though - and a couple of students.
And food...
Sugar! Let it never be said that Lucia Fox does not have a sweet tooth, the girl in question thought as she quickly went over to the table.
There were marshmallows, a sort of Muggle sweet she didn't know, sausages - why were there sausages among all the sweet things? - and a strange mix of marshmallows, chocolate and crackers.
It looked amazing.

Valentin, the "White Niffler" came directly up to the campfire and sat down, one of the earliest to arrive. He had brought his broom, as a matter of habit as well as out of emotional attachment to it. Leaning the silver arrow against a log beside him, Valentin extended his hands out towards the fire briefly to warm them. The pale, white-haired boy glowed blue in the firelight with a slight smile to his face. He loved fire, and it would be a pleasure to gaze into it while waiting for others to trickle in. Bonfires were funny, he thought. They made people remember all sorts of things. Gazing into the fire, didn't everyone see something different? Thinking this, Valentin felt a little sad but also a little happy.

After a while Valentin laid back and rested his head on a fallen tree bough, playing a song in his head as his long fingers traced patterns of piano playing in the air. He wasn't ready to go back to Durmstrang, but he did miss having access to a real piano. If he could even get his hands on a new piece of good sheet music, that would be really stimulating. He could play it in his mind just by looking at it. Done with his song, Valentin laid his hands back across his chest and gazed up at the stars. He hoped his friends were happy as he listened to the sound of the wind in the trees.

Elspeth has been rather taken by the idea of campfire stories. It was the sort of thing she never had at home, living in a city. And she'd never properly been away to camp either--they didn't have money for that with the ongoing cost of her mother's treatment as a child and the now reality of living off a single parent's salary. The joys of a normal childhood were something Elspeth didn't exactly know. But now that she was among others her age, perhaps the opportunity for simple childhood joys could be here at last.

The area was easily spotted by the decidedly blue campfire. Elspeth had never seen a completely blue campfire, but then here in the magical world, she was learning just about anything was possible. Perhaps it was exceedingly warm as blue fire often was. This wasn't really needed considering the season, but Elspeth liked to blend what she knew of the muggle world with magical occurrences. That way, it didn't all seem so foreign--a magic grounded in reality.

Wearing a black cotton dress and with a green Galloway tartan shawl over her shoulders, Elspeth made her way out to the doom that enclosed the blue fire. It was just light enough to see her way forward, not that this would be entirely needed with the formidable Griseldis Edelhardt guiding the pupils in the right direction. Somehow, her friend always seemed to be looking out for people. Elspeth wasn't entirely sure how she did it--that must be exhausting.

Arriving at the campfire, the young Slytherin offered a polite nod to Professor Lydusdattir, someone who's class she had not attended (as it was reserved for the older years) but who she had seen bustling about the castle. Elspeth really didn't know anything about her, but she seemed as capable as any teacher and she was excited to learn what her discipline might be about one day.

Looking around, the introvert made her way to the food table, where she was greeted by a huge menagerie of treats. Seeing another girl near the food, she offered her a light smile since they were clearly here for the same thing. Of the treats, Elspeth was only interested in one thing: marshmallows. On her plate she assembled some wooden sticks and a series of marshmallows as well as chocolate and crackers, the necessary ingredients for s'mores.

Ready as she would be, she took a seat next to Gris and placed one of the marshmallows on a stick. Holding it out before the fire, she commented, "Hopefully we hear some good stories." She tried to consider if she knew anything good, but Elspeth only seemed to know horror stories that true.

It was cold, it was always cold for Zykeal. Even though the boy had grown up in northern Dublin, Ballymun, he could never get away from the chill that rattled his bones. This evening he'd be dressing in a more ominous fashion, mimicking his emotions of a mixture of depression and darkness that dwelled within him for the last few days. There were momentary bright glimpses of his normal jovial side with his tentmates and the friendships that they were creating, but, the break up with his previous girlfriend at the stargazing event had caused his mood to drastically shift throughout the course of the summer camp. This wouldn't stop Zykeal from trying to take his mind off the events of late, it was his nature to get out and socialize, he needed to use this as an escape for the moment and hopefully, the night wouldn't turn into a sham.
[font=times new roman]
Although he had to walk with the group guided by the prefect, one which he didn't even know the name of, he'd quickly part off from the group as soon as they had reached the area in which the blue flame was lit. Zykeals golden hues observed the small gathering of students from beyond where the seating was arranged around the flames, choosing for the moment to be by himself and lean his back against a nearby tree as the festivities would start. It'd take him a moment to adjust his thoughts and get into the spirit of the whole gathering. As always, the young Gryffindor had his hand holding the ivory-colored aspen wood wand at shoulder height, spinning it throughout his fingers like it was a drummers stick.

There was someone who was certainly older than the prefects that were sitting at the campfire as well, he observed, one with random markings upon her features and an interesting presentation about her. Of course, Zyk thought she was just probably another one of the lunatic wizards that were running about, causing trouble during the pre-match festivities and generally giving something not to miss when he'd return back to the muggle world for the rest of the summer. With his support left foot, his right would be raised as he leaned back against the tree and the foot of his black vans would be rested against the bark of the wood. The hand not holding the wand was clutching an older book, a used copy of a charms text that he had been studying while he had breaks during the events that were happening, it was his favorite subject, his go-to read.

There wasn't much to observe at the moment, no one telling stories and he recognized no one at the moment in the group he had come with. Honestly, though, he probably wouldn't have been able to see them as he had his hood pulled over his head so that it covered even his eyes, having had navigated only by looking down at the feet of the student that was in front of him. For now, he'd timidly watch, glinting golden irises sparkling through the flecks of the blue flame that arose from the fire, afar from the group, but, not so alone as he could have been at the time. Maybe someone would join and he'd be able to talk to them, distract his mind, he didn't know what needed to be done with himself but he had hoped that this night would lead him in the right direction.

This day was a strange one. Every morning since camp began he would wake up to an owl dropping a new letter from Ana onto his chest. He'd wrote to her religiously since the beginning of camp, and it was unlike her to not send him a fast response.

These thoughts were swimming through his head as he trekked up the hill towards the large blue campfire, the soles of his boots helping him traverse the incline. Deciding to wear them was a good call, even though they felt a bit mismatched in contrast to his light corduroy pants. He made an effort to dress better since the BBQ as a way to prove to everyone that he didn't always look like a delusional granny, but the missing spot in his routine bumped him off his game today. It was likely that it was all in his head, he'd receive the letter tomorrow and probably feel silly, but the absence in his routine made him feel odd.

Once they got to the top of the hill, he watched as everyone started to settle down by the roaring flames, but one hooded person decided to go off on their own by a tree. Something about the way he carried himself seemed familiar. He wasn't one to snoop, but he kept from a distance to see if he knew them, and sure enough he did. It was Zyk. He'd never thought of Zyk as someone to be on his own, it always seemed like he was part of the in-crowd. Something must've been up with him.

He sauntered off to the snack table, trying to find something that he could use as an excuse to approach him. Maybe he needed a friend to talk to. Jelly Slugs came to mind. Eyre knew how much Zyk seemed to love those things at the Stargazing event, and as much as he hated them, he figured it would be a worthy sacrifice to see if his friend was alright. He grabbed a package of slugs, along with a muggle soda for himself, before heading up to the tree.

"Hey, Zyk." Eyre greeted the boy. "Mind if I hang with you, mate? I've got some snacks, if you like." He extended the package of Jelly Slugs out to him, a soft smile on his face. He hoped that he'd accept his offer. Maybe a chat with a friend is what both of them were needing that night.

Aurélie's outfit:
Image posted by the member

It seemed like a nice evening to sit by a campfire so Aurélie walked with the group up the hill to where a blue fire spread heat across the open-aired space. Around the crackling fire were many different cushions, benches and other places students could find their seat. Aurélie noticed a boy wandering off on his own when the group reached their destination. Many of the students that came along had come with friends or people from their tents but Aurélie hadn’t made any friends yet since she only came to Hogwarts at the beginning of the summer. Whilst wondering whether or not to go after the boy to see if he would like some company, she saw another students going after him. Aurélie was a social girl and barely ever felt anxious to meet new people so the young girl decided to wander behind them slowly and waited for the right moment to introduce herself. She didn’t want to walk in on a private conversation so she stayed behind them for a few moments before she walked closer to introduce herself.

Aurélie’s golden eyes glistened from the reflection of the blue flames, making them stand out from her dark, freckled complexion. Her outfit for this evening consisted of a simple orange t-shirt covered by a red flannel button-up and an oversized, knitted sweater. Wearing big clothes always made her feel safe and warm. Although the fire gave off plenty of heat Aurélie loved warmth and decided to wear her favourite cardigan nonetheless. Not that cold bothered her much, she barely felt cold which was perhaps the effect of her Somalian blood. That’s why she wore a pair of black shorts with the rest of her outfit on this chilly evening. They went along perfectly with her favourite pair of boots. They were knee-high, lace up hiking boots and she wore them often because she loved hiking through the woods or stroll by rivers. They were a gift from her Nanna and she remembered her saying with a French accent; “If you can’t help but wander into those dangerous woods you might as well have decent boots. I don’t want you breaking your ankles, ma chérie..” A smile appeared on Aurélie’s face as the fond memory crossed her mind.

The young girl heard the second boy offer the first one some snacks so she decided now was as good a time as another to say hello. Marching through the falling branches and leaves she made her way to the duo and with a confident voice she spoke: “Good evenin’! How are you boys doing?” Anyone who knew a little bit about accents could clearly hear the girl was Scottish. She tried her best to speak understandable which was no problem for her. The girl had a knack for languages and could easily speak in a different accent if she wanted to. Having lived in Scotland and France but traveling a lot with her grandma made sure she knew a couple of languages and accents. The lass looked at the boys and hoped she didn’t seem like a weirdo by coming up to strangers for no reason. The two seemed like decent people who wouldn’t mind making small talk but one could never know what was going on in others minds.

Mentioning: @Charles Simmons and @Cricket Mercury

Henry kept to himself at the campfire, he thought about going with Cricket and Charles but they both seem more interested in getting to know one and other back at the tent so Henry didn't want to bother them about it. He did however hope that they would join them since he was standing alone by the blue flames, a spell which Henry has been learning over that summer but couldn't practice casting it because of the stature of secrecy, as he watched others gather with their friends to make s'mores and tell stories. Henry was only there that night because he always enjoyed stories and books so he thought maybe he could go and listen to a few, even tell a few of his own and who knows actually talk to others since he wasn't as shy as he was in his first year at hogwarts but how that he was there in the dark, illuminated by the blue flames surrounded by other student's laughing with their friends as they toasted marshmallows and shared stories among themselves Henry didn't think he could walk up to a a group and start so he stayed alone and by himself as he watched the night go on.

I knew I shouldn't have came, what was the point anyway just to stand alone and look weird or antisocial? I wished I asked Cricket and Charles to come, maybe one or even both might have joined me but then again they look quite happy talking to each other at the tent and I didn't want to seem like a burden, ugh why can't you be bloody social and just go up to someone and talk to them. But everyone looks like their all with their friends so maybe I shouldn't and juts leave and got it a night since there's no point for me to say. Maybe I'll try a s'more then leave, even through the set up is nice and I wish I was the one to cast those flames since I need practice but can't practice it because of the stature of secrecy. So it's decided then I'll leave or should I stay, ugh make up your mind.

Henry had a million of thoughts in his head has he found his way to the food table, and started to add some s'mores to a plate before he found a seat, alone on one of the benches where he watched the blue flame danced in the night along with others laughing and joking among themselves. Henry took a bite of one of the s'mores on his plate and smiled at how good the warm treat tasted, that's actually pretty good, as he continue to eat a few of the treats on his plate he watched as the others were laughing and chatting around him.

Mentioning everyone else lol

If there was one thing Scarlett loved, it was a horror movie. So how better to enjoy that than a campfire? A campfire with stories - hopefully terrifying ones -and first-years?

Since it was dark and therefore colder, she threw on one of those warm woollen cardigans that reached to your knees in a burgundy shade. She was wearing another of her numerous white t-shirts and jeans - simple, efficient, comfortable! There was nothing else that truly mattered. If you had the white t-shirt and jeans, then you could thwart the obstacles of life.

Just kidding.

Or was she?

Anyway, her hair was down and she had on her worn-out red trainers. Scarlett hopped over a stray tree root and stumbled into the pleasant campfire spot the adults had set up. The fire was pretty big and blazed an electric-blue colour. A small dome allowed the students to peer into the sky and on a thick purple cloth were many snacks - s'mores, marshmallows, Muggle Starbursts (Yes! Scarlett loved Muggle food) and...sausages? What kind of - never mind. Guess some people had individual tastes.

Scarlett immediately headed over to the food - surprise, surprise - and met Lucia observing everything. Lucia was a positive acquaintance of hers and they were in the same tent for the summer.

"Didn't know Lucia Fox had a sweet tooth," joked Scarlett. "Or are you actually going to eat sausages? I'll just be here, you can join me if you want."

To start off lightly, Scarlett took a marshmallow and ate it cold, taking a seat by the fire on one of the benches. She was excited for the stories, yes, but decided someone else should make the first move.

Tonight was going to be entertaining...

It was kinda funny how his friend Eyre noticed certain things about him, but, how Zyk played a certain act with people and it confused his friend on what Zykeal actually liked. It wasn't as if he actually liked the Slugs, actually, he hated all sweet things as they tended to give him a headache, but, he instead only had taken the Jelly Slugs before so he could maintain a level of calm with the girl known as Dealla; she really liked sweats. As Eyre approached, Zykeal noticed the feet before anything and looked slowly up, peeking those golden irises up from under the hood as to scope out who might have been approaching him at the time. A quick moment of collecting his thoughts was taken, prepping himself for the social interactions in which he had expected for the evening. This was what he was out for right? To move on.
[font=times new roman]
Eyre was walking towards him and for once he didn't mind that he was being approached. Hell, it was a welcome to site to see his friend coming over to hang out with him, or, at least seeing how he was doing. Letting his charms book settle down into his hand as he closed it and letting his wand stop its consistent twirling for the moment, he reached out a hand in what would seem to be a 'fist-bump' for Eyre to hit before the boy stopped to his side, "Yo', course' mate," he said casually, looking down at the bag of slugs the boy had in his hand and offering out to him. Shrugging for a moment, he let his wand lift up and he used the tip to push the hood back from over his head and let it drape over his shoulders for the moment.

Being polite, he'd take one of the slugs with a few pinched fingers and tossed the wiggling thing into his mouth, gritting his teeth as the sweet and sour taste of the thing ate at his taste buds, "Wicked'," he said with a pinched face. After finishing that, he'd catch the movement of girl, one he'd never seen before as she approached the two boys there. Tilting his head a bit to take a gander at the one who was approaching, he'd nod his head over to Eyre and then nod his head towards the girl as she approached, "Friend of yours?" he questioned in a lower tone so that the girl wouldn't hear as she approached. Zyks hand had maintained that grip of his wand, hilt in hand, it's ivory-colored wood lightly glistening blue from the dancing flames.

Keeping his head tilted to the side, the girl approached quite openly to the two boys who were away from the campfire and lingering on the backside of the others in the gathering. The girl had some balls on her. She approached, an obvious Scottish accent he had heard multiple times with other first years in their school, asking how they were doing... Zyk couldn't help but look over to Eyre and offer a little smirk of a smile before looking back over to the girl again, "Ya' good, you love?" he said, the smirk turning more into a half-smile, the sly creature he was relaxing his stance to seem more open. "You' a fresh?" he questioned, making up his new term for students who were going to be attending the school next year. An elbow stretched out and he nudged Eyre in the side of his ribs, "Eyre and I headin' inta' 2nd," he offered, "Watcha name?" he asked, figuring he'd get the details that he'd not normally ask. For some reason, he was feeling kind, even though he had just gone through a break up less than a week ago and didn't offer up his own name.
