When Opeila had first gone to Hogwarts, she couldn't really understand the hype about Quidditch. The Slytherin hated football and to her Quidditch seemed like the magical equivalent and frankly it put her off quite a bit.

That had changed a few months ago. Maybe it was the flying classes that changed her mind, but the adrenaline that came with leaving the ground... She loved it. Opeila found the sport quite intimidating still, but watching it was just great.
Not like football. It was probably the magic in it that made it far more fascinating to the little girl.

She sat seperated from her friends, within a group of students from Hogwarts she didn't know. Opeila didn't mind. Not knowing anyone provided the sort of public privacy she needed to process the current events.
A boy sat down on the seat next to her. An older boy, maybe in third or fourth year. That was her guess at least, as she was not be able to see a lot of him. Although it was warm, he wore a hood.

Well. That was none of her business, was it? Opeila decided to focus on the fieldd again. Willow would play. The fact that it was another school they were playing against made her nervous. In Hogwarts there were friendships that went beyond the houses, causing the players to not be too reckless to not hurt anyone if preventable. Here it was not only two stranger teams, but also with three different schools watching. This was about reputation and honour, who knew how far the teams would go to win? What if someone got seriously hurt?

Her attention briefly turned to the boy again, when he finally took off his hood, stood up, cheered... and asked for blood pops. The boy was a dhampir then, that made sense. Seemed like there were quite a few of those running around in Hogwarts. She turned her head in his direction a little and recognized him as the Hufflepuff boy who yelled and cried when the teachers announcend that they all would have to go home.
Today he seemed like he was in a better mood, his smile made the little brunette smile as well.

"Is there a friend of yours playing? You are a Hufflepuff, right?", she asked him, hoping not to seem awkward. Opeila had never been so good at starting conversations.

"Can't watch a match on an empty stomach now," Elspeth commented with a smile as she shared her popcorn with both Dymph and her friend. Confidentially, she preferred many a muggle treat to their wizarding alternative. Some magical ones just seemed outright strange--jelly slugs in particular were gross. But she tried not to make a big deal out of her taste for fear it would give away her blood status. Some people, like Dymph, were accepting; but others were not and Elspeth would really rather not subject herself to the bullying she had endured in muggle school if she could help it.

As for the year that had passed, Elspeth too couldn't quite believe it. It seemed like only yesterday she'd been sitting there confused under that hat. Still, she somewhat envied the two older girls--they had to know so much already!

Taking Amadea's hand, she nodded politely. "It's nice to meet you too!" she beamed, "Thanks for letting me sit with you." She actually hadn't given it a lot of thought. Sitting with Dymphna, who had been so nice to her, seemed natural. Still, this new face seemed nice enough. From their conversation, they seemed to be in the same year, which was cool. Perhaps she knew Dymph well.

But before the Slytherin could ask any questions or get to know this girl better, their view became obstructed by a Durmstrang by the likes of what he was wearing. Elspeth returned Amadea's look of annoyance. As the two older girls tried to talk him down, Elspeth wondered what to do. She didn't come out here to not watch a match. Pursing her lips, the introvert got an idea. Reaching into the bowl of popcorn, she picked out a nice sized kernel: round and plump. Taking it up to align it with her field of vision, she squinted slightly before launching it at the back of the Durmstrang's head and reaching into the bowl to grab another for good measure. The bowl she kept slightly ajar in case Dymph and Amadea wanted to join in this more subtle attempt to get him to move along.

This was the biggest game of the school year -- Hufflepuff versus Durmstrang. She was envious, she wanted to be on the pitch rather than them. She was so much better than them, but that was just her ego talking. Hufflepuff had a perfect season. That house not only kicked her ass but they beat every other house and finished the year undefeated. It was not by pure luck she lost, but her pride would never allow her to admit it. Today, she would be one of the few Hogwarts students that was cheering for the 'other' team. Even if it was not an act of obstinance and envy, Hufflepuff was led by a half-giant and they filled their ranks with midget giants and death witches. It was about time that they got what was coming to them Erin reasoned.

She would let out a hoot when she saw the Durmstrang team come onto the field. She was not sure what they used to grow them, but dayum. She tilted her head to the side and watched them fly past. They were just as fun to watch leaving as they were to watch coming. She enjoyed playing Quidditch, it was an outlet for her dangerous aggression but if Hogwarts students looked like this she would be an avid spectator of... Well, cough every game.

She was more trusting of the vendors than she was the food that the school served. For such a tiny thing she did eat a lot, but her food choices were hardly feminine. No sweets, no carbs, no empty calories she would lament over later. Food was not an emotional choice for her. She enjoyed jerky mostly -- hunks of dried, spiced meat that she could gnaw on. Apparently the vendors only gave 'kids' virgin butter beer, that was like giving her mud to drink. Thankfully she brought her own.

It was then that she heard a familiar voice requesting a butter beer. @Howard White, wrapped up like a frigging mummy until sunset. Whelp, now she knew where she was sitting.

"Leave," she demanded not to Howard but to the person sitting next to him. If it is a player-controlled character or NPC, she would wait for a few seconds and if there was no compliance she would do what any reasonable person does when someone is in their seat. She would sit on their lap. Not Howard's lap or if Thomas decides to make my thread awkward by hopping in and claiming he was under there! "Pfft, have it your way," she would announce. A chair is a chair, living or otherwise.

Wordlessly she would hold out a piss warm butter beer to give to Howard. Fresh out of blood pops, he was a dang weirdo for wanting one of them from the vendors. Just grab something normal like a hot dog or a turkey leg. [Her idea of 'normal' was not very normal either.] Without looking or warning she would drop the beer into his lap if he did not grab the offering or verbally acknowledge her after a few seconds. "Which team are you rooting for?"

Just a trick of the lighting they said...

The whispers of the crowds were almost enough to wrap Mars up into a place of non-seeing. It was an easy rush, a laser focus on the field that they so often fell into during class or other important matters. They were pretty sure it was a side effect of their perfectionism, but whatever it was, once they were lost they were gone to the world.

It was lucky then, that in their peripheral vision, they noticed someone waving at them. Hmm? Mars pushed off the railing, rocking back onto their heels as they looked for the source of the wave. Cassandra Ironwoods stood a little ways away, separated from the Ravenclaw by a tangle of bleachers and people's feet. Their friend seemed to be beckoning Mars to sit with them.

Mars glanced at the field and then back at Cash. The wix had already turned to someone next to them, looking at her through the dark shades perched on their nose. They smiled slightly and then forced their legs into a walking pace, heading over in the direction of their friend.

Friend. A strange word still, one that felt heavy in their mouth. It didn't feel quite right, never did really, but Mars was young and you find that to young people, there exist only friends, enemies, or strangers. The crimson-haired wix simply settled into calling everyone by the label that felt the closest. There was too little time in life to find correct descriptions.

A small hoot startled them from their thoughts. They glanced to the side, eyes meeting a beautiful, tiny brown owl. Why was there an owl at the Quidditch game? That was the question really. The bird was perched on the shoulder of a familiar face.

"Aida, what's with the bird?" they asked lightly. They'd met this wix—well, now that they were thinking about it, both of their interactions had been during parties. Mars hummed at little, staring at the owl. Then, they recalled that Cash was still waiting for them.

Giving the little group a smile, Mars bid them farewell.

"Enjoy the game! I might come and pester you later, but my friend's waiting for me," Hmm. That word again. They couldn't place why it bothered them so much. Maybe it had something to do with the pulsing loneliness they'd felt and been feeling—but they didn't want to think about that. Pushing it aside, they started back on the course of meeting with Cash. Right now was the time for adrenaline and celebration. They could deal with mopey feelings later.

After dodging a few legs and weaving their way through the bleachers, they finally made it to the green-eyed wix. She was talking with another girl, blonde and looking slightly flustered, whom Mars' had never met before.

They slid easily up to Cash's side, draping a hand on their shoulder.

"Heya, Cash," they grinned, "Miss me?"

To the other girl, they mirrored a slightly softer smile, sticking out a hand. "We've never met before if I recall correctly. I'm Mars and you are?" The silver heart pin on their label smiled out at her too, black words clearly marking out "they/them." Ever since the Pride Errand, the tiny thing had been a godsend.

[ Home, they said. I should like to go home. ]

"Not a fan, eh?" Miranda startled at the sound of the voice, and looked up to see a girl with purple shoulder-length hair and piercing green eyes. "I could explain it to you about the game and the players if you want to. If not, no sweat."

"Not really," Miranda replied with a sigh, grimacing apologetically. "I just came her for something to do. Although, if I did understand it, I'd definitely enjoy it more. So if you're willing..." She trailed off, trying not to look too hopeful.

While it was true that she found Quiditch confusing (in her opinion, books never did sports all that much justice when it came to descriptions), she also didn't want to seem too earnest, lest she scare away her only hope of learning something new.

Suddenly another person sidled up to them, and greeted the girl with the purple hair. They then turned to face Miranda, smiling slightly, and introduced themselves as Mars. To Miranda, it sounded like a strange name, something a centaur would approve of.

"I'm Miranda," she replied, and shook Mars's hand. If she remembered correctly, she was sure she'd seen the person in the halls before, but hadn't bothered talking to them.

“What! C’mon man!” Howard dismissed the snack vendor with a wave of his hand. No blood pops and non alcoholic butter beer, what a waste of coin! No outside food or beverage, the one damned time he adhered to the rules and this is what he gets. Where was Thomas and his flask when you needed him. These matches often went on for a while, what was he supposed to quench his thirst with, water?!

A voice from the seat next to him would draw his attention. Howard sighed as he looked down upon the little brown haired girl. Height was often irrelevant to age, but he assumed anyways. “Yeah, I’m in Hufflepuff.” His voice would carry a bit of agitation. It was a harmless question but Howard always felt that the students and staff of Hogwarts always put too much emphasis on House status. Hi! I’m so and so, Ravenclaw! Hey there, names whatever. Slytherin! Who cared. “Nah. No friends. Just here to watch a good match.” He answered as his eyes went back to the pitch.

”Jesus...” As usual, Howard would complain anytime Erin came around. He had avoided her for most of the year and now he couldn’t shake her. With a nod of his head, he greeted her. “Sup.” Wouldn’t take a moment before he was holding his gut in laughter. Erin Ryan was many things, but boring wasn’t one of them. The purple haired loon would demand the person next to him move. (Perhaps Opeila?) “I’d do it if I were you. Trust me, it’ll only get worse.” Howard warned her or the NPC.

“Hell yeah. Knew I kept you around for somethin’.” He snagged the Butter Beer from her outstretched hand and in one fluid movement would pop the cap with his teeth and take a swig. “Oi! It’s hot, Erin! What the hell?!” Howard protested before turning back to Opeila. “Hey you! You know a spell to cool this down?”

From the distance behind their dark shades, they saw the other wix making their way toward the green eyes girl and their companion. Mars make a stop to talk to another girl. The pale white girl that Cash seen around school but never had the chance to interact before. Mars saying somethi g to the other girl and bid their good bye.

Then the short hair wix approaches Cash. "Heya, Cash," they grinned, "Miss me?"Mars said to Cash. Cash took out their shade and put it in the small bag that they carry. "I want to say I do but then I know you will get cocky and all that"Cash told Mars jokingly. They smirk playfully. Then Mars introduce themselves to the girl that sat beside Cash.

The girl sat beside them get startled. "I do not mean to startled you. My apology"Cash told the blonde hair girl. Darn socialite etiquette, Cash thought internally. "Oh and my name is Cassandra, Cash for short"Cash said to the girl. The blonde Ravenclaw introduced herself as Miranda. "Nice to meet your acquaintance"Cash express.

Cash then glance back again at the game that is happen right in front of their eyes. The players zoom back and forth up in the air. "Okay so, let's begin your crash course for this game"Cash smile while watching a Durmstrang beater trying to hit the bludger, aiming at one of the Hufflepuff player. "In Qudditch there are 7 players"Cash inform Miranda.

"The one in front of the goal, is the Keeper"Cash point at the Durmstrang Keeper. "The one that passed the ball back and forth between them is the Chasers. In a team there are three Chasers. The ball that they hold and try to aim to the goal ring with their broom or throw it called Quaffle"Cash take a deep breath.

The game getting more intense. They need to suppress their smile. "See those two players?"Cash pointing to two players from Hufflepuff Team that fly passing them. "They hold bats. They are the Beaters for the team. The Beater job is to hit the bludger and defend their team"Just as Cash said the aggressive ball being hit by Durmstrang's beater and almost hit one of Hufflepuff's beater.

"The loose canon ball,"Cash chuckles when they see the bludger fly erratically and ready to hit whomever crosses it path. " It is called a bludger"They continue. Cash then search up in the air where is the Seeker for both of teams. Their eyes finally found both of the team Seekers.

"That two,"Cash point the two players that fly a mere inches above the ground chasing the Snitch, they hit back and forth between themselves. Trying to up top one another. "Those two called Seekers. It is a Seekers job to catch the Snitch. When the Snitch catch by a Seeker, the team won. The Snitch worth 150 points"Cash concludes.

"Any question so far?"Cash heard someone yelled to one of the team. Which team that someone yelled at, Cash was not sure.

Carolyn blushed at Henry's compliment. She was still not used to them despite receiving a similar one just couple days ago. "Thank you," she smiled at the boy. “Do you mind if I call you artist now?" Carolyn couldn't help but chuckle along with her seatmate. "Only if you let me call you photographer." She retorted immediately. This was actually a pretty nice meeting. She was usually much more uncomfortable around strangers but Henry seemed to be quite similar to her in many ways.

"Oh really?" She perked up when Henry mentioned his passion for learning. "Well I for one think that's pretty awesome. I suppose I'm lucky the sorting hat sent me to Ravenclaw. That way I'm surrounded by a lot of nerds like me," she chuckled while inspecting the players in the sky. She should start working on her sketch too. "Which house are you in? I don't think I've seen you around so probably not mine, correct?" Judging by the color of his clothes, she kind of assumed he might be from Slytherin but that didn't mean she was right. Although, then it would make sense why she didn't see him around too often given her common room was in the tower while his would be in the the dungeons of Hogwarts Castle. Still he didn't strike her as a typical Slytherin. She didn't agree with the notion that all students from that house weren't nice but usually they had a very strong presence and she felt a bit intimidated, even when they were being pleasant. That wasn't the case with Henry though...She felt quite comfortable sitting next to him and scribbling into her old sketchbook.

Henry smiled when he heard Carolyn saycolor=#0040BF]"Only if you let me call you photographer."[/color] Henry fiddled with his camera a bit as he laughed at her comment, Henry ran a hand through his hair then spoke " sure,
I kind of like that ring of that. Do you mind if I take a photo of you 'artist'?"
Henry turned in his seat so his side leans up against the stadium seat as he continued to speak to Carolyn, maybe coming by myself wasn't to bad I mean I met Carolyn and she seems like a nice and cool person. Her sketches are also incredible, I wonder if she goes to Hogwarts because I would love to hang out with her at school, either reading or taking her photo while she sketches or maybe she will teach me how to sketch which would be so cool.

While Henry thought he saw that she was speaking and caught most of it, so she does go to Hogwarts and she's a ravenclaw now that's cool. Should I tell her that I'm in slytherin or move pass it? Would she judge me for being a slytherin and start assuming things, maybe I should or maybe I shouldn't. Henry smiled at her as he continued to fiddle with his camera, nervously. After a while Henry took a deep breath and smiled up at Carolyn while he said " I'm in slytherin, but I'm not like most Slytherin's to be honest people always thought I would get sorted into ravenclaw."

"Yeah, I've never seen Durmstrang play either, I'm so excited," Rose squirmed as she said it, taking the flag from Aurelia when it was offered and murmuring her thanks, "Thank you. I guess I should have thought ahead, huh?"
They had gotten a good spot on the stands, where they would be able to see everything.
She couldn't wait for the match to start, every second increasing her rising anticipation. She would be cheering her hardest for Hogwarts, and would watch, amazed, as these Quidditch players played.
"I can't believe we're here..." she said. "It must be most all of Hogwarts, Illvermorny, and Durmstrang here. I just can't believe it, it's like a once in a lifetime opportunity!" she exclaimed. She then let her own words sink in.
Looking at the ginormous crowd, thinking how everyone here had been waiting for this moment for a long time. Everyone here was sitting or standing in wait of the promising epic match to come.
She could be reading a book in bed, bored out of her mind, or anywhere in the world for the start of her summer break, but she was here.
This was her dream.
And it thrilled her to no end.
