The sky is calling for victory

────────────────────────The sound of the bat hitting the bludger was pure delight in his ears. The sharp crack, and then the woosh as the ball flew in the opposite direction. Was it brutal? Perhaps. But he saw the beauty in it. That, or he simply didn’t think about it long enough to realize that he liked the physical power it took. No matter what, he was ready to do it over and over again, way beyond sunset.
The save had been rather last minute. Poppy seemed a bit freaked out by it, judging by the stuttering. The fact that she seemed to have it every time she opened her mouth hadn’t quite been processed. He brightened at the praise, the grin on his face stretching even bigger. He could truly do this all day. Well, that, or until his arms fell off because of all the whacking. «That’s the good old Nimbus for you!» Sure, he was reckless enough on a broom to look skilled to an untrained eye. But the difference in broom quality should in his opinion be obvious to all.
He offered to circle in front of the hoops. It seemed a shame that he would get excellent practice defending someone, while poor Poppy only had to score on undefended rings. He didn’t quite promise to defend them though. He knew he should be keeping an eye on the inevitable return of the iron ball of hurt. He should. He knew himself well enough to know that he would forget sooner or later, and get wrapped up in whatever he was doing. He did not have enough honesty with himself to admit it.
He nodded eagerly. Probably way too fast of a promise, considering how many things he found funny. «I promise…» He hesitated. He was impulsive and rash. He saw humor in almost everything. What he was not, was a liar. «I will do my very best not to laugh» He finished after a moment. He hoped the sincerity would weigh up for it not being the exact promise she had asked of him. His eyes sought out where he had last seen the bludger. It was gone. Great. He shook it off. If he just kept sweeping, he would eventually spot it. No problem there, right?
