Day 1
August 8th, 2026 - Castelobruxo vs Mahoutokoro
It's that time of the year! As the first weekend of Summer Camp approached, the Summer Duelling Games officially kicked off. A sea of excited Duelling fans swamped the surroundings near the Duelling piste, prepared to witness the rise of the newest Duelling stars. Chatters, laughter, and maybe even whispers of placing bets - the audience was getting themselves into that Duelling mood, ready to cheer for their favourite team or Duellist. This was truly one time of year.
The first day of the Summer Duelling Event was the game between Castelobruxo and Mahoutokoro. The Castelobruxo Duellists seemed to have a reputation for being quick on their feet, while the Mahoutokoro students were well-rounded players. Travelling all the way to Hogwarts from their respective schools, it was now the Duellists' time to show off their skills and prove their abilities in this foreign country, and it would be interesting to see how they strategise for the upcoming duel.
Be it tactical discussion or pep talk, it should be done right now. Soon, incantations would fly and spells would be exchanged. While we were certainly excited to know who could claim victory, there was much more to see on the field. The Duellists had strived for today's duel, and the efforts would certainly pay off. It's not about how many hits you'd struck or how powerful your spell was - it was about dreams, perfectionism, and determination.
Are you ready for this? May the best team win.

INTERACTION OPEN TO: 1 STUDENT CHARACTER
Lovely Banner By Ara VillaAugust 8th, 2026Since he attended the quidditch match for Mahoutokoro and the gang(Durmstrang and Uagadou), it would reflect rather poorly on him if he hadn't attended the other games as well. It came to his attention that none of his (yes his, his circus, his monkeys) broom racers signed up for this years summer camp. Which made it look worse if he wouldn't show up for all the summer camp games available.
He wanted to show up as support, not an eye to keep trained on their performance. Mahoutokoro's parents already did that enough. He only needed to ensure none of his students were losers. Losers as in... you could lose, but lose with grace at least. None of that forfeiting bs.
The duelists, he was sad to say- he had not yet had the pleasure to talk to directly. But he kept just enough track. For once, he hoped @Akane Shimizu didn't prove to be as much of a disappointing as her ex-golden robed cousin, @Akira Shimizu did. They were both at some point he believed, vested an interest in dueling. Before Akira decided to be a disappointment. Hah well- despite being a bit late, he at least saw Akane was still standing. Whether it was a deliberate choice on her opponents, or because the Shimizu genes helped her in one way or another, he would have to see now. Especially since... she seemed to be the only one there on the Mahoutokoro side.
A sigh escaped him. @Akari Kabukimono. He vaguely recognised their name and face thanks to the sketchbook confiscation from their friend, @Hikari Fujimoto. Even as a navy student, perhaps having a friend who was spoiled enough to think it was a good idea to have drawing as a hobby had rubbed them off and now their performance spoke for itself. Sako made a mental note to ensure Hikari's.... influence wouldn't effect a promising student like Kabukimono.
His eyes narrowed as he inspected the opposing team. After a quick quizzing on whoever was unfortunate enough to be nearby him, he realised the whole stage was tipped to benefit a team more than the other. Tch.
" Don't mind, Shimizu chan! Stay on your feet!" He encouraged in Japanese, hoping his voice would be loud enough to reach them. But he sighs, his usual polished demeanor faded and revealed the quickest scowl before he covered it up with a blank stare.
" Child. Yes, you" He called out in a bored drawl to your character. Not paying attention to who exactly he was talking to, though choosing to speak english. " Do you like dueling? If so, mind explaning to me why exactly? I'm afraid I never fully understand it."
Would the child be too intimidated to even answer? He was certain he didn't look like a headmaster now. Though he did spoke Japanese earlier, he was all in casual clothes and no glasses whatsover. He could have been mistaken for any staff.OPEN TO: 1 STUDENT CHARACTER

I had been standing near the edge of the crowd trying my best not to get in anyone's way when I suddenly heard someone calling out.
"Child. Yes, you."
I looked around before realising he was talking to me.
For a moment I just stood there. Me? Why would the Headmaster of Mahoutokoro want to talk to me?
I quickly straightened myself and looked up at him. He seemed rather seriou and that made me a little nervous.
"Do you like dueling? If so, mind explaining to me why exactly?"
I thought about his question for a moment.
"I think I do" I answered quietly. "I'm not very good at it yet but I like watching people duel."
I glanced towards the piste before looking back at him.
"I think it is interesting because it is not only about being strong. You have to think quickly and pay attention to what the other person is doing. And I think there is something brae about standing there even when you know the other person might beat you."
I looked at my fingers for a second suddenly worried that my answer sounded silly.
"I also like seeing how different people use magic differently. Everyone has their own way of fighting."
I gave him a small nervous smile.
"And I suppose it s exciting too."
I did not know what else to say so I decided it was probably better to stop before I embarrased myself.
My attention returned to the piste as the crowd suddenly grew louder.
The duel was beginning.
I stepped slightly to the side so I could see better being quiet as the competitors took their positions. My eyes followed every movement especially when the first spells were cast.
The flashes of magic made the whole place feel alive.
I did not cheer loudly like some of the others around me. I simply watched trying to understand their movements and strategies.
For now I was happy just being another face in the crowd quietly witnessing the Summer Duelling Games unfold.
"Magic can make anything happen. It reveals itself only to those who have eyes to see it"

EnglishIt was time for duelling. Finally. His own match was set up for tomorrow, and he honestly didn’t quite know how to feel about it. He liked duelling, enjoyed it even. Despite it being a sport and him having decided he was done with that genre after he stopped playing baseball. It was lame, and although he enjoyed a good audience, something about it still threw him off. But it was the skill necessary for duelling that attracted him to it. Any idiot could pick up a football and a varsity jacket and walk around like they owned the very air surrounding everyone. Duelling required skill, precision, a cold head. He was almost ready to admit to himself that he loved it.
The problem with his upcoming match was that he had been paired with folks from Ilvermorny. The incoming first year he could always deal with, if she stayed on her feet long enough to be useful. But why did God have to hate him enough to pair him with Dylan Astor of all people? Surely there had to be someone sort of competent at duelling at Durmstrang. Apparently not. So the day before his big game he had sought out the other official duel. It was other schools competing, and that was just fine by him. The participants were upper years too, which couldn’t hurt. As long as he avoided having idiots scream in his ear he could hopefully pick up a useful trick or two. Something smart enough that he could use it himself tomorrow.
He found a seat well before the match began. Trying ever so hard to look as if he just stumbled upon a suitable bench, and not because he didn’t want to miss a single moment. He sat comfortably there for all about five minutes before getting restless. The duellists gathered on the piste just as he pulled a lighter from his pocket. It was metallic, square, and quite scratched from being used regularly as a fidget. He flipped it between his fingers as his eyes zeroed in on the match about to begin. He followed the starting moves with a level of focus his homework would be jealous of. Eyes darting from one duellist to another, not wanting to miss a single moment. He found himself leant forwards with elbows on his knees, the lighter forever spinning and flipping between his fingers.
He didn’t know any of them, nor did he want to. He was here to observe and judge skill, not make acquaintances. He had almost failed to notice that he was no longer alone in his spectating. Consciously he was glued to the match. That was until the annoying dude opened his mouth. Harvey fought the urge to roll his eyes. Then did so anyway. Who would ever go to a competition just to act like a hooligan? Now, the older man didn’t seem much like the type to start a brawl, and his voice was far from the roar used by sports idiots everywhere. Harvey still judged him for it. The words were spoken in a language he couldn’t understand. A faint voice in the back of his head informed him that it was asian in origin. He did his best to ignore it as he hunched down a bit more, determined to keep focus on what mattered.
The lighter flipped and flipped again, before freezing when the same man spoke in English. He stubbornly refused to acknowledge it, and picked up his fidgeting once again. If he just kept silent, the guy would hopefully get the picture. Sadly not, as a girl answered him. Harvey straightened and looked over at them for a moment. The man wanted an explanation for why duelling was interesting. Was he a complete idiot? Scratch that, because of course he was. But even simple minded people should have been able to reason their way to the answer. «Dumbass…» He muttered it under his breath, the southern drawl prominent in his speech as always. He narrowed his eyes a fraction, looking the man up and down. He looked fancy, but he didn’t seem particularly important. Probably a useless assistant at one of the many schools gathered here at camp. The girl seemed to give a very thoughtful answer. It was true too, he had to agree to that. But why did some people insist on talking, instead of just telling the other person to shove it? Refusing to let his attention stray from the match for long, he leant his elbows on his knees once again and began mentally picking apart the styles of each duellist, one by one.
