Mars wasn't entirely sure why they'd come on this trip. Maybe it was nostalgia that prompted them, an uncanny sense of longing deeply rooted in their bones for the simpleness of muggle life. It seemed to them—now more than ever—that everything had been better when they'd known nothing of magic. Perhaps if they'd never become a wix, there would have been no attacks, no bloody rose, and no more-than-a-year period where they couldn't see their brothers.

Mars let out a sigh, standing slightly further back from the rest of the group. They could speculate and mope all they wanted, but what was done was done. There was no going back anymore. With this in mind, the Ravenclaw attempted to force the thoughts, the part of their brain that kept flashing back to the contents of that letter, away from the front of their brain. Right now, just focus on the task ahead.

So far, muggle London had been decently difficult to Newchurch. They recognized many of the structures the professors pointed out, staring up in concealed awe at the complexity of their architecture. Maybe it was the muggle-born in them, but they still felt as those achievements like those were something to be marveled at. Muggles were hardly the incompetent fools so many wixes claimed them to be.

That much was obvious. Mars had to laugh a little at the irony. Wixes thought of themselves as so all-powerful with their fancy tricks and potions and whatnot, but instant messaging? Nope, not an option. Portable super-computers that are more powerful than the ones that took people to the moon? Totally beyond them. It was funny really, to compare the advancements of wizarding society to that of muggle.

Whatever the reason they'd come, Mars was glad for it. It had been so long since they'd been able to use their earbuds. This was heaven, they decided, wandering along behind their classmates and professors with one bud in their left ear, half-listening to Professor Galim's words while slowly nodding along to the beat. God, they'd missed music that wasn't played by their own hands.

Heaven—it was almost heaven. A pang of sadness washed through them at the thought, but they forced it away quickly. Hurrying to slip through the doors to the next building, the earbud almost slipped out of its resting place as they came to an abrupt halt. Evidently, they had not been paying attention.

A wax museum.

Huh, an interesting choice on Professor Galim's part, though really, it made enough sense. It was an easy way to get students familiar with the faces of prominent historical figures. Tucking the music back into its proper place, Mars jogged lightly up to one of the statues. They poked it gently, before recoiling. Right, probably shouldn't touch things.

The statue's lifeless eyes seemed to stare at them and they gave it a small glare back, crossing their arms in front of them. Their eyes roved to the sign next to it, taking in the name. Hmm, unfamiliar. They stared at it a moment longer, trying to commit all the detail to memory when a beckoning from Professor Galim startled them out of their thoughts.

Mars glanced over to her, seeing that the others had gathered by her side around what looked like an Albert Einstein figure. Giving the statue a final glare, they headed over.

Slipping their phone out of their pocket to paused the playlist, they took their earbuds out, letting them hang out of the top of their shirt. All eyes were on the professor as she explained what the museum was. Then, she assigned groups out of the students present. It was kind of like a scavenger hunt, but also kind of a ploy to get them interested in education. Mars respected her for that.

They frown slightly when their name wasn't called. They shouldn't have been surprised really, they'd stayed near the back and had totally paid attention, so it was probably a given that they'd been missed. Still, they should probably go and ask.

After the others had dispersed, the Ravenclaw approached the Muggle Studies professor.

"Um, Professor Galim?" they asked, scratching the back of their neck, "I don't think I got a group. I was—kind of lurking in the back." Tilting their head slightly, Mars spun in a slow circle, taking in the museum.

"This place is pretty cool though," they mentioned when they came to a stop, giving Professor Galim a smile.

"Tallis!"

Eyre gave his good friend a big hug once she came up to him, no doubt blocking the people behind him who had to move around them to keep walking. He hadn't seen her in a few weeks because the end of the school year kept him confined to the library most of the time, but he had promised her that they'd meet up at the museum to make up for the lost Sundays. "I missed you!" He said. "I'm surprised that we haven't run into each other until now..."

He let go of her as soon as he could, his hands gripping onto the strap of his backpack as his friend asked him if he'd gone to a muggle museum before.

"Can't say that I have.. My parents and I usually only go to London to shop sometimes." He explained. "You're going to have to tell me who all of the wax statues are. I'm certain that I won't know any of them." He figured that he might recognize some of the superheroes, since he was a big fan of comics, but he'd probably at a lost for most of the celebrities. Thankfully, Tallis was a muggle-born and would be a very helpful guide to have at a time like this.

"Did you get anything at the gift shops, when you were on the tour?" He asked her. "I've spent way too much muggle money today..."

one morning this sadness will fossilize and i will forget how to cry. ☆

Eyre hugged her once she got to him and told her that she would half to help him figure out the wax figures. She laughed slightly and nodded, " I'll try to tell you who everyone is if I can, there may be a few that I don't know." She smiled and Eyre asked if she had bought anything at the gift shops. She nodded and put her hand in her pocket, pulling out a small ginger cat charm. The cat had big green eyes and little round glasses, little brown spots all over. "I got it for my dad, he really likes cats and this one is basically him if he was a cat," she explained, fondly looking at it.

She would be lying if she said she didn't miss her parents, she had never spent so much time away from them. The charm was kinda for herself at the moment but in the end she would end of giving it to her dad. She carefully put it back in her pocket and looked back up at Eyre. She had also gotten a comic for Eyre that she thought he might like but she would surprise him with that later."So ready to see some wax figures of some famous muggles that hopefully aren't haunted," she teased slightly. While she did tease about it, she herself actually had a slight fear of wax figures and things like them such as mannequins so she was slightly afraid to go further into the museum. She didn't show it though, or at least she was trying not to. She smiled slightly up at him, once again looking around the museum, possibly to calm her own nerves.

Upon getting the slip of paper that said 'WON THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE AND 250 OTHER AWARDS', it was relinquished to May within a minute. The half-blood held it out to her betwixt two fingers with little interest after reading it. Once the information was known to the group, he slipped his hands into his pockets as the unknown member of their group made a suggestion.

"Well. Unless anyone knows who this is off the top of their head, I suggest we just start looking around. Perhaps there's a section for Nobel Peace Prize winners." Reid swiftly turned his head to look about the hall, wondering if he could find a sign that indicated to that. "Right well ..." What could he do? What could he use? But maybe, it was who he could ask.

The student walked over to the woman who was leading them and gently tapped her shoulder. "Professor Galim? Is there a Nobel Peace Prize section around here?" As nice as it was to wander, he was worried that he'd eventually get lost and getting lost was too embarrassing to even think about. Plus he wanted to find this person before the other team did. She didn't entirely say they couldn't ask and he possessed no map, perhaps he'd be able to get a hint. If not, he could just go back and even suggest to split up.

While Selene seemed to be someone of much fewer words in comparison to Callie, the girl didn't seem to mind all that much as the pair continued to follow the crowd. After all Callie for better or worse was quite the chatterbox. However even with her talkative nature she couldn't help but feel slightly intimidated by Selene as she carried herself with a certain grace Callie seemed to lack. "Hopefully! I nearly broke my glasses last time so I don't want a repeat of that." She giggled nervously whilst tucking the pamphlet into her pocket. "Living death?" Callie snickered at the prospect of the figures around them suddenly springing into life. If the apocalypse turned out to involve strangely realistic wax figurines of celebrities Callie wasn't sure she'd be all that angry. "You know considering that I only just discovered this whole magic thing like a year ago I'm half expecting all these weird figures to turn out to be something super weird." Callie admitted with an easy going smile as she looked around the room briefly before turning back to Selene.

"Ackermann? That's a weird first name...are you one of the fancy people who call themselves by their surnames?" Callie asked curiously as she rocked back and forth on the balls of her feet. "I love riddles! Or maybe I hate them, I'm not entirely sure anymore. Having to solve riddles just to be able to go to bed every day probably does something freaky to your head." Callie looked Selene up and down for a moment and put a finger to her chin for dramatic effect, as if she was a detective about to crack the code on an elaborate murder mystery. The grace with with Selene seemed to carry herself was something Callie had grown to attach to members of Slytherin although it felt rather odd to immediately lump anyone like that into such a place. The final piece of the puzzle came in the form of how mildly intimidated Callie was of the girl in front of her. It was this intimidation of Selene which made Callie link the girl with Slytherin house as over the past year her housemates had grown to have a similar impact on the young girl. "Slytherin, right?" Callie wanted to justify her choice although the opportunity was cut short by the voice of Professor Galim.

When the professor announced the groups Callie wasted no time in joining up with her counterparts, gesturing for Selene to follow with a friendly smile. "Logan?" Callie questioned with an excited grin as she rocked back and forth on her feet. "Ooh! Have you guys ever seen Wolverine?" She questioned as she idly drummed her fingers against her thigh out of a mixture of both habit and nervousness. "You know, out of all those movies? Did you guys see the last one? Logan I think it was called? I watched it with my dad! Man it was super cool..I didn't quite get all of it though.." Callie trailed off and pulled out the pamphlet she'd acquired earlier, hunting for any section resembling superheros. "Logan is Wolverine's name! It might be a coincidence but I'm sure there's a figure of him around here somewhere..."

Boniface had only briefly joined the summer camp last year, more as a new professor arrival trying to get acquainted with the Hogwarts life than anything else. But when he heard that Professor Galim wanted to take the kids to London this year as a part of the summer trip, well, who was Boniface to deny himself the indulgent? Even though he was Scottish and grew up in Muggle Scotland, he still had a deep fascination with the world he was once a part of.

There were a lot of kids. More than he expected, really. He didn't know what to expect, but he didn't really think many kids would want to see a museum. He knew they were "old" and "outdated". But, he also did assume that if the Muggle Studies professor was the one organizing it, then surely that was where their interest stemmed. Boniface was just along for the ride as one of the resident muggle-born professors. He was rather content with his role.

He walked alone, mostly. Well, there were kids trailing around, and Maya was there, but he wasn't doing anything extraordinary or chatting with anyone. Even in his youth, Boniface was not one to interact unless he needed to. Besides, he was saving his mental energy for when the kids began to ask questions about what all they were seeing.

Maya felt the learning commence when both groups were figuring out what their clues meant. They had the entire museum to search from them. Some were stuck and did not know where to start while there were others who had an idea and would head over to the area. Maya was ready for questions and newcomers, however, staying exactly where she was so it was easy to find her.

A Ravenclaw girl came up to Maya asking what group she could be in. Did Maya forget her or did she come late? Maya smiled at the young girl and pointed at the second group. "You will be with group two. Your clue is 'LOGAN'. Please go join them," she said, ushering her to follow the group that was figuring out their clue.

Maya looked at the front entrance and she saw Boniface entering. He had come in a little late, but it did not bother Maya at all. He probably took in the muggle environment, knowing that he, too, was muggle-born like her. Maya was about to interact with Boniface when a Hufflepuff came up to her instead, tapping her shoulder. It was Reid Kovacs, a soon-to-be fourth year student.

"Mr. Kovacs," Maya acknowledged. He had a question about what Nobel Peace Prizes were. She didn't think about the fact that the award was muggle-based and not a lot of magical folk would understand what it was. She was happy to give her own definition. "Nobel Peace Prizes are awards that are given to those who change the world," she answered. "Perhaps find an area that changes the world," she said, smiling at the boy.

Maya looked away from Reid and walked over to Boniface. "I'm glad you could make it," she said, playfully calling him out on being late. Maya had no idea what it was, but there was a strong connection that she could feel when talking to him. It happened for the first time at the ballroom back during the Masquerade Ball. "Have you ever been to a museum such as this?" she asked, striking up conversation.
OOC: Although the scavenger hunt has already started, anyone is still more than welcome to join! Just come up to Maya and she will place you in a group! If many of you come up to her at once, she will create a new group!

Eyre goggled a bit at the tiny charm. It was extraordinarily cute. He loved domestic animals as much as he loved magical creatures, as he took great pride in taking care of the family pets when he was younger, and cats were no exception. "It reminds me of Margot's baby cat. I love that little guy." He cooed, thinking about his ginger coat and soft toe beans. He had definitely won that cat's affection over the years by giving him loads of treats, and he was one of the only things he was looking forward to when he got home. "I got Ana some chocolate coffee beans, and loads of different types of tea that I'd like to try." He felt bad, having not gotten Tallis a gift. He'd have to send her something over the break, if he was able, or pay a visit to her in London. That all depended on how grounded he was going to be this summer, that is.

"So, ready to see some wax figures of some famous muggles that hopefully aren't haunted?" She teased him, breaking him away from his guilty thoughts.

"Oh, definitely." He responded, peering into the dead-looking eyes of the Muggle scientist who was supposedly Albert Einstein. "I've seen some haunted things at Hogwarts, but there is something not quite right about these." Although he didn't know much about anyone that was in the museum, he was amazed by how lifelike and frozen in time the figure was… but a little frightened by how uncanny they were. He definitely understood what Tallis was getting at.

As he was looking around at the other statues in the room, he noticed a familiar face from the BBQ. It was Rose, the girl that had lowkey saved his life with the burn cream. He ushered Tallis over with him, coming up to the group that was trying to figure out the clue that they were given.

"Hey, Rose." Eyre greeted the redhead, giving her a shy grin and a wave. "I wanted to thank you again for helping me at the BBQ when I was dying..." He said, giving a nod and a smile to her friend with glasses as well. He tried to think of her name, but all he could remember was her throwing a cup of water at his head. Honestly, though, if he had any sort of choice, he'd rather forget all of the details of that day forever. He gestured towards Tallis.

"This is my good friend Tallis, by the way." He introduced the two, before turning to Tallis. "Rose is the one who came in clutch with the burn healing cream when I had sunstroke at the barbeque. Honestly, she's a savior."

She walked over to the girl that Eyre had introduced as Rose. She had long, red, wavy hair and her eyes were a similar color to a jade. Standing next to her was a girl with shoulder length blonde hair, glasses, and light blue eyes almost like the sky, freckles scattered across her face.

Tallis gave a slight wave to the two and decided she might as well say something. "I...It's nice t...to meet y...you, b...both of you," turning to both of the girls, stuttering slightly from her nerves. She had gotten better around Eyre with not stuttering but when she was around people she barely knew or had just met, her stutter came back very quickly.

"Th...Thank you f...for not l...letting Eyre d...die," she stuttered out, turning to face Rose. She wasn't sure what to do next, the fact that she had said this much made her proud. She wondered if she would meet anymore people Eyre knew. He was very friendly so she had a feeling he knew a lot of people. She bit the inside of her cheek, wondering if she should say anything else or just stay quiet.

She decided just to stay quiet, mostly because she would rather not embarrass herself in front of two people she had just met. She nervously played with a strand of her hair, and stared at the ground.

Rose snapped her fingers at Callie. "That's brilliant- we can start there," she said. "You're a Ravenclaw, right?" she added. Callie really was smart, so being a Ravenclaw would be fitting.
Then she spotted Eyre.
Her back straightened a little as she saw him come near, with another stuttering girl named Tallis.
"Hey there Tallis. It's nice to meet you, too. I'm Rose. Rose Moon, a Gryffindor Second Year in the fall. How do you two-" she guesterued to Eyre and Tallis- "Know each other?"
Eyre (the sweetheart) thanked her again for "saving him." Rose smiled at this. "Oh, stop it. Anyone with half a soul and a bottle of burn cream would have helped you," she insisted. "I just happened to be the first to bump into you."
Tallis nervously stuttered her thanks for "not letting Eyre die."
With a warm smile, Rose said, "Oh, of course. I'm glad I could help and that Eyre didn't... Die. Technically speaking, I don't know if he would have died, but... Eh, I'll have to look it up."
Rose shrugged. "You can join our group, I guess. We might have to ask Professor Gallim, but... Our clue for the scavenger hunt is "LOGAN" and thus genious here... What's your name again? Had a guess it could be Wolverine, so we are going to go look for a Wolverine wax statue."
