Get together!

"Dialogue" Sofia scurries quickly along the corridors, her obsession with always being early might actually come in handy sometimes. She preferred to be almost always the first person at family gatherings so she could find a quiet corner to spend most if not all the time there, alone. But this was different, it was people her age. Surely there would be someone who was a shy as her? Maybe someone interested in books? Oh, she hoped. But none the less she was glad to be invited, maybe people here are more friendly than she first thought.

She looked down at the bag she was carrying, she had baked cupcakes the night before and spent all her free time today decorating them to look like pumpkins. She hoped she had made enough for everyone who came to the gathering, and also that people liked them. She adjusted her skirt, Sofia had tried to look as put together as she could without looking like a try hard. An inch of fear crept into her mind, what if they think I'm weird.... Sofia was a worrier, always anxious about what people thought of her. It was why she struggled so much to make friends.

Her shoes scuffled on the cobbled floor as she arrived in the courtyard. Her eyes scanned around until she found what Sofia assumed to be the gathering. There were decorations and food. Although there was only one girl there so far, she must be the organiser, Sofia thought to herself. Her heart beat faster as she made her way to the girl.Hi.." She swallowed nervously."I'm Sofia, I brought these." Sofia held the bag out infront of her and tried a small smile.

Aster had noticed Cassie's poster that morning. It looked like she had worked really hard on it, and Aster was excited to see her friend and meet new people. That afternoon, she had pulled on a handmade sweater with stripes in fall colors; rich brown, pumpkin orange, olive green, and a sort of mustard-y colored yarn that she had found in a thrift store in Inveraray. It hung loosely around her, and coordinated with her fall leaf earrings. She left her hair down.

She packed up the apple cider she had made that day. Apple cider was a new recipe for her, and it had been tricky, but she thought it had turned out well. She put it in a thermal container to keep it warm, then tried to pick it up.

The container was super heavy, and had only made it down a couple of corridors when she was too tired to keep going. She set it down, rested for a bit, then carefully used levioso to levitate the jug, pushing it gently ahead of her down the halls.

When she arrived at the courtyard, she was delighted to see that Cassie had decorated it beautifully, with carved pumpkins, a tablecloth with fall leaves, and other fall decorations. She could already smell the pumpkin pie. Cassie was there, of course, and Aster saw a girl who she had seen briefly at another event... she was pretty sure her name was Sofia. No one else was here yet, but Aster had arrived a little early, so she wasn't surprised.

She crossed the courtyard, breaking into a smile, and carefully set her thermos down before turning to the girls. "Hi, Cassie! Thank you for setting this up! I'm so excited!" She gave Cassie a quick hug. "Everything looks great! Is there anything I can help with?"

Sofia looked nervous, and Aster held out her hand to shake. "Sofia, right? I'm Aster. Nice to meet you! Where are you from?" She looked down at the adorable pumpkin cupcakes. "Those are amazing! Did you make them? I love baking, but I'm terrible at decorating. You'll have to show me how you decorate cupcakes someday!" Her mouth watered. The cupcakes looked delicious.

Aster gestured towards her apple cider. "I tried to make apple cider. It's not as good as my mum's, but I think it's ok. Hopefully everyone likes it."
