Potions &partner problems Miranda Everest Closed

Henry was still trying to focus himself when Miranda said"I'll do it." He watched as she raised her hand and said"Uh, professor? We're finished." The professor seemed to looked up at them and make his way to their potion with what seemed like a small smile hidden in his face.

Henry stood next to Miranda as the professor examined their potion, he was the most nervous he as ever been since the start of his first year. Henry kept on breathing quick, shot breaths as he looked over to Miranda and smiled but then blushed a little and quickly looked down while keeping a eye on the professor.

I hope we didn't miss up our potion, I wonder if we'll get the liquid luck and I wonder if their magic looks the same way that love potions worked when they come to love. No stop don't think that, that could be dangerous and have horrible results and plus if sure Miranda might understand you feelings and even have them in return, shut up your not going to bloody tell her! What if you miss up your relationship with her, wait what's the professor saying oh god I wasn't paying attention and missed what he was saying. Now he's walking away, wait come back I didn't hear, well Miranda is smiling a bit so maybe it's good.

Henry turned his head to her so their eyes met, his cheeks still a bit red as he said" what did he say, I was sort of lost in thought."

"Hmm," the professor said sternly, eyeing their potion. He inhaled deeply, as if testing the scent, then picked up their cauldron - careful not to spill anything - to take a closer look. As far as Miranda could tell, the potion looked and smelled like it was properly brewed, but one couldn't be entirely sure until one tried it. And honestly, she did not fancy doing that.

"Yes, very good..." the professor murmured, snapping her back into the present. A quick glance at Henry showed that he still looked zoned out. "Both the coloration, scent, and texture are good, although you might have wanted to stir it a few more times for maximum effect." He paused, setting the black cauldron back down. "But yes, you succeeded in correctly brewing Amortentia. Of course, we will not be testing it out today for the obvious reasons, and because I don't have enough of the cure for all the students in our class". The teacher nodded at them once more, then headed off to check on another pair.

"Well, that wasn't so bad," Miranda said, quickly stirring the potion a few more times like the professor had recommended. "I think we won."

She glanced over at Henry, and he turned to look at her. "What did he say, I was sort of lost in thought."

Miranda chuckled quietly. "I think he said...we did it."

"That's good, maybe we have a good chance of getting that viral now," Henry have spoken to her while still thinking of uses for it. He started to gather up their ingredients and spoke quickly"I'll put these back in the storeroom for us," before he made his way to the storeroom.

As Henry entered the storeroom and started to put things backs where they go his mind started to wonder, our potion is good that's great we probably have a good chance of getting that viral but what to use it for. Maybe on a exam, but that would count as cheating and I doubt I need it or maybe on a crush.
I don't think liquid luck works the same as love potions do when they come to love but what if they do? It shouldn't matter because it's not like I'm going to use it for anything like that anyways. If I really wanted to I could just ask her anytime but I won't, I'll just ignore my feelings so I don't mess up are relationship because if she doesn't feel the same and then what happens to our friendship?

Henry quickly finished up and walked back over to his desk and grazed at Miranda before turning his attention to his textbook as his face started to feel hot when he said"so now that were finished and we know we brew it correctly, what would you use the liquid luck for if we won it?"

"That's good, maybe we have a good chance of getting that vial now." Henry paused and then picked up the leftover ingredients and tools. "I'll put these back in the storeroom for us." He stood up and headed off, leaving Miranda alone with the steaming cauldron of Amortentia.

"So now that were finished and we know we brew it correctly, what would you use the liquid luck for if we won it?" Henry asked, and Miranda jumped slightly. She hadn't noticed his arrival, as lost in thought as she had been.

"I might be able to use it to get better luck when it comes to seeing a magical creature..." she said, her gaze thoughtful. "Although I'm still not sure about that. It seems like there's so many things to use it for, and then not enough all at once." She sighed, although it wasn't obvious whether it was from regret or relief.

If we win, she couldn't help but think. It's possible we won't, although, I have to admit that isn't likely. From what I can tell, Henry and I did a really good job. And, while the professor isn't easy to read, I think he approved. Well, I hope he did...

Henry started to fiddle with the collar of his robes, something he usually does when he's nervous which make sense given the circumstances but he wasn't nervous about their potion or winning the viral.

He grazed at Miranda and smiled a bit, she really is beautiful and smart to, Henry looked away shaking his head and wrinkling his nose as he looked toward the professor looking at a cauldron of two ravenclaw girls. Henry ran a hand through his hand and decided to double check their steps to give himself something to focus on so they didn't get lost in his thoughts again.

As Henry started to read over the steps again he couldn't help himself but side glanced at Miranda. What's wrong with you, why can't you just focus now then later think of this. You didn't have this problem next year but next year we barely knew each other. Ugh just stop that won't matter, she is your friend and while you may have feelings that say different they don't matter because if she sees it any differently than you then your friendship with her is gone and that's the last thing that you want. Just hide your feelings like you done before it's better th keep them hidden then maybe when your both older you can say them or you won't and you will never admit them.

Henry closed the book while clearing his throat he looked up at Miranda and smiled while saying" that sounds like a great reason to have liquid luck, it will definitely make spotting a creature in the forbidden forest easier

Henry could feel his face getting warm and thought he gulped for a second, will I be able to handle being in the forbidden forest with Miranda alone when I have these feelings for her? Henry looked away and bit his lip while he though when finally saying " hey do you think liquid luck will help with love, like a love potion." Henry chucked a but after clearing meaning that as a joke.

"That sounds like a great reason to have liquid luck, it will definitely make spotting a creature in the forbidden forest easier. Speaking of which, since we never snuck in last year, would you like to sneak into the forbidden forest with me this year?" Henry asked, and Miranda broke into another smile. She seemed to do that a lot when around him.

"Of course. There aren't any cool magic creatures around the grounds. At least, not as far as I've seen." She sighed. "I still haven't seen any yet, excluding one group of pixies that strayed too far."

Henry seemed to think about that (or maybe he was thinking about something other than that), then he asked something else. "Hey do you think liquid luck will help with love, like a love potion?"

Miranda paused, frowning slightly as she thought. "I think so. Although, it's more a question of luck, so the person won't be infatuated with you for sure, I think the feelings would have to already exist, and Felix felicis would just bring them out. Which, would also mean it doesn't create fake love." She glanced down at their cauldron with a wry smile. "A definite bonus compared to Amortentia's effects."

She fell silent, her gaze unfocused as she stared at the tabletop.

"Of course. There aren't any cool magic creatures around the grounds. At least, not as far as I've seen. I still haven't seen any yet, excluding one group of pixies that strayed too far," Miranda said, which prompted Henry to smile a bit and reply " great, then I'll send you a owl before I head into the forest so we can meet at the edge of it."

That was suppose to be joke, then why do I feel happy that she answer it and maybe I have a chance. Which I will never know because even with liquid luck like Miranda said the feelings after to be there from both parties beforehand so if she doesn't have them in return then she probably let me down easy and I look like a bumbling idiot, smiling and being happy after being let down. Wait she's staring at the table, in thought maybe, maybe she does feel the same way that I feel for her. Maybe I should say something or not maybe I should keep my mouth shut.

Henry looked at her and smiled while feeling uneasy with all the thoughts in his head, he started to looking around the room at other partners who were laughing and enjoying their spare time. Henry closed his eyes tight then reopened them, something he hasn't done in his second year yet, he turned to Miranda as he spoke " that definitely sounds like a bonus compared to amortentia. “Same here,” Miranda agreed. “I’ve read about the effects, and it’s not actually that great. The person adores you, sure, but in a way that deteriorates their mental capacity because of their focus. It’s not pretty, but thankfully not permanent if you can find a cure or wait it out.”

She pointed at their cauldron with a faint smile. "See, and you have to worry about having people learn about this, because now I'm sure most people will have to be careful about what they drink when Valentine's day and April Fool's roll around. I mean, wouldn't it make more sense to learn about the cure first? Then at least we can find a way to stop it, or at least have a friend do that."

Miranda paused, then continued. "And if it did wear off, chances are the victim might not take them being enchanted too kindly, so that often backfires." She wrinkled her nose in distaste, then smiled at Henry. "At least the potioneer gets what they deserve, in the end."

She is right about watching what we drink on valentine's day but also that it can be dangerous not to mention once the cure is given then they will probably hold a grudge against you, and I can't believe I thought about giving Miranda some even through I may have some feelings for her. I'll tell her at the end of class, yeah sure maybe that depends how I think she will react because love potion or not I can still ruin our friendship with my confession.

Alright, it's now or never I guess, Henry opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by the professor."Most of you brew the potion correctly while a few of you still failed to follow directions. As such I shall give you only one warning, if I hear of any love potion or students that are lovesick to any of you then I shall personally expel you myself," the professor mumbled as Henry quickly shut his mouth and turned to look at the professor, now you look like a idiot, ugh.

The professor continued to speak and announce the winner of the liquid luck as well as evaluate certain students potions while Henry bit his lip in regret from saying anything.

"Yeah, that's definitely right. Now I wonder why we didn't learn the cure first since amortentia is one of the most dangerous, why learn it before a cure. Especially before valentine's day where a bunch of puppy-love people might brew and use it," Henry agreed, and gestured at a few students that seemed like ones who might use it. Miranda couldn't help but shiver. She, for one, would be very careful.

Any more conversation they might've had was cut off by the professor moving to the front of the class and announcing that their time was up. He made a point of mentioning that any students that used the potion would end up in deep trouble, and that if you found yourself affected, you could go to him for a cure.

Well that's a relief, Miranda thought upon hearing that. The only problem is that you won't realize you've been enchanted. It'll be up to your friends or peers to being you to be cured. If they even notice, that is. She glanced over at Henry. At least I know my friends are intelligent enough to notice if I start acting all crazy and lovesick. I'd rather have my own emotions, thank you very much. And that means I can care about anyone I want, no matter who they are. She suddenly cut off that chain of thought, determined not to go any farther.
