A daydream away PV Lydia Finished

Ariana listened curiously as Lydia spoke, eyes widening slightly in interest as she listened to the girls lively story. “Wow I couldn't imagine you getting into a fight!” she commented, a grin on her face. “This isn't an insult or anything, but you just seem so….angelic?” She struggled to find a word, but it seemed that an ‘angel’ was a fitting term to describe this girl. She was soft and kind, seemed to be gentle and considerate- Ariana was promptly reminded of her own mother.

"What about you? Have you had fights with your cousins as well, or do you have a nice relationship?"

The question was a curious one, it brought a tentative smile to the gryffindors face in a flash. “I'm quite close with a lot of my cousins, others- well I struggle with some. For example I get along really well with my cousin Camila, but then when it comes to my other cousin Lucas- well, we could fight all day! He drives me crazy!” She gave a small laugh, smiling at the memories, “I have quite a lot of cousins, most of them live back in Argentina, though.” she readjusted the strap on her guitar, “ as for temper, well...” She put on a sheepish grin “I can lose mine in a flash!” She clicked her fingers, in front of her eyes from emphasis. “It's rather unfortunate really, but contrary to that i'm quite a friendly person.” It was certainly true. Ariana had inherited her father's impulsive nature, along with his short temper and rather reckless attitude. This had been a contributing factor to many of the girl's troublesome antics, along with alot of her successful ones.

Ariana re-positioned herself on the stool, grinning as she continued her explanation, “I've been in way too many fights with my cousins, majority of them are boys- so you can imagine the chaos in the house, well I mean in Argentina we basically lived at each others places, children are always free to play in the streets and go wherever they want!” She gestured with her arms, lifting them up as she remembered the sunny days of Argentina, the city sounds, the people, the food. “It's beautiful back there,” she said. “But my family moved here so that I could attend hogwarts.”

She smiled a little sadly before looking up again, “Not that i'm complaining” She added brightly, “I love it here!” She bent down [with difficulty because of the guitar strapped around her] to tie her laces, continuing to talk as she did so. “People are really nice- I’m just not so keen on the weather though, eugh, it's hella cold.” She straightened up again, casting Lydia a smile before checking her watch. Her eyes widened in amusement. “Wow- we've been here a while!” She laughed. However the statement wasn't a grumble at all, her mood had lightened considerably. She certainly felt that Lydia would become someone special to her; a good friend perhaps. The afternoon had turned out better than she had anticipated.

“Hey, do you want to come to dinner?" She questioned. "I think it's about that time now- Im pretty hungry” She admitted with a grin.

Ariana's comment about her being angelic made Lydia blush, her cheeks turning a lovely shade of pink. It wasn't the first time that the young badger had been called that though: often, especially when she was younger, people would say to her mother or her grandma how angelic and pretty she was, almost as if she was a porcelain doll.

Chuckling, Lydia shook her head. "I'm usually quite calm, but if someone hurts someone I love or care about, then..." she didn't finish the sentence, feeling suddenly a little silly about the idea of saying what she was thinking out loud. The truth was, whenever something like that would happen - that someone hurt people that Lydia cared for- she would feel this part of her, buried deep inside, that longed for revenge. It wasn't something she was particularly proud of, so she always tried her best not to let it come to the surface.

She listened closely to Ariana's stories about her cousins, wishing that she had the same with her cousins. When the girl mentioned her cousins being back in Argentina, it was as if something clicked inside of Lydia's mind; Ariana reminded her of Rafael, even though she couldn't understand why. She made a mental note to mention the Quiddich Captain later, and then went back to concentrating on her words.

"It's awesome that you have such a close relationship with your cousins! I can only imagine the fun and adventures you had together with them!" She said, her voice full of genuine curiosity. There was something about Ariana that made it just so easy for Lydia to talk with her and open up about her own family. When she mentioned the weather being cold there at Hogwarts, the red headed girl nodded, "You are absolutely right! It can get quite chilly here. Back in Brighton it's cold as well, since we have a lot of wind basically all year, but here it' way more humid, which makes the cold stick to your bones!" as she kept talking, Lydia untangled her legs and let her feet touch the ground.

At Ariana's comment about the time, the badger girl realised that the time had indeed flown by, and laughed together with the Gryffindor girl. She had the feeling that her and Ariana could have become good friends, judging by how well they had gotten along that afternoon.

"I would love that! This way we can chat some more, while eating some food as well!"Lydia basically beamed and got up from the stool. She collected her piano sheets, and then headed for the door with Ariana, once she had collected her things as well. Together they made their way downstairs, chatting
happily as they wlked along the corridors.

That afternoon had turned out extremely well, and even if Lydia didn't practice that much on the piano, she had gained a new friend, and she definitely could never complain about that.
