Corridors in the night
@Hasianna Burfitt
The night air in the corridors was dusty-
Not that that mattered-
Kip had other things to worry about.
After everything, she was even more...
Eh..
Not that it mattered, truly.
"I never should've obeyed my mother," Kip grunted, stomping down the long, seemingly endless hallway as quietly as one could angrily be.
...
She knew the consequence of being out after curfew would be bad, but, it wasn't like she cared- she already had accidentally hit someone in the face with a rock- she had a feeling that punishment would be worse than the one she would be getting if she was simply lurking in the hallways.
As much as she wanted to, she couldn't get it off her mind-
She wondered how everyone else thought of her-
Kip, the easily angered Gryffindor.
Kip,the Auburn haired weirdo.
Kip, the childish member..
Just thinking about who would be thinking about her was riling her up-
She didn't know why she kept getting so angry, it was just an angry hot bubble, growing bigger and bigger until it eventually burst.
She couldn't help it-
So she ran.
Past each classroom.
Past each painting.
She didn't know where she was going, but that didn't make her stop- she only stopped a few minutes later, completely out of breath, leaning over, her hands on her knees, her face flushed a bright pink.
Now, all she had on her mind was about just how tired she was- and how she shouldn't have ran that fast- as when she looked around, she was completely lost.
....
Not that she had known where exactly she was in the first place- sure, the corridors, but those were everywhere- she couldn't tell if she was on the first floor, second floor, or whatever other floors there were- she hated this.
Hated this building.
Hated the people in it.
Hated how helpless she felt.
But before she could continue to spiral on about how she hated this place- she heard footsteps. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up and she went dead silent. A teach. Approaching. She made way too much noise, and if she was caught..
..Now, she was feeling annoyed and scared-
She didn't want to be punished with detention..
So she started running again- left, forward, right, forward, left, left, right, left-
...
Until she bumped straight into someone- a girl.
The speed and force in which Kip had been going at had made both of the first years fall over- Kip falling straight onto her butt with a wince.
She looked towards the girl angrily.
"What are you doing here so late at night, it's past curfew!" Kip hissed in a rushed whisper.
Ironic, really..
Kip had been the one sneaking out..

Being hit in the head with a spell is not fun. Spending the whole day through classes and homework with a headache, Hasianna finally made the decision to head to The Hospital Wing to get fixed up by the nurse. She easily made the ache depart, quicker than Hasianna thought, and she scolded herself for not coming earlier, especially now that curfew had struck and that she was currently breaking the rules.
Classes were one of the best things about Hogwarts, in her opinion. Hasianna wouldn't miss them for anything. But detention? No thank you.
Surely she wouldn't get in trouble for being out past curfew, right? A trip to the Hospital wing doesn't mean Hasianna was doing anything bad. The corridors were dark and gloomy as she cautiously made her way down them, peering at every corner in case a professor was taking a late night walk too.
She made her way though the moving staircases, surprisingly changing exactly where she needed to go. What a rare occasion. She got lost the other day because one single staircase had changed and completely messed up her sense of direction.
She turned the corner up ahead, and heard footsteps. A professor? No. It sounded like they were running. The noise was coming from behind Hasianna, so she stops and turns around, her curiosity getting the best of her.
Wham! Another student barrelled right into her! They both landed on the floor with a flop, Hasianna landing on her side. She sits up and squints at the newcomer - a girl with auburn hair that she recognised from the Sorting Ceremony. Her name was...Kate? Kim? Ki-
Hasianna's thoughts were interrupted as the other first year hisses at her about being out past curfew. She raises one of her eyebrows, "Uh, so are you." She says, "I could ask the same thing."

Kip paused for a second, her mouth opening slightly, before she huffed quietly.
"W-well, I actually had a reason and wouldn't have gotten in trouble if a teacher saw me!" Kip bluffed, totally forgetting she was sitting on the ground.
She squinted her eyes at Hasianna, judging her as if..
As if she had done something wrong!
And she was marked as Gryffindor..
Well, not that it mattered, but..
...
"I'm sure that you don't have a very good reason to be out here, so," Kip muttered, staring the Ravenclaw right in the eyes.
Her Auburn hair swished behind her as she shook her head, "Tsk, tsk, tsk, very naughty of you-and what were you again? Ravenclaw?" She brought her hand up to her face, holding her chin with a forced smirk.
See, she didn't want to be mean, or rude, or.. Well, You know..
But for some reason the words just kept flowing out- her body making motions on its own, without her command.
She was tired- it was hard not to be.
She tried to convince herself that this was the right thing to do and say, but-...
It really wasn't working-
She got angry easily, sure, but this wasn't.. her.
It seemed ever since she came to Hogwarts, she was an entirely different person.
What happened to the Kip who laughed at every joke? Who apologized for the simple things? Who was gentle, despite lashing out on rare occasions...?
But, before she could mutter an apology, her brain forced a thought through-
'It's too late to randomly start being nice, just keep up the act and she'll leave you alone,' is what came through Kip's mind...
And the next thing she knew, she continued to talk-
"I mean, I thought Ravenclaws were ally goody goody and smart, but who knew that one of them would go sneaking around-"
But, all of a sudden, Kip was cut off..

Hasianna sat there and listened to the girl speak. She wasn't sure if the Gryffindor was trying to be rude at all, but late nights do things to people. Still, it was no excuse to ramble on and on about Hasianna like she was a faulty staircase or a stubborn portrait.
The words coming out of the girls mouth were... questionable, since this was basically the first time they have met. Hasianna didn't think she was meant to be insulting, but at Hogwarts house pride runs deep.
As soon as the girl does start talking about Ravenclaw, however, it does tick Hasianna off a bit. Not even a sorry for bumping into her? She didn't do anything wrong to this Gryffindor.
Finally, there was a pause in the girls words, until she starts again. It was time to intervene, and as soon as the words 'goody goody' left her mouth, Hasianna frowns, cutting her off.
"-I was in the hospital wing." She shrugs, "got hit in the head with a spell. Went to get some treatment." Hasianna studies the girl before her, not wanting to be rude or argue.
"And yes, I am a Ravenclaw, and I'm quite proud to be." She narrows her eyes slightly, but her face returns to her studying expression.
She stand up and brushes off her robes, offering a hand to help the Gryffindor up. It lingers there, a bit hesitant to see if she would actually take it.
sorry if its a bit short im doing it on my phone haha next time itll be more!

Sure, Kip didn't mean to be that mean earlier, but she sure wasn't going to surrender- or, what she thought, was losing the battle.
Kip stood up herself, ignoring the Ravenclaw's hand entirely, dusting herself off.
She huffed, keeping her guard up- looking around the halls to make sure a teacher wasn't coming. She slowly ran her fingers through her hair, fluffing it up as if that mattered-
Well, looking all composed did matter- well, to Kip it did.
So there they stood for seconds, an awkward silence falling over them, before-
"You had gotten hurt? Well, then, I guess your reason is okay, but not as great as mine," she puffed out her chest, before going back to normal.
She didn't exactly know what to say- being that, yes, everything was so.. Eh.. She hadn't exactly made the best first impression, to put it lightly.
Kip blinked, bringing her hand up to smooth over her two pointed, light yellow star clip- before dropping back down to her side easily.
"Well, I should be going, you can go back to reading your.. Books, or whatever," Kip announced, turning around and bolting- probably headed back to the Gryffindor's girl dorms, her hair thrashing violently behind her, whipping at her back, leaving Hasianna all on her own.
When Kip had finally gotten out of eyesight of the girl, she sighed, breathing heavily, as she slowed down. She was cringing at the interaction- what was that, the fourth person she had been rude to?
Not that it mattered, of course- barely anything mattered to Kip.. That's what she kept telling herself- nothing mattered, she simply didn't care.
...
Which, of course, that had been a lie- one of the many lies she continued to tell herself.
One of the many lies she slowly started to believe- acting like it was the only way to go.

Don't worry about it- I understand sometimes ideas can run sorta low XD
