What’s the story behind your name?

It was a matter of name meanings. My parents had a philosophy that someone should have a strong name to back a strong identity. Alexandria means “the defender of men”, derived from the name Alexander. Ramona means “protector”, or by some accounts, “advice.” Orane means “rising”. All of these names my parents deemed to be powerful, and would represent the person that I would ultimately become.

Can you speak another language?

I’d sure hope so. I was born in France, so I’m fluent in French. I’m slowly learning Canadian French, which is confusing to me as to why we would need a different type of French for another country, but… I’m learning.

What’s the best gift you’ve ever given?

For Reid’s most recent birthday, I helped gift him a broom with the help of you (Ami) and Scott.

What’s one thing people don’t know about you?

I don’t think people know, usually, about how I was raised. Not even Reid knows. I don’t talk a lot about my time in America. I won’t go into detail, I’d rather keep that a secret. But people don’t know about it, I suppose.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

I am (slowly) finding that I enjoy muggle sports. They’re usually similar to Quidditch and easy to understand. I’ve seen Reid with a- he calls it a football, I think? So maybe that will be my next learning experience.

What are three things you can’t live without?

Easy. My broom; any of them, I can make any broom work for me. That’s the first one. I hate to admit it, but Rosalie, my useless pygmy puff. Finally, my trench coat. I’m sure you’ve all seen me with it at some point. It’s a staple.

What’s your favorite hobby?

Quidditch? That seems weird to say because this is an interview for the Headliner and I’m the face of the Headliner, but picking up the quill and doing interviews doesn’t give me an adrenaline rush the same as blatching someone out there on the pitch does. But being a journalist is a close second, I’d say.

What’s your lucky number?

99. It’s on the back of my jersey. I have some philosophy; 100 is too much. 100 is seen as the be all, end all. 99 isn’t 100. I believe that 99 is something that’s going to turn things upside their head. You wear 99, you have 99 of something, then you’re the best. If you aim too hard at 100, it would be… I don’t know the word for it in English, but it’s like… Too much? So it will never be enough?

Do you believe in fate?

Yes and no. I believe that there’s fate, but I believe that you can change it.

How’s Douglas?

Douglas is fine, haha. I haven’t killed him yet, but mostly because Reid keeps him in the Hufflepuff common room. As far as I know, Reid hasn’t killed him yet either. He’s thriving with his own kind. Before we graduate, though, I’ll probably end up with him. Reid better be paying child support, though.

Who’s someone you admire?

Olphie Bercegeay! I love and respect that woman so much.

What’s a habit you picked up from someone else?

I’m not sure if I have any that I’ve picked up from someone else. I clench my fists when I’m mad, I might have picked that up from my brother, Texas, but that’s probably it.

Black or white?

Black.

What’s your favorite kind of weather?

Any weather that’s good for playing Quidditch in. I don’t mind if it snows, if it’s sunny, that’s fine. Hate playing in the rain, though.

How do you like to spend your free time?

I’m so busy throughout the day, it’s hard to imagine free time. When I do have it, though, I usually just prefer to hang out with my friends. But yeah, not a lot of freetime for an athlete and a reporter.

Indoors or outdoors?

Outdoors for sure.

What would your perfect vacation look like?

Hm… I hear good things about “Canada”. Maybe there. Apparently there’s dragons and royalty and a lot of fighting.

What household chore is the worst?

I never had to do chores, actually, so I wouldn’t know. I hear that people don’t like doing the dishes.

What wrong assumptions do people make about you?

People seem to think that I’m inherently mean. I’m only mean to people who deserve it.

What’s a Headliner article you wish you wrote?

Out of existing ones? Probably any of Meenauh’s. She’s way smarter than I am. I wish I had the brains to write that stuff.

What’s expensive, but totally worth it?

Brooms all the way.

How did you meet your best friend?

I don’t really know if I have a best friend. Reid is the closest, I think. Then there’s Simon. Reid and I actually met at a funeral, sort of, and then that summer we were in the same cabain. Simon and I met when the Ilvermorny students arrived at the gates, and I was looking to report on something. I signed his petition about igloos in Canada or something.

What type of article, that you’ve seen in previous editions, would you NEVER want to write? (ie. astrology, news, recipes, etc.)

These were actually ones I used to write, but I hated the zodiac segments more than I anticipated. I would never look back. Otherwise, recipes.

What did you do last summer?

I went to America to visit my family. Did a road trip. Experienced some things. I got my nose pierced, saw an Islanders game, met my cousin. Normal summer things.

Do you write a rough draft before writing a letter to someone?

Hell no, I’m too lazy for that. We die like men here.

Do you like flying?

I’d sure hope so. I’m a Quidditch player, aren’t I? Maybe I’m a bit of an enforcer or whatever, but doesn’t mean I don’t like flying. Ask any athlete if they like playing their sport, if they say “no”, then they’re in it for the money.

What’s the first thing you notice when meeting someone new?

Probably their hair. I don’t trust people with bad haircuts.

Who do you miss the most?

My oldest brother, Mikael. He’s in France now. Doesn’t live with the family anymore.

What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve done in your life?

During my years in New Orleans, and the few months I spent on Long Island, I was allowed to just sort of run the streets and do as I please. Those days were pretty adventurous. Nothing recently, though. I’m kind of boring, sorry. My life is all work and no play.

Does your family have any nicknames for you?

“Alexx” is a nickname in itself. But my brothers call me “Lexx”.

What’s the most French thing about you?

Maybe my accent? I think everything is French about me, to be fair. But I don’t know what otherwise qualifies someone as a “French” person.

How do you relax?

I used to like to take baths in the Prefects bathroom. I miss that bathroom. Jealous of the captains for having access.

What’s something everyone should try at least once?

Flying, if they can. Nothing more thrilling than it. Even if you don’t think you’d like it, I suggest it.

Reptiles or birds?

Birds? I see birds a lot, they’re alright. Lots of owls here. Reptiles seem… Odd.

Are you more of an introvert or an extrovert?

Bit of both. I have to be extroverted as a reporter, but I like to keep to myself a bit too. Depends on the day and how I’m feeling.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Something along the lines of not pleasing others. People pleasers don’t get anywhere, and that’s mostly true. You only hurt yourself trying to please others, which is why I don’t do it. I’ve lived life better and happier not worrying about other people and their opinions on me.

What’s your nighttime routine?

Uh… bathe, get dressed, sleep? Nothing too strange.

How would you define yourself in three words?

Better than Reid. No, just kidding. Hm… Maybe “better than most”. I think I’m a bit superior in many categories. Could name a few people who aren’t even adequate. “Insanely cocky asshole” might be appropriate too. “Not very humble.”

What’s been the most significant plot twist in your own life?

Making friends. I didn’t intend to make any of those, but here I am.

What do you love most about yourself?

I love my ambition. I never give up, and I have a huge drive in me that is unmatched by most. Maybe I’m a bit of a stereotypical Slytherin but I think it’s something to pride myself over.

What should Hogwarts’ slogan be?

“The school on fire”. I don’t know if that’s a slogan, but we have a lot of fires.

What pets have you had?

Just Rosalie for me, but my sister has an orange cat named Roger.

What’s the most essential part of a friendship?

Trust. I’d like to trust that everyone around me is willing to stick up for me. If you’re a wimp- I mean, no offence, but you lack loyalty. You’re afraid to be loyal. You’re afraid of commitment. That’s not someone I want around me. It’s important to surround yourself with people who care about you enough to stick up for you. I’d do it. Do it all the time for my team. Would do it for the Headliner in a heartbeat.

What are the top three social situations you try to avoid the most?

I don’t try to avoid any. I’m a reporter, if I avoided situations, I’d be a shit reporter. That’s not the goal here.

What do you do differently than most people?

I think that the way I interact with people is different than most. Too many people focus on being nice. I cut straight to the point. I’m blunt. That’s not mean, it’s real. Most people would be too afraid to be that way, because people don’t take well to raw individuals.

Who is the most bizarre person you’ve met?

Pfft, Ami Procoppio, no doubt. Insane lass.

What’s your favorite primary color?

A bit strange for a Slytherin, but red. Red is a power color, and I believe I make it look great.

Do you have a favorite issue of the Headliner?

A lot of our earlier issues. I have a least favorite issue, but I won’t share it because I don’t want my writers to feel poorly about themselves. But the second and third issues were my favorites I think. I love everything about them. I loved the team at that time. I loved the type of articles we were writing. Some issues to me have felt like a drag, it just felt like they lasted forever. But those issues were fun and easy to write.

Any advice to future Headliner team members?

Don’t ignore your deadlines. I will find you, and I will hurt you.

What’s your favorite part of being on the Headliner team?

Working with you guys, usually. Definitely some past employees who I can’t stand. But being with most of you is a pleasure in and of itself. Being the face of this is also great. I get the honor, every month, of producing the only paper in the school, which is unrivaled by the old papers by far. This is the most functional, most successful paper in recent Hogwarts years. I’m proud of this, and I’m thankful to be practically the only one who has ever lead you guys. Total respect to Delilah, but I pulled the first official issue together in her absence and have been here ever since. I dare say it would be hard to replace me. Big shoes to fill.

What’s a cause that is important to you?

Hockey is for Everyone!! This is so nerdy, but anyone who knows me knows how much I love hockey. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and as a POC, it’s so very important to me that these issues are brought up in sports. I know I could pick better causes and movements but this has been something I’ve spent months advocating for and arguing with people online over. I’m very passionate about it.

How do you cope with school work, Headliner work, and still have a life?

Bold of you to assume that I have a life, Ami. Seriously though, I don’t. It’s a struggle, and I have to sacrifice things. I knew, early into my 9th grade year, that HiO was important to me, and if I was going to be putting myself out here in the way that I am, I’d have to juggle priorities. I get things done in class, go home, speed through things. It’s a lot of time juggling. It’s a commitment, and I tell that to younger people who ask me about this. I won’t lie, it’s hard. But everyone here is so understanding that my education comes first, so that makes it easier.

What’s the last really good book you’ve read?

I don’t read a lot of books, actually. I know, that’s kind of weird. I don’t have the patience to read books. I ordered a couple, I’m really excited to read “99: Stories of the Game”, which is one of Gretzky’s autobiographies. The last book I really read was The Martian. But no, uh, I read more fanfiction than I do novels. Props to fic writers, a lot of times, the fics I read are better and more intriguing than a lot of the novels I’ve read. One I’m reading right now, just waiting for the final chapter, is called “Wear Your Silver Lining”. I won’t name the fandoms for the sake of the authors. “I Wish to be Your Cornerstone” is another one I’m working through. Last one, “Draw My Sword With the Morning Sun” was my recent favorite.

What’s an underrated album we should listen to?

I don’t see a lot of hype for Trench by Twenty One Pilots? Outside of the TOP fanbase, of course. I suggest checking it out.

What would be your dream job?

It used to be astrophysicist, maybe astronaut. But it changed recently. I want to go into hockey history. I think that’s like, the only thing I’ll ever be useful for. I’d really love to be able to do that. It’s what I plan to go into but I’m also aware that it’s very niche and I won’t make a lot of money off of it.

What’s your most-used app on your phone?

It switches between Instagram and Discord. Tumblr is a close third.

What are your top 3 favorite things to talk about?

Well, 1) Hockey. Like, hockey as a whole. I could break that down into subcategories, too. Stats. Goalies. Teams. History. But I don’t want to cheat my way out of this question but just saying “I really like to talk about the Nashville Predators and uhhhh stats”. So for number 2 I’ll say conspiracy theories. Number 3, probably, like… I don’t know. Politics.

What small things brighten up your day?

I like when people I like post on Instagram. Stories, posts. Anything. I just like to know what they’re up to. Especially now in quarantine. Knowing they’re well and doing normal things as best as they can is nice.

What’s the best way to get to know who someone really is?

Well, for me, it’s always “what’s your team?” because if someone says the Maple Leafs, sorry, gonna assume you’re a simpleton. If someone says Chicago… Well, that sums it up for me. No but seriously, I guess just like, 20 questions or something.

Favorite TV Show?

I don’t watch a lot of TV, surprisingly. I like documentary series I guess. But yeah, not a big TV show person.

One talent you wish you had?

I wish I could sing. I’m a decent musician by far but I can’t sing to save my life.

Favorite thing in the whole world?

I’ve mentioned it so many times so far in this interview. Hockey. It’s like- you’ve set this up knowing what I’m going to say. Love the game.

Best invention?

The guillotine, and I stand by that. Not a lot of people know this about me, but I am an avid supporter of the guillotine. I can talk about it probably just as much, if not more, as hockey. Great invention. Genius in every aspect.

Who’s your style icon?

Auston Matthews, probably. He’s really got his own personality in his style and I like that. Very strange. Even though I don’t dress like him, I wish I could pull it off. I know his mustache is… It’s not great, but like, it’s iconic if anything.

Who are three women that are blowing your mind right now?

Hilary Knight and Kendall Coyne are ALWAYS blowing my mind. RBG is right behind them. Love those women.

What’s your favorite board game?

I really like Life. I’ve only played it a few times but it’s really fun.

Proudest moment?

I think making it into my “super fancy performing arts school”.

What song would you walk a runway to?

Brass Bonanza. If you don’t know it, look it up.

Worst subject in school?

As much as I love it, I seem inclined against math. Like, I’m good at it, I’m just lazy.

What’s something you’re interested in that most people wouldn’t expect?

Well, now you all expect hockey, but I was told that I don’t seem to be the type of person who would be interested in it. But otherwise, probably guillotines. That’s a weird interest to have. It doesn’t sit right with most. It’s definitely a curve ball by far.

What took you way too long to figure out?

Eyeliner. It’s so easy now that I can do it.

Who are your kind of people?

Uh… sports fans? I have no idea. I talk to anyone mostly. I guess as long as they’re nice to me. Respectful people.

Derived from phaidros, Phaedra means “bright.”

Fifth-year OWLs. I’ve just started preparing.

Babysat their temperamental cat. I put up with the scratches.

To stop biting at my nails.

My accent sounds strictly Northern, so people are surprised when they hear me speak in fluent Greek.

“Trials and Tribulations” sounds about right.

What’s your favorite hairstyle?

Down and over my ears and shoulders like a curtain. It frames my face well.

Ghosts. Zombies make for terrible conversation.

What’s your pet’s name? Where did it come from?

My baby is named Cleopatra. It’s not particularly quirky, but I was very interested in Ancient Egypt when I was younger and she’s the most regal cat I’ve ever seen.

Do you wash your hands in cold water or hot water?

People wash their hands with cold water?

Would you rather live full time in an RV or full time on a sailboat?

A sailboat! I love the sea. An “RV” would be too drastic a change for me, I believe, and cramped.

What’s the worst advice someone has given you?

“Just come clean. They won’t be angry.”

Where was your favorite place to go when you were a kid?

The woods around my home. My sister and cousins would play there all the time.

What small, seemingly insignificant decision had a massive impact on your life?

Deciding to run for prefect has had a big influence on the person I am.

Where would your friends or family be most surprised to find you?

Probably… nowhere. They have very high expectations for me.

What are you always game for?

A peaceful hike.

Politics, but something tells me most readers wouldn’t care for it.

Who do you have a hard time taking seriously?

Most people who believe in Divination. I mean, Seers are legitimate but tea-leaf readings? You can insert your own meaning into anything if you try hard enough.

How often do you people-watch? (you know, like bird-watching, but for people)

All the time. People usually take it as me staring them down, which isn’t wrong, but I genuinely like to read others like an open book.

What age do you want to live to?

I don’t know. A specific age seems arbitrary. For me it’s not the quantity, but the quality of my life. Old enough to have children, if I have to choose. I would like to have my own family.

What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home?

I went to Australia once.

What do you consider to be your best find?

It’s worth nothing at all but I’ve collected a few muggle coins.

Would you rather go hang gliding or whitewater rafting?

I don’t like heights, though I imagine the view would be beautiful. Rafting, it is.

Who has impressed you most with what they’ve accomplished?

Hard to pinpoint a single person. We’re surrounded by brilliant wizards and witches every day. But if I have to answer, probably my mother.

Were you a member of the individual house papers before they combined?

I was. Back then, the Ravenclaw house paper was called “The Diadem.”

Anything caramel makes me melt.

If you had to choose one thing to eradicate from the earth, what would it be?

Cockroaches. Eradicate them harder if they fly.

I can play the bouzouki and kick your arse at Wizard’s chess. Simultaneously.

I’ve been called the mother of the group.

Cinnamon, or the pages of a new book. I can’t decide.

Living your life how you want it and not caring in the slightest about what anyone thinks of it.

I don’t usually cook, but I like to eat the cooking of others.

Are you a clean or messy person?

If my room isn’t clean and orderly I get anxious. I don’t understand people who can live around a mess. How do they manage to function?

If you had to describe yourself in five words, what would they be?

Intelligent. Leader. Intimidating (well, others say so). Mature. Witty.

What’s your favorite elective class you’re taking?

Funnily enough, Muggle Studies. I learn new things there daily. It’s exciting.

What would you usually be doing on a Friday night?

Finishing up my homework and heading to bed so that I don’t have to waste my weekends playing catch-up.

What was the most thoughtful gift you ever received?

A charm bracelet, and the charms can transfigure into the crest of any new location I arrive at. He said he could see me going places.

You’re hosting a dinner party and can invite one musician, one politician, a famous couple, and only one of your family members. Who are you inviting?

My mother is an expert at social gatherings so I would bring her to help. It would be interesting to meet the Minister and we’ve never invited muggles before, so Harry and Meghan, and for music, Celestina Warbeck.

Would you rather eat a gallon of mayonnaise or four sticks of butter?

Ew. Four sticks of butter would still be less than a gallon of mayonnaise, so butter it is.

Do loud noises bother you?

Depends on the noise. Thunderstorms? My cat purring? That’s totally fine. Yelling and loud footsteps? Not so much.

Who makes you laugh more than anyone?

My father tells the worst jokes to annoy my mother. It’s pretty funny.

What’s your favorite part of being on the Headliner team?

Seeing the final project come together is always fun, and getting to feel the warm, printed pages.

If you had to marry a person on the Headliner team, who would it be?

I don’t know. Pericles? He’s smart, which is an absolute requirement for what I want in a husband. I prefer older boys though...

What’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve done because you were bored?

Cut my hair just because I wanted to see what it would look like.

How do you calm yourself when you get angry?

I turn on some music or rant to my best friend about it.

What’s one song you never get tired of?

The Phantom Of the Opera Overture.

Is the pen truly mightier than the sword?

I guess both have their moments where they’d work best, although the sword should only be used when absolutely necessary.

Do you believe in luck?

I do, actually, because of the sole fact that some are born into riches and others into near inescapable poverty.

If you had to compare yourself to one fictional character, who would it be?

Uncle Iroh is one of my favorite animated characters ever. I like to think I’m as calm as he is, and we both love tea.

What’s your go-to funny story?

Most of my funny stories are inside jokes with friends, so I think the joke would be lost trying to explain it...

Do you believe in love at first sight?

Sure.

Do you believe in aliens?

I don’t believe in the Hollywood/Area 51 type of aliens, but I do think other life could be out there in the vast universe. If life happened on Earth from the right conditions and billions of years of evolution, why not elsewhere?

What’s your favorite pick-up line?

“Girl, you thicker than a boat of oatmeal.”

What’s your Hogwarts house?

I still don’t know and to this day it frustrates me not knowing. I’ve taken dozens of sorting quizzes (the official one most of the time) and I’ve gotten every single house. When people ask though, I say Ravenpuff because those qualities are what I most often see in myself. But from the current state of the world and my country especially, it seems in my anger I’m turning more into a Gryffindor with every passing day.

What do you do differently than most people?

Socialize, probably. Awkward is my middle name.

If you had the power to change one law, what law would you change?

Doubt it could be changed in a single law, but I would make healthcare an easily affordable right.

What’s your favorite movie?

Titanic… I had the VHS when I was little (probably everyone did) and remember watching it constantly. I know it’s considered very chick-flicky and popular, but popular doesn’t automatically mean bad and I mostly watch it for the ship itself anyway.

If you were to make a podcast, what would it be about?

Maybe a book or movie podcast.

What wrong assumptions do people make about you?

“When I first met you, I thought you hated me.” I’m just shy and introverted, man.

What are some accomplishments that you’re really proud of?

Comparing my old art to my current art and seeing the improvement is a great motivator to continue at it.

What’s inspiring you in life right now?

My friends and supportive family. Don’t know where I’d be without them.

Lipstick or lip gloss?

Lip gloss. I like the bold, red lipstick look, but on other people, not myself. Also, I have the bad habit of licking my lips to even consider wearing lipstick.

Michael Jackson, Judy Garland, and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

If I’m out of ideas, baked chicken and rice is usually what I go to.

I’ll spend the first three days going around in Portugal, visiting my dad’s family and exploring the culture of my heritage. Then the next two days in Paris, just to see what that’s like, and then the last two days in New Orleans, just ‘cause the Princess and the Frog lives there! I wanna try beignets, of course.

I heard you like flowers; what’s your favorite flower?

I really love these flowers called the Bougainvillea. Something about the leaves being colorful and looking like flowers themselves is kinda pretty… like it makes you love all of its parts, y’know?

What amazing adventures have you been on so far, at Hogwarts?

The most fun adventure is definitely the pool thing back in April. Met a lot of friends that I can say I would be close to in the long run.

I would say Pericles. He has a kind soul, and I can turn to him whenever I need comfort.

You’d prolly never see me in some posh place like in the middle of some fancy gala or in some uppity dining place. I’ve never been, and I’d never belong there anyways.

What even has changed the course of your life the most?

For now? Maybe the Blossom Ball. I never knew literal life and death situations until I experienced it there.

What are you absolutely determined to do?

When I first got into Hogwarts, I was planning on being the best in Potions, but I’m starting to really like Charms too… either way, I wanna be the best First Year!

Prolly whenever Winter melts into Spring. It’s an almost magical change, like… how does nature do that?!

What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home?

Hogwarts, definitely. Though I wanna push that farther into Portugal and meet my Papa’s family!

Who has impressed you most with what they’ve accomplished?

If we’re talking about teachers, prolly Professor Price. I know he’s not here anymore, but the way he conducts the lessons with a lotta formality is amazing.

Where would you spend all your time if you could?

The Hogwarts Library! I’ve never read wizard books before, so if I had the choice I could sleep there if I could.

What is something that most people consider to be a luxury, but you don’t think you could live without?

My hair clips, for sure! My hair is all over the place, so having a clip on my forehead just keeps it in place just enough for me to see.

What do you have doubts about?

I dunno if I can be as good as my mother. She even had less help compared to me, so… the pressure there.

What would be the scariest monster you could imagine?

A turkducken, but featherless! With three heads, each belonging to each of its counterparts.

Oh, definitely the smell of Papa’s bookshop. More specifically, the old book smell.

My Papa thought it would be nice to give me something to remind me of home, so before I left for school my parents gave me this wind chime that was made of all of the bookmarks I used!

Hmm… probably river air I guess? Just ‘cause my parents used to take me for walks on the park, and that park had a river flowing by it.

It’s embarrassing to admit, but I can never get measurements right. My mom usually eyeballed them, so I got used to doing that.

What TV shows did you watch when you were a kid?

Oh dang too many to count lmao I will say though the main shows that inspired me were Kim Possible, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Pokemon. If we’re talking about live action, Are You Afraid of the Dark, That’s so Raven, and Art Attack.

What do you miss about life 10 or 20 years ago?

Let’s go with 10 years ago, I definitely missed having the innocence of a youngin’, when I thought ATMs were just money machines and I thought things were simpler.

LET. YOUR HANDS. REST. Buy a wrist brace but that’s only slowing down the process of possible breakage if you dON’T REST. Slap on some Vicks VapoRub and do hand exercises whenever possible.

My grandmother told me a quote from the Rigveda: "Ego is the biggest enemy of humans." It’s important to be confident in yourself, but that’s completely different from having a big ego.

What makes you get up in the morning?

I follow a structured regime. I almost always wake up just before the sun. (Er, sorry- did you mean metaphorically?)

Any type of puzzle: anagrams, mazes, riddles, jigsaw….

I met, and pet, a very handsome cat in a corridor.

That’s a tricky one. I know a number of really wonderful Gryffindors, who I would be happy to join, but the Hat had me convinced my most likely alternative would be Slytherin.

A nice soft brown, if I had to choose, though I like my hair as it is.

If there was one person on the team who you have to spend the rest of your life rooming with, who would it be, and why?

That’s a difficult question. I don’t think I know any of the others well enough to live with them, but if I had to choose, my friend Ruby Cazares- one of our editors- would make a nice roommate. She seems tidy and polite, we have similar demeanors.

Being called a “good friend”. I’ve never had any before coming to Hogwarts; I’m still learning how to be a friend to others.

I couldn’t say, really. When I get restless from sitting inside too long, I like to go exploring outdoors. Once I’m tired, I like to rest and read inside. I try to balance my time indoors and out.

Where does one go on a perfect road trip?

THE BEACH. I love driving to Fort Bragg here in California. There’s a gorgeous cruise through redwoods, you get to this cozy seaside town with fun shops and cafes, then walk down to Glass Beach to climb rocks and splash around.

Do you fold your pizza slices when you eat them, or do you keep them flat?

The only time I’ve folded pizza is when the slices are really wide and full of toppings.

What’s the most impressive thing you know how to do?

I make great spaghetti. I got an expert marksmanship badge in the Army. I do a really good Mister Bean impersonation. I write okay.

An old necklace. I went to Disneyland when I was maybe twelve or so, and I bought five necklaces: one for myself and the others for my four best friends back home. We’re all still close as adults, and they all still have their necklaces, though the cheap silver coloring has mostly faded to copper.

What risks are worth taking?

Most of them. I dream about things like cage-diving with sharks and parachuting, because I know so long as I play by the rules and go about things carefully, I’ll (probably) be able to live with that experience for the rest of my life.

The lockdown. I’m super social and do NOT do well in captivity, I’m just tolerating it because I’d rather be restless than endanger my daughter.

Love’s a two-way street. I know that the few people I love do love me back.

Being the wild card. I was rambunctious growing up, the hyper outgoing one that lured together five weirdos and made best friends of us all. I always took risks, stood up to bullies, and got into fights. I was the only one in the group to go military. I lived fast and wreckless. If it wasn’t for my daughter, who settled me wayyy down, I don’t know if I’d even be around today.

Why did you apply for the Headliner?

The creative freedom, the mystery of finding good stories to write, and the excitement of researching new and unknown things. Also it just seems really fun, why should I need a bigger reason than that?

What’s a habit you wish you could break?

Speaking my innermost thoughts out loud for practically everyone to hear.

When are you happiest?

When I’m spending time with Mo Gràdh (My Love.) or my baby sisters. I feel no greater joy or calmness when they are with me. Surrounded by my precious friends I am met with similar happiness but it never quite reaches the level compared to Irene, Mo Gràdh (My Love), or my baby sisters.

What’s something you could teach me about?

Oh there is so much I have to teach you my young padawan but if I am limited to one thing, then of course I have to teach you all about the history of Dublin itself.

What’s your favorite song, and why?

“Cradles” by Sub Urban is hands down my favorite. The reason is obvious, it’s a reflection of me and how I had to grow up. But that’s all you get out of me hah!

What’s something you wish you knew before you came to Hogwarts?

Every damn entryway being so damn short. I swear if I bash my head into one more doorway. Hogwarts will start seeing a lot more high arches!!

Is a “wrong” act okay if nobody ever knows about it?

Well yeah just because no one finds out about it doesn’t mean the act is wrong. That’s dumb question because when determining if something is wrong “intent” gets involved. Like I could steal cookies from the cookie jar again and know one could find out.It’s still wrong because mom forbade from it and I stole them behind her back. Totally worth it though.

Are you good with directions?

I’m great with directions! I just choose not to be. It’s way more fun to get lost. You end up discovering something brand new or getting into some crazy danger, it’s great!!

Do you like to cook?

Sometimes, I mean I’m terrible at it but I do enjoy it on occasion.

Like that’s even a question. Ami obviously, she gets me, she gets my humor, and she’s the only one even more extra than I am. I mean if I had to choose then it would have to be her. Lass knows how to throw a mean prank, and has fashion sense as good as mine!

Morning, hands down, it’s so peaceful and people rarely bother me. I can just enjoy my thoughts, Irene’s company, and my tea. God I love tea.

Papa Badger of course. He can sing, dance, and tell a joke like no one else!

Their eyes more than anything. You can tell a lot about a person by looking into their eyes. There is so much that they tell you that the face may not show. Usually when I see someone the first thing that draws my attention is their eyes though they are usually looking up at me and don’t seem too friendly...their loss.

If you were an Olympic athlete, what would your event be?

Hammer throw, I absolutely love that event. It takes so much strength, skill, and technique. But the professionals make it look so easy, if I was an olympic athlete that’s what I would do and I would aim to break every record in that event.

Birthday Cake of course, though if they have donut flavored ice cream that would be my new favorite.

What do you like to do in your free time?

There’s a lot honestly. My favorite things however, would have to be reading what comics I get sent from home, Observing is still an extremely fun activity for me, playing with Irene, and recently I’ve discovered exercising is really fun!

What’s the first thing you think about when you wake up?

Usually food. I wake up starving most mornings. More recently when I wake up for the first minute or so, hard to remember, I think about absolutely nothing. Nothing passes, it's not exactly a blank, it's very calming. No cluttering thoughts, anxiety, or the like. Just one minute of total and absolute bliss free from everything.

How many slices of pizza could Ami (hypothetically) throw at you before you lose your patience?

Probably 16 slices, mostly because that’s as many slices as I could eat.

What makes you smile, without fail?

Seeing Mo Gràdh (My Love) and my baby sisters. They’re the light that keep me on track.

Who’s someone you admire?

Will Smith, I only found him recently and got to watch some of his movies. But what stuck with me was his attitude and how he never let anything stop his dreams. He just finds a way to achieve his goals and does it. That’s who I strive to be and that’s why I admire him.

What are some of your favorite things to talk about?

Comic books duh! It’s so interesting to explore the depths, worlds, philosophies, and metaphysical concepts of those universes. I also love talking about fantasy, science fiction, and history. My favorite subjects are history and mythology!

What are people often surprised to learn about you?

That I’m not just a dumb, lumbering, half-breed. I’m actually smart, kind, and caring.

What hurts your feelings?

Being treated like a monster, like I don’t exist, like I’m a mistake. Let’s move on please.

What do you like most about your friends?

Their unique weirdness and resolve to find and be true to themselves. It’s deeply moving for me.

Opening myself up fully to someone and not being hurt. It is the most terrifying thing I’ve ever done and I’m still not sure if I made the right choice.

What is your idea of the perfect day?

Being with my baby sisters, Irene, and Mo Gràdh (My Love). Not being bothered by anyone else and just having a drama free, fun, relaxing day in Dublin.

Who is most influential in your life?

While I don’t talk to him much, I absolutely observe him all the time. That probably sounds creepy. Professor Caradoc Browne has had the deepest impact on me so far and he treats me without judgement and punishes me when I act out. In many ways he’s like another father to me and someone I aspire to be like.

Would you rather be invisible or have X-ray vision?

X-Ray vision I could make so much money doing those cup shuffling games or seeing weak points in structures and the like. Really fascinating stuff so much to explore, and so many possibilities.

Dusting I have to get low and bloody it hurts my back so much! Getting into high places is no worries, but getting into low, small, hard to reach places is nearly impossible!

How would you describe happiness?

To me happiness is a personal feeling of joy. It’s that feeling of fulfillment and contentment whenever you are doing something that brings you joy. In short, I would describe happiness as “the simple enjoyment one receives from doing the tasks they enjoy or being around those they love/enjoy”.

If you were president, what’s the first bill you’d try to pass?

A 1-2% tax on the wealthy “1%” that would then be redistributed down to areas like education, healthcare, agriculture, and other underfunded areas.

Communication hands down. If you can’t properly communicate then things can be misconstrued, misunderstood, or taken the wrong way. Communication even more so than trust can make or break a friendship in my eyes.

If we’re talking music than absolutely have to mention SonReal, and for artist well I have always loved James Raiz (The Box Office Artist).

Who are your kind of people?

The type of person who is willing to accept another for who they are, who is into my similar interests but also their own. In short, weird people are my people and to get preachy “all people are my people!”

How have you changed from when you were in high school?

I’ve definitely grown a bit wiser and have tried to be more confident in myself which I think slowly but surely is becoming much more noticeable. I still have a lot to work on but the biggest thing is confidence and independence.

What’s expensive, but totally worth it?

A good pair of truly wireless bluetooth earbuds. The good kind are pricey but worth it when you want great sound on the go. Another thing that’s expensive but worth it in my eyes at least is a custom built, water-cooled desktop PC.

If I’m being honest the whole fanfare surrounding Donald Trump like the latest one with his calls involving Putin. Don’t get me wrong they’re important but there are much more pressing and urgent stories often smaller ones that deserve my attention. Politics aside I just don’t want to give him anymore attention when so much else is going on. I don’t want to get tunnel vision.

How did you meet your best friend?

Straight up preschool. According to my mom we met there and have been tight ever since. That guy I have known for 20 years so most of my life.

What’s the worst movie you’ve ever seen?

Probably “The Room”. If we’re talking objectively worse than “Battlefield Earth”, “Epic Movie”, and “Meet The Spartans”. However for me personally I consider the worst movie I have ever seen to be “The Last Airbender (2010)”. It took a series I love and butchered it to heck.

What’s the best advice someone has given you?

Honestly the best advice I’ve ever been given is something along the lines of, “Don’t worry about what others are doing, worry about yourself, your own happiness, and your own life. Things will open up for you if you just get out of your own way.” Really insightful and is something I keep close to me.

When you were a kid, what seemed like the best thing about being a grown-up?

That’s so easy! Staying up as late as you want without being told what to do or when to go to bed. My parents are amazing but they enforced strict curfew when I was a child.

I like all the seasons. They all have something different to offer. I like the early dark evening of winter, the heat of summer, the leaves falling in Autumn and the colors of spring.

I haven’t thought to ask what the story behind my name is. Who knows, perhaps my parents just liked rivers a lot, we did live up in the mountains where there were a bunch of pretty rivers and waters.

Sweet for sure. I’d say I have a pretty strong sweet tooth.

I aspire to be independent and headstrong in what I do. For the time being I don’t know what I want to do, but I want to become great at it.

I don’t know any phrases that I use a lot. I do however have words that I put in way to much when I speak. Such as “like”, and “you know”. I mean who doesn’t say that a little too much though.

I prefer rustic architecture for sure. It’s way more “homey” in my opinion, the kind of structure I’m most used to being around.

Are you more of an indoors or outdoors person?

I enjoy the outdoors a lot, but I prefer it when the sky is a bit grey, the sun is a bit of a pain. I get sunburnt real fast.

My lucky number is 4. It’s just always been a number that’s constantly popped up in connection to positive situations through my life.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

Morning person in the sense that I really enjoy the morning hours, but if I have the chance I can sleep in for hours after staying up almost all night.

What are your thoughts on unstable dhampirs who are unable to control their bloodlust roaming about among normal students in the school?

Well… I mean. I guess it’s the professors and HoH’s responsibility to keep students safe. There should be a way for them to attend school and learn without causing any danger to the rest of the students. I guess changes are being made now to keep everyone as safe as possible.

What are you always game for?

A game of Quidditch. It doesn’t matter if it’s an official game or not, it’s just so liberating to get in the air out on the pitch and have a fun game with the team.

What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream?

Either mint or coffee, can’t manage to choose between the two.

Where would your friends or family be most surprised to find you?

They would be most surprised to find me on an airplane. Brooms are great, but airplanes are a no-no. I’m actually quite terrified of flying, except on brooms. Though I found brooms equally as scary at first.

How much social interaction is too much?

It gets to a point where my head just starts hurting. Depends quite a bit on how my day has been though. Some days any social interaction can be too much, on other days the limit doesn’t really seem to be there.

What’s your favorite hobby?

I’ll have to say my favourite hobby is Quidditch. I love writing too, especially for the Headliner, but there is nothing more exciting than playing a game of quidditch. Also there is something about being with the team that puts Quidditch above any other hobbies, though the Headliner team is also a big reason why I love writing as well.

Who do you have a hard time taking seriously?

Anyone who ignorantly speaks of a topic they think they know so much about, but in reality they just sound stupid, hypocritical and uneducated. Like, if you have such strong opinions of something, at least try to show some interest in how the topic at hand actually is.

Are you usually early or late?

I would like to say I’m usually early, but looking back to some of my earlier classes, I’d say I’m probably more the latter. I got lost easily back then, now though I try my best to be on time, even if it doesn’t always turn out.

What mystery do you wish you knew the answer to?

I wish I knew if there really was a city of Atlantis. I mean most likely it’s just a legend, but can you imagine how cool it would be if someone actually managed to find it one day?

What are some things you’ve had to unlearn?

I’ve had to unlearn my habit of being distrustful of the people I meet. Still working on it though, but some people keep on proving that distrust is’t necessary for every new person I meet. Another thing I’ve had to unlearn is a strange way of holding my quill or pen. Got some really painful wrist-issues because of it.

What are you most likely to become famous for?

I would say I’m most likely to become famous for my amazing talents in Quidditch… No, I’m kidding. I’d probably become famous for my baking skills. I make some pretty good cinnamon rolls.

Where would you spend all your time if you could?

If I could, I’d probably spend all my time, and I know how Ravenclaw this sounds, in one of those super large libraries. You know, the ones that have like, multiple floors and a cafeteria on one of them. Imagine living there though.

Do you want kids?

I honestly don’t know. For now, I can’t ever imagine myself having kids, but who knows if that’ll change in the future.

What are you looking forward to over the summer?

I’m looking forward to no homework obviously. Just time to enjoy no school and charge back up for the next year of classes. I’m also really looking forward to seeing the quidditch match of course. It’s going to be great.

What’s the most difficult thing you’ve ever done?

I would say going to Hogwarts all alone, especially without my brother, who I’ve been around all the time since we were born. It was a difficult change to adjust to in the beginning, I still miss him of course, but it’s all good now.

What is the most annoying question that people ask you regularly?

When I walk around with Little-Hoot, my owl, people will often come up and ask if they can pet him. I know he’s adorable, but he’s not the biggest fan of cuddles.

What do you take for granted?

I guess I tend to take time for granted. Time flies, and I still feel like I waste so much of my time on things that I wouldn’t need to. So much time has already passed since I first got to Hogwarts, and I feel there is so much I could have done through those years but I just didn’t.

What irrational fear do you have?

I mean, I don’t know if it’s that irrational, as you could technically die, but as I mentioned earlier, planes are scary. People tell me it’s irrational, but I don’t see it what if something was to happen while in the air?

What is something you will never do again?

I will never eat sweet potatoes ever again. It was not an experience I enjoyed, and I don’t ever want to experience it again thank you very much.

Flying or invisibility?

If I choose invisibility, will I still be able to fly a broom? If so, I’ll pick invisibility. If not, I'd go for flying probably, sounds way more fun, to be honest.

What’s one responsibility you wish you didn’t have?

I wish I didn't have the responsibility of being a way that makes others like me. I mean it’s a responsibility you don’t need, but it’s hard to attempt to let it go after focusing on it for so long. I want to let go of some of the responsibility of having others like me just so I can be myself without thinking all that much about what others think of me.

What’s something horrible that everyone should try at least once?

Washing a toilet. It can be scary at first but having that skill can become very helpful later in life. Not every situation like that should be resolved with magic, trying the good ol’ muggle way can be good too. Scary, but necessary.

What do you want to be remembered for?

I want to be remembered for the person who managed to stand up for those around them. I want to be remembered for not being afraid to speak up and standing for what I believe without the fear of what others think.

What lie do you tell most often?

I guess it’s a lie I tell myself mostly. That I’m not stressed out with what to do after I graduate from Hogwarts. I constantly tell myself that I have lots of time to think about it, but I’m still kind of stressed out though, and time flies.

If you could ask for a miracle, what would it be?

I don’t really believe in miracles. Though, if I was to ask for one anyway, I guess it would be something like making human rights become respected by everyone, especially the higher leaders of the world and different countries. And of course, world peace, that’s some classic answer to this question I guess.

What’s your bedtime ritual?

Nothing fancy. I put on PJs, brush my teeth, make sure Hoot has his food, and hop into bed. Most likely I’ll lay there awake for at least an hour or more just thinking about stuff before I finally drift off to sleep.

Are you a clean or messy person?

I’m a very clean person. Perhaps to the extent that it gets a bit too much as well. There has to be a system for everything, and cleanliness is a big thing for me.

What’s the most annoying habit someone can have?

Chewing with their mouth open. Not only is it loud and annoying to sit next to, but it’s also just disrespectful to the other by the table. Did they never learn to close their mouth while eating?

What’s something that really annoys you, but doesn’t bother most people?

I think it’s hard to get me annoyed. Or at least to make me act on my feelings of annoyance. Something that does get me annoyed though is a poorly squeezed tube of toothpaste.

What’s your idea of a perfect day?

No plans whatsoever. Just an entire day to do whatever I want to in the moment.

What do you honestly think about being in Ravenclaw?

I think it’s great. I did think I’d be put in Slytherin at first though, but the sorting hat surprises I guess. I feel like a lot of people assume that we’re snobby or something, and sure, some might be. Though all in all, the people in Ravenclaw are pretty great people and now I can’t imagine being in any other house.

Who’s someone you admire?

I guess most of our Professors honestly. They all have attributes that I really look up to, even though some of them scare me a tiny bit.

If you could only store one type of food in your pocket, what would you carry?

I’d love to carry blackberries around, though I think that could get quite messy if it’s stored in my pockets.

Did you have an imaginary friend as a kid?

No, I did not. I don’t think I have enough imagination for that.

What do you think are the best traits for a person to have?

Trustworthiness and the ability to respect those with different beliefs and views than themselves.

What gives you butterflies?

Summer. Thinking that we’ll have all this time without needing to worry about classes and homework is quite amazing.

What excites you most about your future?

That there are so many unexplored possibilities in the future. It’s so unknown and mysterious I guess. Who knows how anyone's futures really will look. It’s both scary and exciting.

I feel the most out of place whenever my friends are all talking about boys and stuff. Being the only gay person in the friend-group can be quite the experience and I usually can’t really relate with my friends at all in those conversations.

What are you better at than 90% of people? It doesn’t have to be useful or serious.

I’d say I’m better at mixing up socks than most people. I’ll put a green sock with a yellow sock unintentionally, and everyone gets annoyed. I don’t understand why though, they’re just socks. People always wear such boring socks around here.

Who’s your style icon?

Uhm… I dunno, I don’t think I’ve thought out a specific style icon. If I have to pick a person, probably my grandfather. That man’s got style.

When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with?

They are usually in need of some advice on really personal matters. I guess you could say I’m the “therapist” or “mom” friend. And I’m happy they feel like they can come to me to talk about stuff, but I’m honestly not that great at giving advice, so I mostly just listen to them.

What’s the worst advice someone has given you?

When I was young, I was scared to jump off the diving board. My mom told me to just close my eyes and step forward… well, I fell forward and face-planted / belly-flopped into the water. It wasn’t fun and I never did it again.

What small things brighten up your day when they happen?

When I’m on my way to school in the morning and I pass by any animals on the way. Like deer or something. They also have goats on a farm that are so adorable and it just makes my morning more enjoyable.

What took you way too long to figure out?

For the longest time I didn't have a clue that there were different sexualities. I just thought people loved who they loved and that there weren’t any labels. You know, the way it should be.

What’s something you’ve been meaning to try but just haven’t gotten around to it?

Finish the many tv-shows I never got through. Also I really want to go see some Norwegian tourist sights. Many of them are pretty spectacular.

What is something you’ve read or heard that’s stuck with you for a long time?

Something I think I heard from Winnie-the-Pooh, “How do you spell love?” - Piglet. “You don’t spell love, you feel it” - Winnie. I don’t know exactly why that stuck with me, but you can’t deny it’s super cute.

How often do you play sports?

I don’t play any sports, so like, a few times a year probably. But I dance though, which I do three times a week.

What’s your favorite genre of book or movie?

I like spooky and exciting stuff, sign me up for horror or adventure any day!

What do you regret not doing when you were younger?

I regret not continuing to take violin lessons. I really wish I knew how to play it now. I also regret that I never made myself step out of my shell at a younger age. I spent way too many years being shy and scared to be myself.

What have you only recently formed an opinion about?

I have only recently formed an opinion about politics I guess. It’s a confusing and wide topic, but it’s also important. I’m not going into detail about that here though.

What stereotype do you completely live up to?

I’d say I completely live up to the nerd/geek stereotype, at least to a certain extent. There might be some factors I don’t meet, but it’s the closest I get to a specific stereotype I guess.

What’s your Hogwarts house?

My Hogwarts house is Slytherin.

Plane or train, and why?

Imma choose planes. They’re quick and exciting. Also, airport vibes are quite immaculate in my opinion.

What makes you sentimental?

Self-sacrifice makes me sentimental. I guess loss is also hard, but it’s difficult to get me emotional. Show me a movie or something about someone sacrificing themselves for someone out of pure heart or love and I’ll be real sentimental in no time.

How do you manage stress?

Not well. Period.

What is happiness?

Happiness is hard to define I guess. It’s so different for everyone what makes them happy. For me though, I’d say happiness is when you manage to take notice of all the small things that you see everyday. The small things that make you feel happy, and the small things that make others around you feel happy. In the end you’ll find there are quite a lot of great things to feel happy about every day.

What’s your worst subject in school?

My worst subject in school has always been geography. Most likely because of the teacher I had though, not the actual subject itself.

If you made a documentary, what would it be about?

I’d make a documentary about how dangerous it is to make your way anywhere in summer. The documentary will be focusing on seagulls and how they’re out to kill anyone who crosses their path. Especially in the area where I live, they’re insane.

What’s the difference between knowledge and wisdom?

The difference between knowledge and wisdom is that knowledge is what you know and have learned, and wisdom is your ability to apply that knowledge into real life and use it.

Is true beauty subjective or objective?

I’d say true beauty is subjective because to me, someone's beauty isn’t at all defined in any objective way. It’s how their personality and emotions interact with the people and the world around them. There are so many more beautiful traits someone can have personality-wise than objectively in my opinion.

My aunt bought me my current broomstick for Quidditch, and it’s become my most treasured belonging in the six months I’ve owned it.

Koko’s a weird name, I’ll admit that. I sort of like Marie…

Now, Slytherin’s superior - but if I had to choose, it’d be Ravenclaw.

I’ve got a cat, a little one at that. Why? Well, how can you say no to that face?

The whole thing going on with Potter is interesting. Funny how someone so loved can become hated quite quickly.

Gosh, I’ve been waiting for this to be asked. Uh, please don’t take offence. Ravenclaws, you lot hardly ever talk! At least from what I’ve seen, and when you do talk, it’s to hurt others! It’s quite rude! Hufflepuffs… There’s so much I could say, goodness. You all think you’re perfect because you’re in the ‘nice’ house. And Gryffindors… You know other people matter, right?

What’s your favorite part of being on the Headliner team?

It’s nice getting to see everyone work together. Despite our differences (some of them stated above), we all manage to get along fairly well, and it reflects in our work.

Would you want to get a tattoo?

I don’t think so… Wouldn’t it hurt if I did it the Muggle way? Besides, I like my skin as it is.

What’s your favorite thing to write about?

Huh, I’ve realised that writing about conspiracies is fun. Because, like, some of them might be true. You never know what’s real and what isn’t.

What are some accomplishments that you are really proud of?

I’m excited that I made it onto the Slytherin Quidditch Team! Quidditch is my passion, and it’s great to be a part of the school’s main sport.

What would you like to know more about, but haven’t had the time to look into?

Dragons! There are so many different species, and I just think they’re really amazing. Sadly, I don’t know if I have the time to read about them.

What skill or ability have you always wanted to learn?

I want to learn how to do calligraphy! My handwriting’s a bit messy as is, and I’d like to make pretty lettering.

What would you do with the extra time if you never had to sleep?

I’d work on reading, maybe. Or fly. You can never get bored of flight.

What do you spend most of your time doing?

Probably flying on my broom. It’s one of my passions. Seeing the world from up that high… There’s no experience that trumps it.

I hope the feeling of the sun on my face never changes as I grow up.

What is special about the place you grew up?

London… There’s so much history. You don’t really think about it when you live there, but after moving, I feel nostalgic. I don’t get to see the old buildings there anymore; I don’t get to look across the Thames and imagine all the people who’ve crossed it. Granted, now that I go to France for the holidays with my aunt and visit Los Angeles with my father during the summer, I can sort of see history there… But it’s not the same as where I grew up.

What job do you think you’d be really good at?

Professional Quidditch player, I’d hope! If not that, maybe something in the Department of Mysteries...

What makes a good life?

You know you’ve had a good life when you feel closure. I don’t know how to describe it, really, but I think if you feel all right with everything you’ve done, you’re good.

What’s something you’re self-conscious about?

I don’t like reading small print. A lot of my friends do, and sometimes they tease me about it. I understand it’s meant in a good nature, but… Sometimes it hits a bit close to home.

What do you like most about your family?

If you’d asked last year, I’d’ve said I didn’t like much. It’s not my family that was the issue, it was the moving around. Now, I find I like the chaos of it all. Too much routine is boring.

What’s your favorite dessert?

Anything chocolate. Bourbons are really good, though, and I can go through an entire package in a day.

What are you most likely very wrong about?

I wouldn’t say I’m very wrong, but most other people would. The world’s flat. Well, flat save for the mountains and ditches and things like that. Still, though - how else would you explain maps!?

I still lick plates sometimes… Don’t tell anyone, please… Wait...

What do you do when you hang out with your friends?

I… We… We talk? About Quidditch, maybe? Or gossip a bit? I… I don’t know.

Are you an organized person?

I try to be. I’ve organised my quills by size and my inkwells by colour. I think I’m doing an okay job.

Who had the biggest impact on the person you have become?

Probably my mum. The lessons she’s taught me have shaped my mind into allowing me to think the way I do today. If not her, then her younger sister, who’s taught me that you can have fun in moderation.

What do you do to improve your mood when you are in a bad mood?

I write. I might not like reading, but there’s just something about being able to shape an entire world with only a quill and some parchment. Sometimes, escaping to a world you create for a little while can lift your spirits.

What’s the best room in your house?

Well, I technically stay at two houses. My dad’s house is quaint, yeah, but we’ve got this really cool room on the first floor! There’s a sliding glass door that leads out to a balcony in front of the ocean. In my mum’s house, there are too many rooms… But there’s a room with a whole bunch of instruments! I once flew my broom through there. I got reprimanded, but it sure was fun!

What makes you nervous?

When people ignore me, probably. I’m easy to ignore, but it still bothers me a lot.

What’s your favorite holiday?

Christmas! Leblanc Estates… I’d never seen anything so beautiful as a snowy French chateau. Believe me when I say that the decorations are top-tier.

Who do you miss the most?

I miss my little brother. He’s still alive, yeah, but… I miss Charlie. He used to be so sweet, and now he’s cold towards me, Da, and Holmes. It’s… Sad to see.

Would you rather always be too hot or too cold?

I’d rather be too cold. There are ways to warm up. Heat is miserable.

What’s your morning routine?

Uh… I wake up. I get dressed. I brush my hair and teeth… I freshen up a bit. Then I eat breakfast. Boring, I know.

What makes you most proud?

My place on the Quidditch team, probably. I know I talk about Quidditch a lot, but it’s really my pride and joy.

Would you want to be an Animagus?

Who wouldn’t want to be an Animagus, is the question! I’d love to be able to turn into an animal, specifically a hawk.

Who do you count on the most?

I count on my fellow Slytherin prefects. While they might be intimidating, they certainly know what they’re doing, and I respect them. I also trust them to catch wrongdoers when on their patrols.

What makes you the happiest?

My cat! Cats are really warm, you know. Their purring… It’s so endearing. This little ball of fur, just vibrating in your arms as it rubs its face against you… Beautiful.

Are you a jealous person?

I don’t know. Maybe. I get a weird feeling inside me when people do things I can’t. I’m not sure if that’s jealousy...

Can you tell when people are lying?

I guess, if I know them well enough. There’s always a tell. Maybe they glance up and to the right, or maybe their leg bounces.

What bores you?

I’ve probably mentioned it, but reading is boring. Some stories are fine, sure, but… Why read words on a page when you could see it performed on a stage or hear it?

What do you like to eat for breakfast?

I like Oeufs Cocotte. The way my grand-pere makes it is absolutely delicious. It’s just eggs, but in a pot and topped with things and cooked differently than usual.

What’s something you like to do the old-fashioned way?

I’d like to play music the old-fashioned way, like… Tuned a bit lower, on an old instrument such as a harpsichord, lute, or maybe pianoforte… Or even just the classical music I already play. The things on the radio nowadays are so boring.

What’s a habit you should break?

I bite my nails. It’s not the best habit, but… It’s fun? Not really, but… It’s comforting, I guess.

Who on the Headliner team would you want to officiate your wedding?

Uh… I mean, Alexx is smart and might know how to officiate a wedding… But so is Ruby, and I think I know Ruby better.

Who, or what, should be the Headliner’s mascot?

Maybe a quill? Not a normal quill, though. A quill that flies through the air and pokes us when we don’t work or procrastinate. That… Isn’t a thing, yet, but I’m sure it’ll happen soon.

What’s something you will never do again?

I will never, ever, ever eat four bars of chocolate again. It’s… Not good for me, I’ve learnt.

I listen to pretty much all types of music, but after getting into theatre a while ago, I found Jodie Steele. I love, love, love her singing.

Political topics. I used to avoid politics on purpose, and while I still consider myself politically independent, I’ve begun to make up my mind about some things.

I could spend all day talking about history, specifically medieval and Renaissance history. It’s amazing how much of an effect it has on our daily lives, and how awful it would be to repeat some things. Plus, the fashion is utterly impeccable.

It’d probably be a cover band, not going to lie. Put our own spin on things, you know?

Anyways. It’s improper grammar and is fine in dialogue, I suppose, but I still have an animosity towards the word.

Absolutely. Loud noises are terrifying. They’ll make you leap up in your seat or just jolt you out of your thoughts. 0/10, do not recommend.

What do you love most about yourself?

I love my ability to be open to anything before making up my mind. It’s incredibly useful, and it’s just an aspect of my personality that others seem to like as well.

What’s a responsibility you wish you didn’t have?

Loading the dishwasher. The texture bothers me and I have to wash my hands extensively afterwards. Unloading it is fine; I just hate touching food people have likely touched with their mouths.

“Climb”, probably. The word has so many meanings, and it encapsulates my life in a nutshell.
