Autumn Ball: A Fair of Harvest

Gentlefolk, ladies and gentlemen. As autumn settles upon the castle and the last warmth of the year gives way to crisp evenings, golden leaves, and lengthening shadows, Hogwarts once again open their doors to witches and wizards from around the world. The visit is set October 24th to November 6th, and you are most cordially invited to attend.

For one evening, Hogwarts shall take on all the charm and bustle of an old-fashioned autumn fair. Come beneath strings of lanterns and bunting, where pumpkins gather amongst baskets of apples, fallen leaves scatter underfoot, and the halls glow warmly against the chill beyond the windows. Music, dancing, games and curious entertainments shall await those willing to leave their books behind and join the festivities. Guests are encouraged to arrive in their finest Victorian attire and enjoy all that the fair has to offer.

Students may gather beneath the lights for an evening of music, conversation and dancing. Whether you intend to spend the night upon the dance floor or merely wish to watch the festivities from somewhere comfortably out of the way, all are welcome. Near the entrance, a photographic booth shall be waiting for those wishing to preserve a little evidence of the occasion. Gather your friends, strike your finest pose, and leave with a keepsake of the evening.

And, for those with an interest in matters rather less certain, a fortune teller has accepted our invitation to attend. Cards may be turned. Palms may be read. Futures may be glimpsed. Whether one ought to believe what is foretold is, naturally, an entirely different matter.

A few activities has been set up earlier in the day for those among us who might want a thrill of their choice. Signups and detailed information about each activity will follow shortly.

THE HAUNTED MAZE Those possessed of courage, or simply an unfortunate amount of curiosity, are invited to try their luck within our Haunted Maze. Beyond its entrance waits a twisting collection of passages, shadows and seasonal frights. Find your way through and return triumphantly to the fair... ...provided, of course, that you do not lose your nerve first.

A GAME OF MONOPOLY For those who prefer their dangers financial rather than spectral, a grand game of Monopoly shall also be held during the festivities. Fortunes shall be made and squandered, properties bought, bargains struck, and friendships tested over the exchanging of suspiciously colourful banknotes. Come prepared with a keen mind, a little luck, and perhaps a healthy distrust of your fellow players.

So dust off your finest clothes, gather your companions, and follow the lantern light. There will be music to hear, games to play, fortunes to discover and memories to make before autumn gives way to winter. Surely nothing could possibly disturb such a pleasant evening.
