„I suppose we are…that’s incredible,“ Carolyn chuckled at the coincidence. She was already surprised to meet someone of her heritage here but this was a whole new level. I made a right choice to come here after all. Stargazing was fun and all but this meeting made it all the more special. Perhaps they would even become friends.
“No need for thanks. I admire your courage. I’m doing okay in the Flying class except it’s not a talent but a result of hard work. Flying does not come to me naturally. My balance is good but I prefer to be more careful, which doesn’t go well with Quidditch.” Carolyn scarcely shared her weaknesses with someone; she was a proper Ravenclaw in that regard. And well…the Asian genes probably had something to do with it too. Aaron looked pretty easy going though and he obviously didn’t judge her for having different interests. “I don’t think the dance team is going to happen but I appreciate the potential support. Although, it’s a shame. I was surprised by how many dancers I have met in the ballroom. I doubt there will be an official team but there is a club at least,” she said smiling. Truth to be told, she would be fine even if she had to practice alone but company was always nice.
Aaron’s eyes then wandered towards her sketchbook and for once, the young witch didn’t mind. She wasn’t a show off and if she felt uncomfortable with the person in any way, she would prefer to keep her art to herself but this particular Hufflepuff didn’t fall into that category. “Well, yes. I’m not very good though,” she answered his question, moving the picture closer to him so he could take a peek. “I don’t really draw realistic scenery so it’s only inspired by the night sky. I could probably do it but it’s not as fun…at least to me,” she explained eventually. It was nice speaking in Korean after so long. She did miss that part of her life. “My mum is working at St. Mungo’s and my father is a muggle surgeon,” she smirked. “You know because if you are Asian your only options are either a doctor or a lawyer.” It was a joke but a joke that was built on reality. Her father truly wanted to become a doctor but she was pretty sure he would be one even if he wasn’t interested. “Anyway, they are both very busy so my mother made sure to sign me up for plenty after school activities. The ones I stuck with are ballet and drawing,” she said while picking up some vegetable. “What about you any other hobbies? What do your parents do?” Carolyn asked in return. “I mean…if you don’t mind me asking of course."

Alan left his tent wearing something quite different from his usual attire, more relaxed an casual. Yet his trade mark was still present, red clothes. Wearing a pair of beige colored pants that were folded up around the ankle area and a white shirt with a cute little print. This was coupled with a red cardigan and a white pair of sneakers. Now useless, the sunglasses he had been wearing all day were still covering his eyes which would hide them well from other's sights. Why? No clue, it looked cool. His hair was tousled up and unkempt, promising that he had a fun day as he looked around the area. He saw a lot of students mostly occupied with what he assumed were their friends.
First of all he caught sight of @Alaric Equinox and his face lit up as he waved the old dhampir. "Mister Equinox, hi!", he would greet the man with a smile but he would not stick around him for much longer as he was here to make some connections with other students. It would be weird to sit together with a professor. He would have headed for another familiar face, Santario, but she was currently talking with a guy he had not really seen before, but yet seemed familiar as if he had seen him once. For a moment he doubted that he was a Hogwarts student, but he knew that this event was specifically for Hogwarts.
Taking in the view further he would find someone he had meant to speak with and headed towards @Aaron Jones who was in a conversation with a girl. He truly hoped that he would not be intruding as he stepped closer. "Hey Aaron" he would greet the boy and then turn towards the girl and held out his hand for her, @Carolyn Hunt, to shake, if she would like to. "Hi, I'm Alan. Would you t-two mind if I sit with you?"

Sylvain made his way to the picnic area with the others. The curious boy had come here in hopes of hearing one of Professor Lian's stories about the stars. As he waited for the storytelling to start, he scrounged around the area for the snacks of his preference. Delighting in cottage cheese with some peaches and a bit of water. The food was both sweet and easy to slurp down while he waited. Having scarfed his snack and begun searching for others to talk to, Sylvain passed by Alaric and Alan. As the boy calmly walked by, he gave them both a confident, reassuring smile. The type of infectious smile that didn't have a purpose other than to illicit one back.
Continuing his quest for something to do while he waited, Sylvain eventually stumbled upon the line to Professor Kibitzer's fortunetelling set up. The mere thought of the dangerous knowledge learned through divination made the rational side of his brain swell in pain. His face contorted into a visibly pained grimace. Didn't knowing the outcome of the future force one to reliably manifest that future? Better not to learn dangerous knowledge so that he could make his decisions without grief or shame. Still, something mad inside his head screamed for him to do it. Reluctantly, the lad decided to relax his anxieties instead. There was no future worth knowing if he didn't get to enjoy the present.
The professors had worked hard to ensure the students had everything conducive to a relaxing night under the stars, but Sylvain still felt a bit restless even in the peaceful tranquility of the picnic area. Students rifled about, joking and playing games. Some ate snacks and sat together while chatting, some lay upon their blankets observing the majesty of the sky and others still enjoyed the cool breeze of a summer night in peace. Sylvain was the type that enjoyed the summer draft. As much as this night was meant to be peaceful, it was a bit crowded for his taste. Of course, he didn't expect any of the plans to conform to his opinions or his sensibilities.
Seeing Dealla and Ileen with their group of tent mates, Sylvain decided to stay back and observe for now. He certainly hadn't been invited to sit with them, nor would he have been likely to join even if he had been. Besides being unable to identify some of the people they sat with, he couldn't tell if any of them were very friendly or not either. There seemed to be a lot of teasing going on, and he was way to sensitive to handle it. Better he make his way to the pillow seats to wait with the others collecting around the storytelling area. He gave a wave to Ileen and Dee before making his way over to the pillows.
Plopping down onto a cushion with a satisfying "Fwumbpf," Sylvain adjusted the strap of his bag so it rested on his stomach instead of his shoulder. Propping his feet up on an adjacent cushion, the lad laid back staring up at the sky while popping Bott's beans in his mouth. The curious boy retching only once at the taste of vomit in his mouth before giving up on them in favor of the reliable flavor of chocolate frogs. His curiosity was sated.

“Thank you, I love them,” Ileen declared open-heartedly when Zykeal offered her some of the jelly slugs he had placed next to Dee. She fought herself up into a sitting position and reached over Dee into the bag. It didn't matter to her that she had to lie on Dee's outstretched legs with her entire upper body. Still lying there, she gazed up to the sky and then eyed the young Gryffindor. “I can’t see your slug in the sky – sorry.” She smirked at him and then rolled on her back, placing her head at Dee’s legs, just when Adonis stopped by to take their food. Well, good thing she had already saved some candy from that robbery.
“Don’t worry, I’ll share mine,” she offered and grabbed her strawberries to put them next to the empty bag of Zykeal’s jelly slugs. Then she sighed contentedly and shoved some sweets into her mouth while looking at the sky above her. “Dee, your lap is pretty comfy.” Her words were a little mumbled and she almost choked. She had to giggle - a giggle that quickly turned into a cough shaking her whole body and Dee.
When she could breathe again, she sat up and peered over to their missing tent group, following Dee’s gaze. “What are they doing anyways? Putting down roots?” With a grin she stretched out her legs. “Well, I won’t complain about the extra space.”
She looked suspiciously at her friend from the side. She had not failed to notice the Ravenclaw's shifty look from her strawberries to Percival. “Thank you very much. Some peace would be nice.” She shook her head. “Finally no one is fighting. We should celebrate that! And not poking the bear!”
With a stern look she grabbed one of the strawberries from Dee and put it in her mouth. "Besides, they're far too good to be wasted as projectiles."
Interested, she let her gaze wander over the hustle and bustle around her and got stuck with the professor for divination. “Hey, should we go over to Professor Kibitzer for a fortune telling? I would love to know what she could tell me,” she asked the two sitting next to her. She really was curious – even though she wasn’t that into such things, she wanted to know how it was done. Or if there were any interesting facts about herself.

Charles was wearing some black gloves, a black long sleeved shirt, and black jeans, just to do his best to hide his corpse like skin if anyone tried to really look. But he didn't wear makeup so they could tell if they looked at his face. When Charles left his tent he took a deep breath. He needed time to think about what has happened in the few days he was here. But he never expected to meet his friend's friend. Something about her reminded him of himself.
But he had no idea why they were complete opposites. As he headed over to where all the people out stargazing where he thought about that. Maybe that's why she's Henrys best friend. Maybe its because they are complete opposites they are great friends. Charles thought. Henry and Charles were really alike and they were really good friends. Charles shook his head, just thinking about that made him want to cry. And he did not want to cry here.
He never wanted to cry, but he was such a crybaby. It was very ironic, Charles then remembered why he was here. So he looked around, there was people everywhere and some sitting on picnic tables and some on blankets. Charles looked around for an empty picnic table. All of them had somebody sitting down on them. Charles looked around some more and found a good picnic table to sit at. He then found one with just a professor sitting at it.
At least maybe the professor would not try to start a conversation with him. So Charles headed over to the table he was sitting at and sat down. When Charles sat down he hoped the professor would pay no attention to him. But just to be polite Charles gave him a wave. And an obvious fake smile, Charles one this was rude. But he didn't really care at the time, he just wanted to think in peace under the stars.

Aaron took a great interest in Carolyn's drawing, accepting the book that she pushed towards him. As he examined the page in the dim red light of the event, his dark eyes roved the details of the creation. It was amazing! "It's really good! Way better than anything I could draw," he complimented, offering a smile as he pushed the sketchbook back to her.Interacting with @Carolyn Hunt and @Alan Vanes

Carolyn launched into talking about her family next, and Aaron listened attentively as he ate. He grinned a little when she made the joke about Asian careers. "That's really cool, the whole drawing and ballet. My main hobby before coming here was Taekwondo," Aaron shared, referencing the semi-popular Korean martial arts. "I still practice it, but mainly on my own. There's a martial artist club at Hogwarts now, but there haven't been too many meetings." He had actually stopped going to the martial artist club after the Secret Blossom Ball, since he was a little ashamed to face the leader of the club. She was a prefect he had invited to the event, promising it would be safe, and- well, things had definitely turned out not safe at all. He really should get around to apologizing to her...
Aaron turned his attention back to Carolyn as she asked about his parents. "Well, actually my parents are both Muggles. They teach at a university in Cardiff. Mum teaches Korean - language classes and culture classes - and Dad teaches History." Before he could explain his family any further, a friendly face appeared and Aaron straightened up a bit. He hadn't realized he'd been leaning across the table to better hear and speak to Carolyn.
"Alan, hi!" Aaron greeted, another huge smile gracing his face. He switched back to English to be courteous to the newcomer. "This is Carolyn, she's a Ravenclaw in my year. And Alan's two years ahead, and a Gryffindor," Aaron introduced the two of them, furthering the basic information they needed of each other. He gestured to the seat beside him, confirming that Alan was welcome to sit.

„Thank you, you are too kind,“ she blushed a little upon receiving the compliment. Truth to be told, Carolyn wasn’t used to compliments. Her mother praised her quite often but she was her mother and therefore incredibly biased. Thankfully, the conversation soon focused on Aaron’s hobbies. It was nice to hear he had some muggle ones too. She didn’t know there was such club at school to be honest. “Really, that’s amazing and probably quite useful I imagine,” she smiled at the boy. “And I’m sorry the club doesn’t meet too often. I do practice alone most of the time too. In fact, my application wasn’t even approved yet. It seems my club hasn’t been very active either,” she shrugged sounding a bit disappointed. “I don’t mind too much. Practising alone can be nice too, although I miss the music and I suppose you must miss a sparring partner?” Time alone could be relaxing in a way but after certain amount of time it became a bit lonely.
“I see, they must be pretty smart then. I’m surprised you are not in Ravenclaw.” Carolyn commented on Aaron’s parents. Well, just because they are professors doesn’t mean they are pushing their son to be a scholar too. “Then again, my mother was almost sorted to Hufflepuff but ended up in Slytherin so I guess it doesn’t really matter.” Her mother always felt like the Sorting hat did her a disservice and sorted her in Slytherin solely based on her family ties but maybe that was not the case after all. Aaron clearly wanted to add more information to the mix but they were soon interrupted by another boy coming to their table. She looked up to see him, recognising his face almost immediately. She couldn’t quite remember the name though. Oh, Alan…that’s right. Carolyn accepted his hand gladly. She was used to greeting people this way too but first years sometimes found it oddly formal. “Nice to meet you Alan,” she said with a smile before realising her mistake. “Oh god, sorry. I mean, nice to meet you,” she repeated herself in English. Aaron then greeted the boy and added some more information to the table. Clearly, they already knew each other. “I actually remember you from school. Although I’m ashamed to admit, it’s mostly because of your cat,” she nervously tucked her hair behind her ear. Did she come across as weird for saying that? “I mean, he is beautiful. Tiger is his name, correct?”
In all honesty, Carolyn was jealous. She really wanted a cat herself. She had a dog at home but she couldn’t take Morgana to school and she missed her dearly. They were best friends, spent so much time together... It was hard being apart for so long. Having another fluffy friend she could actually take to Hogwarts would be incredible.

As he stepped closer he could hear the two speak in a foreign language that he pointed towards Asian origin, but Aaron was luckily quick to switch to English once Alan approached the Hufflepuff. Nicely enough, Aaron took it upon himself to introduce the two of them to each other and Alan smiled at the unfamiliar girl Probably still caught in her previous conversation with Aaron she would speak to him in the very same foreign language but quickly caught her mistake and apologized. "Hi, no, don't worry," he rushed out nervously, smiling at her before glancing at Aaron equally nervous. When she mentioned his cat, his worries would quickly melt away and he focused back on the girl with a bright smile, finally treading a topic he was familiar and comfortable with. "You do?", he would start excitedly. He actually had no recollection of meeting her before, but if she knew Tiger they could have met anywhere since Tiger was mostly always around.
"Yes, th-that's his name! He is in th-the tent at th-the moment because I don't want him go around stealing peoples picnic," he would admit with a chuckle. Tiger was quite the brat for a kitten sometimes, acting like a dog or even a small child sometimes and Alan while doing a great job, loved to just let Tiger roam around because that was what the cat wanted to do and who was he to deny his wishes? After this he would face Aaron once again, sitting down across from him at the picnic table. "Are you nervous at all? For th-the game I mean," he would ask the Hufflepuff. He knew that Aaron was only on the waitlist, but he was also their co-captain which meant that he knew the team and was basically a big part of it already. "I will be th-there to cheer!"

Santario continued to impress him. Howard wasn’t usually one for appreciating his peers, but there was a depth to her that intrigued him so. He was still assuming the girls age as he searched those sapphire colored eyes and listened to her words. Unlike the other first or second years, Santario presented herself with a sense of maturity and possibly a hint of sorrow if Howard judged correctly. He had come to be able to recognize it within others. A reflection in their eyes that must have mimicked his own, or that tiny little note of pain that carried on their voices. He used to avoid it, why commiserate with those that reminded you of your own losses and heartache, but now he sought it out. Those that know loss have a higher understanding. The knowledge that life does what it wants, regardless of your own desires, that any future must be of your own making and paid for with sacrifice. In other words, they made potential allies.Interaction: @Santario Martin
Santario would speak of his name, Howard. Again she proved a wisdom beyond her years as she told him of his namesakes history. A definition that would bring with it a slight twinge of remorse. Heart, mind, spirit, hardiness, bravery....a path he used to walk on. Well, a path Howie used to walk on, the mask he used to present to the world to hide the growing monster within. However, his mask used to be his truth for every wall we build comes from somewhere within us. A destiny that he should have lived, perhaps the reason why the sorting hat placed him in the house of black and yellow, but destiny is just that, a pile of shite. Howard believed in the concept of destiny, as he failed to see that life is nothing but the choices you make. Like any great story, Howard had stood at the crossroads and chose the darker path. One filled with fear, domination and violence, all to be believe that it was no choice at all. Preordained by the gods as they moved their pieces across the boards. Heart, mind, spirt, hardiness, bravery....oh what a man he could have become.
Crunch! Howard stuffed another pretzel in his mouth as he shoved the thoughts from his mind. “Hmm, I dunno Santario, I’d have to disagree. Names are just names if you ask me. Some are good, some are shite.” He spoke in between chews as he brushed the crumbs from his hands. “Now that is something we can agree on.” Howard referred to her fondness of the night. He was in every way nocturnal by nature. The harmful rays of the sun assaulted his flesh and the constant noise of people hustling throughout their days overwhelmed his heightened senses. “Yeah, it’s nice when everyone finally shuts up, innit?” Such a way with words our Howard. “But I know what you mean. Hard to find any peace at these school things. If only we could have had private tents, am I right?”
Howard’s eyes drifted back to where Professor Kibitzer had set up shop for the night. Santario’s words rung true as more of the littles flocked around her, but there was something in her tone that caught his attention. “Don’t care for Divination, do ya?”

May was tired. She didn't want to get out stargazing like the others, but she thought better than to stay in the Hufflepuff themed tent she shared with four people, all from different houses. She took a deep breath, changed into more fresh clothes and took a step out of the tent. It seemed like they had planned everything perfectly. It was beautiful, almost magical outside, late night, and the stars were...magical. May didn't love astronomy. Even less astronomy class. But then, she loved gazing at the stars. It was- relaxing. Almost as thought you were gazing at a hypnotic circle that moved round and round.
Se walked slowly to the crowd, until she saw professor Kibzier doing something. She looked more closely, and saw that she was- reading their future probably. She shrugged and decided she would go and check it out later. She went and saw Alaric Equinox and waved happily. She smiled at Santario Martin even tho she didn't know her. It was strange. She had gone out of the tent and now she felt happy. She had forgotten everything about the Quiddich match, the school attacks...everything.
When she arrived, she sat on the grass and looked at the starry sky. Then, she heard some Koren voices. May herself didn't understand that language. Still, she could hear it and know it was Korean. She saw Aaron Jones, engaged in a conversation with someone else. There was also Alan Vanes, a Gryffidnor friend she had met once in the library. She went to see what they were doing, politely but still, she wanted to know what they were talking about. «Hello Alan. Capt'n Jones- and I'm May, May Moonstar nice to meet you-» she looked at the girl, she looked part Asian of course. She smiled at her warmly.
