Autumn sighed. The library, unlike its usual state, was packed. From what she knew, it was that that the third years were having their History of Magic exams, and that the fourth years were having their Muggle Studies exams. Everyone was revising.

Well, Autumn was not.

In fact, she had just had Naomi, her younger sister by 2 years, send her a new book by a muggle author, one of Autumn's favourites. Currently, she was looking for somewhere she could sit, preferably at the Victorian-like chairs at the tables. She did not have a specific reason to be at the library, yet she did not feel like leaving, however much discomfort the crowd caused her.

She found a girl, around her age, Autumn guessed, sitting at a table, chair in front of her seemingly unoccupied. She had pink hair, which was the first thing Autumn had actually noticed about her. She had warm ivory skin, and seemed very much concentrated at the paper in front of her, which she seemed to be sketching on.

Huh. An artist, Autumn thought with slight interest.

She walked over to the girl, and spoke politely, with a polite, fake smile plastered on her face.

"Salutations. Is the seat in front of you unoccupied, and if it is, may I occupy it?"

It was nearing the end of the school year and Sky was becoming particularly frustrated with the rules and regulations that had been enforced upon the students. Honestly, it was quite unnecessary in her opinion, whoever was stupid enough to get them selves caught by hags or any other wandering creatures, well, they were at fault for being reckless in that way. However, now was not the time for another of her pointless mental debates. The slytherin made her way to the library idly, her spirits high as she approached a lone table, taking a seat and opening her notebook to the desired page. It wasn't something she would normally do, coming to the library in the middle of the day. As it was known, Sky preferred to avoid social interaction altogether, it was better up in her dormitory, or the owlery, where she could have peace- alone.

Yet unusually, today she became so focused in her doodling, that she almost forgot about where she was- it was welcome, it brought a state of tranquility to her mind as she zoned out, unaware of her surroundings.

However this wouldn't last long.

"Salutations. Is the seat in front of you unoccupied, and if it is, may I occupy it?"

She snapped her head up, blinking, brown orbs focusing on a hufflepuff girl.

“What do you want!” The snake snapped on reflex. The words tumbled out in defence, she had hardly given them a thought. The phrase had no meaning whatsoever and she almost instantly regretted what she had said. “Uh,” She stated. She was in a particularly good mood today, surely a small act of kindness would not proceed to fracture it?

“Of course, feel free to take a seat, I would seem quite lonely otherwise.” Not that she mined being alone. On the contrary it was one of the things she liked very much. However a change would be too deeply resented.

After all, Skys mother had been a hufflepuff herself. The kind nature of the badgers, the soft endearing personality; it was secretly all welcome to Sky, something she admired. This was saying a lot, considering that Sky was exceptionally hard to please. However, quite the opposite to her feelings towards the lion house, she found the hufflepuffs interesting. No doubt they could be annoying at times, but their friendly demeanour, their caring reflex, remind her of her mother. It was comforting almost.

Autumn simply raised an eyebrow at the girl's impulse of a response. She was a Slytherin, and that was about the most Gryffindor response she could have given. She pulled over the chair and sat down. Placing her book before herself, and opening the first page.

She tried to mute out the chatter in the background, and succeeded. She began reading.
" "Honey, if there was any other way, your mother and I would take you with us in a heartbeat."
Alexandra Jennings stared out the car window into the dense forest and sighed deeply into her phone."
Wow, Autumn had missed phones. She chuckled slightly and continued reading.

" "I know Dad. But it still sucks." "
Autumn sighed. She had missed this. Just her, the smell of old parchment and ink from the library, and a good book by Lynette Noni.

Within 15 minutes, she was halfway through the third chapter. She decided to take a break of a few seconds, just to rest her eyes. Her lack of good eyesight was already a nuisance, she had no reason to make it worse for herself.

Her eyes instinctively turned to the Slytherin in front of her. Her pink hair really was the first thing a person would notice about her, but Autumn cared more about the paper in front of the girl. On it was a drawing Autumn could not imagine herself drawing. It was intricate, and detailed, and skillful. Sure, she enjoyed drawing every once in a while, but this was a new level of talent.

She made sure to not stare and seem creepy. She simply glanced back at the paper, then at the girl, and raised an eyebrow, as if asking the girl about the piece of art. She hoped she would not come of as intrusive or anything of the kind.
OOC: The book Autumn is reading it Akarnae by Lynette Noni. Great book, and I recommend it. Also, if you need it for your timeline, this thread takes place during November, first year of Sky and Autumn, if November works for you.

Sky had been drawing for more than 10 minutes now, her doodles of owls and other intricate birds were something she was quite proud of, she had been sketching since she was little and it came as something quite effortless to her, not to mention relaxing and peaceful. The slytherin became aware of eyes upon her but still continued to shade in the wing of the tawny owl she was drawing. The gaze of whoever was staring seemed relatively strong, no doubt it was the hufflepuff she had so kindly allowed to sit opposite her.

Glancing up, she took a haughty breath, huffing impatiently before survaying the girl's expression. “What do you wan-“ but the hufflepuff girl cut her off with a raise of her eyebrow and a signal to the work of art the snake had previously been working on. Sky was a odd person really, in the fact that she was majorly extroverted and reserved at the same time. While she was confident enough to stand up for herself and speak her mind, other personal things she was more likely to shy away. She didn’t want people attacking her weaknesses, especially not her personal arts and creations.

“This...uh..well.”
She supposed the girl didn’t mean any harm and so pushed the art slightly forward so that she could get a good look at it. “I...draw in my spare time. That’s a tawny owl, and this unfinished one over here is a macaw, see the shape of its beak??” She had always enjoyed showing her work to her younger brother. He never judged her and always listened, nicely complimenting her and always making her feel special. How she missed that so, although this girl didn’t seem too bad, maybe not everyone in this school had such an unfortunate taste for reckless arrogance.

“May I ask,” she started politely, “What is your name? I’m Sky, Sky Evans.”
