If Lydia had approached Alan and Rafael not really knowing how to behave with the Quidditch Captain, and wether to address -maybe later in private- the event of the Greenhouse, it was quite clear to her that Rafael had decided a completely different approach; while Lydia tried not to avoid him again, and almost pretended that the kiss did not happen -even if she did want to talk about it- the boy looked as if the red headed Hufflepuff was the last person he wanted to see.

His hood pulled up and his cold voice had sent an unpleasant shiver down Lydia's spine, as his body language clearly stated discomfort coming from him, with the way he was basically hugging himself and how his voice sounded so angry with the girl; his eyes resembled his internal turmoil, and Lydia, for a second, thought she had seen almost a glimpse of fear.

It took her a lot not to get properly upset by his behaviour; after all, he had been extremely angry with the girl when she had tried her best to avoid him, so why would he do that? Just to hurt her the way she had hurt him?

How was the saying... "An eye for an eye"?

She quickly shook that thought away, she really couldn't do the same mistake all over again; she needed to be smarter, more responsible even. So even though she was hurt by the way he had coldly talked to her, Lydia tried her best not to take it personal. She was trying to get better at this, wasn't she? Talking with people, having to bear and react to others' actions...

Her train of thoughts got cut off by Ariana, her bouncy voice capturing her attention. "Hey Ari!" she responded, her lips curled up in a smile, her negative feelings pushed further down, ignored as much as she could. Shortly after Ariana, another girl approached the group and introduced herself as Ivy; she looked slightly like Ana, and for a second Lydia's instinct of running away broke free of the hold she had on it. No, no more running away from problems, she needed to face them."Hi Ivy, I'm Lydia! Nice to meet you!" she said and gave the new girl a warm smile, as she tried her best to make her feel included, her eyes only briefly moving to look at Rafael.

Up until that point, Lydia didn't notice too much how more open and friendly the boy had been towards the others, but when another girl -Lydia was quite sure she was a Hufflepuff, since she thought she had seen her at the Hufflepuff table a couple of times- joined them, and Rafael behaved in such a friendly manner, it became more than clear to her that maybe this time she should have just kept to herself and not bothered the boy.

A small frown appeared on her face, but just as quickly as it came it went away, with Lydia trying her best to keep the negative emotions at bay. This was a party with hot chocolate and pillows, there was no place for sadness- or at least that's what she kept repeating to herself in her mind.

Lydia greeted the new girl, and then turned her attention on Alan, returning the boy's bright smile. "I'm so happy you liked it!" her voice was filled with sudden excitement as she spoke, "I was worried that maybe it wouldn't have been interesting enough, or boring, especially if compared to the books about magical creatures!" She then turned towards Ariana again, and as she pointed towards where the hot chocolate was, she said "Ari, you should try the hot chocolate, it's amazing! There are so many different flavours!".

Once her eyes moved back from the hot chocolate table, they almost instinctively set on Rafael; Lydia was tempted to just chat with him, but in that moment it was as if her brain had stopped working.
She shifted her gaze to her shoes, as she let out a small sigh.

Hopefully the rest of the evening would have gone better.

Percival looked between the two slightly surprised. The boy had not expected the pair to actually know each other. Though he guessed being in the same Hogwarts house meant it was possible that they had met before. It was also probable that Opeila's many group gatherings had resulted in the two to interact with one another.

"Well I'm glad." he said with a grin. The boy missed the true context of the two's dislike for one another. Missing the way the recognition between the two was anything but happy. Percival glanced back towards Hanako to see why the other had not spoken in a bit. Though he missed the dumbfounded look that the boy had been wearing.

Percival felt immensely glad to see the grin on his friend's face. He had been worried that the other would have been upset at only learning about his and Opeila's relationship now. Though he was glad to see that the other seemed to not mind at all. He grinned back at his friend genuinely. Though the boy ended up raising an eyebrow at the other's words.

"That would be appreciated." he joked not taking the other's words seriously. Percival's eyes widened as the other spilled the whole practicing in front of a mirror. Even the remembrance of the incident, brought a warm feeling to his cheeks as he blushed with embarrassment. Percival shot a glare at the other boy annoyed that the other had brought up how he had talked to a mirror to practice asking Opeila out to dance.

Though the boy's annoyance was distracted for a moment as the other asked him to get him hot chocolate. Percival was about to tell the other to screw off and get his own damned hot chocolate. Yet, the words never left his mouth as he heard what Hanako referred to himself as. He wondered why it surprised him so much to hear Hanako call himself as a friend a close one at that. Percival was pretty certain that this was the first time those words ever graced the other's lips.

Percival couldn't help the smile that crossed his features. It was a natural reaction to having one's relationship with another being affirmed. Since the lake incident, he had been doubting whether or not the other actually considered him a friend. Percival glanced down at his almost empty hot chocolate cup, and downed the last bit. After he finished he glanced back towards Hanako. "Sure why not." he said with a small chuckle.

"Have fun you two." he said with a small wave. In his eyes, there was no cause for worry to leave Hanako and Opeila alone to talk. It wasn't like they were strangers or anything.

Percival left the group and made his way over to the table that held the coffee pots filled with hot chocolate. He grabbed one of the many mugs that were still clean and put it next to his already used mug. The boy then poured the hot chocolate carefully doing his best to not make a mess.

As he made his way back towards Opeila and Hanako. His attention was taken to a girl who seemed fairly uncomfortable. She was standing in the corner, and she didn't seem to be having any fun. Percival walked over to her with a small grin. "Hi my name is Rainwood. Percival Rainwood. I'd shake your hand but it is kind of occupied at the moment." he said shrugging his shoulders up and down to show the fact that his hands were full.

Tallis had been standing in the corner of the party for sometime and with every moment that passed she kept asking herself why on earth she was here. She didn't know anyone here and she would be lying if she said she was comfortable She watched as people continued to enter the room, already with friends or going to interact with there friends. She had met a few people through the year but only found one person who she called a friend and he wasn't here so she was left by herself. She looked over at the hot chocolate table and went back and forth between getting a cup or not. She had always had a sweet tooth but decided against it, knowing she would probably spill it from her hands shaking so much.

That's when she noticed a blond haired boy coming towards her with a slight grin on his face, his hands full. He introduced himself as Percival Rainwood. She wasn't sure what to do, she was quite literally in a corner and it would be awkward if she stayed quiet so she decided to tell him her name. "M...My name i...is Tallis, Tallis Oblidge," She told him, nervously playing with a strand of her hair. She didn't understand how people could just go up to one another and talk, then again she had never been what one would call a social butterfly.

Percival was beginning to doubt coming over to the girl. It seemed like she might have been trying to distance herself from the party. When the girl stuttered out her name to him it only seemed clearer. Though he could not exactly just back down now. The last thing he wanted was for the girl to think that she had done something wrong.

So, instead, he gave the other a smile. He hoped it would come across as a reassuring smile to hopefully make her feel more comfortable. Though he was not so sure how well it came across. "Well it's nice to meet you Oblidge." he said with a small dip of his head.
Percival's thinking was directed down towards his hands. While the boy was fairly strong the weight of both the filled hot chocolate mugs was making his hands ache. The ache was nothing more than an uncomfortable sensation. Percival moved to put the two mugs on one of the many empty desks.

After the mugs had been safely relocated atop the desk, where they did not risk being broken, he turned back to talk to Tallis. He hoped that Hanako and Opeila would not mind if he took a second to make sure Tallis was feeling included at the party. Though he did not think he had to worry especially since they already knew each other. In his mind, letting the two catch up by themselves was a great idea. Besides, Tallis seemed like an interesting person to get to know. And one thing he was good at was being rather social to others.

"I like your outfit. Makes me wish I chose something different." he said with a grin as he gestured down to his plaid long-sleeved pajamas. Now looking at his own clothes, he wished that he had more hindsight to dress in something that wasn't pajamas. Though in the crowd of students it was clear to see that some chose pajamas while others had put a little more thought into their clothes for the little party.

"How are you liking the party so far?" he asked wondering if he would receive a positive or negative answer.

Percival complimented her outfit and she let out a quiet thank you. He asked her how she was enjoying the party. She looked around, not sure how to exactly answer his question. She had never been one for parties, of course, she had only been to three others before not including the ones she had with just her parents. She didn't want to sound rude or mean though so she quietly stuttered out, "I...It's... um... nice?" It came out more like a question than she had ment it to.

She wasn't good with people, she always made things awkward. She looked down at the ground, not sure what to do. "Um... how a...about you," she said after a moment of awkward silence. It was moments like these that she wished she had her dad's social skills. He always had a bright smile on his face and could go up to anyone and strike up a conversation. He was a people person and people were drawn to him. He always had a rainbow over his head, or at least that's what her father always said.

If he had a rainbow then she must have a rain cloud over her's. She pushed people away, not because she wanted to but because people usually didn't ever give her a chance. She sighed slightly and looked back up at Percival, waiting for his answer.

It seemed Ariana had arrived just in time to witness Rafa's slightly cold response towards Lydia. The inhospitable fragment of speech brought a slight frown to her features, and her grin faltered a little as she glared slightly at her cousin, taking a mental note to smack him over the head at the next private opportunity for being so icy towards her. No matter, for now she would act as though everything was fine, she'd find the boy later and bitch slap talk to him about whatever the hell was going on.

“She managed to knock Reid off his broom, once, can you believe that?”

At this Ariana blossomed her features into a proud grin, quidditch was a revered passion of hers, it was always nice to hear people praise her anent her victories. Her cheeks turned a faint shade of pink and she took Alan's hand, shaking it as he introduced himself.

“Nice to meet you Alan.”

"You t-two are cousins?"

This wasn't the first time Ariana had recieved this remark, therefore nowadays it was something to joke about, she liked to confuse people while they were on the subject of family; especially since hers could be startlingly confusing at times.

“Unfortunately, yes.” She grinned jokingly, although before she could elaborate, her ears were greeted with another slightly familiar voice.

"Hi. I'm Ivy. Do you mind if I stick around a little bit?"

She turned, a smile adorning her face as she addressed the newcomer. “Hello Ivy, I'm Ariana. Nice to properly meet you.” The girl wasn't too unfamiliar, come to think of it; she was a fellow quidditch player, a keeper on the team to be precise.

A few other people showed up and Ariana offered a wave in greeting sending the unfamiliar faces her signature smile.

"Ari, you should try the hot chocolate, it's amazing! There are so many different flavours!"

Ariana was glad Lydia seemed a little happier now and her concern subsided a little, although she didn't let go of it completely. She stumbled over her thoughts, in her rush, she had completely forgotten to snatch a warm drink from the table of refreshments. Since Lydia patently knew her love for sweet things, she thanked the girl brightly, “Oh yes I almost forgot. Thanks Lyd, I'll go and get one now.” The other girls seemed to be chatting with one another and so turning to Ivy, Ariana motioned for her teammate to join her, offering a kind smile, “Ivy would you like to come?”

Lizzie grinned and stood up to run off with Cassie before something caught her eye. A girl she particularly didn’t like was talking with him. Someone she thought she had liked but had actually confused herself. She still had yet to decide whether to act on it or just keep it all a secret to herself.

The girl slowly stopped and turned to Cassie, “Hey, I don’t want to disappoint you but...” Lizzie rubbed her stomach and then looked over to the small group again, “I actually aren’t feeling to well.” She sat down where she was stood not caring if anyone saw her.

She sighed and brought her hand up to her head rubbing it while caressing her stomach. Lizzie was not joking that she felt ill. She had no idea what had brought it in though. Just a few minutes before she had been full of life and happy about everything.

I... I need to go.” Lizzie stood up quickly, patting her friends head before rushing over to the door. The Ravenclaw looked back at Zyk and thought it would be best to tell him she was leaving before he thought she had ditched him.

She run over and proportioned herself in front of him, “I’m sorry Zykeal. I must be going.” She looked over to the door and sighed, “I myself no longer feel up to doing whatever I was going to do.” She honestly did remember what she had planned with Cassie but that information was not relevant at that moment in time.

She smiled at him weakly before continuing, “I hope we can speak again soon.” Lizzie patted his head as well before walking over to the door as fast as lighting and running out of the room. She knew it was rude to run out on a planned event but the Ravenclaw did not want to start throwing up all over the room. That defiantly would be a lot more rude then what she was doing.

Lizzie only hopped Pei would not mind and understand her situation. It wasn’t a good reason to leave. Chocolate could defiantly have cheered her up but anything to make the girl feel less awkward to make the writer has less replies would suit her best.

Hanako didn't respond immediately. Maybe he was speechless from the announcement that Percival just made. But that was a little much, wasn't it? Opeila was no big fan of Hanako, the boy with the fake love letter, but what did it matter? If he was Percival's friend, there must be some good sides and Opeila had no reason to hold a grudge against Hanako.
Unless he would look that disbelieving any longer. It was almost offending, was it so unimaginable that Percival liked her and she liked him back? This boy didn't even know her.

Hanako seemed to realize how awkward he was behaving, he shook his head and a grin appeared on his face. He asked Percival if that was his way to tell him that he shouldn't mess with Opeila and... then shamelessly told her that Percival had practiced to ask her out in front of a mirror. Opeila winced lightly. Not because of what Hanako told her, after all Opeila had not been any less awkward and insecure about that, but because he dared to tell her that. What gave him the right? Suddenly Opeila did not trust Percival's sense of judgement that much anymore. How could someone, who made so inappropriate comments about things that were not his business at all in public, be his friend?

Opeila sent Hanako a rather cold smile. "The pleasure is mine. I couldn't wait to meet the guy that likes to make inappropriate comments about other people's private life and knows how to behave like an arse to his friends." She nodded. If he wanted to give her reasons to dislike him, he was doing a great job.
And he still had the nerves to ask Percival to get them hot chocolate, so he could tell Opeila some stories. Likely some that Percival would not want her to know. Or how about you shut your mouth, I blast you through the door and lock it up... Percival seemed as embarassed as she did when she tried to put herself in his position, she really felt sorry for him. For a moment it seemed like Percival was going to say no to Hanako, but then he agreed and went to get some hot chocolate. Opeila started to get an image what this friendship looked like.

He was pleasantly surprised to have Percival do as he’s told with an added smile. Was he that excited to grab drinks? Hanako was certain he’d at least gruff with that short annoyance face of his. That face that quickly morphed into a smile that undeniably caught Hanako a bit off guard as well, his eyes widened for a second at the scene. Was it because he described himself as a friend to Percival? Surely, that wasn’t it. Course, Hanako wasn’t the ‘verbally expressive’ sort of guy and he may have never claimed himself a ‘ friend’ to anyone but Lei Liu. Did Percival perhaps..wish to be Hanako’s friend? He didn’t understand why ‘Friend’ was a better term to use than ‘Ally’. It was basically the same time except they don’t share secrets and giggling over their new crush. If it was that easy to make Rainwood do something, maybe if needed- he’d use another opportunity to call him a Fri- shocked at where his train of thought was going, a jolt of disgust rushed through him. Just where was he going with that idea? He didn’t have time to dwell on that as Opeila had already opened her mouth and fired a sassy response at Hanako’s previous actions.

Psffftt-” he then without warning hastily ruffled the top of her hair “ Ohhhh~ silly silly funny Peepee~” he joked in a high pitched tone- like she was a mere child he could never take seriously. “ You just don’t know…” his playful tone trailed off as he watched Percival getting further from them, enough not to hear their conversation. Once the coast was clear- his demeanor quickly took an opposite turn. His smile faded as he took back his hand. Warm brown eyes, although still held their playful demeanor there was a twinge of seriousness in them- as if he was done playing nice. “ ..know when to shut up..” He finished, a coldly amused smile on his face as he looked at Rainwoods new girlfriend.

'Not for long' a sweet voice echoed in his head.

Isn’t that how we met, before? Because you couldn’t shut up~? “ Eager to see her reaction, he may have leaned in slightly towards the girl. It wasn’t every day that someone annoyed him enough that he decided to take them seriously. Well, as much serious as Hanako could ever muster in the beginning of course. “What a tiny world we live in...who would’ve thought the girl who got caught in an embarrassing situation would become Rainwoods girlfriend~ Although, it doesn’t seem like you seem to be in the mood for some reminiscing~. Let’s go back to that previous statement you made about how I treat my friends..” he made a fake deep thinking face.

Ah ~, inappropriate comments and behaving like an arse? Really? Was that is..or do you just don’t have enough friends to understand that it was a mere banter between two - simple-minded- fun loving- free flying - boys? “. The words at the end came out harsher than he intended- but he moved on. His anger hasn’t dissipated of course. “ And arse personality? I believe that’s already part of my brand, Darling. Something your loving boyfriend Percival certainly didn’t mind. Did you see how much he smiled when I called him a friend? “ He glanced at Percival- talking to a shy looking stranger. “ Yea, see because that’s what happens when you’ve been through a lot together you see. Many..many things. “

As if to taunt her further, he patted her shoulders- a proud grin on his face as he turned back to her. “ My point? “ He gave out a fake laugh and leaned dangerously close to her ear and whispered seriously.“ You two aren’t going to last~ “. He whispered before his smile returned. He pulled back before she could decide to slap him. " And that's my gift to you, Opeila Seilun. From a friend to the girlfriend of a friend. You're welcome, Peepee~." He sickeningly smiled, as if he was positive it was a nice gift to give. If you could call it a gift at all. You can thank me by breaking up with him gently. Like a flower getting crushed for its powder in Potions. You're good at potions, right?"

Someone had to hit reality in her head. And who better than Hanako Tone?

He... dared to ruffle her hair. He actually had the impudence to ruffle her hair and then call her silly. The slight anger that had been on Opeila's face before faded, leaving an emotionless expression behind. Hanako was provoking her and Opeila would not do him the favour and react angry or upset. Then he called her Peepee- That was even worse than Pei, the nickname that Mildred had first given her and now May Moonstar as well... They were in the same house, did the Hufflepuff girls just in general refer to her as Pei? The thought was frightening somehow.
"It is Opeila, thank you very much.", she said calmly before rearranging her hair. "And I'd prefer if you kept your hands to yourself."

He started about how she didn't know when to shut up. Reminded her of the situation he pretty much saved her from... in his very own way. Went back to his behaviour towards Percival and called it friendly banter. "Right, how stupid of me. I forgot how funny and friendly it is when personal, maybe even embarassing information gets spilled. Absolutely hilarious.", was all she had to say to that. If Hanako really saw this as friendly, he certainly had no idea about friendship. He asked her if she didn't see his smile when he called him a friend. "Just as clearly as the annoyance when you bursted out with private info." The longer tshe talked to Hanako, the more she got the impression that something quite unhealthy was going on with the two boys. Friendship didn't look like that.

She crossed her arms when he told her that they wouldn't last for long. Demanded she broke up with him. Well this was a rather interesting turn. "Jealous, Tone?" Maybe this was her turn to taunt him a little.
