The masterpiece before them had been quite plain on the outside and had promised a plain rooming experience. There was no magnificence, no elegance and no greatness shown on the outside. Furthermore, their tent had been the tiniest in the proximity. All the other tents in the environment had been the standard wizard tents, all with different prominent features. Their residence had only stood out because of the ordinariness of it all. A standard wizard royal red graced the outside. The only diversity seen from the outside was the tent flap. As the sun hit the silver linings of the tent flap, it reflected as if it was a mirror, a magical mirror perhaps. A promise of mystery awaited those that dared to enter.

The group stood just inside the tent flap, giving them a magnificent view of the room before them. The masterpiece, as suggested earlier, was one made with a multitude of colours and soft fabrics. Royal colours surrounded them all-around and embraced them, filling them with contentment and a feeling of belonging. It would be their headquarters for the summer after all. A summer where every desire could be fulfilled.

The inside of the tent had been enlarged, as all magical tents were. The atmosphere was one of an Arabic dream, a room for sultans and royals. It had been a tent Rosalind her parents were gifted after a well-placed deal with an Arabic prince and after declaring that she should stay at school for her own protection, her mother had offered the tent as a consolation prize. All parents had been informed of their children’s summer activities as permission was needed to participate in the summer festival.

As they sauntered in, the grandness of it all was revealed. The lounge itself was filled with colours upon colours. Cushions and chairs filled the salon, all surrounding a cosy fireplace centred in the middle, the sides protected by fire extinguishing wards. Further on, the walls of fabric divided in multiple rooms, all with their own design. The walls had a surprising firmness upon them, as they were strengthened and warded with multiple professional spells. In total their residence included two dormitories, a salon, a kitchen and dining room, two bathrooms and a room for shenanigans.
This lounge would be their residence for the summer. A place where friendships could be forged and strengthened, a place where adventures could be planned or where mischief could take place.
The future was theirs to decide. Let’s hope they took every opportunity that was thrown at them.

Rose walked into the tent.
The first thing she had noticed on the outside was the polar opposite of what she noticed on the inside. The tent seemed modest on the outside, but what it was lacking in exterior, it definitely made up for on the inside: flair.
She didn't see anyone as she marveled at the designing, but she was sure they would show up.
"Woah..." she whispered to herself in awe. They had really outdone themselves, whoever had decorated this place. She thought the tent belonged to someone called... Rosalind? But she wasn't sure.
She kept reminding herself to make a good impression and thank these nice people for letting her stay in their (amazing) tent.
Her curly amber hair was down since she had had no idea what kind of braid she wanted tonight.
Rose really hoped these people were nice, otherwise she doubted she would make it through these twenty days. They had invited her, a total stranger, to stay in their tent with them, so she doubted they were mean.
Her friend, Aurelia Roberts was also going to be here, something she was really looking forward to. Aurelia was really nice, so she could depend on that, at least.
"Hello?"

Aurelia rushed towards the tents. Which one was hers again? She hoped she wasn't late, but she had this feeling in her gut telling her otherwise. She didn't know anyone except her friend Rose Moon, and the nerves were getting to her. Finally, she found the tent. She wasn't sure what to expect since she didn't know these people but from the outside, the tent looked quite plain and simple. Urgh, she should have just been early to the train maybe then she would've found Rose so they could go together. Aurelia hated feeling alone, she was most comfortable surrounded by friends.

Enough waiting, Auri lept inside with her trunk in one hand and her wand in the other. You could never be sure. Her jaw dropped to the floor and Aurelia quickly shoved her wand in her pocket. There was a beautiful array of colours, filling up every inch of space in the tent. Aurelia suddenly felt like a princess, who lived in a beautiful magical castle. It was huge too! Aurelia knew that the tents would be enlarged, she knew that from home but still... it was huugee! Before her was a group of students already gathered in the tent. So she had been late- dammit! "Oh, Hi everyone!"

Happily, Aurelia looked around in the room before noticing a familiar red-headed girl. "Rose! Iiehhh!", with her hair flowing behind her, Aurelia sprinted towards the girl and embraced her in a tight hug. "Isn't it beautiful?", her gaze wandered the tent, everything seemed unreal, too beautiful to be true. After a quick exchange with the others, she headed towards the sleeping quarters and let her stuff fall next to a beautiful oriental-ish bed. After a sec, she crept back to all the people and introduced herself. "So, I'm Aurelia Roberts or just Auri... It's nice to meet you all!"

Yesterday was the last day of Hogwarts for Layla as a first year yet Layla wasn’t even feeling sad about it. In fact, she was so excited and nervous she didn’t even close an eye to get any sleep last night. Today was going to be the first day of summer camp! Layla had no idea how her tent was going to look like nor did she know anyone from her tent except for Neculai. She already spoke to him a few times so she knew him a little bit but not that much. However, Layla had no social anxiety so she didn’t hesitate to go. She was always down to meet new friends!

As the sun started to rise and the birds starting to chirp, Layla could tell this was going to be a beautiful day! She grabbed her two suitcases and she was ready to go. Layla then started to think if two suitcases won’t be too much. She had no intention in looking like the rich kid who’s a spoiled little brat. Layla came from a wealthy family from Scotland and she was always worried what other people might think about Layla. She didn’t want to be that rich kid who doesn’t care about others. Layla was a well-behaved girl and she only had good intentions. The only reason why she had two suitcases was because one of the suitcases were already filled with all her wizards belongings. She packed all of her books she couldn’t finish during the school year because she was planning on finishing them during summer. Layla loved to read. Then of course she brought her wand, her uniform and her glasses. Layla secretly also brought her chocolate frogs with her. She was so proud she had them! So that suitcase was already packed. It even took so much space, it was hard to close. She literally had to stand on the suitcase to zip it. Layla quickly figured she needed a second suitcase for all of her other stuff.

Layla was now standing in front of the tent while holding her two suitcases in each one of her hands. It wasn’t particularly hard to find this tent because... well... it’s the smallest tent out of all the other ones! Layla’s worst case scenario was that she would end up in a wrong tent. Fortunately that didn’t happen! Layla was happy her tent was small. It was easy to find.

As she was entering the tent, Layla noticed a couple members of the group were already standing in the tent. They were all so welcoming and sweet. Layla hadn’t noticed Neculai yet but she did see three other girls over there. Layla wanted to say hi but her eyes were literally all over the place, she didn’t know where to look. Her pupils grew bigger and Layla made a gaspingly sound.“Holy moly!” Layla shouted. She felt like she was on holidays. That is how beautiful the tent looked. It had so many white and fluffy cuchions, Layla couldn’t help but touch them. They felt so soft. This tent had such a warm interior with beautiful colours and it even had a huge fire place in the middle of the center, it was like a dream come true. Layla already imagined sitting in front of the fire place with the others while telling stories to one another, having a drink, eating marshmallows with lots of laughter. Layla took it all in. She felt like she was in paradise.

As she came back to reality, Layla suddenly realised she didn’t say hi yet! “Hello, everyone! Nice to meet you all. My name is Layla. Can I just say this tent is really astonishing. I’d even call it a magical paradise!” Layla smiled friendly to the other group members. She knew she was going to have an amazing time with these wizards and witches. Let the summer camp festivities begin!

While she was marveling at the interior of the beautiful tent, Rose was hug-attacked by Aurelia, one of her friends. Hugging her back, Rose exclaimed, "Hi, Auri! How are you? It's so good to see you here, I didn't see you on the way here..." A grin was growing on her face. She was so glad Auri was here, making at least one person she already knew was here.
Seeing the next person walk in, who introduced herself as Layla, Rose answered, "Oh, hi. I'm Rose Moon. It's nice to meet you. Thanks for letting Auri and me tent with you guys, by the way," she added sincerely. Her voice was soft and sweet and Rose had an American accent as she talked. "You're right, it is so beautiful in here. Who in the world had enough money and fashion sense to have decorated this place? It's just so amazing, well, it's... Well, it's a magical paradise, no kidding." She smiled. Angling herself at Layla the enthusiast, Rose decided to get to know her a little better, and asked her, "What house are you in, Layla? That's a beautiful name, by the way." It really was a beautiful name. It sounded very common in her mouth, but once she thought about it, she realized it really was very beautiful.

Layla had a huge smile on her face when she introduced herself to the other witches. She was in such a good mood she couldn’t hide it anymore! As Layla strolled further along in the tent, she saw two girls in front of her hugging each other, Layla could tell they were already friends before this summer camp. One of the girls actually spoke back at Layla.

"Oh, hi. I'm Rose Moon. It's nice to meet you. Thanks for letting Auri and me tent with you guys, by the way,"

Hey Rose! Nice to meet you too in this wonderful tent! Of course you and Auri are welcome to stay here. But that’s because Rosalind arranged this though. So we can all thank Rosalind for letting us stay in her tent! Layla grinned.

Yesterday Layla felt anxious to go on summer camp because she didn’t know anyone yet. But now that she entered the tent and actually introduced herself to the other members, her anxiety had suddenly dissapeared. Mainly because the other members were really friendly. Layla had nothing to worry about, she knew she was going to have a great time with them. Who knows they might could turn into great friends when school starts again! But that’s something for later. Layla is planning on being carefree here while enjoying this summer camp. Her worries about school can wait.

"You're right, it is so beautiful in here. Who in the world had enough money and fashion sense to have decorated this place? It's just so amazing, well, it's... Well, it's a magical paradise, no kidding."

Layla nodded at Rose when she talked about the tent. Layla had wondered as well who could even buy all these beautiful furniture and that huge fire place!

"What house are you in, Layla? That's a beautiful name, by the way."

Layla could feel her cheecks turning red like a tomatoe. It was always nice to get a compliment, especially on her name. “Thank you Rose for the compliment! That’s really nice of you. My parents picked that name because that’s what my grandma was called. Unfortunately I’ve never met my grandma because she died when my mom was pregnant with me. So that’s why they gave me my grandma’s name and I couldn’t be more proud of it! So your compliment means a lot to me.” Layla smiled big.

“I’m a proud and overly enthousiastic Hufflepuff by the way! What house are you in?”

Layla turned her head over to Auri to ask her the same question. “What about you Auri?”

“Also what year are you guys in? I’m a first year and I’m very proud to announce I’m going to be a second year when school starts again!” “Do you guys have any hobbies? Anything you like to do at summer camp?” Now Layla thought by herself she should stop talking because otherwise she would be the girl who asks too many questions. Layla grinned. “I’m sorry to bombard you guys with questions” Layla isn’t trying to meddle into their lives but she is just very eager to meet new friends. “Curiousity just gets the best of me sometimes!”

"Yeah, true. Whenever we see this Rosalind, she is most definitely going to get bombarded by compliments about her tent... And good reason, too," Rose replied to Layla.
Layla told Rose that she had gotten her name from her grandma that she had never met and it meant a lot to her. Rose smiled at the interesting backstory. She didn't mind people who rambled, as long as they let her talk, and Layla was letting her talk. "Oh, I'm glad. When my dad first saw me, he thought of a rose, and he would always say that he and I were roses in our family of daisies. Not anything interesting like your name, but still something worth hearing, I guess," Rose shared, happy to reminisce about her dad. "What about you, Auri? Where did your name come from?"
Enthusiastic Hufflepuff. Those two words pretty much summed up what Rose could tell about Layla so far.
"I am a Gryffindor," Rose answered. "And going to be a second year in the fall, like you. We should really do something together once we go back to school, that might be fun,"
HINT HINT WINK WINK
Rose was urged to say that same thing about Auri, but she decided she could introduce and answer herself. She wasn't leaving Auri out in any way, but didn't want to say anything about her."As for hobbies, I like reading... And Quidditch. Auri and I are really excited for the match," Rose shared an excited glance with Auri. "It's a strange thing to mention, buy I like doing hair... And my grandma taught me how to knit, croquet and cross-stitch, so I so that sometimes." The redhead shrugged. Her voice definitely had a friendly tone as she talked. "Other than that, nothing much. What about you guys?" She tilted her head a little and added, a little hint of joking in her eyes and voice, "That's okay, I'm used to multitasking."

Aurelia was a bit overwhelmed as another girl entered. She introduced herself as Layla, and said that she was a Hufflepuff. Rose and Layla talked about their names and Aurelia shared her name story: "Well, my name means golden and I suppose my parents thought I was... they said that I started smiling when I was born and that apparently I made their life much more golden", Aurelia rolled her eyes, her parents could be a bit embarrassing. "I honestly don't know why they couldn't have given me a more common name, my brothers are called Jack and Ben", and she added, "Oh, I'm a proud Gryffindor like Rose"

She agreed that they should do something together in their next year when they would all be second-years. It's crazy that Aurelia had already been at Hogwarts for one whole year, she still had so much to get used to and so much to explore. She thought about her hobbies and listened to Rose: "Yes, Rose and I love Quidditch, I also like painting". She raised her eyebrows at Rose liking to do hair. Excitedly she said: "You should do our hair! That's a good idea for tonight!" Happily, she thought about hair ideas. Maybe a nice braid, or bun... so many options that she had to think about.

"Which bed are you guys choosing?", she pointed towards the sleeping quarters. Where her trunk was already placed next to a bed. She wondered if any of the other guys would introduce themselves or if she would have to go up to them.

Golden. Aurelia means golden. "Your name is fitting, Auri. You add a little gold to everyone's life," Rose said, serious. "Plus, you are a Gryff. I like my name, but... I don't know... I kind of wish my name was a little less common... I mean... Rose. So many girls have the name Rose. I wish my name was some thing unique like... Aurelia or something."
She felt really guilty for saying that for some reason. Was it because her dad had named her that? It wasn't that she didn't like or miss her dad, she just wished he had named her something else. Thinking about it made her even more guilty for some reason.
At Auri's exclamation that she should do their hair, Rose blushed a little pink and she replied, "Sure, I will. You guys can start thinking about what you want."
Rose chose the bed next to Auri's, putting her trunk there. "I'll have this one, I guess." She had a feeling she would either sleep really well tonight because of the fancy bed or not well at all because of the other people staying up or something. She guessed if that happened, she could just block them out and ignore them.

Rosalind huffed as the summer warmth fell on her shoulders, almost temporarily slowing her stride. She hastily looked left and right before crossing the pathway. Better be safe than sorry, she supposed. A flustered grin shot across her features when she recalled what happened only moments before.
Her port key adventure had been horrendous. The second before her designated transport activated, the student noticed the strap of her sandal had come loose. That’s why she let go of the classmate next to her and tried to one-handily fix her sandal. Of course, that was when the footwear, posing as the portkey went off, ironically causing her to lose her grip on her sandal. And her composure... Not only had she been left to rot at this supposed summer camp, because her parents wanted her ‘safe and sound’, but she had also given the bystanders a splendid show. Her landing was one of the few to remember. Her grip had just been enough to take the offending sandal with them on their journey. Sky rocking it towards another unsuspecting student and hitting them right in the back of the head. After a quick apology, the Veela went on her way.

Thoughts of the traditional welcome home festivities flashed through her mind. She sighed reluctantly, she was stuck here. There would be no family gathering, no laughing uncles, no motorcycles rides and most of all… She wouldn’t be able to break character for a few moments. No frolicking around with her countless unrelated ‘cousins’. No roughhousing each other. No, she was supposed to be the perfect school girl. A perfect ally.

Apparently, at home, there were some ‘funny business’ going on and they didn’t want her there. How was she supposed to learn their profession, if she was stashed away when things got real. Fine, as an eleven-year-old, she wasn’t any help and she understood her parents' motifs. But still… summer camp. If there had been a muggle camera, the Veela would look right into it and raise an elegant eyebrow, mouthing seriously and arching her eyebrow even higher.

The Veela had indeed arrived at the destinated spot. Her parents' tents stood proudly in between the other magical wizard tents. But after a quick inspection, it became clear that not many students had settled in already. None were waiting outside the tent it seemed. With quick determination, she raced for the tent flaps. But then something happened. The silver-haired beauty walked inside and caught unto something, it almost felt as if she ran into a doorpost, but it wasn’t that…

As always Rosalind was fashionably late, even if her she literary owned the meeting place.
