Resolving It All
Jessica remained silent in the courtyard at Hogwarts, holding her hands tightly together as she reflected on the argument she had with Laura. She was still upset about the way Laura had acted; during the argument Laura had been unusually angry, raising her voice and speaking sharply, and Jessica had not known what to say in reply.
She took a slow breath and looked about the quiet courtyard. She hoped that the argument had never taken place. Although she knew that Laura was likely also upset, Jessica felt that her own emotions had been ignored.
She looked down and sighed, since she didn't want to stay angry with her friend but at the same time doesn't want to feign that Laura's behaviour had not affected her.
She thought about whether or not to talk to Laura once more; one part of her desired to wait until Laura had calmed down, whereas another part of her wanted to sort everything out right away.
Jessica wiped the tears that were collecting in her eyes and then took another deep breath.
But although she was angry I didn't want a single argument to spoil our friendship, she thought.
She got slowly standing up from the bench, hoping that the next time they spoke both of them would be able to stay calm and understand each other's feelings.

Resolving It All
Laura walked through the corridor to the courtyard outside. She just needed to relax. Excpelly after her fight. When she got outside she saw Jessica on a bench alone for one moment she wanted to go and say hi but then she thought better of it. Laura steered well away from the bench where Jessica was sitting and went to a table. She wanted to do her homework cause today they had got especially much homework and it was really hard. All the essays and things she could not remember after like an hour. Mostly she would have gone to the library but today she needed the birds chirping and the wind and the leaves rustling. She sat down and started on her potions questions they were kinda easy they had just learnt the antidote to common and uncommon poisons. She still needed to write the essay about those 2 potions. She finished the questions quite quickly and moved on to her other homework questions. Then she looked up and saw Jessica wiping away some tears. Laura felt kinda sorry for her. So she stood up and walked towards her friend. " Hey Jessica I am really sorry about blaming you this morning I was just really shocked and angry about the howler I know you were just trying to help and comfort me."

Resolving It All
When Jessica looked up at Laura she was surprised to find that she had really come over to have a conversation with her. For a moment she didn't know what to say and then quickly wiped the tears that were still in her eyes before giving Laura a small, uncertain smile.
βIt's all right, Laura,β she said in a soft voice. βI can see that you were shocked and angry because of the Howler; I know it must have been upsetting for you and I never wanted to make the situation worse.β
For a moment she looked down at her hands.
βI have to admit that the way you spoke to me really wounded me,β she said honestly. βI was only attempting to help you since you are my friend. When you blamed me and raised your voice, it seemed as though you didnβt appreciate the fact that I was trying to support you.β
Before looking back at Laura, Jessica took a deep breath.
I was also angry, but I donβt want this argument to damage our friendship since you mean too much to me for that.
She slowly rose from the bench and gave Laura a warmer smile.
Perhaps it was because we were upset that we each said something. We ought to have a calm discussion and attempt to understand one another.
Jessica noticed that some of the heaviness in her heart was starting to fade.
"Shall we go to the Hogsmeade together?" asked Jessica with a smile.
