_____Millie unintentionally set her foot into Duelling Club today. Not sure what she was thinking after one day she facing that wicked snakey girl days prior in this very place and the result not exactly was her best attempt. She huffed, looking around the room which strangely dead with no other soul but her. However, Millie just shrugged it off, maybe they'll come later since it still early to do some physical magical training.
_____And to be perfectly honest, the girl won't be coming here not until her underclassmen asking for her to witnessing their little training. Don't blame Millie if her first reaction was looking at them wide eyes. Two first years, just accepted here for two or three weeks? That was quite high spirit for them, Millie admitted that. Didn't want to let them down, Millie comply their request ... and here she goes now, put an act like a generous upperclassman to helps her cute juniors tests some spell they had learnt.
_____So here she waits, setting some comfortable place in the little to the side of the corner of the room for herself so she can watch in peace without worry she will be the one who become a target. She sat there, loosen her collar robe a little, and puts some sweets she brought secretly inside her pocket into her mouth.

When Xio discovered that the Duelist sign-ups were already full, disappointment weighed heavily on her—but not enough to stop her. She submitted her application anyway, hoping that a last-minute opening might appear. As fate would have it, she soon ran into Atlas, who was also applying. Xio’s disappointment vanished at once, replaced by an infectious spark of excitement. Without hesitation, she challenged him to a duel.

It was admittedly rather unfair of her to challenge him and then task him with finding someone responsible enough to ensure they didn’t accidentally kill each other. Still, Atlas was a reliable friend—and, as a pleasant byproduct, his involvement left Xio positively thrilled. Once she had secured her place in the Dueling Club, Xio hurried over to the dueling area and waved enthusiastically at Millie, the upperclassman who had so graciously sacrificed her time to keep the two overexcited fledglings from setting each other ablaze.

Hi, Millie! Thank you for hosting this again for us!” Xio called, her grin widening as she stepped closer. Then she turned toward Atlas, eyes shining with anticipation. “And Atlas—I hope you’re ready for this!

Her words carried all the force of a formal declaration of war. With renewed determination, Xio removed her robe and tossed it onto a nearby bench. She rolled up her sleeves, adjusted her stance, and climbed onto the dueling podium. Once there, she squared her shoulders and raised her chin, looking every inch the confident duelist—even if the barely contained excitement in her expression suggested she was having far too much fun already.

For once, Xio hadn't dragged him by ear to some place he had no business being at. When she had challenged him to this duel, his first impulse was to politely decline, sure that she'd smite him into a thousand pieces. Perhaps it was the thrill of standing on the duelling stage that was so irresistible, but he found himself nodding enthusiastically.

During the previous weeks, Atlas had immersed himself into a multitude of books, some containing knowledge taught beyond his year. He'd learned nothing too crazy, of course, but he was sure to have a few tricks up his sleeve. That was something he avoided mentioning to Xio. His odds already weren't so great, considering his background was completely devoid of magic, so he'd take any advantage he could get.

Atlas entered the heavy oak doors only a few strides after Xio, eyes immediately falling onto Millie, the girl who'd be supervising their little battle. The boy gave the upperclasswoman a polite smile followed by a small nod, before making his way onto the duelling podium. He imagined there were at least a million better ways to spend a Sunday morning as opposed to watching first years' pathetic attempts at hexing one another, but she had agreed to it, nonetheless.

"And Atlas—I hope you’re ready for this!" boomed the voice of the typical, loud and overconfident Xio Arcana. Her words echoed across the empty room, triumphant as if she already won.

Though he'd grown to tolerate Xio's presence, not that he had a choice, irritation plagued him whenever she came crashing into his peaceful life. The girl was the textbook definition of chaos, personified.

Of course, none of those thoughts reached his face. Atlas smiled, one more playful than he'd ever smiled in his life and meant to match hers. "No need to hope, Xio."

_____Looking at how eager the two first-years before her about their first duel, Millie then begin their match without any further do. The girl named Arcana started it first, as fiery as she is even when she opened the door of this room. Opening this session with Incendio as she pointed her wand toward the boy. It hit just right! Aflame in front of their eyes. Widen her eyes, Millie straighten her back, carefully checking her opponent's condition if anytime he will collapse. But thank goodness, he's fine. Poor him. In his very session already fired up by Arcana although his dodge pretty good enough in Millie's watching eyes.
_____Now time for the boy, Woodrow, to show his claw. He released Flipendo out of his wand, the most likely favourite spell for first and second years to used. But, oof, he missed it. Arcana dodges it just in perfectly time, makes the jinx only hit the poor wall just a few distance from where Millie watched them. The older girl unconsciously shifts her position farther toward the centre of the room, still remembering the old wounds she have had with the exact same spell a moment prior.
_____"Alright, guys, that's for round one! Excellent!" Millie stood up, smiling at Arcana and glanced warily at Woodrow, "You okay? Still good for the next round?"

As the Knockback Jinx left his wand, he felt a warm sensation throbbing at his chest and back.

He was aflame.

Spells didn't move that fast. Or at least, he didn't think they did. Xio probably knew better, since she was clearly the experienced one here. She also remained standing much to Atlas' disdain—his Knockback Jinx had missed.

Déjà vu clouded his head. Memories of water balloon fights every summer and snowball fights during winters, where he'd always end up drenched in water or snow. He'd forgotten how awful he was at dodging anything coming from less than a mile away. Perhaps that's what built him such a high pain tolerance. If every spell from Xio's wand was destined to hit him, so be it. It'll take more than a little flame to take him down.

Speaking of that "little" flame, he winced as fresh burns began to repeatedly stab at his body.

"You okay? Still good for the next round?"
Atlas nodded at Millie, refusing to let his face contort out of agony. Then, he positioned himself to face Xio. What is she going to do next? And of course, that question was impossible to answer if one was referring to Miss Xio Arcana.

Chaos personified. He'd thought that of her since he first laid eyes on her. The girl was absolutely unpredictable and Atlas hated it. In the next round, she could set him ablaze again. Or she could hurl a Knockback Jinx of her own and it would hit him square in the chest as if to gloat over his failure to target her properly. Perhaps she'd turn him into an ugly toad for funsies, since she already was the sure winner of this match. He could see Xio doing all three of those things. At the same time, as well.

What am I doing, I don't even know what I'm going to do next...

_____Millie felt a sudden changed of atmosphere around her. Woodrow has become even quieter than before, while the other hand Arcana suddenly switched her personality from overly excited, bubbly girl to serious, full of awareness girl. Furrowing her brow as she was unsure what was just happened between these two, Millie proceeded to the next round anyway, hoping that nothing worse would happen.
_____Woodrow took a first bite now, gripped his wand and pointed it toward his opponent, then threw Rictusempra ahead. Not sure how or when the boy knew that spell since Millie herself just learnt it not long ago, but Millie appraised him inwardly with that secret under his sleeve. And even more surprisingly, it hit Arcana. Not because she forgot to move her body to dodge the spell, but she moved just in the same time as Woodrow's wand flew that tickling charm up to her. If only she moved faster, she would be safe from it. Thus, the room once again boomed by Arcana hysterical laughed voice.
_____Yet, the girl still need to releases her move too. So there she goes, letting out Bullarum Immortalem, a bubble-producing spell as her support moves. Alas, it missed with quite a gap. Maybe because she still in effect with her laughter so her focus was distracted. Or is it just Woodrow taking advantage of his new chance of light although there's still a little remaining of his Incendio wound lingering stubbornly on him. Who knows. Millie couldn't even recognized who is these two anymore.
