ReducioUla has finished her third school year at Hogwarts with two duelling wins under her belt. Of course, was there anything less that she'd expect from herself? Absolutely not; losing was never an option.
Still, she couldn't quite really shake off the feeling of hopelessness she experienced during her last match when her spells missed opponent after opponent. So, she made a promise to herself; she'd find an activity during the summer break that would help her improve her aim. Unfortunately, with the Hogwarts regulation in place that forbids the use of a wand outside of school, she had to resort to a Muggle activity—throwing darts (ah yes, the perfect substitute for wand practice!). The idea seemed stupid at first, but at least it was cute; daddy dearest made sure to get her a set of pink Chanel throwing darts. Because, of course, if the ravenette was going to spend the whole summer throwing sharp objects at a board, she was determined to do it fashionably.
The concept was simple: stand at a set distance, steady your hand, judge the trajectory, and throw. Unfortunately, she had discovered rather quickly that consistently hitting the intended spot was harder than she had initially anticipated. A small adjustment in her stance, the angle of her wrist, the amount of force behind the throw, or even a small lapse of focus resulted not only in her frustration, but in sending the dart several centimeters away from where she wanted it.
Naturally, Ula being Ula, she was determined to master it, determined to improve her accuracy.
By the end of summer, her throws became more consistent and her hand steadier. While the young girl understood that throwing darts wasn't the same as spell work, she actually found herself applauding her new skill that translated well into spellcasting. During Ula's first few practice sessions back at Hogwarts, she noticed that she was holding her wand with more flexibility in her wrist; her spells seemed more deliberate, and she no longer rushed her aim or entirely relied on instincts. She felt more in control of her movements.
With her newfound ability to judge the distance between herself and her target and to adjust her aim accordingly, she felt more confident in herself (and more confident in her upcoming wins). Now only the next few duelling matches of the new school year will tell how much has her accuracy really improved—and whether all those hours spent throwing pink Chanel darts at a board all summer like a mad person would finally pay off.

/pəˈfɛkʃn/
noun
the action or process of improving something until it is faultless.

‘Pawn to d4.’
The ivory-gilded piece slid across the black-and-white chessboard, stopping with a small hiss at the centre. The instructor – a man of average height and build, with sandy hair and grey eyes accentuated by wire-rimmed glasses – responded almost immediately, ordering his pawn to d5.
His opponent, a svelte child with dark hair and pale green eyes, did not hesitate for even a second before responding in kind. ‘Pawn to c4.’
The exchange continued, the gambit having been accepted. The clocks ticked. Each move had to be perfect, and perfectly timed. Otherwise –
‘Check. And mate, in fact,’ stated the girl’s instructor. He rolled his shoulders backwards and stood from his seat. His hands pushed it back to its rightful place beneath the table, and then he extended his right hand towards the girl.
She took his hand in hers and shook it firmly despite the bewilderedness of her gaze. Instead of meeting his eyes, she focused on the board on the table between them. Her eyes narrowed of their own accord, and she scanned each square of black and white. It took too long for the answer, the error, to make itself visible. She should have captured that piece three turns prior. Though only the girl and the instructor were present in the room, her stomach tightened. It was but a miracle that her cheeks did not dust themselves in rose red. This error – this humiliation – could not come to pass again.

Despite day by day of disciplined drills, failure still plagued Livia as she aged. From her numerous social blunders as a youth, to spell backfires at school, she could not seem to practise enough to stop these things from occurring. Even countless nights spent practising spells instead of sleeping did not prevent her own most favourite spell from reversing its fury upon her in the Spring duel versus Hufflepuff. Few sensations existed that trumped the horror of a strike of lightning; however, the embarrassment caused by that lightning being one’s own may have created a far worse experience than necessary.
Whenever Livia struggled, she preferred to do so alone – and, preferably, not for very long. This method, though tried, was not true. More spell backfires followed, followed by more sleepless nights, which, as the girl numbly went to classes and studied, seemed to exacerbate the problem. A lack of sleep resulted in a lack of focus, and not even Livia Machavariani could overcome biology.
She conceded that a healthier approach might be necessary. Duelling prowess could not, perhaps, be conquered as easily as an opponent in chess. The strategy, the movements, all of that was second nature to the spindly Slytherin. The idea that she might have to take care of herself, even fleetingly, to procure success? That was foreign. She had forever lived by the doctrine that to suffer was to learn, and that she would not be able to grow if she did not pursue perfection – by any means necessary – in order to slowly, skillfully craft success.
During the long, rather sweltering months of the summer of 2026, Livia continued to work. During July, this was done with the help of both her family and private tutors. For a month, she tracked the length with which the presence of sleep graced her; she took careful, inked notes of what she ate, of how much, and when. In what would have otherwise been ‘free time’, at least in the mind of her brother or other individuals less prone to perfectionism, Livia pored over textbooks. On occasion, she partook in mock ‘sparring’ matches, learning how to hone accuracy and better think of spells under pressure. Time gave way to minimal success, then increased accuracy. Not once did a stray bolt of lightning turn itself upon its owner. Perfection began to lay prone to production from preparation, so prepared, she would be.

Yet it was hardly a surprise to anyone the degree of detail with which Livia’s duelling notebooks were now filled. Every idiosyncrasy of each incantation had been inscribed indelibly within reams of parchment. The book’s leather had begun to crack and grow soft with use. Upon her return to school come autumn, she would be far better learned, and far more ready to surpass all others.
After all, what else could be expected from a Slytherin with a penchant for performative perfection?

His foot was in really bad shape. The bully wanted to kick his ball very far, putting all his strength into it. But the ball suddently wasn't anymore. A rock took its place. Sifr saw that. He saw the change. It was surreal. A dream. What happend? It terrified him. He completely froze.

As a muggle born, he was fascinated with plant and animal life. While he wasn't always liked by them (mostly due to his nervousness) he was profoundly interested in them. General caretaking of bearded dragons and there breeding tenancies? Not only could he tell you everything you need to know in the matter he would tell you the gender of the reptiles with a simple flashlight. He either knew exactly the answer or had a book or way to find that answer. You need odd breeding habits of a Indonesian animal? He either knew exactly the answer or had a book or way to find that answer. While he typically preferred reptiles he by no means only looked at them. In truth, his favorite animals were the ones that interacted with plants he found interesting. It became a interesting matter to investigate on. Furthermore, he often would find himself out of his shell when given the opportunity to speak or even engage with animals not allowing fear to cloud his opportunity to do something he enjoys. Now, since coming to the wizarding world he has found almost a reverent fascination in magical creatures. In fact dragons have become a particular obsessive interest for him. This is mostly because as a child he often enjoy dressing up with his friends as knights and dragons but, as he would say, dragons are large serpents both literally and by names if the Greeks are to be taken at there word. He has no illusion to himself that these creatures, not merely just dragons, but the vast majority of them have the potential to be incredibly dangerous without the proper respect of dealing with a creature greater, so to speak, then yourself. This however is not off putting to him, it is exciting. The thought of having to manage the intricate behaviors of a hippogriff for example, the thought alone nearly makes him shake with joy. The mere fact alone that he will be given the opportunity to learn on just this in a school capacity? It makes the entire trip here worth it. Thestrals however are one of the creatures he grows sadden by, the unfortunate reality that in order to ever truly encounter and interact with one he will need to see death is... unsettling to him. All and all this ability fits him best (after reading through them all) due to how close it relies to his interests, given the relative freedom to study in there free time as they wish and his general ambitious drive his hobby will become more of a obsessive study very quickly.

It had taken a while for the reality of her situation to set in--all summer, in fact. One after another, she had seen her closest friends embark on their new journeys: first Pericles had received his acceptance letter into to join the ranks of the prestigious Auror Training program; then Dealla. Aly, although her interests and aspirations had taken her in an altogether different direction, had already found employment as a deckhand with the Dralts. Yet Evelynn, who had for seven years considered herself among the top of her peers in terms of academic excellence and personal accomplishment, had not. She had applied to the program at the same time, yet no acceptance letter had been rendered. Weeks went by. Then months. Until finally, at the end of the summer, a letter delivered by a less-than-dignified owl had finally made it into her hands. The contents therein were less than welcome.
Rejection hadn't even been a consideration. There had been no plan B.
Yet there she sat, alone and futureless. With no small amount of consoling by the wizarding (Harper) side of her bloodline, she would eventually pick up the pieces and obtain employment as a Security Guard for the Ministry of Magic. It was a far cry from her vision of serving as an Auror, and in a way, it salted the wound. At the same time, the continued freshness of that failure to advance stoked ambition within her. Embittered, she did what many a cast-aside would do in a similar situation: turn to darker and more forbidden knowledge. If her current accolades were insufficient, she would pursue a higher knowledge, demonstrate to them--and to herself--that they had made a mistake in denying her entry.
Access to the material was hardly an issue. The journey had begun during her years at Hogwarts. Rarely satisfied with the course material, she had frequently visited the Restricted Section of the Library in search of that which would not be taught in class. NEWTs had narrowed her lens of rigid study to examinable material, but now, released from structured education and with a fairly routine day job, she had all the time in the world to spend pouring over her notes. And when notes failed, it wasn't as though she was short on study material.
The convenience of living with the Harpers was the fact that their apartments were located above their bookstore. Gobbledy Books might, to many an observer, appear as an innocent--albeit curiously named--muggle bookstore. Yet, through a secret passage accessed through the 'Employee Bathroom' at the back of the store, lay the wizarding section. While the store wasn't one to carry regular stock of what Hogwarts would have classified as restricted knowledge, Evelynn's relationship with the owners made it such that she could generally place special purchase requests at a whim. And did, funneling much of her employment earnings into a new and growing collection of occasionally questionable tomes.
And so, from the end of the summer forward, much of her time was spent pouring over anything and everything related to the performance and mastering of spells related to Defense Against the Dark Arts or any other magic she perceived as practical in the hands of an Auror attempting to track down, overpower, and contain Dark Wizards. Next year, she promised to herself, there would be no question: the Department of Magical Law Enforcement would accept her into the Auror Training Academy or choke on their tongues.

Dear Miss Evelynn,
Thank you for your application to the Auror Training Program and for attending the recent evaluation session at the Ministry of Magic.
We received an exceptional number of applications from this year’s Hogwarts graduates. The Selection Committee has now completed its review of all candidates, and I regret to inform you that you have not been selected to join the incoming class of 2026.
While your academic record is commendable, competition for the limited training slots is incredibly fierce. The Auror Office requires candidates who meet the absolute highest standards of magical aptitude, defense against the dark arts, and psychological resilience. Unfortunately, your current qualifications do not align with our immediate requirements for the upcoming intake.
We appreciate your enthusiasm and your desire to serve the wizarding community. You are eligible to reapply during the next recruitment cycle, provided you obtain further practical experience or higher marks in your N.E.W.T. examinations.
We wish you...

Describe why this fits your character: WC=645
ReducioThe first time Azzure ever heard the word blind was at 3 years old. He sat in the coldness of the sterile hospital room, the harsh fluorescent lights blurring the edges of his vision. Azz can still clearly remember those words. Back then Azzure was too young to understand what that truly meant –– no kid is born being told how to live in a world where beauty and sights would be ripped away from them and yet Azz had no choice but to.
He grew up cursing the eyes he saw in the mirror, his skin — pale as paper — and in the darkness of the night when his vision finally cleared, he'd lie awake wondering if other people had to shy from the light too.
Only when Azzure was sent to live with her mom's friend before his first year in Hogwart, did Azz begin to understand that he was fundamentally different. Those years, Azzure learned other people don't feel like the sun is burning their corneas. Azzure learned then that being albino — being blind meant isolation, meant never being able to connect with people like a normal kid would.
That feeling of isolation only grew when Azz entered Hogwarts. For a long time, it was hard to adjust, he wasn't used to that many people around him, everyday felt like he was getting scolded or something wrong was happening. But as the years went by Azzure's eyesight just kept getting worse until the summer going into his third year when it got to the point where Azz's eyesight got too bad for even the highest grade of glasses to fix it.
Now as Azz entered into his third year, shades required to keeo his eyes from burning in the sunlight, Azzure was thrusting into a blur of motion and a monochromatic insipid of a world he'd could no longer experience in full color. After getting the news that from now on his eyesight will get worse and worse until finally the world went dark –– Azzure started learning braille.
At first it was hard and it was a lot of funbling — with no one to teach him and no one to relate to, Azzure felt more alone than ever. Suddenly not being able to read felt dehumanizing, but more than that, not being able to see the paintings that he'd spent countless hours on crushed him. As the weeks past, Azzure got more confident in his ability to read, and it was during this period of time when Azz realised that without the ability to see, his other senses heightened. Now, the sound of rustling leaves, the rush of water, the tweeting of birds, even the sound of his cat –– Blodwyn walking around sounded like thumping in his ears.
At first it was disorientating, every sound, even if it was from across the room rang loud and clear for him. But his hearing isn't the only thing that felt more prominent, his sense of touch also got more intense. Whenever Azz would touch his broom, he would feel every groove, each twist and twirl of the wood during the manufacturing process of the broom, when placing his hands on paper, Azz could feel every bump and inconsistency in even the smoothest paper, leaves felt like maps, and walls felt like rough sand paper under his skin. And although the changes were vast, over time Azzure came to appreciate how this had allowed him to see the world through a different perspective. He could hear the sound of nature, and listen to their pleas, and he could sit in the silence of the night and hear the crickets and the grasshoppers keep him company.
So although Azzure Solace no longer had the ability to see, it was okay because he gained a new ability — the ability to feel.

Jessica is a perfect illustration of the ability called Fearless. It does not mean that a person never feels afraid; on the contrary, it means that one has the courage to face difficult situations, challenges, and uncertainty without allowing fear to control their actions. It is Jessica's character, her attitude, and her determination that account for why this ability is so well suited to her.
One of the most noticeable aspects of Jessica's personality is her courage; she is willing to take action even when a situation seems difficult or intimidating. Instead of retreating immediately when confronted with a challenge, she makes the effort to understand the situation and find a way of dealing with it. This is the reason why 'Fearless' is an appropriate ability, as it reflects her readiness to face problems directly.
Jessica is also very determined; when she has decided that something is important to her, she does not easily give up. Even though there are occasions when things do not turn out as hoped for, she continues to try rather than allowing failure to affect her. This persistence is a vital part of what it means to be fearless. True courage does not consist in always succeeding; it is about having the strength to carry on after having faced setbacks.
Jessica is suitable for Fearless because she is ready to stand up for what she believes to be right. It is usually easier when difficulties arise to remain silent or simply follow what the rest of people are doing. Unlike this, Jessica is capable of stating her opinions and defending her decisions. She understands that at certain times doing the right thing requires confidence and courage. The fact that she remains firm when under pressure proves that she has the spirit of Fearless.
The boldness of Jessica's character is also shown in the way she handles new experiences; instead of being completely put off by uncertainty, she is prepared to take risks, learn from what happens to her, and grow as a result. With each new challenge she has she gets stronger and more confident. This adventurous and determined attitude shows that Fearless is more than just a special ability—it expresses a part of who she is.
Nothing less than the fact that Jessica is fearless should lead one to think that she acts carelessly. Genuine fearlessness means taking time to think, understanding the risks involved, and still deciding to go ahead when it is important. She is able to see that a situation is difficult without letting that difficulty stop her. It is this blend of courage and responsibility that makes her especially suitable for the job.
For Jessica, the name Fearless should stand as a symbol of courage, determination, confidence, and resilience; it should act as a reminder that challenges are not reasons for yielding but rather chances to find out her own strength. Regardless of whether she has to make a difficult decision, stand up for someone, overcome failure, or enter an unfamiliar situation, Jessica is able to meet each of these situations with courage.
Ultimately, Jessica can be associated with the Fearless brand because it embodies her ability to meet challenges with determination rather than having her actions be controlled by fear. The brand represents the strength to keep going, the confidence to remain loyal to one's decisions, and the courage to face whatever may happen in the future. It is not necessary for Jessica to be free of fear in order to be considered fearless—what is required is only the courage to rise above it.

Once in a while, Avis' wand did this odd thing. It was pretty uncommon, and pretty random. Every once in a while, her wand shot two spells at once. She could never control what the second spell was, but it made her wonder - could she? Could she cast two spells at once? If so, she would basically be two different people at once. Her duels would become 4 v 3s. 5 v 3s, if her wand did that extra spell thing and she spread the spell. Then, no one could be her, and she would truely be the best at duelling.
All pure motives, as motives go.
She spent hours in an empty classroom with not one pillow propped up on a table, but two, and aimed her wand at the one on the left. And sure, sometimes she hit cast two spells, but it wasnt controlled. It wasnt more common than it was before, until it was.
Once, in October, she was casting a flipendo, when it seemed to slice, flipping into both pillows and Avis grinned, spun to make sure no one was at the door, the let out a quiet shriek of joy, before flattening back into a slight smile and starting again. Maybe she couldnt cast two spells, but she could certainly make it look like she did.
It was something about the thought process that made it work, something about her level of intent and, to be honest, how much she cared to beat whomever was on the other side of the spell.
That was the first step, figuring out how to do it, but acfually doing it consistently was another thing entirely. She hadnt even checked her book with Sabrina in a month, she was so busy grinding out the training.
Not that there had been anything in it, anways.
Not that she cared. Totally. Definetly. Because it gave her more time to fling spells at those stupid worn pillows. By the end, Avis barely even liked the color blue anymore, which was unfortunate, considering part of her hair was blue.
By October, Avis could consistently hit both of them, although it did wear her down a bit after, and she always seemed to be a bit worse at her next few spells. At that point, she really hoped that no one had noticed her take the pillows from the ravenclaw common room, and she really really hoped no one expected her to return the thing, considered the mangled mess that the pillows had become
